Fukuda Yuuma is just a normal college student who often goes to different conventions when he has free time. At one convention that features a new anime releasing next season, he accidentally bumped to a beautiful girl that was almost familiar to him. Who is this girl he met at the convention and why all of a sudden, a pack of crowds surround them both in a convention?

Jono was sulking miserably at Gray's side while Gray kept intentionally asking the escort he was given about the advantages of VIP over the others.  This was one of the few times that Gray really had the one up on Jono so he was taking his time to rub it in.

"Oh, so I can go ahead of people with value, normal, AND advanced passes!" said Gray smiling while eyeing Jono to see if he could get his face to explode from jealousy.  Felicia, the gorgeous female escort and attendant, felt it was quite amusing to see these two bicker so she was glad to bestow any information about the VIP pass and emphasized how it was superior to the others.

"Yes!  AND all of your snacks and beverages are included so eat as much as you want all on Alterra Corporation's dime!" said Felicia smiling while also giggling slightly watching Jono start to look a little green even.

Eventually they did stop teasing Jono as he started to go numb and talk to himself so they figured it would be a good time to stop messing around.  Felicia finally ended the teasing by adding "Oh, and your suite can be used by you and up to 3 friends, no matter what level of pass they have!"

This last part was meant to offer some consolation to Jono and Gray considered riding his high a little longer but after seeing Jono's puppy dog eyes he caved and said  "Dude, I was planning on letting you come already, don't give me that look, it's grossing me out"

Felicia guided Gray and Jono to a large hall with a stage in it that was used for the larger events and took them up an elevator that Gray had to use his VIP pass on to get it to operate.  Along the hallway was 3 rooms, Felicia led Gray and Jono to the second room and led them in to their suite.

"Wooowww…" Gray thought to himself as he looked at the interior of the suite.  Inside was a fully automated kitchen on one side and a full bathroom and den on the other side.  The main interior contained an ornate kitchen table made out of real wood.  Wood was a luxury in this day and age with virtually no free land mass to support huge forests anymore.  Outside of the room a sliding transparent door led to the balcony which had 4 large cushy chairs, each big enough to easily hold two people if they didn't mind sitting next to each other.

Felicia strutted in front of Jono and Gray and pointed out the various amenities for them and left a holoboard on their kitchen counter that they could order the food from a high quality chef AI.  She opened up the door to the balcony and swept her hand out over the balcony saying they had one of the best views available.  Jono was relieved at the bathroom and immediately excused himself since it'd been awhile for him.  Felicia sat down in one of the cushy chairs on the balcony and folded one leg over the other seductively as Gray was peering over the railing out of curiosity.  Gray turned around and saw Felicia looking at him with both of her arms out on each arm rest while her legs were crossed causing Gray to feel a bit nervous.

"You must try these seats, they are made out of the most comfortable sea foam that scientists have been able to genetically enhance" Felicia said charmingly while stroking the arm of the chair she was in.

Gray thought it was getting a bit warm in there but sat down regardless and felt himself sink in just a little bit as the chair really did feel like a gentle embrace as it supported all of him comfortably.  "Um, it's a little too soft, are these adjustable?" Gray asked.

"Indeed it is, let me show you."  Felicia got up from her chair and leaned over in front of Gray's chair, she reached out with her right hand and touched a small slider under the arm and swiped her finger towards the front of the chair and Gray started rising in the seat as the chair became firmer, eventually becoming as hard as plastic.

"Wow, that's amazing!" said Gray.  He was really tempted to play with it of course because it was something new to him and who doesn't love playing with new things!  Felicia sat down beside him on the now firm chair, much to Gray's surprise.

"You have to be gentle with it, or it will break…"  Felicia said extremely seductively while looking at Gray.  Gray got extremely shy at this point and wasn't sure what to do and absent-mindedly swiped the slider towards the back of the chair all of the way.  The chair become soft and cushy again and even more so than before.  Because of the softness, the chair sagged slightly in the middle causing Gray and Felicia to slide into each other causing both Gray and Felicia's face to get bright red.

Naturally, Jono opens the door and in a panic Gray jumps up suddenly causing Felicia to fall on to her side.  Jono sees Gray standing there not looking at him as Gray is pretending to continue to admire the view while Felicia's face is a little red from before while she's lying on her side on the chair.

"Oh, Ms. Felicia, if you were tired, we could've taken a rest before." Jono said unknowingly thinking that she was lying down to rest.

"O..Oh, I'm fine I was merely showing Gray how to adjust the softness of these chairs and I accidentally slipped a little when it went soft…" said Felicia

Gray couldn't help but think "Good thing the chair isn't the only thing that went soft."

The three of them returned to the main hall of the game conference and Felicia had said that she needed to attend to other matters but she gave Gray her direct message number in case anything else came up.  Jono asked for it too and as one last rib on Jono, Felicia stated "What for?  You're not the VIP" causing Jono to cry a little on the inside.  Felicia laughed softly then returned to the security office near the front of the banquet hall.

Gray and Jono visited a few booths for other games, Gray went mostly to check out the upcoming games and Jono said he did the same but he was drooling at one of the female models in cosplay attire and not paying attention to the actual gameplay itself.

Gray had developed a theory about these sorts of conventions, the prettier the model, the worse the game.  A great game would sell itself and not need eye candy to draw people to it.  Naturally the large booth setup for Alterra Online was packed with people.  It seems that if you picked up a code from the Alterra Online booth, you could get an exclusive mech decal.  While this sort of thing really wasn't important to Gray, he did like to at least collect as many freebies as possible.

When the staff at the Alterra Online booth saw his VIP status, one of the attendants came out to greet Gray.  "Sir, may I scan your ID badge?"

"Uh, sure" replied Gray.

After scanning Gray's badge, the attendant looked down at his holoboard and then said "Oh!  You are one of the members of 'Enter Team name here'!  For having one of your team's fights being selected in our promotional video, you and all of the other members of your team will each gain 1000 merit points!"

Gray's eyes went wide because this was really a large sum at this time and would bring his and the rest of the team up to 2270 merit points each except for Stacia that had 1470 merit points due to purchasing a Juniper SE.  He figured it would be best to hold on to it for now though as their Diamond-tier mechs would finally be usable the day before the official launch.

The attendant handed Gray a holoboard that had the promotional video playing and said "If you would like, we can add your name and team name to the video in the places you're used to promote your team instead of just listing it in the credits."

Gray thought for a moment and said "Eh, sure, why not."

Gray watched the video from start to finish and had to admit that although it was a sloppy fight against their first opponent, it sure looked flashy, especially when you Yurika's mech stormed out of the forest with her submachine guns blazing.

After finishing the video, Gray had to admit that some of the matches they picked were a little odd, but it also did show that one could have fun in Alterra Online aside from blowing away the other team.  He actually thought it was hilarious that one guy actually started picking up rocks, trees, dirt, and even his own weapon to throw at the enemy when he used up all of his ammunition.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.  Still, I am impressed with the level of realism as I never would've thought one could pick up the terrain like that and use it as a weapon as a last ditch effort."  Thinking about the realism further, Gray really started to consider utilizing terrain for future matches on the maps that were large enough to do so.

While thinking further, the lights in the entire conference dimmed for a moment and a loud voice boomed throughout the venue.

"Ladies and Gentleman, the Alterra Online promotion will begin in 10 minutes, please find your way to the main hall!"

A hundred years from now the Earth is now reduced to several domed cities after the last war raised the temperature across the planet thus raising the sea level.

"You knew my grandpa?" Jin asked, and the entire group nodded their heads, and their smiles did not betray the memories they had with him.
"Not as well as our big boss here, but we also had the pleasure of being under his wings before he officially retired." Chen Lai explained and already recall all the old times which Ming whipped him and the others up to shape.
"We knew he had a grandson, but he wasn't one to share too much about his personal life. We never knew the whole story until Hou Fei told us about it. Looks like you did not have it easy when you are young too." Kan Jian said, but the dungeon supplier could only smile, withholding any comments he had about his childhood.
"Still, this is quite a surprise. I never thought to see a dungeon supplier embracing those old ancient ways. Even the Royal Dungeon Suppliers are all about the latest technology and gadgets to increase the realism of dungeon instances." Chen Lai tried to change the topic to a more positive one.
"Yet we experienced first hand how intense it can be with Jin's. Those Royal Dungeon Suppliers could not hold a candle to him if they were to meet up in the National Dungeon Symposium." Boon Tiong commented, and the other colonels voiced agreement.
"That is assuming we can keep the peace here by succeeding with our assignment, else you can kiss goodbye to any major conventions." Hou Fei emphasised, and his brothers in arms turned more solemn. "Jin, I have already relayed your report to my men. Still, they would like more information if possible."
"Heh, to think our new friend here is also a Demon Exorcist, let alone the upcoming Branch Manager of Shenzhen still continues to blow my mind. Sorry, General for not picking up this particular information. Our team should be reprimanded." Boon Tiong who was in charge of information collecting apologised publicly to the entire group for not getting the intelligence that Jin had collected.
"It is not entirely your fault. Dongguan and Huizhou are not exactly our jurisdiction anymore, and the Border Guards like to play punk because of that, saying we have no rights to interfere with their defences anymore. The Tigers are also a rather prideful bunch of people, but hey they at least bowed their heads just enough to let us come in to assist them." Hou Fei told Boon Tiong to hold his head up.
"I am honestly confused with all these…it's yours and mine thing." Jin blurted out, and the rest chuckled. For a moment they had forgotten that despite all of his accomplishments, he was technically just a civilian.
"Even though our clans hold a few territories and guard them fiercely, the government puts the Royal Clan's Military branches in rotation to protect each and every region equally. This is to ensure fairness among the clans and also to cross audit each other in case they are doing something nefarious like corruption or planning an uprising." Kan Jian explained.
"We rotate about every three years or so, and for our battalion, the last position we've been stationed in was Dongguan. From this year onwards, we will be in Shenzhen. The Tigers' military recently moved out of here and will be going into Huizhou." Boon Tiong added.
"You okay with me knowing all this?" Jin asked and Boon Tiong shrugged his shoulders.
"As an upcoming Branch Manager, I am sure it's fine for you to know. It's rather common knowledge despite it being classified to the public." Boon Tiong exclaimed.
"So, does that mean the Border Guards are in a way blaming you guys for not taking responsibility, and that is why you got called to go into battle?" Jin asked for confirmation on what he had just learnt.
"Not quite. We know the lay of the land better compared to the Border Guards because we actually trained in the forests and mountains. They are only responsible for wall patrols to ensure no dangerous monsters emerge out of them. If one tries, they would subdue and call the military to go in and find the source of mutation." Hou Fei explained.
"The situation was not as bad when we began moving our bases in November. We nearly lost a few troops, but they were able to locate a nest and destroy it. We thought the ruckus was over. Yet during the transition in December, we received reports that there were more of those nests." Chen Lai revealed.
"Yeah, and because of the transition, we hired some private contractors to get the job done and informed the Border Guards to increase the security until we were done moving the bases. Only later in the middle of December, at the request of the Royal Horse Battalion, did they demand the Snake Battalion to come and finish up the job." Kan Jian grumbled.
"They are the ones stationed in Dongguan now?"
"Mmhmm. The Royal Horse clan always used its position to exert influences on all other Royal Clans because of their economic output and overall property value. But when it comes to combat, the Royal Horse Battalion is a joke. It's where all the softy, useless, snorty officers have assembled and their troops are such asses." Hou Fei cursed as he munched on his food, albeit a little angrily.
"Someone offended him before?" Jin asked, and the rest nodded their heads with a sigh.
"A lance corporal had the guts to badmouth our General here in public. Instead of receiving some form of disciplinary action from their officers, the Royal Horse General concurred to his soldier and let him off. If you were to do that such a thing in any other battalion, the offending party would receive punishment immediately because we respect rank rather than clan." Boon Tiong stated as he drank some juice to wash off the bad taste of that particular incident.
"Then why help them?" Jin asked as if he was thinking if they were giving the battalion some favour.
"We aren't." Hou Fei replied with a stern voice. "We are helping the Tigers instead. If the Royal Horses are so great, they can defend that place with the dirty money they have."
"But not everyone in the Royal Horse Clan is horse shit, Uncle Hou Fei." A female voice intervened in the current conversation when she opened the door to their private room.
"Sorry to tell you all this late, but I invited her as well since she was the one who wrote the report." Hou Fei's expression changed when Su Zhen came into the room while giving a quick wink at Jin. He had secretly turned to the System channel and told Jin that the System allowed him to bring her in.
The rest of the army officers casually greeted the Great White Snake Demon Exorcist, and she waved at them... except for Jin. She bowed slightly in front of the dungeon supplier before sitting right beside him.
"Heyyy… why the sudden courtesy towards me." Jin felt very awkward, and the others laughed.
"Because you are her big boss, you idiot." Hou Fei pointed out as he called for the waiter to bring in more pancakes.

When Qiang Shen finished talking, his parents and his friend were shoked, they could not believe Qiang Shen was telling them, but seeing his face, they knew he was not lying.

Sorcery is magic based on enchantments.

Racial magic is almost extinct. Thousands of years ago, there were different races in this world, elves, dwarves, fairies, ogres, sirens. Those races now extinct at some time were combined with the human. An example of racial magic is in singers who have managed to captivate the masses through their voice, that characteristic was only of the race of the sirens.

Spiritual magic is where magicians use their spirit to manifest it and even use the power of the gods to perform them. The rituals enter into this magic.

All classifications are measured in degrees or levels and there are up to nine levels in magic... "

Sect's Three Great Conventions that everybody had awaited for was finally here.
The meeting process had been posted, all the students knew, today was the competition of alchemists, thus they already went to the outdoor square behind sect's mountain early.
A high tower was temporarily built in the middle of the outdoor square, with a furnace on top. The viewing platform surrounded the outdoor square, with a platform at the front for the chairman, the height of the platform was higher than the temporary tower. 
When Sima You Yue dragged both Han Miao Shuang and Su Xiao Xiao, Fatty Qu and companion were already seated at the viewing platform. Seeing 3 of them walking in, Fatty waved to them.
Sima You Yue brought them up, with the seats reserved for them.
"You guys are late, if no one was reserving the seat, you guys would have to stand downstairs to watch."
Sima You Yue smiled, "I knew you would reserve the seat for us. If we came earlier, there'd be nothing for us to do."
Han Miao Shuang saw over ten thousand people in the outdoor square, with the viewing platform almost full, and there were still half of the people standing downstairs.
"So many people!"
"This is my first time seeing such a magnificent sight in the sect." Su Xiao Xiao sighed.
"Senior, have you never attended before?"
"There were Three Great Conventions when I joined. But I didn't attend it at that time, and I wasn't in the sect. So I have never seen it before." said Su Xiao Xiao.
"Three Great Conventions only happen once in ten years, Xiao Xiao only joined eighteen years ago, so he never really attended before. " Han Miao Shuang continued, " Usually people who are closed, close themselves off, those that are outside, will be outside. They only get together when there are Three Great Conventions."

There's a rule in the inner sect, that regardless of occupations or identity, one can only stay here for up to four hundred years. After four hundred years, once will automatically be considered as a graduate. 
At this point, all the alchemists in competition drew a slip of paper from two boxes, revealed the paper to teachers at the side, and walked to the front of the corresponding furnace.
"Are they only allowed to use the furnace prepared by the sect?" asked Fatty Qu when he saw Bei Gong Tai and Ou Yang Fei also drew a number and into position.
"No." Han Miao Shuang said, "These furnace's aren't of good quality. Students can prepare their own furnace, or they can use other's too. In fact, very little people will use the furnace prepared by the sect. The furnace will be kept by the teacher later."
"In that case, why does the sect prepare furnaces for them?"
"It is a tradition passed down from generation to generation."
When the students enter the square, a few teachers will come in together and pass by them, asking if they want to use their own. If the student says yes, they will keep the sect's furnace away, then students can bring in their own.
Like Han Miao Shuang said, most of the students chose to use their own furnace, only a few keep to the sect's furnace. 
And for the two front rows, nobody went up.
When the preparations were done, Mao San Quan walked in while leading a group of teachers in as they sat at the platform.
The teachers stood side by side, cleared their throat and started talking to the students about the sequence of events. It started with the importance of Three Great Conventions, then rankings and more. Then, they followed up with the arrangement for the next few days, and lastly, the rule of today's alchemy contest.
"This year was divided into two rounds as usual. First round is to refine the medicine assigned by the sect, the second round will be free play. The first round will be ranked according to the workmanship of the medicine and the time spent, grade six will be lined up behind grade seven."
"Round two will be free play. Within a fixed period, the medicine you choose to refine will be judged by the sect's teachers based on workmanship."
"The final result will be ranked based on both results from the two rounds. Now, the alchemy contest will officially begin. "
"You'll find a remedy below the table, same for grade six and seven. There are three materials on the table, you have two hours to study the recipe, three chances to refine it. Start now."
The alchemists took out the recipe from the drawer and started studying it.
Han Shuang Miao cut in front of You Yue saying: "I heard from Jiang Jun Xian, this sect's competition and alchemy contest's rule is almost the same, it will probably be the same for us."
"Did Eldest Senior know about this?"

"Beast Tamers don't have such contests, but the other occupations do. Master only focuses on alchemy, and doesn't focus on the other contests, so I'm not sure." Han Miao Shuang said, "Instructor Mao should know. Why are you asking?"
"I just thought of it so I was just asking." Sima You Yue smiled.
Previous generations of Ximen's family never had an outstanding Alchemist and Armament Master, so she wasn't familiar with this. This question just occurred to her, since they were all powers that belonged to the mainland, since they had pill battles, other professions should have similar forms of competitions as well.

* WHAT ARE OLD CONVENTIONS ?

Old Conventions are the beliefs which have already been set over the period of years in the minds of the 'Readers' and the 'Authors'.

Examples include, 

01.  The Hero and the Demon Lord – The Hero, either one or multiple, always arrive from a real, non-fictional world with no magic or any supernatural power, while the world that they arrive in contains some supernatural or fantasy elements. The plot may be different for different novels, but the convention remains that the Hero and/or Demon Lord are at the center of the world, i.e. the plot of the entire world revolves around these two existences. 

The convention here is that the Hero or the Demon Lord are pure fighters in a traditional sense. (Even the Hero in the light novel "Realist kingdom Hero Reform Chronicles" < I forgot its name> is an 'administrative' fighter in a sense).

02. Xianxia and Xuanhuan Cultivation novels, where the primary focus of the entire series is on the fights, and how the Protagonist acquires various skills, etc. These Protagonists have fixed jobs, like a cultivator/ fighter, alchemist, and blacksmith. Basically, these guys do highly technical jobs with ease.


* WHAT IS BREAKING OLD CONVENTION ?

Breaking old convention means to make your Protagonist walk through unconventional paths.

Examples include,

01. Various Japanese light novels and web novels with the Hero template. Japanese light novel authors have broken many conventions over the traditional Hero and Demon Lord convention, and now we have novels like 'Rise of the Shield Hero' with and Anti- Hero Protagonist, 'Realist Hero's Reform Chronicles', where the summoned Hero only has administrative cheats.

02. The masterpiece 'World of Cultivation' by Fang Xiang where we see a very non-conventional Protagonist and even more non-conventional fights- while almost every Xianxia novel describes only the growth of the Protagonist, World of Cultivation breaks convention by introducing fights among armies made of cultivators.


* HOW TO BREAK CONVENTION ?

It is very easy to create a plot which breaks conventions, which is to make your Protagonist do jobs one usually wouldn't expect.

For example, 
In a Hero setting, the Protagonist can create an Adventurer's guild so that he wouldn't have to fight against the Demon Lord. Or maybe he could become an arms dealer, and enjoy his life rolling in loads of money while watching the two factions fighting against each other.

In a Xianxia setting, the Protagonist can be a journalist controlling all media in the world, using all kinds of cultivation technology to create and spread news. Or maybe he can be a person whose business is to create AV (Adult Video a.k.a Porn).

Note that in majority of these novels, there are hardly any characters around whom the entire plot revolves.


* PROPOSED IDEA

Following is the Idea being proposed :

01. The world follows a Xianxia setting, with the usual gimmicks.

02. The cultivators are majorly of two types : 

     (01) Swordsmen (or those who use a weapon, to develop 'essence' of their weapon).
     (02) Body Cultivators (who cultivate their bodies to become strong and indestructible).
     (03) Spell and Formation Cultivators (traditional cultivators who use magical spells and use formations).
     (04) Alchemists and Medicine Masters
     (05) Blacksmiths and the like.

03. The social hierarchy is mentioned in their decreasing order i.e. the Swordsmen have the highest status in society because of their attack power while the Blacksmiths have the lowest status because they are easily replaceable.

04. The four have the following innate advantages :
 (01) Swordsmen – they have the strongest attack power.
 (02) Body Cultivators – they have the highest defense.
 (03) Spell Cultivators – they have variation in their moves, and can coordinate attacks and defenses of a group. They also have high movement abilities.
 (04) Alchemists study how to prepare various medicines, while Medicine Masters study the various diseases and healing techniques. The difference between them is that Alchemists concentrate on optimizing the process of medicine creation, while Medicine Masters are like the doctors of the world.
 (05) Blacksmiths, etc – These people create weapons, armors and low level gadgets. The gadgets can be mechanical parts of carriage, or radio device, cannon, ship, etc.

05. The Protagonist belongs to a clan of puppet makers, and have a business of creating puppets for various purposes. However, puppets are considered an unorthodox path and looked down upon.

06. The Protagonist enrolls in a school where students follow orthodox paths of swordsmen, body cultivation and spell cultivation.

07. The rest of the plot is to be extended by the respective Author.

08. The selling point of this idea is in one major point – "The Creation of Life !" The puppets in the earlier chapters can be displayed as mere weapons, and as tools to create humorous situations. Eventually they would slowly develop instinct and intelligence, and eventually become sentient.

09. The previous point is important because any good web novel always has three points : creation of something (techniques, skills, weapons, spells), management and strategy (founding and managing a clan, sect, business, kingdom, empire), and warfare (fights between the Protagonist and/or his faction and others).

10. The Protagonist will eventually rise to become the father/mother/progenitor/creator of the Puppet race, and the puppet path will become an orthodox path.

11. The plot has a lot of scope, because as this is a Xianxia novel and not a Sci-fi one, the Author get easily get away by spouting b*llshit to explain how the Protagonist was able to create robotic arms, drones, armed airships, and an army of Terminators. It is relatively easy to explain technical things in Xianxia world.

A few days later, Lord Mano called everyone into the meeting hall for a couple of announcements. Mano looked around the clan's meeting hall, all his wives, as well as his children, were present. 

"I've gathered you all here because the Clans Convention is about to commence. I will be gone for six days, at the least. I'm placing Lady Jaelah in charge of the household until I get back." 

Whenever he would leave for the convention, something always happens.

One year during the six days he was away. One of his wives decided to have a ladies tea party. Everything was fine until another one of his wives also decided to have a brunch party on the same day. Both wives didn't tell the other. With madams showing up for both sides things started to get a little hectic. 
One of the ladies from the tea party walking to use the restroom, happen to overhear women from the brunch party talking about her. Not one to take gossip about her lightly she confronted those women. Chaos ensued, things were broken, and words were said. When he returned he was lucky to have a house to come back to. Since then, he has been ever weary of leaving for long periods at a time.

Lady Jaelah frowned at this arrangement. She has always been the one to go with Mano during these Clans Conventions. Meeting the other ladies and gentlemen of the high class was honor she looked forward to. The only time she wasn't able to go was when she was pregnant with their children, or feeling ill.

Everyone knew the Clans Conventions wasn't just for the clan heads, they were also for the spouses to make connections. The reason she's been able to push Kamryn and Lulu so far is because of the connections she made with other households. 

Last year she didn't get to go because little Lady Thalia wined to Mano about the unfairness. Now one of Thalia's sons is a counselor to the courts and the other one is one of the youngest generals in the army.

Lady Jaelah will never admit that Lady Thalia's sons just might be gifted enough to hold those positions. 

"With the children star-"

"Mano No!..." Lady Jaelah interruption caused the whole meeting hall to fall silent. Seeing that she let her emotions get the best of her Jaelah try to remedy the situation. 

"Excuse me?..." Mano knew what caused Jaelah to shout, but that doesn't mean she can undermine him. Especially in front of the family.

"I mean I can't possibly be the one to care for the household since I will be going with you to the Clans Conventions,...did you forget?" 

Jaelah words were delivered smoothly and with a burst soft laughter, but held a hint of authority. Like she was telling Mano she was going to the Clans Conventions, not asking.

"You are not going this year." Mano's retort was short, domineering and straight to the point. 

Some of the wives gathered in the room enjoyed seeing Jaelah pushed down two pegs. 

Cause she was the first wife, Jaelah forever thought she was better than the others. Looking over the fact that in their society, the head of the clan can have as many spouses as they wanted; but all the spouses would hold the same status in the family household.  A wife was a wife, whether she is first or last.

"Mano!.... You have to take me, there is no other option! You didn't take me last time...." Pointing in Lady Thalia's direction. While the other members of the family were shocked, but relishing the show Jaelah was putting on. ".....now you think to once again replace my spot with another!..." Jaelah stood up at this point looking around the room at the other wives. Turning back towards Mano, " I REFUSE! I AM GOIN-"

*BOOM*

Lord Mano released a third of his power into the meeting hall, directing the majority of it straight towards Lady Jaelah. Her knees buckled beneath her. Her face broke out in sweat and tears, her bones felt like they were disintegrating into dust.

The members of the family in the meeting hall felt the weight of Mano's oppression. Though it was only a fourth of what Jaelah was feeling it still caused them shortness of breath. The younger ones like Mika could barely hang on. 

'There's always one person who ruins it for everybody.' Mika though as she was about to pass out.

"Ma...Man... Ma...Mano...I sorr...sorry. I...I did..didn'"

"Still won't shut that mouth of yours." Mano lifts he head that was resting on his hand, to look at the surrounding hall. 

"This is not your old family's home. This is the Amara clan. My Amara clan. I am head of clan here, not you." Turning his gaze back to Lady Jaelah direction.

"I...kno..know."

"Oh...you know and still think the question me." Mano let loose a little more of his power towards Jaelah. At this point Jaelah was laying flat on the meeting hall's floor, everyone else was clutching their chest.

"I give you the respect you deserve as my spouse, just like I do all my other wives.....but just because I let somethings slide, does not mean you are HEAD OF THE AMARA CLAN!..." 

In that short shout, Mano released the rest of his powers, like a whip it slashed at their bodies before withdrawing it away.

 "I and only I will decide who will be a successor. Who will accompany me to the Convention... Is. That. Clear. To Everyone." Mano looked around the room, to a chorus of "yeses" and nodding. 

Mano walked to the doors of the meeting hall, "Good, meeting adjure"

Henan smiled to look at her father.
"My Queen, should I make a change in the codes of conventions and mention there the new laws to avoid any future qualms," an old man who was responsible to write the codes of all conventions stood up, conventions were the laws of the kingdom Shang.
He was carrying his papers where he wrote the conventions and this was saved with the Palace authority.
His hands were slightly quivering with the old age and usually his servant took this burden of papers but now the matter was different.
He took the feather and ink and sat on the table ready to write the new amendment.
"Hold on," Zhong Xing stopped the old man.
Queen looked at him little surprised.
They all were thinking that he wanted to reconsider it.
"I wanted to let every girl learn the Martial Ways, and in future if my daughter wanted to learn it too, I will send her in the Huangshan Mountain to learn from the golden masters," he calmly stated. 
The writing feather from the hands of the old man fell on the ground, he was flustered and it was possible that he might jerk down the ink too. 
Few who were sipping on the tea, spurted out the mouthful and splattered on others, making themselves embarrassed too.
The impact was quite strong but they feared to show it openly.
"Every girl have rights to protect herself and it will also strengthen the family," Xing spoke while looking at the Queen.
"We have to let our girls learn it either they will be abused by the stronger," he looked at the Court and swept his gaze over the ministers, officials, Faction Lords, experienced or newly recruited, young and old, he also looked at the soldiers and the servants those were serving in the Court.
His voice carried authority and his presence brought sense of danger, indeed, he was emanating strength to force these brains, he was at the last level of the Martial Ways where one could force compel the air around to carry his power and transubstantiate in surrounding.
No one dared to look up in his eyes and repudiate his spoken words.
His daughter was able to servive because someone taught her few ways to protect herself either the number of dangers she faced to reach him, she must have died halfway through.
This convention could bring revolution in the whole structure of the kingdom's foundations.
Or it could bring a disaster?
They were thinking out of the lines.
If they said yes and accepted this convention then they would be responsible to apply this convention in their areas of authority and if they refused then they have to face the wrath of this General and until now he was unpredictable in their eyes.
Xing thought it thoroughly before bringing it up, it was necessity of the society and it was compulsory for the kingdom to take such steps.
He don't fear that he would lose his respect from some so called powers those were running provinces.
It was responsibility of the officials to advertise this convention in an effective way that could rationalize the people in better way.
"Zhong Xing, I fear people would decline this convention," Queen spoke after analyzing the air of the Court.
"Only a fool would decline the priority strength of his family," he knew the people in this Court and the common people, common people listen to them obediently and if they were given some rewards, they would never disregard this convention anymore. 
He remembered his brother who wanted to throw out his newborn girl because he thought he would only waste food in raising up his girl and lost his money when he would betroth her with some male, he prefered to have a male child.
But when he found money pouch and since Xing dropped this thought in his mind that the girl was lucky and he would be rich soon, he loved his daughter more than his sons.
Henan was looking at her father, this was a big decision and the implementation of this convention would be tough.
If this convention was spoken from someone else, the calm atmosphere of the Court that was presently surprisingly controlled would have gone on rampage.
She was now familiar with the mind set of the most of families around in cities as well as villages.
It was a big step from her father's side.
"It will be hard to convince common people," Queen spoke with another concern. 
Xing brought up his sword, the sword was heavy enough to carry for a single male not to mention what would happen if one was said to wield it. 
"Whoever minister, Faction Lord or official failed to implement this convention in his areas of authority would have to face this sword," he tightened his grip on the sword, it was direct threat for those who wanted to support the concern of the Queen. 
"My Queen, I the Crown Prince of Shang Kingdom support this convention," Wan Hu Shang stood up to express his support. 
The right hand Minister stood up to support this convention, it was nerve pulling decision though. 
Few neutral ministers stood up as well. 
Xing looked at his daughter, 'Every daughter have rights to celebrate their life without any worry of protection,' he thought in his mind.
"Father, I am feeling exalted," Henan dabbed her wet eyes.
She only thought that her father wanted to stand for his daughter, but to see this bigger picture which was unexpected, she was feeling exalted, her father was ready to stand for every daughter. 


With a different identity, she has entered in the enemy Kingdom. She wanted to bring back Wan Hu Shang. The Crown Prince is ignorant about her real name and identity. 

He invited her to live in his Palace for a month and celebrate the Event of Winter since she saved his life from the angry crowd of wild sambars. 


The time comes and she is able to reach Wan Hu and free him but she herself got trapped by the enemy and fell in his personal prison.

the group wanted to follow me so i walked to the boss area where elite tier wolves are lurking. with my current status, i can move anywhere as long as there are no slimes. soon they gave up.


although i wont be attacked by wolves and other monsters. theres a lot of limitations. first i cant mine ores or harvest herbs. i cant even pick up items that fell from players. im invincible but all i can do is to tour this virtual world.


well since ive got time to think about my situation. vr games have started 50 years ago, year 2120. the only difference is the realism level. it started at 30% until today's game with 95% realism.


over the decades more and more are becoming addicted to playing vr games. at this time 70% of the worlds population are playing vr games. thats why all corporations and even governments have invested in a vr game.


with all the attention to vr games over the years, many ordinary people like me have tried their luck in making money through new vr games. if not for the new world law* that made it impossible for a person without a diploma to sell anything in-game then i would have tried to become a pro-gamer years ago.

*world law - it started in the year 2143 when vr games have become a problem. kids dropped out of school and played games all day, making a living by selling some items. all governments have agreed to pass several laws that will be applicable to every country and kingdom.


i walked outside the wolves hunting area and just kept on walking without any particular direction on mind. the game is beautiful. with a 95% realism it feels like being transmigrated to another world. i never had the chance to appreciate its beauty before.


i walked for days ocassionally stopping to enjoy the view. sometimes i would simply sleep anywhere and no one would bother me. by the time i heard the system reminder of a forced logout for overstaying in the game, several days has passed. upon checking the time, theres still an hour before i finished the basic newbie survival challenge.


upon leaving the capsule, i ate instant noodles, took care of personal things and then slept for a couple of hours. when i woke up i checked the forums about the random pet reward. what i read surprised me.


the random pet reward upon not dying for ten days upon entering the game is garbage. it only gives slimes and tiny skeleton soldier. it looks like a 3 feet tall skeleton with a dagger. the bad part of it is that the experience gain of these pets are really low. plus they can only gain experience if they made the killing blow. the only good thing is that these pets sell for ten gold coins in any npc merchant.


almost everyone, except those weird people and those who likes slimes and skeletons, sold their pets. another reason they sold their pets is due to the fact that you can only have one pet in-game.


i logged in with the intension of selling the pet as soon as i got the reward. i totally forgot that im currently in a high level area several days from the nearest newbie village.

battle alchemist assistant slime - slime that can absorb effects and grant it unto the owner or an item.


this is a lucky pet. i explored its capabilities and its wonderful. when i pour health potion on my pet slime it becomes able to heal instead of corrode using its acid. i tried placing an arrow in my slime after it absorbed a healing potion and it gave my arrow a healing effect.


what i liked the most about this slime is its potential to increase my strength. i allowed it to absorb a ring that grants a +1 to speed. then i ordered it to transfer the "+1 speed" to me. and my stat permanently increased by 1.



as long as i obtain many stat enhancing item then ill become invincible. of course its useless since i cant fight monsters for a few years while the penalty is active.

peter was a beta player in the newest virtual reality game. his plan is to take advantage of a few bugs he failed to report. that way he will gain lots and lots of money. what he didnt know is that each beta tester has a dedicated a.i. that is reviewing their every action. the a.i. has long since reported the bugs and the main a.i. has already fixed them before launching the game.
peter tried his best but he is only an average player who got lucky when he was picked as a beta tester. without the bugs he doesnt have any advantage that he can use to earn money.
having sold everything to invest in the game, he is pretty desperate and in a fit of drunken anger he emailed the owner of the game company with a pages of insults.
unfortunately for peter the owner has made a special code in the game. he owns an item that can make one player lose a level everytime he kills a monster. and he used this to peter's game character.
how can you ever hope to play the game  when you lose a level everytime you kill a monster?
