Emica entered a small writing school that was near a river. Her friend had joined her. But, the teacher had an odd vibe around him. Emica became a little scared of him. She especially became scared when the teacher started to pay more attention to her. One day, when she runs from him, she falls into a world of adventure, risk, and abnormalities. 
But, her teacher is what scares her more than this new world. What secrets and schemes did he use to get her here?

THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW: I've gotten over the majority of my laziness. I'm unlikely to update this much. It's pretty much complete. The novel I'm working on is Dark Seas Leading Demise

There are a lot of people who have the common misconception that story is no good if it uses existing tropes and generic plots genre savvy readers are so used to seeing by now.

If people were to be more self-aware, then they would figure out that most popular works are basically re-skinned versions of our favourite overall narratives. Whether it is a quest to save the world or a more personal story, cliches are bound to happen.

However, there is a difference between good cliches and bad ones. The bad ones tend to be an observation of something that is 'tsundere' and then thinking it's totally reasonable to make a character of this character archetype without considering how it fits in with your story. The 'cute girl warming up to you, the main character' is fantasy all otakus fall into once in a while and is something they'd like to read in their fiction. What they don't want is cardboard box with no humanity that turns them this way.

The 'over tv trope analysis' effect happens when you know about a trope but don't seem to understand that it can't be easily added to a story just because you know it exists. Take the Toradora anime as an example: The heroine of the series isn't violent and abrasive because 'that is her archetype', but because there are multiple facets to her life which ended up shaping her to fit that archetype.

Although tropes themselves are like gears in a story that keep the plot moving, the only way to truly write a good story is through 'translating' them to fit the setting and theme of the story your writing.

If you can't add a trope in a way that influences your reader's feelings in one way or another, then it's better not to add it in the first place. After all, no one wants to read an abbreviation of a trope no matter how many creative gimmicks you add on top of it.

Think of Isekai as an example. Though it's become a trend in the community to send people to another world just to replicate how other authors create a sense of immersion for their readers using it. There is a massive difference between the likes of 'In Another World With My Smartphone' and 'Re:Zero In Another World'. The former only using the barebones skeleton of the trope while the latter completely taking advantage of everything the trope entails through adding an element of realism to the story.

The whole reason Natsuki Subaru is well remembered isn't because he's the perfect protagonist but because the writer of the story fully utilised everything about the trope instead of using it just for superficial immersion from a 'normal human from Earth' being transported into a fantasy world.

There is a feeling of 'perfection' added into the story not because it is the perfect story, but because the tropes it added were 'perfectly utilised' to tell the story the Author wanted to tell. Some could say a story isn't fully immersive due to lack of specific explanations and whatnot. However, they miss the point and end up not realising that a good story is one that influences the reader in specific way rather than trying to eat more than it can chew.

Take Steins/Gate as an example: If you were to ask the question of why a satellite that crashed into a building not investigated by the authorities as soon as it happened, then the rest of this thrilling time-travel story falls apart. Contrarily, by focusing more on characters instead, it was able to make the people watching the Anime ignore this plot hole to the point everyone considers it a masterpiece (unlike its dumpster fire of a sequel that was badly written).

Intrigue could be the result of contrived situations such as very specific 'coincidences' happening just for the sake of moving the plot. This may sound bad to do on paper, but it actually helps a lot in making a story more immersive if foreshadowing is done correctly. Other than that, you could say that any story has a certain level of contrivances in it if you looked at it deep enough... My point from saying all this is that contrivances are fine if it is character driven. As long as you know what you are trying to write and have the guts to make artistic choices with how much information you'd keep back or tell the readers, then you'll do great as a writer.

I brought this up many times, but I myself once write an Isekai and purposefully left out the main character's name, looks, and even where on Earth he lived before reincarnating into another world. It was an artistic choice no one understood at first but as they read more of it, the fact that I chose to put emphasis on the most defining traits of his past life while only adding how it changed his decision making skills in his second life did wonders later on.

Let this be a lesson to you all. Even 'Art' can't be about everything. The tools and colours you use is what will define it once your done. No story is liked by all audiences, but that doesn't mean your own story won't be liked if you don't follow 'trends'.

In fact, it's the opposite. The more you try to appeal to everyone, the more generic your story will become. It's best to know what your trying to write, have faith, and only edit once many chapters are done since it is impossible to see if your story is good or not unless you write ten chapters or more.

Well, that's all I got. My point is stop having anxiety attacks and write with a vision in mind before trying to adapt to your audience. Be flexible, but not cowardly, as you NEED to have you own opinions.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

The Basics
Meditation is one of the best ways to regulate your body; as it balances your emotions, hormones, blood pressure, thoughts and much more. In magic, meditation is considered an extremely important basic, as it is the foundation for many magical workings. There is an infinite number of ways to meditate which is useful because meditation can be customized for each individual. One technique is to just close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Although it seems very simple, it can do wonders in your life and magic workings.
Visualization is essentially creating an image in your mind much like a daydream. This technique is useful when doing your magical workings because if you can visualize the outcome of what you desire (say getting a good grade on a test) then you will have a higher chance of fulfilling that desire. (Getting an A+) To improve this skill, meditate regularly, and try to visual something you know well, such as a toy or jewelry. Form a mental image in your mind of the object, each time going further and further into detail.
Grounding is an activity to balance your energy by removing excess, or replenishing, the energy in your body. Think of your body as a cup of water; as you do magical workings you drink/fill the cup. Grounding ensures that the water isn't completely used or overflowing. To ground yourself, a good technique is to visualize your body as a tree; grow your roots deep into the ground and spread your leaves. As energy comes from both the ground and the sun, visualize it replenishing yourself and allowing you to grow.
Centering is, in my opinion, the second step to grounding. This activity allows you to take your personal energy and mold it into 1 constant flow of energy. Think of centering as bringing together many small streams to form a strong and powerful river. To center yourself, visualize a silhouette of your body, twisting and turning with energy. As you continue, visualize the energy being condensed into 1 place in your body (typically the navel). Then, whenever you need to draw from your power visualize the energy bursting out from where you stored it.

Casting Spells
Spells are essentially tools that can be used to direct energy into a specific outcome. (Such as getting an A+ on a test) However, some spells are destined to fail because they aim to accomplish outlandish goals. (Such as changing your DNA)

Tips
Sometimes it helps to forget about the spell so that you aren't having second thoughts about the spell's effectiveness.
You need to believe your spells are going to work. If you don't believe it, how can you achieve it?
Use your resources. The more you practice and do the basics, the more effective your spell will be.
Put all of your emotions into the spell while visualizing the outcome you desire.
Why Spells Fail
You don't believe you are able to cast the spell
You don't believe the spell will work
You haven't practiced the basics enough
You didn't put quality effort into the spell
It was a fluffy spell

Writing Spells
Writing your own spell is actually quite easy. Get something to write on (can be electronic) and write these down:
What you desire the spell to do (The Title)
Your current emotions/intent
Any tools/ingredients you want to include
Any actions you want to include (Ex. Dancing)
Any words you want to say
When you are done, make it a more "formal" spell by cleaning it up a bit and adding anything else you desire. When you are done, try it out. Don't be frustrated if it doesn't work the first time, spells take practice. As a note, spells don't have to rhyme or include items.

Tools/Materials
The wonderful world of magic is that nothing is required. Although many craft practitioners prefer using tools, they are not a necessity to perform magic. Some practitioners never use tools; it all depends on personal preference.

Magic(k)
As you've probably seen, some people add a "k" to magic when talking about it. This is to distinguish between stage magic (which is for entertainment) and magick, which is a practice. You can spell it either way you choose, it's just personal preference. Secondly, magic is neither good, nor evil; neither black nor white. Magic is determined based on the intent of the caster; one could easily use "white" magic to harm someone and use "black" magic to help someone. Thirdly, witches are not necessarily Wiccans. Witchcraft is a practice, while Wicca is a religion that incorporates the concepts of witchcraft.
Misconceptions about magick are quite common among newer members. Many people enter the craft, thinking that it can be used to easily mend all of the problem and difficulties in life. However, this is not the case, as magick requires years of devotion, practice, and studies. Furthermore, magick is energy, and can't affect the universe on a "viewable" level. If you are seeking to change your physical appearance, to achieve amazing powers (such as telekinesis, levitation, flying, teleportation, transformation, etc.), or to change your species (such as to become a vampire/werewolf/mermaid) then magick is not for you. Magick is intended for spiritual insight and awakening, not for your amusement.

The Chakras
The chakras are the 7 energy centers of the body. Each chakra supposedly attributes to a different aspect of your well-being; and when these chakras become unbalanced or blocked, they cause disturbances in your body. To open and balance these chakras, it is best to do chakra work. These are the 7 chakras:
Root
Sacral
Solar Plexus
Heart
Throat
Forehead/3rd Eye
Crown

The root chakra
What it is: Think about your root chakra (AKA first chakra) as the foundation of a house, except for your body—it's sturdy, stabilizing, and supportive, keeping everything safely connected as long as it's functioning properly. It's associated with the base of the spine, the pelvic floor, and the first three vertebrae, and responsible for an individual's sense of security and survival. Because of that, it's also connected to whatever you use to ground yourself, including basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and safety, as well as your more emotional needs such as letting go of fear and feeling safe. As you well know, when these needs are met, you tend to worry less.
When it's blocked: A variety of ailments can occur from blockages, including anxiety disorders, fears, or nightmares. Physically, the first chakra is associated with problems in the colon, with the bladder, with elimination, or with lower back, leg, or feet issues.

The sacral chakra
What it is: Consider the second chakra the most fun out of the seven. Located above the pubic bone and below the navel, it's responsible for our sexual and creative energies. Associated with the color orange and the element of water, when your sacral chakra is aligned, you will likely feel great: You're friendly, passionate, and successfully fulfilled while also eliciting feelings of wellness, abundance, pleasure, and joy. (Nice!) By honoring your body and expressing yourself creatively, you're keeping the energy wheels turning and fluid.
When it's blocked: When you're feeling uninspired creatively or have some emotional instability, your sacral chakra may be misaligned. Likewise, this can also be associated with physical sexual dysfunction, while also potentially experiencing fear of change, depression, or addiction-like behaviors.

The solar plexus chakra
What it is: With its name meaning "lustrous gem" in Sanskrit, the third chakra (not to be confused with your "third eye," which is the sixth chakra—more on that in a minute) is said to be your source of individual power, ruling over self-esteem. It is the "action and balance chakra that focuses on individual willpower, personal power, and commitment." Located from the navel to about the ribcage, it reportedly governs all things metabolic, digestive, and stomach-related.
When it's blocked: You can suffer from low self-esteem, have difficulty making decisions, and may have anger or control issues. It's not just feeling badly about yourself, but also may lead you to outwardly express apathy, procrastination, or that you're able to be taken advantage of easily. Likewise, you'll also possibly have a tummy ache of some kind such as digestive issues or gas.

The heart chakra
What it is: As the central chakra, the fourth chakra, found at the center of your chest, represents where the physical and the spiritual meet. Physically, it's said to encapsulate the heart, the thymus gland (which plays a vital role in your endocrine and lymphatic system), the lungs, and the breasts. And as its name implies, is all about the love. It's the awakening to spiritual awareness, forgiveness, and service. Associated with the color green and pink (yes, the millennial, rose quartz kind), it's believed that when your heart chakra is aligned and balanced, love and compassion are flowing freely—both in terms of giving it out and getting it back. Your good vibes are practically contagious.
When it's blocked: A closed heart chakra can give way to grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, and hatred toward yourself and others—especially in the form of holding a grudge against something or someone. Holding onto hurt harbors negative feelings and cuts you off from opportunities to love.

The throat chakra
What it is: Have zero problem saying how you feel? Your fifth chakra, which is all about speaking your inner truth—or specifically, ensuring that your inner truths are properly communicated—is likely well-balanced. The throat chakra rules all communication and is the first of the three solely spiritual chakras (as opposed to the lower ones, which manifest themselves in a more physical way). Anatomically, the throat chakra is associated with the thyroid, parathyroid, jaw, neck, mouth, tongue, and larynx. When this chakra is in check, you're able to fully listen as well as speak and express yourself clearly.
When it's blocked: In addition to having trouble speaking your truth, you find it hard to pay attention and stay focused, or fear judgment from others—which can further hinder your ability to keep it real. Physically, this blockage can manifest itself as a sore throat, thyroid issues, neck and shoulder stiffness, or tension headaches.

The third-eye chakra
What it is: Don't let its name confuse you. The third-eye chakra is actually your sixth chakra and is physically located between your eyebrows. Organs including the pituitary gland, eyes, head, and lower part of the brain are said to be ruled by the third eye. And it reportedly governs your intuition—plus the ability to recognize and tap into it.  What's more, the third eye is also said to be responsible for all things between you and the outside world, serving as a bridge between the two, allowing you to cut through any illusions and drama to see the clear picture.
When it's blocked: You may have trouble accessing your intuition, trusting your inner voice, recalling important facts, or learning new skills. And if your lower chakras—AKA the root, sacral, solar plexus, and heart chakras—and are unbalanced, your third eye will likely be as well, which may cause you to act more judgmental, dismissive, and introverted. A third-eye blockage is associated with a broad range of issues, including depression, anxiety, and a more judgmental attitude—while physically, it's said to cause headaches, dizziness, and a slew of other brain-health issues.

The crown chakra
What it is: Known in Sanskrit as the Sahaswara chakra or the "thousand petal lotuses" chakra, it is the center of enlightenment and our spiritual connection to our higher selves, others, and ultimately, the divine. As the name suggests, the seventh chakra located at the crown of your head. When aligned, the realizations that occur within you are said to be along the lines of pure awareness, consciousness, undivided, and all expansive. Basically, bigger than yourself and yet part of one giant universe.
When it's blocked: A crown-chakra blockage may create feelings of isolation or emotional distress—basically feeling disconnected from everyone and everything. Or, you might feel like your normal self—just not in an exalted state of spiritual connection and enlightenment, which is totally okay and seriously normal. Unlike the other chakras, the crown chakra is often only opened up fully through specific yogic or meditative exercises, or at certain times—which is not a skill set you can call upon at any given moment. You may be able to get a taste of it, though, through daily practices—anything from meditation, prayer, to moments of silence and gratitude—to have those moments of spiritual connection.

Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

"Why do you want to learn sand art?"
Wen Wan had already guessed this possibility before Meng Fan arrived. She knew it was the most likely, otherwise, he wouldn't have come to her. She asked the question out of courtesy, but she was also genuinely curious.
Meng Fan was famous, and in addition to doing strange things, everyone was still willing to mention him because there was the premise that he was very good at his specialty. Otherwise, these strange things would just be out of professional merit instead of for entertainment. If that was the case, his classmates would still talk about him, but professors wouldn't approve.
Many people had seen Meng Fan's manga and his illustrations, including Wen Wan, and they could all see that Meng Fan's drawing skills were among the highest in the industry.
Because of this, Wen Wan was curious.
Most sand painters transferred from manga artists and not sketching or oil painting since sand painting was very similar to manga in terms of the creative techniques required.
Meng Fan's response was more or less honest. "I think sand art is pretty cool, and I'm very interested."
"Your answer is pretty cool too."
Maybe it was already preconceived, or maybe his charm was working, regardless, Wen Wan had a very good impression of Meng Fan. She even accepted Meng Fan's sloppy response as a gesture of his coolness and continued to ask him, "How would you like me to teach you? Do you want to go to class or come to my studio?"
Meng Fan was overjoyed. "You agree to teach me?"
Wen Wan smiled. "There's no reason to say no."
Meng Fan thought for a while and said a little sheepishly, "I want your one on one teaching course. It's like this, I think I have a good foundation for drawing, and I'm a fast learner as well... Uhm, most importantly, I have a lot of questions. If it was a regular class, I'm afraid I'll just waste the other students' time with too many questions."
Meng Fan wanted to find a teacher to get him started quickly, so he could have a sense of direction and became familiarized with the process. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to transition regardless of how great his drawing skills were. It was not like his drawing skills had its own "memory" that would allow him to know sand painting without even learning it.
"You mean you want to learn fast?"
Wen Wan didn't doubt Meng Fan's self-confidence since facts had proven that sand painting wasn't a skill heavy form of art. Regardless of what category of art one chose to paint, sand art was easy to learn as long as one had the foundations set. And if one had their own drawing style, their sand painting style would be unique as well.
In addition, strong calligraphy skills would also greatly help with sand painting.
Even if one began from zero, one had to spend a lot of time on their foundations which required a lot of effort.
Of course, it didn't mean that other skills were required to paint with sand which was the same as… if one learned oil painting, one might not be good at Chinese painting. After all, the tools and methods were different, and nothing was certain.
In retrospect, with Meng Fan's current painting skills in sand painting, Wen Wan believed Meng Fan would have a great advantage.
"I want to see how fast you really are."
Wen Wan smiled. "How about this. I was going to head to my studio today, so why don't you come with me. I'll ask a staff member to share some basic knowledge and props with you, and when I'm done with my work, I'll give you a proper lesson. If you really are fast, then I'll go one on one with you."
Otherwise... Did she even have to continue?
Either she didn't teach them, or she treated everyone equally.
Meng Fan nodded fervently. "Then thank you in advance."
"My studio is right next to the school. Let's go there."
As they spoke, the two left the office and headed toward the school gates.
"Iron singer!"
"Badass!"
"Hello, Meng Fatty!"
Along the way, they ran into a lot of people who greeted Meng Fan, and even those who didn't say hello also looked at him a few times.
At Bai Zhi's concert yesterday, the largest audience group by far was the student and faculty from the Academy. Most of them had watched it, and those who didn't catch up with the videos, especially the two songs that Meng Fan sang.
In addition, the video of Meng Fan's two songs on Weibo had received a high number of shares and retweets. It was even popular on some short video sharing platforms.
It was a pity that these clicks and retweets couldn't be converted into viewers. Otherwise, Meng Fan didn't even need to study sand painting for the double eleven gala since that would have completed the task already.
"Those who don't know probably think you're famous."
As they left the school, she said with a smile and pointed toward a direction before walking there. Not long after, they reached a neighborhood near the school. Coincidentally, Wen Wan's studio was in the same neighborhood as Meng Fan. Although they weren't in the same building, they were only one unit apart. If he really looked, he could see the studio from his apartment.
Wen Wan's sand painting studio was called Wen Wan Sand Art. It occupied the second and third floors with a relatively large surface area. The third floor was for meetings, guests, research, and some teaching. The second floor was mostly used for practice and other creative functions.
"Ding."
Wen Wan took Meng Fan into the second-floor studio and spoke to a guy who had been tossing sand. "I don't have to introduce him, do I? Can you take him around to familiarize with the tools, and teach him some basics for sand painting as well. I'll be joining you two in a moment."
She then turned to Meng Fan. "If you want to know anything just ask him."
After this, she headed for the third floor.
"Hello, iron hero!"
Ding was a student from the academy as well; of course, he knew Meng Fan.
More than half of Wen Wan's students at this studio were from HuaXia academy. A quarter of them were graduates from the academy, and a handful of the rest was from the National Art Academy.
Wen Wan was just like Qin Jiao when it came to helping students.
Of course, the academy was still the best resource for studios like these. If one didn't pounce when the treasure was right under their nose, where else would one go?
Ding asked him a few curious questions and then began to introduce the tools once he got a better understanding of Meng Fan. The most important tool out of these was the sand used for the art.
The sand came in several different types and colors to satisfy various requirements.
Ding had been learning sand painting since his first year at the university and entered Wen Wan's studio in his second year. He was legitimately Wen Wan's student and was already appearing solo at several performances at the beginning of this year. His foundations were solid, and he was a creative guy. And slowly but surely, he developed his own style.
Naturally, he was very professional.
After introducing Meng Fan to the tools, Ding began to teach him starting from the basics since he knew Meng Fan had zero foundations, to begin with.
He talked for a dozen or so minutes as he acted out the techniques.
"The basics for sand painting include spreading, like this...Then it's spreading... dotting..."
Ten more minutes later, Ding let Meng Fan try it out himself.
After explaining the basics, one naturally had to try it out on their own. He grasped the sand and began to 'paint'. This way, he would be able to better digest the knowledge; otherwise, the lesson would just go through one ear and out the other.
About two hours later, Wen Wan went down the stairs and entered the studio. "It took longer than I thought. Coincidentally it's dinner time, you guys can pick it up after we eat. You understand the basics right?"

I finished writing the basics of the EXP system, and now stuck in the elemental system (almost done, but need some creative ideas!)

I am a 13 year old who loves reading .I thought that I cold give a try in writing and here I am .Never expected anyone to read my book and Thank you to all who read it.I live in India so we have English as our first language so there won't be many grammatical mistakes.We have compulsory creative writing in English so all of us are used to writing lame stories.I know currently nothing much is happening in the story but I can assure that by the weekend the story will get interesting.

what if, your marriage was not your own choice

After Flora logged into the workshop, she dumped the books in a corner and set up the page-turner.
Taking a sip from the Potions Guzzler, she returned to the still running simulation grounds. 
In the morning, she had forgotten to check on the Blade-Rollers. The poor robots were both in bad shape. One showed severe damage through overheating, the other had four ruptured appendages, and both of their sawblades were blunt.
"Mine is the broken one, Milady. I pushed the movement and rammed a few trees. Aitoshuri did several long term tests. I'll transmit her data to you."
A row of stats appeared on Flora's HUD. Running continuously, the sawblades worked up to two minutes on their highest setting before overheating and half an hour in their lowest setting. Not bad, not bad at all. 
"Outstanding job."

Flora returned to her workbench to work on the octopus. Now she had a pretty good picture of the joints and the motors for them. 
She decided to equip two of the tentacles with tools as tips. With a heavy heart, she sacrificed one of her two Doom-Moon multitools and a knife/bender/gripper hybrid for the other arm. 
The octopus should not only help her with crafting but also with fighting. Laser eyes were an absolute classic. She browsed the doom moon laser-turret manuals and the marketplace for ideas and appropriate parts.
Now, she had included all the functions she wanted. 
Next came the fun parts. 
Rationality told Flora to armor the octopus, but thinking about Aitoshuri's needs and real-life octopuses, she had a better idea: Display fabrics!
These fabrics could change their colors to such a degree, that they were used as TV-Screens. The military used them for camouflage and the fashion industry for special effects.
Her drawn picture with notes finished, she started to build the robot.
Mainly, she used the tier-1 materials from Doom Moon. Unfortunately, she couldn't create a whole laser system with them, so she had to substitute with tier-0 materials, that was also the case for the casing with the display-fabric.
With more efficient motors, she solved the worst of her energy problems, but her plans for skin and the laser eyes had thrown her back. She splurged on a high-efficiency mana battery that Aitoshuri could hoard mana while not working and use it for high-load phases.
The octopussy quickly took shape: Eight limbs equally spaced around a roundish head. For the eyes, Flora found some cute heart-shaped laser crystals and immediately bought them.
Comparing her creation to a picture of an actual octopus, she decided to stay more on the cartoonish side of design and forwent the beak and the mouth opening at the bottom. The ability to spew poisonous ink would be awesome, but she had enough on her plate for the first version - maybe in the future.
An easy solution would be using toxic materials for the tentacles. Aitoshuri could hug her opponents to death!
Flora experimented with fusing the toxic waste and the hull material of the Doom Moon and came up with suitable material. It wasn't as strong as the pure material, but she liked the toxic effect.
Suddenly she got another idea. What if she could integrate a kind of inventory space, so Aitoshuri could pick up and store things directly? Flora had disliked stooping down in the sewers and collecting dead creatures like the kingators. 
After a quick research, she found a solution. Unfortunately, robots couldn't have a separate inventory. You either could include ordinary bags, or you could give them an access slot to your own inventory. When Flora thought about it for a bit, she realized that the latter had advantages as well. Flora included the inventory-access under the head.
'We'll see how it works out.'
Finally, she finished the design.

Flora burned to print the robot!  But she refrained from it because it would be a great project to inaugurate her very own printer. 

The next idea came to Flora when she thought about what to do subsequently. Flora whistled. She was on a creative streak! 
In the martial arts classes, the other students had their pets on the walls of the room. She could use the page-turner and let Aitoshuri read.
Envisioning the mountain of books and the page-turner amidst wolves and tigers, she decided to build a library container. She could hide all the bad romance in it, and nobody would see the books! That alone was reason enough!
Another 3x3x3m Container took form. This time, Flora inserted shelves and the page-turner and gave it four extendable legs to save space in the classroom. She connected the page-turner and the container, no need to waste mana and nocks on two devices when one could do the job.
On the outer casing, she air-brushed a shelf with old books and the inside brown and orange grained. She added a light and a long grappler that the AIs could fetch their books themselves from the shelves.

When Flora saw the rating, she reworked the legs. Before, she had rushed that parts of the design too much. After increasing the stability and creating a feature, that it could stay at 0,5m, 1m, 1,5,m and 2m without using energy, she refreshed the description.

Flora beamed to the Riverstones HQ to print it. 
While waiting for the printer to complete its job, Svetlana entered the building.
"Hello, Auntie Flora!" Svetlana greeted her. "Thank you for the funding. We used it to upgrade the printer, among other things."
"No problem, dear. Everything that is mine is Robby's anyway." Flora looked at the printer and felt a pang of conscience. "In a few hours, I'll get my own printer. Of course, I want to update it as well. Should I update yours to 'S' first?"
Svetlana coughed. "The update to S is very hard. Don't underestimate it! And to be honest, we have no funds for it at the moment. Of course, we aspire to have an S-rated printer long-term, so your help will be appreciated."
"Sure, and meanwhile, you can use my printer if you want that extra quality. I'm moving to a new lair, and the printer will be in a separate hall from my living quarters, so you can visit anytime without intruding."
"I never heard from someone who upgraded their printer alone. You can hire other crafters to register their blueprints on your printer. The price for an S-rated blueprint is 1000 VirDos."
Now, it was Flora's time to splutter.  "Just for registering? Not the blueprint itself?"
"Right. You didn't know?" Svetlana scratched her head. "Well, we wouldn't pay you money, but you would get lots of contributions points. I already sent you some for the upgrade to A. 
*Bleep*! I forgot to send you the voucher for hiring squats! I'm sorry Auntie, the last week was at the same time hellish with the new employees and heavenly because of all the excitement about my rising synchronization!
I'm now at 69% and hit a ceiling. Do you have any advice?"
"Have you tried using different bodyparts?"
Svetlana stared at her frowning. "What do you mean by body parts?"
The printing of the Library-Container finished. 
Flora signaled Lana to wait a moment while she logged into the workshop and looked through her cloud-drive. 
'Where is the Stehaufmaennchen?'
After she recovered the file, she ordered the printing.
She joined Lana and watched the candy cane alike structure being built.
"I designed this tumbler for training my sync. When you hit it, it will bounce back." Flora pointed at the colorful stripes. "You can aim at the blue band with knee, yellow with your elbow. On the top are some smaller dots to hit with your finger. Try it first when it is standing still after that when it is swaying. Don't forget to train to aim with your butt and bosom, as well. You never know when you need fine control in these areas!" 
"That's handy! I saw the tumbler at the forum a view hours ago!
It's a new item in the Cetviwos-Shop. Guess they directly used the rights they bought from you."
"Oh, well. I don't expect much sales from such a simple gizmo." She looked at it. "I could add a feature that gives you challenges, lighting up some of the rings and a body part, and you get points for hitting it correctly. And you wouldn't have to announce the moves to the System." Flora grinned. Yes, she was on a creative fire! "Would you be interested in such a device, or is it too much pressure?"
"My old job consisted of disarming bombs. I'll be damned if a *bleep*ing tumbler pressured me!"
"Give me 10 minutes!" 
Flora logged back into the workshop and took a sip from a mana potion.
'Cables, L.E.D.s, sensors, a display, a mana-plate, and a control box, and we are ready to go!'
First, she put an L.E.D behind every stripe and dot of the tumbler.  Then she sculpted a human doll that looked a bit like Svetlana, marked the body-parts, put lights behind them, and put it at the top of the pole. 
At the base, she installed the display and a big 'Start'-Button.
Then she wired everything to the box. 
Flora realized that it was the first time she had to program a control box. Until now, she had cheated with using the AIs to control the devices.
Thankfully, the programming was more like putting phrases together than actually writing the code: 
Define zone_x: Where the color of the pole is the same in the region of L.E.D_x.
Define bodypart_y: To the lit doll body part corresponding body part of the player.
At Button press:
Light up one random L.E.D_x of group tumbler-lights. 
Light up one random L.E.D_y of group doll-lights.
Wait 5 seconds or until Hit in L.E.D zone_y with bodypart_y.
When Hit: Counter +1.
Show counter.
Repeat 10 times.
When Flora checked the time, she realized that she had only needed 6 minutes. So she added a menu-button and up and down arrows for adjusting the time for the hit and the number of rounds.
Flora rechecked everything, shrugged, and ordered to print it two times.
It was a bit rough, but that was normal for a prototype for proof of concept.

Back in the bamboo hut, Flora found Lana training with the original tumbler and explained to her the game.
When the devices finished printing, they occupied different corners of the hut and started playing.
In the first round, Flora got an easy move: The head of the doll lit up and a stripe near the top. She headbutted the tumbler for her first point.
The next round left her slack-jawed: Left knee to the stripe directly beneath the doll. That was at the height of 1,70m!
Flora to Aidan: "Remind me to make two areas that we can match only the upper body limbs to the high zones of the pole. Maybe implement two game variants, one for gymnasts and one for normal people."
<Power-Jump>!
While Flora hit the pole, she missed the right zone by a hairbreadth. Admittingly a very corse hair, more a dreadlock than natural hair.
The next few rounds went uneventful. Only when the pole wanted from Flora to hit one of the small dots with her elbow, she took another note.
Flora to Aidan: "More mid-sized zones would be helpful as well. Maybe we quarter one of the cylindric stripes at hip-height in rectangles."
After Flora completed the game with a score of 9, she watched Lana finishing her round. Her counter showed 12, but Flora didn't know how many times she had failed. She added it to the improvement list.
Lana's movement looked fluent, and she aggressively attacked the tumbler.  The weird jerkiness was gone, but a bit of skittishness remained.
"So, what do you think? Any suggestions?"
"I *bleep*ing adore it and don't want to stop! But two issues caught my eyes: A finger lit up, and it took me a while to identify which finger because the light spread. The other thing is, I haven't even played five minutes and a quarter of its durability is already gone. My strength isn't that high. If someone with a lot of physical power plays this game, the tumbler will be kaput in no time."
"Good points! The solution for the first one is easy, but I don't know about the second one. Maybe higher-tiered materials?"
"You could try to get it approved as a training-dummy. I know that the requirements are ridiculous because people had exploited it for combat, but you can try."
"Oh, tell me how! I love exploitation!"
"First they made training dummies robots with infinite HP and took them questing as tanks. That got fixed quickly. Then a too clever by a half guild constructed the wall of their compound out of mage dummies. The wall was not only indestructible, but it actually shot spells at the attackers."
Flora laughed. "Great! I want that! Any more feedback?"
"Some of the combinations were a bit challenging, but I liked it. The journey is the reward, right? And without pushing the limits, there is no progress."
"Exactly, but I will implement an easy mode for the beginners. Thank you for testing! I'll send you the finished product as a reward."
Flora to Aidan: "I hope you took notes, she did some excellent testing."
"Oh, yes, no probs! Thanks!" Lana fidgeted. "The topic is hot ATM. I would hurry up the publication. And ... I might stay here for a while, you know." 
Flora smiled and nodded. But first, she went in the corner of the hut and filled up the library container. Although Lana was occupied with the game, Flora still shielded the books from her eyes.
'I'm so childish! I'm sure Lana reads tons of shitty romance novels! And since when do I care what other people think of me?'
The admonishment didn't help. Flora tucked the books away on the last shelf. Not that you could hide 124 books in an otherwise mostly empty library, but she tried.
Flora to Aitoshuri: "Enjoy!"
A fanfare of trumpets sounded, which made Flora smile. She recognized the piece: it was from Bach's 'Jauchzet Frohlocket!' (Shout for joy, exult!).
Back in the workshop, Flora enlargened the hands of the doll. Then she inserted an opaque material on the inside and black contours outside between all the zones. That would help color blind people to distinguish the zones better. 
Methodically, Flora worked through her list until only the dummy issue was left. 
That proved to be simpler than Lana depicted it. Flora just had to draw a rune on the base. The rune made the tumbler indestructible while training, but vulnerable while in combat. 
Flora was intrigued by the concept of runes and immediately bought the book '1000 common Runes and Glyphs'.

After printing one for Lana and herself, she published the design and wrote CentralTank a letter. She offered them to feel free to sell it in their shop as well, for a cut, of course.

After Flora Fluss burns down the kitchen, her son insists she is too old to live alone. She's got two choices. Either move into a retirement home or spend the rest of her life within a virtual reality game governed by society's most advanced artificial intelligence. When you've worked a lifetime as an engineer for home appliances, naturally, you go with the option that has more toasters. 
Soon, Flora finds out that the virtual world is more familiar than she thought. Though, it takes her a while to get used to the idea that tanks don't hold water or oil but the aggro of mobs.

Daeva after bumping with Juno, she thought that her behavior wasn't so nice. But when the school bell rings, she snapped out of it and went to her designated room for her subject. Daeva is a fourth year college student in Literature and Creative Writing. She thought of becoming a writer to write literary pieces based on her experiences. Also, she thought that becoming a writer would allow her to have a small chance of interacting with people.

When she was about to enter her room, her Professor bumped into her. Mrs. Sanchez smiled at her. Daeva greeted her good morning and Mrs. Sanchez greeted her in return.

They both entered the room and Daeva sat at the second row. Mrs. Sanchez greeted her class and began discussing a lesson about her subject. She kept blabbing in front while Daeva glanced at the window. She caught a glimpse of Juno who's about to leave the school gates. As she follows Juno with her eyes, she began to feel a sharp pain at her left forearm. She didn't bother looking at it, she knows that it's currently bleeding so she just pulled her black sleeves lower. She returned her attention to her discussing professor and listens to her.

A couple of subjects passed then Daeva's lunch break arrived. She quickly ate at the cafeteria before going to the library. The school's library was enormous. It's also where the book club is rooming. Daeva is a member of the Book club and happens to be a good friend of Kevin, the Book club's president. When Daeva came in, she found Kevin fixing books that weren't returned to the proper shelve. She just picked up some books that were left at the tables and did the same. There weren't too much people in the library for now so she started casually chatting with Kevin.

"Hey Kev, you seem frustrated... What's wrong??" asked Daeva.

"Student School Council Vice President...She destroyed my morning." said Kevin casually.

"What did she do to you?" Daeva felt curious.

"Oh nothing...She just shuted me out... refusing to do some student council duties...or simply take the proposal and leave it to miss President's table... That's all..." Kevin replied.

Daeva didn't asked further what happened...But then, she felt like the person who she bumped with earlier at the hall way was the Vice President.

"The Vice President, was she the campus belle I keep hearing about." Daeva asked.

"Hmm? Yeah, that's her...Why, what's up?" asked Kevin as he finished arranging the books.

"I think she's the pretty blonde girl I bumped with this early morning. She wasn't really polite." Daeva said as she scratches the area where she felt pain while staring at Juno.

Kevin saw Daeva scratched her forearm right bellow her palm. He looked at Daeva with malicious intent. His lips curved up at one side. He then grab Daeva's hand and brought her to the school's clinic. Daeva didn't resisted and just followed Kevin.

The nurse was currently out of the clinic so Daeva's forearm can be treated. She pulled her sleeve up and let Kevin treat her wound. Kevin cleaned the blood off and covered it with bandage. When he was done, Daeva thanked Kevin and they came back to the library. 

There, while Daeva was waiting for her next class like Kevin, they decided to read a book. Daeva picked a random fantasy book while Kevin opened his laptop and read about demons.

"Let's go home together later and just order pizza for dinner, what do you say?" Kevin offered to Daeva.

Daeva just nodded, it's not very often that they go home together. Daeva and Kevin are roommates and oftentimes, Daeva gets home first before Kevin because of his club president duties.

Almost an hour have passed and Kevin closed his laptop. It's time for his next class, Daeva still have over half an hour before her next subject so Kevin just left her. When Kevin left the library, the atmosphere in the library became gloomy. Anyone who's in there felt uncomfortable, some left but some ignored it. Daeva is feeling a bit irritated but what can she do? She can't get rid of them...never...

Daeva kept reading until its just 15min left before her next class. She stood up from her sit and returned the book into one of the shelves. She felt a hand caressed her cheek and hear a chuckle. Daeva ignored it and left the library.

When she's out of the library, she can feel that someone ran "its" fingers on her hair. Her mouth was twitching, slowly forming a malicious grin. She covered her mouth with her hands, then, she took out a face mask from her pants's pocket and covered her grin. She went to her next class as if nothing had happened.

She still have 2 subjects left for her to survive. Her 3rd subject for the day passed as if it was a filler chapter of her day. Nothing very interesting occurred nor the class. But on her final subject of the day: Creative Writing, the class was given an activity and that is to write a poem. The poem have no specific theme but should be rhyming.

Writing poems weren't a problem for Daeva at all. She doesn't limit herself when it comes to writing and its subject. She writes what's in her mind and what she feels. They we're given an hour and when they were done, they are then dismissed. Daeva finished after 30min, she's always the first one to finish. As she passed her work and leaves the room, her professor Mr.Wilson gave her work a read.
