After Flora logged into the workshop, she dumped the books in a corner and set up the page-turner.
Taking a sip from the Potions Guzzler, she returned to the still running simulation grounds. 
In the morning, she had forgotten to check on the Blade-Rollers. The poor robots were both in bad shape. One showed severe damage through overheating, the other had four ruptured appendages, and both of their sawblades were blunt.
"Mine is the broken one, Milady. I pushed the movement and rammed a few trees. Aitoshuri did several long term tests. I'll transmit her data to you."
A row of stats appeared on Flora's HUD. Running continuously, the sawblades worked up to two minutes on their highest setting before overheating and half an hour in their lowest setting. Not bad, not bad at all. 
"Outstanding job."

Flora returned to her workbench to work on the octopus. Now she had a pretty good picture of the joints and the motors for them. 
She decided to equip two of the tentacles with tools as tips. With a heavy heart, she sacrificed one of her two Doom-Moon multitools and a knife/bender/gripper hybrid for the other arm. 
The octopus should not only help her with crafting but also with fighting. Laser eyes were an absolute classic. She browsed the doom moon laser-turret manuals and the marketplace for ideas and appropriate parts.
Now, she had included all the functions she wanted. 
Next came the fun parts. 
Rationality told Flora to armor the octopus, but thinking about Aitoshuri's needs and real-life octopuses, she had a better idea: Display fabrics!
These fabrics could change their colors to such a degree, that they were used as TV-Screens. The military used them for camouflage and the fashion industry for special effects.
Her drawn picture with notes finished, she started to build the robot.
Mainly, she used the tier-1 materials from Doom Moon. Unfortunately, she couldn't create a whole laser system with them, so she had to substitute with tier-0 materials, that was also the case for the casing with the display-fabric.
With more efficient motors, she solved the worst of her energy problems, but her plans for skin and the laser eyes had thrown her back. She splurged on a high-efficiency mana battery that Aitoshuri could hoard mana while not working and use it for high-load phases.
The octopussy quickly took shape: Eight limbs equally spaced around a roundish head. For the eyes, Flora found some cute heart-shaped laser crystals and immediately bought them.
Comparing her creation to a picture of an actual octopus, she decided to stay more on the cartoonish side of design and forwent the beak and the mouth opening at the bottom. The ability to spew poisonous ink would be awesome, but she had enough on her plate for the first version - maybe in the future.
An easy solution would be using toxic materials for the tentacles. Aitoshuri could hug her opponents to death!
Flora experimented with fusing the toxic waste and the hull material of the Doom Moon and came up with suitable material. It wasn't as strong as the pure material, but she liked the toxic effect.
Suddenly she got another idea. What if she could integrate a kind of inventory space, so Aitoshuri could pick up and store things directly? Flora had disliked stooping down in the sewers and collecting dead creatures like the kingators. 
After a quick research, she found a solution. Unfortunately, robots couldn't have a separate inventory. You either could include ordinary bags, or you could give them an access slot to your own inventory. When Flora thought about it for a bit, she realized that the latter had advantages as well. Flora included the inventory-access under the head.
'We'll see how it works out.'
Finally, she finished the design.

Flora burned to print the robot!  But she refrained from it because it would be a great project to inaugurate her very own printer. 

The next idea came to Flora when she thought about what to do subsequently. Flora whistled. She was on a creative streak! 
In the martial arts classes, the other students had their pets on the walls of the room. She could use the page-turner and let Aitoshuri read.
Envisioning the mountain of books and the page-turner amidst wolves and tigers, she decided to build a library container. She could hide all the bad romance in it, and nobody would see the books! That alone was reason enough!
Another 3x3x3m Container took form. This time, Flora inserted shelves and the page-turner and gave it four extendable legs to save space in the classroom. She connected the page-turner and the container, no need to waste mana and nocks on two devices when one could do the job.
On the outer casing, she air-brushed a shelf with old books and the inside brown and orange grained. She added a light and a long grappler that the AIs could fetch their books themselves from the shelves.

When Flora saw the rating, she reworked the legs. Before, she had rushed that parts of the design too much. After increasing the stability and creating a feature, that it could stay at 0,5m, 1m, 1,5,m and 2m without using energy, she refreshed the description.

'Better!'

Flora beamed to the Riverstones HQ to print it. 
While waiting for the printer to complete its job, Svetlana entered the building.
"Hello, Auntie Flora!" Svetlana greeted her. "Thank you for the funding. We used it to upgrade the printer, among other things."
"No problem, dear. Everything that is mine is Robby's anyway." Flora looked at the printer and felt a pang of conscience. "In a few hours, I'll get my own printer. Of course, I want to update it as well. Should I update yours to 'S' first?"
Svetlana coughed. "The update to S is very hard. Don't underestimate it! And to be honest, we have no funds for it at the moment. Of course, we aspire to have an S-rated printer long-term, so your help will be appreciated."
"Sure, and meanwhile, you can use my printer if you want that extra quality. I'm moving to a new lair, and the printer will be in a separate hall from my living quarters, so you can visit anytime without intruding."
"I never heard from someone who upgraded their printer alone. You can hire other crafters to register their blueprints on your printer. The price for an S-rated blueprint is 1000 VirDos."
Now, it was Flora's time to splutter.  "Just for registering? Not the blueprint itself?"
"Right. You didn't know?" Svetlana scratched her head. "Well, we wouldn't pay you money, but you would get lots of contributions points. I already sent you some for the upgrade to A. 
*Bleep*! I forgot to send you the voucher for hiring squats! I'm sorry Auntie, the last week was at the same time hellish with the new employees and heavenly because of all the excitement about my rising synchronization!
I'm now at 69% and hit a ceiling. Do you have any advice?"
"Have you tried using different bodyparts?"
Svetlana stared at her frowning. "What do you mean by body parts?"
The printing of the Library-Container finished. 
Flora signaled Lana to wait a moment while she logged into the workshop and looked through her cloud-drive. 
'Where is the Stehaufmaennchen?'
After she recovered the file, she ordered the printing.
She joined Lana and watched the candy cane alike structure being built.
"I designed this tumbler for training my sync. When you hit it, it will bounce back." Flora pointed at the colorful stripes. "You can aim at the blue band with knee, yellow with your elbow. On the top are some smaller dots to hit with your finger. Try it first when it is standing still after that when it is swaying. Don't forget to train to aim with your butt and bosom, as well. You never know when you need fine control in these areas!" 
"That's handy! I saw the tumbler at the forum a view hours ago!
It's a new item in the Cetviwos-Shop. Guess they directly used the rights they bought from you."
"Oh, well. I don't expect much sales from such a simple gizmo." She looked at it. "I could add a feature that gives you challenges, lighting up some of the rings and a body part, and you get points for hitting it correctly. And you wouldn't have to announce the moves to the System." Flora grinned. Yes, she was on a creative fire! "Would you be interested in such a device, or is it too much pressure?"
"My old job consisted of disarming bombs. I'll be damned if a *bleep*ing tumbler pressured me!"
"Give me 10 minutes!" 
Flora logged back into the workshop and took a sip from a mana potion.
'Cables, L.E.D.s, sensors, a display, a mana-plate, and a control box, and we are ready to go!'
First, she put an L.E.D behind every stripe and dot of the tumbler.  Then she sculpted a human doll that looked a bit like Svetlana, marked the body-parts, put lights behind them, and put it at the top of the pole. 
At the base, she installed the display and a big 'Start'-Button.
Then she wired everything to the box. 
Flora realized that it was the first time she had to program a control box. Until now, she had cheated with using the AIs to control the devices.
Thankfully, the programming was more like putting phrases together than actually writing the code: 
Define zone_x: Where the color of the pole is the same in the region of L.E.D_x.
Define bodypart_y: To the lit doll body part corresponding body part of the player.
At Button press:
Light up one random L.E.D_x of group tumbler-lights. 
Light up one random L.E.D_y of group doll-lights.
Wait 5 seconds or until Hit in L.E.D zone_y with bodypart_y.
When Hit: Counter +1.
Show counter.
Repeat 10 times.
When Flora checked the time, she realized that she had only needed 6 minutes. So she added a menu-button and up and down arrows for adjusting the time for the hit and the number of rounds.
Flora rechecked everything, shrugged, and ordered to print it two times.
It was a bit rough, but that was normal for a prototype for proof of concept.

Back in the bamboo hut, Flora found Lana training with the original tumbler and explained to her the game.
When the devices finished printing, they occupied different corners of the hut and started playing.
In the first round, Flora got an easy move: The head of the doll lit up and a stripe near the top. She headbutted the tumbler for her first point.
The next round left her slack-jawed: Left knee to the stripe directly beneath the doll. That was at the height of 1,70m!
Flora to Aidan: "Remind me to make two areas that we can match only the upper body limbs to the high zones of the pole. Maybe implement two game variants, one for gymnasts and one for normal people."
<Power-Jump>!
While Flora hit the pole, she missed the right zone by a hairbreadth. Admittingly a very corse hair, more a dreadlock than natural hair.
The next few rounds went uneventful. Only when the pole wanted from Flora to hit one of the small dots with her elbow, she took another note.
Flora to Aidan: "More mid-sized zones would be helpful as well. Maybe we quarter one of the cylindric stripes at hip-height in rectangles."
After Flora completed the game with a score of 9, she watched Lana finishing her round. Her counter showed 12, but Flora didn't know how many times she had failed. She added it to the improvement list.
Lana's movement looked fluent, and she aggressively attacked the tumbler.  The weird jerkiness was gone, but a bit of skittishness remained.
"So, what do you think? Any suggestions?"
"I *bleep*ing adore it and don't want to stop! But two issues caught my eyes: A finger lit up, and it took me a while to identify which finger because the light spread. The other thing is, I haven't even played five minutes and a quarter of its durability is already gone. My strength isn't that high. If someone with a lot of physical power plays this game, the tumbler will be kaput in no time."
"Good points! The solution for the first one is easy, but I don't know about the second one. Maybe higher-tiered materials?"
"You could try to get it approved as a training-dummy. I know that the requirements are ridiculous because people had exploited it for combat, but you can try."
"Oh, tell me how! I love exploitation!"
"First they made training dummies robots with infinite HP and took them questing as tanks. That got fixed quickly. Then a too clever by a half guild constructed the wall of their compound out of mage dummies. The wall was not only indestructible, but it actually shot spells at the attackers."
Flora laughed. "Great! I want that! Any more feedback?"
"Some of the combinations were a bit challenging, but I liked it. The journey is the reward, right? And without pushing the limits, there is no progress."
"Exactly, but I will implement an easy mode for the beginners. Thank you for testing! I'll send you the finished product as a reward."
Flora to Aidan: "I hope you took notes, she did some excellent testing."
"Oh, yes, no probs! Thanks!" Lana fidgeted. "The topic is hot ATM. I would hurry up the publication. And ... I might stay here for a while, you know." 
Flora smiled and nodded. But first, she went in the corner of the hut and filled up the library container. Although Lana was occupied with the game, Flora still shielded the books from her eyes.
'I'm so childish! I'm sure Lana reads tons of shitty romance novels! And since when do I care what other people think of me?'
The admonishment didn't help. Flora tucked the books away on the last shelf. Not that you could hide 124 books in an otherwise mostly empty library, but she tried.
Flora to Aitoshuri: "Enjoy!"
A fanfare of trumpets sounded, which made Flora smile. She recognized the piece: it was from Bach's 'Jauchzet Frohlocket!' (Shout for joy, exult!).
Back in the workshop, Flora enlargened the hands of the doll. Then she inserted an opaque material on the inside and black contours outside between all the zones. That would help color blind people to distinguish the zones better. 
Methodically, Flora worked through her list until only the dummy issue was left. 
That proved to be simpler than Lana depicted it. Flora just had to draw a rune on the base. The rune made the tumbler indestructible while training, but vulnerable while in combat. 
Flora was intrigued by the concept of runes and immediately bought the book '1000 common Runes and Glyphs'.

After printing one for Lana and herself, she published the design and wrote CentralTank a letter. She offered them to feel free to sell it in their shop as well, for a cut, of course.

After Flora Fluss burns down the kitchen, her son insists she is too old to live alone. She's got two choices. Either move into a retirement home or spend the rest of her life within a virtual reality game governed by society's most advanced artificial intelligence. When you've worked a lifetime as an engineer for home appliances, naturally, you go with the option that has more toasters. 
Soon, Flora finds out that the virtual world is more familiar than she thought. Though, it takes her a while to get used to the idea that tanks don't hold water or oil but the aggro of mobs.

Being someone who goes after what they want l was straight forward that way already at summer break for the holidays also a student at school.

Living in Bluez sunningdale the city had its own perks great shopping malls for make up , great food restaurants to eat and movie theaters it was lively.

My parents were always busy at work  travelling abroad they were real estate buyers.  l had my Aunt Priscilla with me so it wasn't lonely at all and a big house with the expensive interior and upstairs. My life was pretty much simple if you see it that way.

Neil when l first meet him was a hectic winter day at community seminar mixer at the town theatres.

Getting lost to where my lecture seminar for computer science was bumping into him ."Sorry " looking up into his eyes he was intriguing and intense. He was wearing dark jeans and long sweater  "....am a little ....lost to where .....room hall 17 is l have seminar lecture there....." 


Neil "No sweat ,am going to the same place just follow me " that was a relief because l wanted to really pass computer sciences that semester. Following him finding the everyone was still getting seated in the theatre grabbing a seat in the middle row of the room and settling in.

Seated across me was Neil sitting facing forward the seminar starting and putting out my books to write note now where did l put my pen? Green ballpen floats in front of my desk on my books looking upwards to and seeing a smile on the side of his face.

I was so grateful it was his only writing pen he     pulled out a writing ipad for the notes. Countless times of randomly meeting for  example at the music shop reaching picking out the same album .

When you live in the same place you end up knowing each other we became friends  .Officially confessing my feelings and asked him out on a date but got rejected by him. Giving up on something l believed in was so  l thought to give it time.

Since he wasn't dating anyone until other girls noticed him and we constantly asking him out but they wouldn't beat my sophistication anyways.

Everyone to their own devices at the house beauty playing the living room. My Aunt's 4 year year old daughter beautiful and with youthful naivety.

She had fair skin , beautiful brown eyes and a bright personality she was persuasive in getting us treats like ice cream every time we went out. She was an intelligent kid never caused much trouble full of joy and smiles.


Though with youthful naivety she was dangerous apparently she almost set the house on fire ,trying out stolen perfume from her mother's dressing table.It was scary and hilarious at the same time well you know the ending.

Grabbing a firelighter running outside to the backyard highly flammable perfume plus fire equals to an explosion.Uncle Sam thankfully stopped any further damage which was a relief.

Scandal averted she never was allowed in a room with a lighter which hidden away. Brenda and me were about to go into town to see our friends in town.Ucle Sam, charity at home with Aunt Stella and beauty.

Our Ucle was taking us to the bowling alley which was a good change driving in to town.
Bowling l was new to it as well brenda fortunately we would be in a team with our new friends Helena,Mary,Hazel and Tecla were there already waiting for us.

Bowling entrance looking at it as we enter it Uncle Neezbert telling us ,he will come pick us afterwards.

Helena always confident waving at us to meet them full of energy as usual.Mary the preservativist greeting us making the whole group of friends laugh to her usual formalities. Hazel comically laughing that we didn't get lost saying to Tecla engrossed in some new book.


"Finally we are able to meet each other for a fun day " saying Helena." Definitely so we can start bowling , play games and grab something to eat at the food near the mall?" "Let's do that! so amateurs watch as a senior experienced bowling players show you how its done". saying Hazel getting us on the score board registering 6 players 3 on each different team and getting the balls for practice.

Two consisting of two teams me with Helena and Tecla we definitely need an intelligent trump card and we knew Tecla would definitely win. My sister ,Hazel and Mary on the the other team. 


Getting on a new game Hazel's team goes first demonstrating how to properly hold the bowling balls supporting the weight with your hand but not too much pressure putting ease in your palm.Stricking 5 down from the 6 dummies at the end of the path when you place the ballwhere definitely a win.

Therefore the game began mary realing the ball with force hitting 4 dummies a great shot ,Brenda missing for a beginner totally the phase next time.

My team Helena going striking all in 6 dummies down yes! we were winnning for sure.Tecla's turn forcing on the prize ..
1..2...3 and goal in it was a hit 10 points on the scoreboard. Impending doom on my turn to play "you can do this !" telling myself breathe okay here we go grabbing the ball and whoooosh ...Opening my eyes to see 3 dummies down not bad could have been worse?

Ending the game with 110 points on Hazel's our defeat 90 points well if it wasn't for Mary one time strike tripping on the floor to take 6 dummies down suprising everyone we couldnt believe it in suprise after her preservative image apparently she has git some skill and my sister's devastating coming back hit.

Acknowledging defeat the winners so not paying for milkshakes" Next time we will be ready for you guys ! said Helena definitely .
"Keeping dreaming on imaginary like girls ! talking to natural born winners" Hazel . "Just wait and see next time !"

Leaving the mall we go to the mall for something to eat great losers paying for milkshakes next were winning. Choosing seats in the food court we quickly get to ordering 1extra large meat deluxe pizza ,salads,any  drink to everyone's choice , burgers and fries for everyone. In to time at all we get our food.

"Everyone gets a slice of the pizza "Not me !"Brenda saying she didn't appreciate the flour in pizza so she ate everything else. "Otherwise l think we all good , Anyways so have your settled for the holiday " in asking Tecla who was placing her lemonade on the table after taking a sip.

"We have managed to meet new people ,shopping,watching holiday movies still have to go out and do more touring of the town. "Brenda at least you on a full scedule we practically live here used to the place, now we look forward to the town dance" saying Mary. "Really that's interesting is it a formal type of event? me clarifying with excitement.

"Not really a formal event however just dressing up to get yourself a decent date would be one word of describing it" Hazel mentioning sarcastically "Just dress the part and we will be all good ladies! Helena .

"What would really great is to go to Chloe's together and great ready from there ? we can our make up done so much faster? " Everyone listerning to Mary whilst eating half way through their burgers.Tecla "Sounds like a plan all in agreement ?"Yes l am in but we should take about the rides ?Hazel".

 Brenda and me agree as well this would get me to  finally to dance again ,l loved dancing music blasting the room. Finishing our meal we exchange contacts ,leaving the food court.

Getting home after our uncle picked us up in town my facing coming in contact with the bed am out for the night how l got to my room who knows.

A fiber of connection from miles away...



Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

A YEAR AGO BEFORE THE APOCALYPSE

It was an early morning of another new day as Eden woke up in her bed in her apartment.  She blinked her sleepy eyes, looking like she didn't sleep a wink even though she did peacefully since last night. She turned her head slightly to look at her bedside alarm clock and saw that it's the time as the sun rises.

At first, Eden thought that everything she had gone through before was all just a dream but then she noticed the large kitchen knife beside her pillow which she brought and slept with for safety. She sighed upon seeing it and had to accept the harsh reality that what happened last night wasn't a dream. 

She blearily sat up from her bed and stretched herself to wake up clearly.  Then she did a few routine exercises herself to be alert and active for the day since she can still hear from outside the loud noises of continued chaos breaking out, people shouting and yelling in panicked crowd riots, sirens of police and ambulances driving about, and crashes of vehicle accidents going on from outside the apartment building.

She ignored all the noisy sounds outside while she exercised then after she finished, she took the knife from her bed and walked out of her bedroom cautiously as if expecting that someone or something had broken inside while she's been sleeping.

When she checked and saw or heard nothing, she relaxed slightly and then she had a sudden thought and turned one of her light switches to check if the electricity is still running or not.  The lights turned on from her switch and she nodded at this and turned the switch off.

Then she went to make herself coffee which she decided for her breakfast.  While the pot is heating up from the gas stove, she took stock of her food, supplies, and necessities, checking to see how long she'd last if she decided to stay here for more than three days.  She found that everything would last more than about two weeks and she nodded again with satisfaction on seeing this but she's still planning to decide whether she should leave to meet up with the ones she's scheduled to meet for the coming three days or not.

Before the coffee pot whistled, Eden checked her barricade again, making sure it's secure and checked her ready travel bag and weapons and then went back to make her coffee.  She turned off the stove and the gas and then she sat down on a chair next to her desk with her journal still there on the top and she drank her coffee, letting the drink wake her up more and be more active and alert.

But before she could finish her coffee all the way, she suddenly remembered something and cursed and blamed herself for being careless and clueless, there's also not to mention cruel when she finally remembered her family.

Even though they had treated her all her life like she's garbage or made her like a black sheep in the family, she still cared and loved them, even when she left without looking back and just left them a note.

She went and grabbed for her cell phone, dialed and called her family, but every call she had tried to get through went to voicemail or an automated voice said that the person you're calling is unavailable.  Even though she's not getting any answers or replies from any of her family members, she kept on calling continuously until she gets one.

Then she felt like writing into her journal to ease her stress and calm her down and she went and used her free hand to open the book and write while her other hand is still holding the phone.

JOURNAL ENTRY: 8TH DAY, 1ST MONTH JANUARY, YEAR 2XXX

It's Eden and I just woke up with what I thought that everything that had happened the last seven days was all a dream.

But seeing the cruel and harsh reality of my barricaded apartment, my prepared bag and weapons, and the ongoing continued chaotic noises from outside, I had to accept the facts deep down inside me that everything is real and this is all happening right now.

When I made myself some coffee to be more active, alert and vigilant and was about to think and plan on what to do. I had suddenly remembered my family.

I know that most of them were jerks towards me, but I do care about them and I'm sitting here right now by my desk, writing this entry and calling them at the same time.

So far I can't seem to get through to any of them.  I thought at first that the communication lines were down but it's still connecting and I believed that something might've happened to them.

I'm going to continue calling for every one of them until someone finally answers.  I pray that they're alright and by the time they answer and then realize it's me, the first thing I'll say to them is that I'm sorry I left and that I love them very much.

Even if they might hang up on me when they find out it's me, I don't care.  I still love them even if they don't love me, and I just wanted to let them know that I'm okay and that I'm still alive.

I hope and pray that they are.

Eden stopped writing and kept on listening to the automated tone telling her that the caller is unavailable and then discovered that her battery on her phone ran out when she tried to dial again.  She cursed and went to charge it up, along with her portable charger too as long as the electricity is still on and running.

After setting it up and seeing that there's nothing else to do but just wait inside her apartment.  She decided to make an early lunch and eat before she went to thinking about other plans or thinking about something else to do.

After eating her luncheon, then washing the dishes in which the water is also running.  She also went to the bathroom and shower herself to feel refresh.

Then Eden came out, her hair still slightly wet and then she was staring at her makeshift handmade spears thoughtfully before she decided to try and train herself on using them to defend and fight.

In that whole day, Eden is twirling and spinning and jabbing with the two spears she made to practice and train herself to fight inside the locked apartment.  She kept on doing her self-training seriously and continuously until she became completely exhausted.  While practicing with her weapons, she even had some make-shift dummies up, by taking some extra pillows from her bedroom closets and hanged them up on tall stands, placed them in different positions and pictured them as heads when she jabbed and stabbed her knife-end spears at them with the precise aim in both conscious and subconscious moves.

Her fighting technique and prowess aren't very good or perfect but Eden had to make do with what she can do while she practiced all day long until the time passed by fast and it was night already.

Eden was surprised that time flew by so fast when she noticed that it's dark now and she stopped training, placed the spears back but left the stabbed-pillow dummies to where they are, went to shower and bathe herself again before she cooks and eats her dinner.

After doing that, finished bathing then cooking and then eating her dinner and finally ending it with washing her plates, Eden went to her bedroom and brought the same knife again with her and also bringing her journal and pen along in case that she needed to write again.

Her phone and chargers are still charging as the electricity seemed to be running a bit slow and she left them there for tomorrow while she hoped to herself that whatever and wherever her family is, they are alright and fine.

Eden sighed, still not dressed in sleepwear but in travel clothes, in case she needs to leave the apartment again and then lied down on her bed, putting her knife and journal and pen beside her pillow and then went to sleep.  She kept the bed lamp on the bedside table turned on so that she'll know when the electricity goes out.

Her eyes slowly close as she goes into a deep sleep and she's already gone into slumber after being exhausted through the whole day training herself and ignoring the ongoing chaos that is continuing outside her apartment building.

It felt like seconds until Eden had woken up again to another early sunrise of a new day and she sat up suddenly from her bed, went out her room and checked on her fully charged phone and charger, and unplugged them from the sockets and brought them to her room to sit on her bed to check if she had any missed calls or replies from her family. After seeing that there were none, Eden felt like she had to accept the harsh and cruel truth that something did happen to her family and they couldn't answer.  But she still hoped that somewhere out there they're still alive.

To ease her mind off and calm her down from she was about to think of negative thoughts, she reached for her journal that she brought in her bedroom and then writes on it.

JOURNAL ENTRY: 9TH DAY, 1ST MONTH JANUARY, YEAR 2XXX

It's another early morning of a new day.

But so far I haven't gotten through to my family.  I hope they're all right.

My battery ran out and the electricity that was still running is slow when I charged up my phone and my portable charger.

What I did yesterday before was that I train and practiced the whole day with my spears and put up and made up dummies as target practice.  I did it the whole day and I admit I'm not very good at it with fighting back and defending myself a little. But I will have to make do with what I can and as the saying goes, "Practice makes Perfect".

Or rather as someone else might call it - Trial and Error.

Truthfully, I have never done any fighting or defending myself ever in my whole life.  But seeing that the whole world is falling to pieces, I'll have to be brave and man-up if I'm going to be facing the new dangers that had erupted in this sudden coming apocalypse.

The dangers that are the zombies.

I can hear as I write in this journal inside my bedroom the continued sounds and noises of chaos still going on outside the building.  And I knew that the authorities, even the military itself might be trying to mobilize the situation right about now.  But hearing from inside my locked apartment of the continued chaotic sounds of crashing and panicking people, I knew that they won't be able to do much until someone from the higher-ups finally ordered an evacuation.

And that is something that I have to think of for the next day tomorrow. When I'm supposed to meet up with the guys I'm scheduled to meet for tomorrow is the appointed third day.

But I have not finally decided whether I should stay or leave.

What do I do?

Stay or Leave?

That is the most important question in my mind that I have to decide before the final and 3rd day comes for me.

I'll have to stop writing for today and try to get my mind off from this by keeping up with my self-training with my makeshift weapons.

Hopefully, I might be able to finally decide what I should do once I do something else to ease off my stress and try to relax, even while self-practicing or something.

Maybe by tomorrow, whatever my decision is might result in something that won't get me dead.

(Author's Note: This is a fictional story.  It is not based in real life at all.)

Angor returned to his rented lab in The Tributary.
Greya just proved to him that it was fairly easy for wizards to monitor his conversations and actions. To avoid trouble, Angor decided to finish Greya's request in The Tributary, which was located in another dimension.
Angor more or less had an idea about what type of illusion he should make before going to Sleepless City with Sunders. Greya only mentioned two things when she made this request. One, the illusion had to have the "atmosphere" of the Nightmare Realm, and secondly, it should look something new and creative.
Angor was mostly concerned about the second requirement. Earlier, he planned to create a "sandbox" world like the Witch's Town or Nether City while allowing Greya to explore the illusion on her own free will without following a fixed storyline.
But he just got another idea.
He came to an open testing ground near the laboratory, which was mostly empty apart from several striking dummies made of durable materials. This place was meant for wizards to test their spells or alchemy creations. However, Angor had something else in mind.
He wanted to try blending the "Mystery sense" he learned into his illusions. He already tried this once inside Sunders' Gravity Garden, but he was interrupted by Sunders at that time. When Sunders took him to Pocratee, he never found time for this job again.
That was until today.
He wished to see whether he could successfully mix that particular mysterious sense into his illusions. And if he could, he would then attempt to do the same to his alchemy inventions.
When he was inside Spotty, he thought about using the amazing sights he observed to slowly comprehend the concept of Mystery and hopefully become a Mystery Alchemist. But since Greya asked him to make something creative…
Surely "Mystery" was creative enough.
He began his experiment with this in mind.
Once again, he tried his best to recall what he saw and what he felt while surrounded by Mystery energy.
Yet he found it impossible to fully recreate that experience in his mind. Every time when he believed he almost grasped the exact feeling, it would easily slip away.
It reminded him of his childhood. During summers, when mosquitoes were active, these irritating little imps would come to bother him whenever he wanted to sleep. When he stayed alert to slap them, the insects would skillfully keep their distance. As soon as he gave up, they would immediately return as if they could read his mind. 
The sense of Mystery felt similar.
As he recalled, when he was memorizing the sense in Spotty, he would work faster if he did it subconsciously instead of chasing the sense honestly.
Maybe I should just empty my mind and let the unknown sense take the lead?
He closed his eyes and did so.
Soon, the sense of Mystery that was left in the depth of his soul began to emerge as if he were back in Spotty's "stomach" again. He saw different and conflicting laws of nature once again dancing around his mind. 
Slowly, he suppressed all uneasiness and entered into a meditation state.
He went over what he memorized by using his body this time.
It took him an entire night.
When the sun was high on the next day, Angor slowly lifted a hand as a powerful cantrip was made.
The empty testing field went blurry as if there were a wet glass barrier covering it.
Centered around Angor, thick fog spread out and wrapped up everything.
Any apprentice here could easily tell that Angor just used the most basic form of an illusion—mist.
The illusion was well prepared, but Angor kept his eyes shut and waited patiently.
Something else soon followed.
It was wind, which slowly stirred the mist.
"Woof!"
Angor quickly opened his eyes. I did it!
While trying to remain calm, he stood up and carefully approached the source of the noise.
Across the mist around him, he saw a small figure sitting not far from his position. The figure was wagging its tail happily.
As Angor moved closer, the figure stood up and barked at him.
It was not Spotty, not even a dog for that matter. Even though it did look like Spotty.
This was what Angor meant to achieve in his illusion—the "sense of Mystery" he blended into it.
When thinking about the sense of Mystery, he did not know how it would take form in his view until he saw the small figure.
However, he did not understand why the sense showed up as something similar to Spotty. Was it because he had been thinking about this creature recently?
Nevertheless, he successfully created a foreign presence in his illusion, and this would help him further comprehend the Mystery sense he had learned.
The mist illusion was fully under his control, but the creature was not.
He slowly approached the animal and crouched down.
Next, he reached out his left hand and put it on the creature's forehead.
In the next second, the creature scattered as if Angor just poked a bubble. At the same time, an overwhelming Mystery energy was released from the creature's original position. The Mystery energy soon filled up the entire illusion.
Here it is!
Soon, Angor found his whole mind dominated by the amazing energy, which prevented him from thinking about anything other than what was within reach.
He no longer needed to subconsciously draw the Mystery sense from his soul. He could almost see the materialized Mystery energy using his eyes.
This was his original plan, which was to bring the Mystery sense in front of his eyes rather than savoring it using faint memories bit by bit.
It only existed in his illusion, but it was enough for him to further learn about Mystery.
While conflicting laws of nature and unknown enlightenment filled his view, he eagerly began enriching his mind.
Unlike the last time when he was busy "copying" the sense, he was now free to look for what he needed.
There was so much to see. The immeasurable laws of nature alone were mind-blowing enough.
About five seconds later, the Mystery energy suddenly vanished.
Angor was rather shocked when he saw his illusion returning to being a type of simple and plain mist.
But this was something to be expected since he somewhat knew that such Mystery energy meant unconquerable power and wisdom that could not be sustained using his simple illusion. Making it last for five seconds was his limit.
He canceled the illusion and rubbed his forehead, which was beginning to throb.
It was rather draining, but the outcome was good enough.
He would take some rest and try several more times until he got familiarized with it.

Something yelped inside the darkness-infested Sleepless City.
"Woof! Woof!" 
Spotty stood on the pointy roof of a clock tower and was calling toward the direction of Brute Cavern.
Following its voice, Fox glided past the dark sky and landed beside the puppy. "Ah, I finally found you. The herald of Minister Dim has arrived. Dim will get very angry if you don't get back to him in time."
The puppy whined and lowered its head.
"Let us go." Fox picked the puppy up and disappeared into the dark city.

In the fight of Goblin King, He found out that doesn't lack strength at all, he needs more speed if he wants to win against the Goblin King fairly.

As he was resting on the ground, A giant portal appeared in front of his eyes.

"System, Is that the portal that sends me back?"

[No, It doesn't only send you back. You have two choices to choose.]

Entering the portal, he found himself inside of empty space with two more portals. The left side of the portals, I can see the Training Hall of Peerless Sky Sect. The other was nothing but darkness.

'So I could either choose to continue or go back.' He really wanted to continue but he already stayed inside for quite long. He was scared that he will miss the tournament.

Zhen Lun walked to the left side, Exiting this dungeon and returning to Peerless Sky Sect.

As soon as he got out from the dungeon, the portal that sends him back vanishes. Somehow, even though he was appearing out of thin air. The people around him did not get suspicious.

'Did they didn't see the portal?'

Zhen Lun walked up to one of the disciple. "Brother, What date is today?"

"Hm, It's twenty-eighth. Why?"

'Did I stay inside the dungeon for a month?' The day before I went inside the dungeon is also Twenty-eighth.

"I'm sorry but What month is it?" Zhen Lun can't help but ask again.

"Are you crazy? It's XX month. Don't bother me I'm busy." The disciple walked off as Zhen Lun asked such abnormal question.

'No time has passed while I was inside the dungeon?' Zhen Lun was shocked. If only The dungeon has Spiritual Energy to absorb he would've stayed in the dungeon for as long as he wanted.

"System, Can you send me back to the dungeon again?"

Hearing that he was immediately depressed. 'Nevermind, If he knew it, he wouldn't have come out this early.' He sighed.

Since no time has passed, I should visit some bookstore. A day for a breakthrough is too long and I don't have anything to do anyway.

'Wait... I don't have much gold with me.' He has been using the money he has to buy stuff for Little Snow. Right now, He only left with fifty silver coins.

Suddenly an idea hit his head. 'Why don't I learn to write to myself?' If he can't buy books he should create the books himself!

'I should head to the Teacher Pavillion.'

Arriving at the Teacher Pavillion of Xin Hai City, He entered inside immediately, walking towards the reception desk and register himself.

"I would like to become a teacher!" Zhen Lun said to the receptionist.

'What is this young man saying?' The woman that was assigned as a receptionist let out a bitter smile. "Um, you'll have to be at least twenty years old to become a teacher." 

"Twenty? that's too long! Any other method?" Zhen Lun asked.

"Well, you'll need to be at least reach the Transcendental Mortal Realm."

'...In the end, it's the same.'

"Then can I at least buy some books about imparting technique through writing?"

"The books are not for sale but you can read them on the bookshelf there." The receptionist pointed to a room which has a sign of 'Library' on the entrance.

'I'll see if there's quality to it or not first. If there's no quality to it, I'll just give them these silver coins and it should suffice.'

Zhen Lun went into the library. Inside the bookshelves are separated into many sections. He walks to the Writing Section.

Scanning through the bookshelves, he found a book called 'Writing for dummies'. Zhen Lun grabbed the book and opened it.

With such a high-quality book being consumed, It immediately reached Level 9. The knowledge he received was abundant this time that it made his head hurts.

With the knowledge about Spiritual Writing on his head right now, he finally realized something miserable again. It made him remember that he needs more money to write a book.

'I need ink and paper to make a book.' He's back to square one, In the end, he needs money again.

'I'll leave these silver coins to the receptionist.' Zhen Lun heads back to the receptionist and drops some silver coins without saying anything.

The woman was confused by the money that she was given. before she gets to questions him, Zhen Lun left already.

To earn money, he heads to the Mercenary District. There he can earn some money by completing some requests.

Though it can be dangerous with the system helps with determining the difficulty he should be able to keep himself safe from dangerous requests.

Arriving the district, many shady people are seen walking on the streets looking at the requests that people posted on the board, Most of them have killing intent oozing out from their body. They are all cold-blooded killer that kill people for money.

Zhen Lun walks toward the closest board. He went and pick the paper out of the board.

"Oi Brat, You are taking that request?" One of the mercenaries asked. They are offended by Zhen Lun's action. Usually, people carefully read the request and gather information first. This brat came out of nowhere and picked up the most difficult request without hesitation. Picking up the paper meant that you are willing to accept the request.

"No, I am short-sighted. I need to get close to read." Zhen Lun answered. He can't say that he needs to grab the request in order for the system to react.

'Short-sighted? Can you make something better? You are a martial artist with an acute sense of their surroundings.'

'Hm, I'll take this then.'

"Nevermind, I'll take this. Who's in charge of this board?" Zhen Lun asked.

"That guy." The mercenaries pointed to a guy that is sleeping on his chair.

Zhen Lun walks up to him and tapped his shoulder. "I'll be taking this request."

Yawn* "What a nice nap!" The man scratched his eyes. "Which one are you doing?"

Zhen Lun handed the paper to him. "This one."

The man looked surprised for a moment. He then contained his shock and scanned Zhen Lun. 'He's only at Spiritual Tempering Realm. Well, It's fine to let him accept. We only need someone to bait the panther but not actually kill it. With him dead, it'll be good for me too.'

"Brother, Did you know what realm is the Snow Panther that you'll be killing?" The man asked with uncertainty. 

"I don't know. but It should fine." Zhen Lun shrugged.

"Suit yourself. It's not our problem if you die." The man pretended to care about his safety.

He then snapped his finger, two people came out. "These guys will guide you to the Snow Panther. Once you kill the Snow Panther, you leave immediately! Then, you come here with one of the guides to receive your reward."

"Sure." Zhen Lun agreed.

The two people that are guiding him, both of them at Body Harmonizing Realm. Something is suspicious here. but even so, Zhen Lun merely gave him a nod. They then left to see the Snow Panther.

A few minutes into the southwest Forest, They arrived at the place. They went quite deep into the forest that even the temperature of the forest changed.

The weather around this place is cold, as it was snowing. In front of him, There's the snow panther lying on the ground peacefully.

The guides that besides Zhen Lun suddenly yelled. "Ah!!" As soon as they did that both of them ran far away from Zhen Lun.

Because of them making noises the Snow Panther woke up from his sleep. It lays it gazes Zhen Lun who was standing still the entire time.

'As expected, They're planning to use me as bait!'

Both of them are sneaking inside the lake, leaving Zhen Lun to distract the Snow Panther. They are targetting the Snow Panther's treasure, not the Snow Panther itself.

"Hey calm down, You should check your nest! they are trying to steal your treasure!" Zhen Lun tried to persuade the Snow Panther but it doesn't seem to understand him. It was just angry with Zhen Lun for waking him up.

The Snow Panther leaped to him, trying to injure him with its sharp claws.

'Once I deal with this guy both of them are dead!' Zhen Lun didn't dodge the claws. He grabbed Brawling Shield out from his inventory and used it to block Snow Panther attack. With Zhen Lun's superiority in Strength, He wasn't knocked back at all.

'It's true that you're as strong as Goblin King but your health is quite low compared to the goblins!'

Executing Double Slash with Bronze Sword, Zhen Lun immediately killed the Snow Panther.

The two of them has finally gotten the treasure. They stored them in their back and prepared to leave as quickly as possible. Until they saw a man blocking their path.

"You're not dead?" The man was shocked.

Zhen Lun didn't answer his question. Without showing mercy, Zhen Lun chopped their heads off from their neck in a single slash. 

"Of course not, A mere Snow Panther won't kill me."

Both of them died without realizing what happened, Leaving their lifeless body on the ground.

Inside their bag, he found some golds and a valuable herb. Zhen Lun wasn't familiar with herbs. With the help of the system should be able to find out its details.

'Since The Snow Panther is protecting it. This herb should be worth some golds. I should auction it and see how much it worth.'

Zhen Lun didn't forget to store the corpse of the Snow Panther, a carcass of a mythical beast does worth something. Their bones could be used in concocting pills and their flesh can be eaten to restore vitality.

Zhen Lun opened his character menu, turned out there are ( + ) and ( - ) besides STR, AGI, and INT. 

Sadly, he can't assign his stats to the most overpowered stats, LUK.

In the fight of Goblin King, he found out that didn't lack strength at all, he needs more agility if he wants to win against the Goblin King fairly.

Zhen Lun assigned all of the points into his AGI.

As he was resting on the ground, A giant portal appeared in front of his eyes.

"System, Is that the portal that sends me back?"

[No, It doesn't only send you back. You have two choices to choose.] 

[You should go inside the portal yourself]

Entering the portal, he found himself inside of empty space with two more portals. The left side of the portals, I can see the Training Hall of Peerless Sky Sect. The other was nothing but darkness.

'So I could either choose to continue or go back.' He really wanted to continue but he already stayed inside for quite long. He was scared that he will miss the tournament.

Zhen Lun walked to the left side, Exiting this dungeon and returning to Peerless Sky Sect.

As soon as he got out from the dungeon, the portal that sends him back vanishes. Somehow, even though he was appearing out of thin air. The people around him did not get suspicious.

'Did they didn't see the portal?'

Zhen Lun walked up to one of the disciple. "Brother, What date is today?"

"Hm, It's twenty-eighth. Why?"

'Did I stay inside the dungeon for a month?' The day before I went inside the dungeon is also Twenty-eighth.

"I'm sorry but What month is it?" Zhen Lun can't help but ask again.

"Are you crazy? It's XX month. Don't bother me I'm busy." The disciple walked off as Zhen Lun asked such abnormal question.

'No time has passed while I was inside the dungeon?' Zhen Lun was shocked. If only The dungeon has Spiritual Energy to absorb he would've stayed in the dungeon for as long as he wanted.

"System, Can you send me back to the dungeon again?"

Hearing that he was immediately depressed. 'Nevermind, If he knew it, he wouldn't have come out this early.' He sighed.

Since no time has passed, I should visit some bookstore. A day for a breakthrough is too long and I don't have anything to do anyway.

Arriving at the Teacher Pavillion of Xin Hai City, He entered inside immediately, walking towards the reception desk and register himself.

"I would like to become a teacher!" Zhen Lun said to the receptionist.

'What is this young man saying?' The woman that was assigned as a receptionist let out a bitter smile. "Um, you'll have to be at least twenty years old to become a teacher." 

"Twenty? that's too long! Any other method?" Zhen Lun asked.

"Well, you'll need to be at least reach the Transcendental Mortal Realm."

'...In the end, it's the same.'

"Then can I at least buy some books about imparting technique through writing?"

"The books are not for sale but you can read them on the bookshelf there." The receptionist pointed to a room which has a sign of 'Library' on the entrance.

'I'll see if there's quality to it or not first. If there's no quality to it, I'll just give them these silver coins and it should suffice.'

Zhen Lun went into the library. Inside the bookshelves are separated into many sections. He walks to the Writing Section.

Scanning through the bookshelves, he found a book called 'Writing for dummies'. Zhen Lun grabbed the book and opened it.

To earn money, he heads to the Mercenary District. There he can earn some money by completing some requests.

Though it can be dangerous with the system helps with determining the difficulty he should be able to keep himself safe from dangerous requests.

Arriving the district, many shady people are seen walking on the streets looking at the requests that people posted on the board, Most of them have killing intent oozing out from their body. They are all cold-blooded killer that kill people for money.

Zhen Lun walks toward the closest board. He went and pick the paper out of the board.

"Oi Brat, You are taking that request?" One of the mercenaries asked. They are offended by Zhen Lun's action. Usually, people carefully read the request and gather information first. This brat came out of nowhere and picked up the most difficult request without hesitation. Picking up the paper meant that you are willing to accept the request.

"No, I am short-sighted. I need to get close to read." Zhen Lun answered. He can't say that he needs to grab the request in order for the system to react.

'Short-sighted? Can you make something better? You are a martial artist with an acute sense of their surroundings.'

Zhen Lun walks up to him and tapped his shoulder. "I'll be taking this request."

Yawn* "What a nice nap!" The man scratched his eyes. "Which one are you doing?"

Zhen Lun handed the paper to him. "This one."

The man looked surprised for a moment. He then contained his shock and scanned Zhen Lun. 'He's only at Spiritual Tempering Realm. Well, It's fine to let him accept. We only need someone to bait the panther but not actually kill it. With him dead, it'll be good for me too.'

"Brother, Did you know what realm is the Snow Panther that you'll be killing?" The man asked with uncertainty. 

"I don't know. but It should fine." Zhen Lun shrugged.

"Suit yourself. It's not our problem if you die." The man pretended to care about his safety.

He then snapped his finger, two people came out. "These guys will guide you to the Snow Panther. Once you kill the Snow Panther, you leave immediately! Then, you come here with one of the guides to receive your reward."

"Sure." Zhen Lun agreed.

The two people that are guiding him, both of them at Body Harmonizing Realm. Something is suspicious here. but even so, Zhen Lun merely gave him a nod. They then left to see the Snow Panther.

A few minutes into the southwest Forest, They arrived at the place. They went quite deep into the forest that even the temperature of the forest changed.

The weather around this place is cold, as it was snowing. In front of him, There's the snow panther lying on the ground peacefully.

The guides that besides Zhen Lun suddenly yelled. "Ah!!" As soon as they did that both of them ran far away from Zhen Lun.

Because of them making noises the Snow Panther woke up from his sleep. It lays it gazes Zhen Lun who was standing still the entire time.

'As expected, They're planning to use me as bait!'

Both of them are sneaking inside the lake, leaving Zhen Lun to distract the Snow Panther. They are targetting the Snow Panther's treasure, not the Snow Panther itself.

"Hey calm down, You should check your nest! they are trying to steal your treasure!" Zhen Lun tried to persuade the Snow Panther but it doesn't seem to understand him. It was just angry with Zhen Lun for waking him up.

The Snow Panther leaped to him, trying to injure him with its sharp claws.

'Once I deal with this guy both of them are dead!' Zhen Lun didn't dodge the claws. He grabbed Brawling Shield out from his inventory and used it to block Snow Panther attack. With Zhen Lun's superiority in Strength, He wasn't knocked back at all.

'It's true that you're as strong as Goblin King but your health is quite low compared to the goblins!'

Executing Double Slash with Bronze Sword, Zhen Lun immediately killed the Snow Panther.

"Next will be you guys!" He glared at them. The guides that ditched him are busy picking the treasure of Snow Panther.

The two of them has finally gotten the treasure. They stored them in their back and prepared to leave as quickly as possible. Until they saw a man blocking their path.

"You're not dead?" The man was shocked.

Zhen Lun didn't answer his question. Without showing mercy, Zhen Lun chopped their heads off from their neck in a single slash. 

"Of course not, A mere Snow Panther won't kill me."

Both of them died without realizing what happened, Leaving their lifeless body on the ground.

Zhen Lun looted their body to see what kind of treasure did they picked from Snow Panther.

Inside their bag, he found some golds and a valuable herb. Zhen Lun wasn't familiar with herbs. With the help of the system should be able to find out its details.

'The Snow Panther is protecting it. This herb should be worth some golds. I should auction it and see how much it worth.'

Zhen Lun didn't forget to store the corpse of the Snow Panther, a carcass of a mythical beast does worth something. Their bones could be used in concocting pills and their flesh can be eaten to restore vitality.

After having accepted the quest, he looked through the window of the carriage, unknowingly, he fell asleep and woke up when the carriage was going through the gates of the Capital City, due to the law, they had to leave the carriage to enter the City, as he stretched, he left the carriage and started looking at the City.

There were 4 streets, in those streets were numerous buildings, most of them were shops but some were inns, wandering in the city, Grimsky and the royal family walked in the direction of one of those streets, Grimsky looked around and found out that most of those shops were related to Adventurer, one could buy healing item, weapons, equipment and other kinds of items important when going out in the wild could be bought within those shops.

They quickly reached the gate of what seemed to be an inn, looking at its exterior, it was probably a rather prestigious one too, entering the inn, they were greeted by a woman who asked them if they had a reservation, nobody spoke as someone in the group just handed a small plate to the woman, she took it and gave it back to the person who handed it as she said,

"Your rooms range from the rooms 300 to 306. We wish you a safe stay in our Imperial Inn"

After having heard that, the group started walking toward the stairs as they went to the third floor, while walking up the stairs, the King spoke to Grimsky,
"Grimsky, your room shall be the 306th. Be sure to rest well as the first round will start tomorrow"

Grimsky only nodded as he didn't really care about the number of the room, he already knew that only the floor of the rooms mattered, that's what he had read on a small board on the first floor. Simply, the higher the floor, the better the room, the rooms starting with the number 3 being the best. Nonetheless, Grimsky was still surprised that they had gotten a reservation in the best rooms as the competition was going to start, there should probably be a lot of people that had made reservations in inns.

As he entered the room, he was surprised to see how spacious it was, simply, this room was twice the size of his training room back in the manor of his family, and this was just the living room, the bedroom and bathroom were smaller but still had the same size as his room, he was also surprised to find out that it was extremely easy to wash himself as he just had to put a bit of mana into the tub before heated water would start generating automatically, he considered destroying the tub to understand the mechanism behind that but he quickly discarded this idea as he went back to the living room, he opened the closet that had a small sign next to it that said, 'Training Utility'.

Opening it, he was surprised to find a room, it seemed that this inn didn't have the same definition of a closet as he did, he took out 2 swords, one made of wood, the other made of iron and multiple dummies made of metal. He put down the Iron sword as he went into attacking stance with his wooden sword, when he had reached [Sword Apprentice], he quickly stopped using the previous stances he had been taught as every stance he used would be twice as effective as it seemed that he became a natural at Sword holding.

He was a few meters away from a Metal Dummy as he started gathering Fire Mana into his sword, he then slashed in the air as an arc of Fire was thrown out toward the dummy, the Fire seemed to be quickly dissipating right after it was thrown out of the sword as only an invisible arc was left, as it hit the dummy, it got destroyed and didn't even leave a mark on the dummy.

Grimsky sighed as he was still unable to control the Element to stay within this mana arc after being thrown out of the sword, he was also disappointed as he was still unable to use wood to damage metal, he then took the Iron sword and slashed again, this time, an extremely sharp arc was thrown, it seemed to be cutting the air as it quickly rushed out to the dummies that were put in a line after the arc made contact with the first dummy, the dummy immediately got cut in half, the arc of mana seemed to be unaffected as it rushed through the second ... The third... The fourth... The fifth, finally the arc seemed to be slowing down as it became slower and slower, finally dissipating after cutting the seventh dummy.

Being sure of the limit of his sword, he took another set of dummies, this time, before slashing out, he used his finger to write something on the sword, 'Strengthen', this was normally something that one would use to strengthen their body but after becoming a [Sword Apprentice], the sword was akin to a part of his body and he could now use this word as a way to make the sword stronger when the word was finished, it started emitting a bright light as it disappeared, Grimsky didn't see any change while waving around the sword, finally, he slashed out, this time, the arc cut through 9 dummies before dissipating, this result made Grimsky understood that his guess was right and that Word Magic was akin to Inscription except that it didn't need any support to show its strength, yet, the effect wasn't permanent as he felt his mana was being consumed at a slow rate, Grimsky stopped the effect of the Word Magic as he started practicing writing in the air.

Progress was slowly made while Grimsky was thinking about how to use this new skill in battle, having found a way, he stopped practicing and went toward one of the many dummies that were cut in half, he wrote the word 'Explode' on one of them before activating the word, he felt a small amount of his mana being consumed as the part of the Dummy where the word was on got exploded, Grimsky, with his perception found out that the size of the explosion was exactly the same as the size of the word 'Explode', he wrote it again but this time the word was bigger than before, as he activated it, he saw a larger amount of mana consumed and the explosion being bigger.

Finally, he went back to practicing his [Mana Control] as he finished his experiment, he knew what to do now, he'd simply have some projectile with the word 'Explode' written on it, he'd then throw it at his opponents before activating them, directly hurting his opponent, obviously to what would happen, Grimsky didn't prepare any for the competition as he didn't believe to be defeated, he simply continued his training, even during the night, with [Fatigue Tolerance], that wouldn't be a problem, he also didn't mind being fatigued for a day.

It's a revamped version of 'A Descendant to God', the story will be similar but I'll try to change it to make it what I wanted 'A descendant to God' to be but I dropped it before this happened so that doesn't matter. [Also the release rate probably isn't going to be stable, just posting when I feel like writing (which is why the release is always random, that's because that's the moment of when I finished writing it)]
PS : The MC won't technically be the same person at the start and at the end of the novel.

Daeva after bumping with Juno, she thought that her behavior wasn't so nice. But when the school bell rings, she snapped out of it and went to her designated room for her subject. Daeva is a fourth year college student in Literature and Creative Writing. She thought of becoming a writer to write literary pieces based on her experiences. Also, she thought that becoming a writer would allow her to have a small chance of interacting with people.

When she was about to enter her room, her Professor bumped into her. Mrs. Sanchez smiled at her. Daeva greeted her good morning and Mrs. Sanchez greeted her in return.

They both entered the room and Daeva sat at the second row. Mrs. Sanchez greeted her class and began discussing a lesson about her subject. She kept blabbing in front while Daeva glanced at the window. She caught a glimpse of Juno who's about to leave the school gates. As she follows Juno with her eyes, she began to feel a sharp pain at her left forearm. She didn't bother looking at it, she knows that it's currently bleeding so she just pulled her black sleeves lower. She returned her attention to her discussing professor and listens to her.

A couple of subjects passed then Daeva's lunch break arrived. She quickly ate at the cafeteria before going to the library. The school's library was enormous. It's also where the book club is rooming. Daeva is a member of the Book club and happens to be a good friend of Kevin, the Book club's president. When Daeva came in, she found Kevin fixing books that weren't returned to the proper shelve. She just picked up some books that were left at the tables and did the same. There weren't too much people in the library for now so she started casually chatting with Kevin.

"Hey Kev, you seem frustrated... What's wrong??" asked Daeva.

"Student School Council Vice President...She destroyed my morning." said Kevin casually.

"What did she do to you?" Daeva felt curious.

"Oh nothing...She just shuted me out... refusing to do some student council duties...or simply take the proposal and leave it to miss President's table... That's all..." Kevin replied.

Daeva didn't asked further what happened...But then, she felt like the person who she bumped with earlier at the hall way was the Vice President.

"The Vice President, was she the campus belle I keep hearing about." Daeva asked.

"Hmm? Yeah, that's her...Why, what's up?" asked Kevin as he finished arranging the books.

"I think she's the pretty blonde girl I bumped with this early morning. She wasn't really polite." Daeva said as she scratches the area where she felt pain while staring at Juno.

Kevin saw Daeva scratched her forearm right bellow her palm. He looked at Daeva with malicious intent. His lips curved up at one side. He then grab Daeva's hand and brought her to the school's clinic. Daeva didn't resisted and just followed Kevin.

The nurse was currently out of the clinic so Daeva's forearm can be treated. She pulled her sleeve up and let Kevin treat her wound. Kevin cleaned the blood off and covered it with bandage. When he was done, Daeva thanked Kevin and they came back to the library. 

There, while Daeva was waiting for her next class like Kevin, they decided to read a book. Daeva picked a random fantasy book while Kevin opened his laptop and read about demons.

"Let's go home together later and just order pizza for dinner, what do you say?" Kevin offered to Daeva.

Daeva just nodded, it's not very often that they go home together. Daeva and Kevin are roommates and oftentimes, Daeva gets home first before Kevin because of his club president duties.

Almost an hour have passed and Kevin closed his laptop. It's time for his next class, Daeva still have over half an hour before her next subject so Kevin just left her. When Kevin left the library, the atmosphere in the library became gloomy. Anyone who's in there felt uncomfortable, some left but some ignored it. Daeva is feeling a bit irritated but what can she do? She can't get rid of them...never...

Daeva kept reading until its just 15min left before her next class. She stood up from her sit and returned the book into one of the shelves. She felt a hand caressed her cheek and hear a chuckle. Daeva ignored it and left the library.

When she's out of the library, she can feel that someone ran "its" fingers on her hair. Her mouth was twitching, slowly forming a malicious grin. She covered her mouth with her hands, then, she took out a face mask from her pants's pocket and covered her grin. She went to her next class as if nothing had happened.

She still have 2 subjects left for her to survive. Her 3rd subject for the day passed as if it was a filler chapter of her day. Nothing very interesting occurred nor the class. But on her final subject of the day: Creative Writing, the class was given an activity and that is to write a poem. The poem have no specific theme but should be rhyming.

Writing poems weren't a problem for Daeva at all. She doesn't limit herself when it comes to writing and its subject. She writes what's in her mind and what she feels. They we're given an hour and when they were done, they are then dismissed. Daeva finished after 30min, she's always the first one to finish. As she passed her work and leaves the room, her professor Mr.Wilson gave her work a read.
