To cultivate means to go against the law of the world. 

This sentence was what Ran believe in his whole life. 

He was born lonely and fragile and the only thing that keeping him alive is the old novel that he luckily found from a trashcan.

After reaching 15 years old his body nearly gives up from hunger and pain, but for the unknown reason, someone lends him help for the first time.

A soldier dies in combat trying to save a comrade. He wakes up in a new world, but hes not alone. He is joined by several others who had experienced a similar situation. They are called lost ones. The new world is overwhelmed with monsters, but humanity has developed abilities to help. some have enhanced speed or strength. Some have regeneration abilities that are out of this world, and others, like our main character, are what are called espers. They have a connection with an element, and their abilities develop around them. Our soldier has a rare off shoot of the death element called vampirism. No, he is not an evil son of the knight who preys on humanity. This is his story. This story contains violence throughout, some sexuality, and strong language. It was a matter of moments for Duchess Wynne and her people to prepare to return to Talahm. Spatial storage helped. But they hadn't been carrying much, to begin with, when they had been forced into the Dungeon. What little they had had; they were forced to stretch or supplement with items and resources they could scavenge from CERN.


The Sithern had helped alleviate some of those concerns. It was capable of growing the food that would sustain them, still; they were still forced to forgo meat; the Sithern hadn't come equipped with herd animals or livestock. Additionally, the Knockers had been instructed not to kill any of the Earthlings that inhabited the dungeon, nothing that might alarm or alert the dungeon's denizens. Although CERN humans had no magic, they did have weapons of iron. And with Wi-Fi technology, the enclave that had access to the rest of the Planet could access a plethora of those iron weapons.


If battle began, it would be a protracted, messy affair, even without the Dungeon mechanics of respawn.


The Sidhe would be forced to use powerful spells that would all but destroy CERN if iron weapons were brought into play and deployed. It had been decided that the humans were far more useful as captives, slaves that could be transported through the portal, where their expertise could be used. Additionally, the few that had been killed early had only dropped jewelry and electronics, not much else, and nothing that couldn't be scavenged without killing or alarming the CERN security forces.


The lack of meat was a problem. Although some Sidhe were not averse to eating sentient beings, the Knockers were not part of that group. But the vermin and wildlife that were trapped near the Sithern entrance were only able to provide the minimum requirements. That no real Hunter was among those Knockers stranded only confounded the problem.


Knockers were legendary tinkers, so most of Duchess Wynne's people had been deployed as collectors and researchers. Spies that had accumulated electronics, mostly computers, laptops, and cell phones, and found unique ways to tinker with those devices. Experiments that had resulted in Wi-Fi adapted and able to be powered by magic.


But this was not their primary concern, they were meant to gather information. And CERN made the collection and transportation of knowledge straightforward. Entire libraries were downloaded and stored on flash drives. The sum total of man's knowledge saved to CD and readily transported to Talahm.


There were less than fifty members of the Wynne House when she and her people transitioned. No adolescents, no one that had not ascended. Duchess Wynne's daughter had been the youngest member of the group, and even she had reached her majority. It was one of the reasons they were searching for fresh lands.


They wanted to put down roots and build a thriving community. She had been chosen by the Knocker Monarchs and given permission to search out fresh opportunities for her and her people not long after Ranking up to Duchess. But finding unspoiled or unclaimed Land was formidable, even discounting Seelie and Unseelie factional disputes and squabbles.


She had begun to wonder if the Knocker Monarch had meant to reward her new Rank or punish her. One less Ranked to be concerned with while on a fruitless search for a place to claim. Whatever the reason, it had turned out to be a journey filled with dire repercussions. Most of their wealth was lost. Her daughter was taken, made hostage. And she was forced to deplete her magics to create a Sithern that was born crippled.


Magic that could never be replaced. Sidhe who gained the Rank of Duke were not capable of forming a fully functioning Sithern. By making the attempt, she had been forced to channel her entire House's magic to ensure success, burning out those channels of creation that dealt with Sithern construction in the process. Her only attempt, a desperate bid for safety that had succeeded, even flawed as the Sithern had been, it had been enough to provide food and safety.


The Volar-Fey that remained were responding to the imminent closing of the Sithern in a most unusual fashion. They were spinning individual cocoons, entering hibernation, as they settled in, deciding to remain within the safety of the Sithern.  A Seed would soon form and they would be part of that Seed. They would need to draw on some of the stored energy while waiting for the Sithern to regrow, although the endosperm that would be created was steeped in both magical and divine energies, that energy was finite.


There would be enough stored to nourish both the Sithern and the colony of Volar-Fey. I did wonder if they would metamorphose into new forms after their cocoons opened but thought it unlikely. They were already winged and beautifully colored. It would be hard to improve on the perfection that they had already achieved in form and function.


Perhaps they would be able to increase levels or Ranks as part of the transitional process they were being forced to endure. Something to worry about after we had returned to Talahm and I had found a place to locate and plant the Sithern seed.


"I would like to stay together," I informed Duchess Wynne choosing to focus on the now and leave the future to care for itself. And the immediate concern was ferrying these people back home.


"I know we are all capable of opening an individual teleport to the Summerlands, but would we enter in the same general location?" I asked.


"Unlikely," Wynne informed me, "Individual teleports are created based on the bio-feedback, level, and Rank of the individual. This would mean that they won't transition into lava pools if they are not capable of withstanding the heat. And they also won't find themselves transported into heavily trafficked areas by beings that can kill them easily.


"Plus, you know how the Summerlands can mess with time. If we all entered separately it is possible, we would be translocated across time as well as space. Each of us arriving at a different when as well as where.


"Ranked Lord and above are able to open Portals that allow saved locations to be shared. These areas are usually pretty benign. Temperate weather, not many native life-forms, and an environment that is endurable for a wide cross-section of Sidhe."


"Has your research into Wi-Fi technology altered those conditions in any way?" I wondered.


"The variables have all remained constant. The only effect we have been able to identify Wi-Fi has on Summerlands concerns permission protocols. Anyone in possession of one of those devices can ignore the prohibitions for passage," she answered.


"We haven't been able to study if the environmental and bio-feedback protocols are tested before passage. That was being studied elsewhere. I would hazard to guess that the restrictions and safeguards are still in place. I am sure if the Portals opened using Wi-Fi meant travelers were dropped into pools of lava, I would have been informed if only to find a solution.


"There was too much excitement, too many demands that we scavenge and collect Wi-Fi-capable devices, for there to be any real danger, at least nothing that wasn't easily resolved."


"There are going to be some very surprised individuals soon," I said thoughtfully.


I was certain System has already plugged that work-around. I wonder if any non-Sidhe individuals that are in the Summerlands when that fix is hard-coded will remain stranded there or if they would be ejected as a waste product. I admit that the picture of Olympian and Asgardian shit piles being ejected from the Summerlands was personally satisfying. OK, I gloated and shared a meme of what I was picturing with Caraid. The image I projected of a few Olympians and Asgardians being shot out of the Summerlands as piles of excrement surprised a laugh out of Caraid.


"To be safe, we probably should exit the Sithern before you claim and encapsulate it," the Duchess suggested. "I think we would be safe, simply moved to the surface entrance, but I'm not positive. Sithern's are fiercely protective and might decide it's better to store us in limbo until it can be re-seeded."


"There are no other native people? The Volar-Fey and your House are all that are residing here?" I asked realizing it was something I should have worried about earlier.


"Yes, no one else. If you had come earlier, you would have run into the Seelie and Kelpie team that visited periodically, those tasked with collecting items and information. We had started to become concerned when they missed their last scheduled rendezvous. We weren't certain what had happened," she said.


"It was probably scheduled about the time that Lord Kel and Lady Patricia were discovered to be Olympian stooges and removed. Lord Haygan had to have had some warning that things were amiss. They were not surprised at Blayney's reappearance. And Lord Haygan remained inside the Elder Lodge, instead of confronting or welcoming Kelpie that had intruded on his lands.


"You should claim the Sithern after we exit though," Duchess Wynne suggested. "I placed the core as close to on top of a ley-line as I could, I knew it would need the energies, but I wasn't sure that was enough, and I didn't have the resources of Divine energy to fully actualize a mature being.


"You may find connecting and claiming the Sithern takes more energy and attention than you would expect. Especially if you are going to have to supply the additional 'nourishment' required to finalize the matured construct. The Sithern must be fully adapted before you can have any hopes of moving its location."


Her suggestion made sense. I decided to accept her advice, as well as monitoring the Volar-Fey in relation to time. Only once the last of them had entered hibernation and would be protected and enfolded within the depths of the Sithern Seed would I consider it safe to proceed.


In the meantime, I had the Duchess move her people to the entrance. We still weren't sure what was going on between System and Earth. The System announcements had been informative, the elderly, and children, how advanced the rebuild and zone configuration had progressed didn't give information on the zone level we would find outside the Sithern.


I thought it possible that CERN would be transformed as a cautionary tale for Earth's inhabitants and become a local dungeon. The seed for that design was already in place, easily repurposed by System while re-ordering an entire World. Seeding beasts, resources, and expanding land-masses. Sometimes the path of least resistance was beneficial. Why bother creating a different dungeon when one already existed?


Finally, the last of the Volar-Fey entered sleep, and I was ready. Opening my System messages, I scrolled to the one the I needed.


[CERN Sithern has adapted and wishes to bond with you, do you wish to claim the CERN Sithern?
Warning - Failure to claim Sithern may result in Sithern destruction.]
[Yes/No]


Selecting Yes, I'd barely made my choice when new information exploded, information directly downloaded into my head. As I tried to process the new information energies began transferring between the Sithern and I. Moving back and forth creating a loop, the bond working towards establishing an equilibrium that was equitable for both.

I wasn't so much claiming the Sithern as I was becoming the Sithern. No. That wasn't exactly right. I wasn't becoming the Sithern, more I was giving a part of my essence, joining with the Sithern to finalize the creation of a new and stable life-form. My identity, my desires, merging with the Sithern's imperative to provide shelter and safety.

Creating something new.

Death is not the end.  But actions do have consequences and based on how you lived your life, second chances are possible.  

I was given a second chance.  I could choose how to reincarnate, who to be, and what Universal constants would impact my next life. 

Who wouldn't try to game the system and take all the advantages possible?

And when I learned that creatures of mythology, the ancient Gods; Olympians, Asgardians, Sidhe, lived and ruled, how could I resist?

This is a slice of life type novel that deals with RPG elements including System, Leveling, Politics, Transmigration, and Killing.

Know that the Main Character may experience setbacks and 'nerfs' as part of the narrative.  An MC that always wins is boring!

Sam startled awake at the sound of a door slamming. Her corona spread out as she sat up on the recliner. Heart beating, she verified that the door was still blocked. The door had belonged to another apartment; no one was walking in on them while they squatted.

She leaned over to slap a comatose Jess on the temple. "You hungry?"

"Ow, stop that. Yes, I am hungry. Not enough to sit down with evangelists again. Seriously, why are there still religious people after the stars changed and humans showed up speaking English? How much proof do people need of the simulation theory before they stop with all the praying?"

Sam moved the desk away from its spot barricading the door. "The more open-minded people ditched church when things started getting all sci-fi. Only the true believers are left."

"And they're living their lives in an echo chamber," Jess said.

"Isn't that what we all try to do? Hang out with people who agree with us?"

"Point taken. I did agree with you about being hungry. Juice me up with some precursor."

Sam provided the requested charge, straightened up the room, and they flew down to the street level. Within minutes, Jess had found a small restaurant with limited outdoor seating. "There we are. Eat out here and disappear before the bill comes."

"So we can screw over a small business owner? Or worse, the waitress. Nope."

Jess rolled her eyes. "So you're a champion of the little people now? Or just until you remember that your dad owns a shopping mall?"

"My mom was a bartender before she met my dad."

"So a long time before you were born, one of your parents worked for a living prior to marrying up."

"Shopping malls are dying, Jess. My dad might be able to coast for the rest of his life, but I'll have to be a working woman."

"Malls can't be doing that bad. You guys bought a Tesla last year."

"In case you hadn't noticed from all the screaming matches my parents have, my dad sends money out without the slightest consideration for how fast it comes in. Trust me, you're going to inherit more than me. Two Sacramento software engineers with retirement accounts will leave behind an actual legacy."

"Don't forget a quaint bed and breakfast business in wine country," Jess said. "Anyway, I think a small business owner can afford to give away two free meals."

"I don't want to steal anything. I can sell enough precursor to buy two breakfast sandwiches."

"And coffee," Jess said.

"Sure."

"And maybe we could borrow a phone to call home?"

"Not yet. If you called home, then I would have to call home, and I'm not ready to have that conversation yet."

"You are ridiculous. I bet you parents still don't know you were failing out of college before you left."

"What am I supposed to say, Jess? 'Hey, guys, I'm flunking out of the biology program at a community college. I think I might try business instead.' No thank you."

"Well, now you have superpowers. They can't criticize that."

"Give me another day of peace. Please."

Jess pointed at a McDonald's. "It will cost you a McMuffin and a coffee."

There was a line of people out the door. Sam cleared her throat. "Could you be the saleswoman?"

"Seriously?"

"You like talking with strangers."

Jess huffed away from Sam but was almost immediately chatting to two asian guys sporting backwards baseball caps, gold chains, and fitted t-shirts. Had Sam not known better, she would have thought Jess ran into old friends. She crept forward until she could hear what was being said.

"I am a hundred percent serious right now. We're the flying chicks. We came out to help with the New York stuff, but by the time we got here, our boss was already gone. Dumb us, we didn't bring our purses in the big rush and now we don't have any money to buy breakfast. That's why we're making a one time deal. Twenty dollars gets you temporary superpowers. It will only last about ten minutes, but it is awesome, guys."

The skinnier of the two snickered at the proposition. "Right, sure. We believe you."

Sam extended her corona and pulled the man's hand into the air against his instinctive resistance. His jaw dropped. "Twenty dollars?"

The universe is a strange place.  First the stars in the sky began to change, twinkling out to be replaced by stars identical to the sun.  Then an alien fleet appeared in the solar system, decelerating without obeying the laws of physics.  None of that prepared the world for what was to follow when the aliens revealed themselves to be English-speaking humans.

The booming sales that corresponded to the sales of techniques were the civilian products invented by the crab people —— mechs. They were equally popular, both screaming hot sales to the point where the supply was inadequate to the demand. 
Approximately a year ago, the other party began their attempt in exporting high-intelligent mech pets to Earth. Ever since they received favorable reviews from important businessmen, they began to increase export volumes and quickly replaced the position of pets in the past pet market.
One did not need to worry about their eating and sleeping habits, vaccination issues, them ruining your home, not needing to spend on expensive pet food, and one would still be able to enjoy the privilege of raring pet animals such as cats, dogs, and birds. 
Moreover, dogs and cats that were merely consumers and saboteurs in the past now had various functions such as acting as guide dogs, collecting parcels, cleaning houses, calling the police, and carrying out emergency first-aid. 
The problem of stray pet animals that had existed for a long period had naturally disappeared along with the development of science and technology, just as the food and clothing problems.
The crab people's Foreign Trade Association was currently discussing with the people on Earth the issue on exporting high-intelligent mechs for the civilian use. It was just pending approval. 
That was because everyone was worried there might be ethical problems. Intelligent cats and dogs were one thing. After all, smart dogs and cats were often shown in films and television works.
However, if ther were intelligent mechs that were comparable to humans, many problems would surface.
Although the civilian version was not approved, the military version had been introduced straight away, even with conditions of transferring technology and production lines attached. 
As for goods that the crab people required, they naturally asked for all sorts of techniques and objects that could be used in cultivation. 
On top of that, they were like humans on Earth ten years ago, learning how to walk by taking little steps like toddlers. 
However, at this time, different voices sounded. 
In the Land of Inheritance, at the Cultivators Assembly. 
"Those who don't belong to my clan surely have a different heart. We must block the cultivation trade with the crab people otherwise we'll end up training new competitors for ourselves," one of the white powerhouses suggested generously. 
"If we block it, sales will just drop. The future is an open world and Earth is slowly embracing the whole universe. If new cultivation techniques are promoted right now, it'll be just in time for us to promote our technical standards. I'm sure you Westerners are most skilled in this," a yellow powerhouse retorted. 
Everyone exchanged looks of confusion. Why did the situation seem reversed? The yellow people had always been the most conservative, whereas the whites were the most open-minded, no? 
However, those who were present at the moment were all elites and powerhouses who used to be think-tank experts in international issues, so they managed to offer solutions quickly. 
A reference to the past trade standards was all needed. Some techniques and products were limited, whereas some were open to all. 
Intelligent mechs that were fully anthropomorphic were banned from imports, but semi-personalized mechs for homecare were allowed.
Of course, the so-called intelligent mechs were of weak intelligence, it was just that their algorithm and computational powers were far beyond mankind's current technical level. 
These crab people invented a preliminary version of a quantum calculator that was more practical based on this basis, and that was why the program could be very advanced. 
The development of mankind's technology and skills often began somewhere, then slowly spread across the world through communication. 
The universe was just a substitution now, to search for more civilizations, and then to communicate more knowledge of science and technology, which was another strategic goal. 
After discussing the foreign trade issues with the crab people, it was time for the conference's free exchange session, where over ten of the powerhouses began to discuss freely. 
"I received a message from my secret channel. Apparently, some people are secretly engaged in the Interstellar Transmigration Plan." 
"Interstellar Transmigration Plan? What's that?" Everyone looked at each other. 
"It's like this. There are hundreds of Pond-level cultivators who are now able to live in space. With the opening of the Milky Way Highway, they are now collecting techniques and resources in preparation to escape to another planet similar to Earth. Through cloning humans and building cultivation bases, they're able to satisfy their own cultivation resource needs…" The black powerhouse said in a defeated tone as he shook his head. 
"Where did you hear this news?" Ren Ruofeng's expression tightened. He was surprised he did not know this. 
Sure enough, as the virtuous raised one foot, the devil raised ten. Despite the Spiritual Nets Above Snares Below and the Biological Management Chip techniques, Pond-level powerhouses enjoyed the privilege of being chip-free. This left them with loopholes. 
"Oh, someone of my bloodline just joined the Interstellar Transmigration. I sensed it through my blood when he was cultivating techniques. This fellow's a descendant whom I value very much, and he didn't even inform me. This shows how attractive this plan is in their perspectives," the black powerhouse said with a hint of anger in his tone.
"They're learning from the former migrants, but just a low version of it. However, in comparison to the migrants controlled by the Upper Realm, they at least have the liberty of delegating their cultivation resources. In the current cultivation market especially, only a large amount of magical energy points is needed to purchase all sorts of products and even perfect reincarnation services. No wonder these people are tempted," Ren Ruofeng said in a bothered tone. 
Human minds were complicated since everyone had ideas and plans of their own. Even if the human community was established, the different groups within the community would eventually split as the external environment changed due to different interests and opinions. 
It was evident that this group of people who were engaged in the Interstellar Transmigration was disregarding ethics and morality since they intended to use technology to clone people and exploit the clones.
Such things had been vividly reflected in previous sci-fi films, and now it was finally happening in reality… 
When the black powerhouse finished speaking, the cultivators all fell silent. Some of them were spotted with a glimmer in their eyes as if they were tempted by the idea as well. 
In the face of strength and longevity, what were ethics and morals even? An ordinary mortal's life was already considered unimportant, needless to say, clones were nothing. 
In today's society, magical energy points were money, perhaps even more tempting than money. 
Apart from the so-called "true love" that had always been a myth, it could pretty much buy everything. Even and gold could not buy longevity, no matter how wealthy people were in the past calculated carefully, they could never live over two hundred years old. 
Now, on the other hand, if one was lack of Cultivation Proficiency, a billion magical energy points and a few pulls of strings, one could easily request the Great Bodhisattva to hold the perfect reincarnation and even receive an extremely high Cultivation Proficiency. 
Of course, the price was now much higher because of the rapid increase in the production of magical energy. Perhaps 1.5 billion, perhaps even 3 billion magical energy points now. It seemed that even the Bodhisattva knew how to change prices accordingly… 
In the past when cultivators considered the issues on ethics, they would rather take a detour. Instead of relying on large quantities of clones, they would search for the Great Venerable Dragon God from the River of Blood to create newborns just to avoid the issue. 
After all, humans who were born in the River of Blood were considered of a bloodline more valuable, so there was no worry about them being used as tool men.
However, the concept of clones was that they were born to be tool men, and that was all becoming reality now. 
The Vitality Transformation Equipment, clones, all-purpose bacteria, and the Milky Way Highway… The maturity of these many techniques was enough for powerhouses to generate interstellar transmigration, open sub-bases, and accomplish their ambition of building a slave empire. 
"Our priority right now is to block the technique and prevent it from being used by those who are ill-intentioned. The Milky Way High especially, we must step up security and prohibit private transmigrations. All storage artifacts must be strictly checked through as well." Ren Ruofeng gave his last stalling tactic. 
This problem was destined to be completely impossible to solve because it went against the huge unparalleled benefits. Just like three poisons that accompanied human history, it could only disappear only for a short while. 
The other cultivators stared at each other and exchanged a quick nod. Obviously, nobody would object on the surface, but nobody could guarantee their actions as to what they do privately. 
When cultivating techniques and evil science and technology came together, the energy that erupts would be beyond one's imagination. 
As for the black powerhouse who exposed this news might not do it out of good intention. He might have been probing around or stirring up trouble. 
Ren Ruofeng thought to himself silently. 


Procrastinator extraordinaire, Fang Ning, had lost his consciousness after banging his head on a night of celebration. He woke up to a realization that he no longer had control of his body, as a System had taken it over. Will he eventually regain control of his body or will he be trapped in his body forever? How does he maneuver this situation? What's in store for Fang Ning?

Back from the dead!
That would be the reaction of any person who witnessed me killing the shadow assassin, if he saw the current me who looked identical to his partially demonified form.
It looked like the effect of the recently added 2 points to 'Illusion' was pretty much worth it, one could practically make a living using such convenient abilities, no matter how one looked at it, Long was truly worthy of being a reward, albeit a greedy one with a split personality disorder…
With that being said, one could say that I was finally ready to enter into the gateless dark hanging in the air and finally see what the second floor contained!
Stepping into it actually only transported me to a small space as big as a bedroom with no nauseating dizziness to speak of, there was a table just before me with too crystals resting on it, one pitch black, the other green, with words engraved on the table, incomprehensible words similar to that formed by the flame of the last gate, the only difference was that it didn't change into comprehensible ones this time.
"Hey…"
[Alright, I know, let me take a look first… ]
Thankfully, I had an invisible lizard to translate for me! Err, I mean I had Long who was lying lazily on my shoulder while using his 'Illusion' to turn himself invisible.
[It goes as something like this 'crush the green crystal to leave this place before it's too late, or crush the black one to move forward. However, beware! once you go forward it won't be as easy to leave when in danger…']
"Oh, that sounds like pretty much what you said, is this green crystal supposed to be the hard way out of here?"
[Yeah, once you crush the black crystal you would be transported to the second gate, as for the green crystal, it would also turn black once you crush the black, the only way to turn it back into green again would be either to supply it with a certain amount of elemental crystals or to destroy the special form of a 'Corruption Core' contained within the second 'floor']
"I see."
Screch!
I immediately crushed the black crystal, the repeated stages of choices looked as if they wouldn't end until I gave up on moving to the next floor, but I had already made my choice, so there was no need to continue hesitating!
Swoosh!
Accelerated space transmission took place once again, only at a higher intensity…

Of course, thanks to the work of 3 combined 'Immunities' the pain was lowered to a minimum that I could easily handle, moving in the dark with nothing to behold like most sci-fi movies mentioned, I could only wait for the space train to deliver me to my destination…

The entity who created these gates was truly magnificent at choosing arriving locations, especially making this gate's exit up in the fresh air…
So, I was here falling in the air almost for a few seconds now, and could already see the lovely ground, ready to crash…

I did try to use my 'Telekinesis' to lighten my crash slightly and remove some of the impact's strength, but thanks to my current muscle density, my body which looked like it weighed 70 Kg was almost double that amount, making the force of 10+ Kg incapable of creating a major difference.
Luckily, I did have the new 'Unbound Vitality' and 'Immunity', so I was able to climb out of the crater with almost no pain nor injuries, albeit with my disguise outfit being ruined.

Changing clothes in the speed of light, was actually one of the things the ring excelled on, storing away the clothes I was wearing at the same time of transporting the one inside it to my body, all using the fancy space element ability of the ring.
Of course, such precise control wasn't easy, it was only when I raised my Wisdom up to 20 points that I started to find that the ring could be used more versatile ways as my mental energy grew, as it proved the worth of the ring that I bought using the majority of my points!
"What happened just now? what was that?!"
"Something crashed there!"
"Wait! I can see someone coming out from the crashing point!"
"Hey! You! State your identity or d…"
I could see 5 giant humanoids, two meters tall, with dark violet skin, long curved horns, holding great spears, they looked like they pretty much had the intent to kill and almost began handing out threats but they seemed to have noticed my horns.

I wasn't really as short as he was making me out to be, asI had an approximate height of 180 cm, and although I wasn't buffed up like weight-lifters due to the condensation of my muscles, I couldn't be described as skinny if looked at with human eyes…
Of course, since they didn't have human eyes to begin with, I wasn't as stupid to argue with the first demons I saw at the beginning of my trial disguise, so I just stood still and waited for them to have their own assumptions.
"Oh, oh, I know! He has the aura of a recently demonified subject, he is probably one of these so called 'candidates'!"
"Yeah, he does have that smoggy aura that's a bit familiar to ours!"

I, of course, expected such behaviour, after all, their killing intent from the beginning didn't vanish from the beginning, it was only intensified at this point, this was a demon base after all, to them, I basically looked like a leech who was trying to enter their ranks to get some of their glory, such an entity was bound to be despised by the simpletons of the community.
So, I planned to elaborate to them how wrong they were!

Tianjing City, Tianhai Real Estate Company.
The big conference room.
All the executives and salespeople of Tianhai Real Estate Company were present in the big conference room. About a hundred people.
"What's the progress of the construction of the residential community on the outer area of Tianjing Mountain?" Director Li Yuanshou sat at the conference table and looked at the company executive, Xiao Huang, who was wearing a khaki suit. "I remember that according to Young Master's requirements, the residential buildings should have completed construction? Young Master is awesome, very awesome. Nothing must go wrong, do you understand?" Li Yuanshou wore old-fashioned round-rimmed spectacles. His hair was parted 2:8, and he had a little mustache on the upper lip—the old guy had not changed at all.
"Everything is going smoothly at the moment." Xiao Huang reported carefully. "The progress is quick, we're at the finishing stage. The construction was done very attentively, it moved heaven, earth, and the Jade Emperor. The job should be fully completed in a few days' time. We will then look for Young Master to get new projects."
"Not bad, not bad." Li Yuanshou laughed. "Aiya, because of this project, I have not appeared in front of Young Master much recently. I wonder if he will forget me…" He thought for a while and said, "Well, when this project has been completed, I will contact Young Master."

"What happened to Young Master?" Li Yuanshou was curious. "Does he have any new projects?"
"Young Master, he…" The executive shuddered, then decisively said, "The two aircraft carriers that Young Master bought have arrived at Beijin Port. Young Master is on the aircraft carrier. The people transporting material there said that Young Master is going out to sea, and will not return within a short period of time!"

We racked our kills up to 20, but when Sona was warding, she was sniped by Twitch on the other side who ratted out our entire barracks! Our crystal got pushed by minions. The opponents were dancing at their base waiting for their minions to crush our crystal!
"In the end, Master Yi farmed godly equipment! Mejai's Soulstealer! Leviathan! Sword of the Occult! All 0 stacks!
"Damn useless! I'll stab your lungs out! All you bunch of trash are always adding runes instead of your ultimates, and you're even diving Brand when his flash is up. Bloody hell, the moment he flashes out, he f**ks shit in the pit, wiping us in the team fight instantly!"
Hearing the thunderous roar from the conference room, the female employees who liked to add runes almost cried.
An executive quickly said, "Director Li, you're too fierce to the girls!"
Li Yuanshou: "I'm not afraid of offending girls! I'm Li Yuanshou!"
Xiao Huang tried to explain. "Director Li, adding runes is the duty of our office girls. It's forgivable to make mistakes! Besides, our Master Yi has never died!"
"F**k!" Li Yuanshou raged. "He has never died! But he's just a piece of waste with 0 kills, 0 deaths, and 0 assists!!"
"If I'm unlucky in the game, so be it. But to think I'd be so unlucky! And that damn Hong Dali! Coming up with all those moths, I just want to send them all to see Stalin!"
"But Director Li!" Xiao Huang said anxiously, "Without Young Master, our sales would not have increased…"
Li Yuanshou roared. "But now, he's out on the sea. We can't get work! He's hindering us!"
After venting, he sat on the chair helplessly and recoiled. "I came to Hebei Province not to have my nuts crushed. This is a good place."
"We'll go against him, let's go talk to him! Find Young Master! No matter what, we have to get the next project. Otherwise, I'll castrate you, then get seventy thousand misuses to play you to death! Quick!"

Yuanshou's voice came through the phone. "Young Master, it's like this. We have constructed three residential buildings on the outer area of Tianjing Mountain, as per Young Master's instructions. They are all high-class residential areas. The optical cable is connected directly to each household. There's a dedicated Wi-fi transmission tower right outside the building. Man-made fish pond, man-made forest, everything is in accordance with the highest specifications!"
"Haha, good, good!" Hong Dali nodded and complimented. "I know I can trust Director Li on this. The quality is guaranteed!"
"Thank you for your compliments, Young Master!" Although Li Yuanshou was raging in the company, he remained low-key when he spoke to Hong Dali. "It's just that, the, Young Master ah, when this project is completed, are there any new projects to work on? Our construction team is very enthusiastic. They want to take on the next project!"
"Next project? Of course there is!" Hong Dali nodded decisively. "I want to build a school. Director Li, are you interested?"
Young Master wanted to build another school! Extravagant! Big project! A school that Young Master wanted to build would not be inferior. It was a pity he didn't get the New Lanxiang project. Now there was another chance! A sudden glimpse of hope in the dark mist of bewilderment!

"No problem! As long as it's Young Master's request, we'll fulfill it!" Li Yuanshou was more than excited—it wasn't every day one could get a big project like this! He asked anxiously, "No problem, I'll take on this project! Young Master ah, where should we build this school? At the best location? I'll start to arrange people to send the building materials over."
"Oh, the location." Hong Dali sniffled. "On my aircraft carrier. Big Fish. Why don't you come over first, Director Li? When you're here we'll discuss further."
Li Yuanshou: "…" He was stunned for half a minute. Then he replied, trembling with fear, "Okay… okay…"

Xiao Huang said anxiously, "Director Li, but it's a big project nonetheless. As long as we do a good job, our projects are sure to increase on a large scale!" 
"Damn!" Li Yuanshou raged. "It'll increase! But Young Master wants me to build a school on the aircraft carrier! How are we going to transport the reinforced concrete there?! Get it on the spot? Fish it up from the sea?
"Damn Hong Dali! Coming up with all these moths, I just want to send them all to see Stalin!"
Xiao Huang quickly said, "But Director Li, if we don't take on this project, we won't have any projects to work on next…"
Li Yuanshou roared. "I've accepted the project. The problem is that Young Master is going out to the sea. How are we going to transport the building materials there? Use a ship and shovel it over?!"
Xiao Huang asked, "Director Li, what should we do, then?"
Li Yuanshou said, dispirited, "Go find people! Go find people now! I've already promised Young Master. Even if we use a helicopter, we have to get the school up! Quick, go!"
Xiao Huang's head was full of sweat. "Yes!"


"I have to squander; otherwise, won't it be a waste of my parent's talent at earning money?" Hong Dali answers a reporter's question matter-of-factly. 

Just after the interview ends, Hong Dali opens the Great Prodigal System's interface and looks at the various good stuff displayed in it. Stroking his chin, he mumbles to himself, "I just need to squander 200 billion yuan more to exchange for the blueprint of the core technology, Engine Destruction, found in the strongest humanoid mecha weapon, Neo Granzon. Looks like I'll have to work harder!"

"I want to splurge! I want to squander!"


In the remote villages of China, families often lived close to each other so that they could help one another if needed. However, the Bedouin houses were scattered out far and wide. Yet this was understandable. Chinese village houses, even the poorest, were at least made of mud. The houses here were made of open air thatch material. Get too close and one could smell someone else's fart, not to mention that if one needed to have privacy and do funny business…
Here, there was no electricity, no power generators, no Wi-Fi, no running water, no books, and no newspapers. Even if there had been, few people were literate. There were also no conveniences of modern society. What could one do after the sun sets? Of course, s*x.
The consequence of not having protection readily available? Many children. From the very young to somewhat bigger, they ran freely around, looking a tad dirty but innocent.
For the girls, they quietly gathered in groups of two or three to weave handicrafts. The younger ones would then play with colorful glass beads.
Every man here had three or four wives and a dozen or more children. The way the children were raised mirrored that of sheep rearing.
In the village, teenagers like Salem were few and far between. It may have coincidentally been that the nomadic tribes had ventured to the vicinity of the Siwa Oasis, and many of them went to town or the farther-away Port of Mersa Matruh to work and earn money.
Those left behind were young children and mostly middle-aged or elderly people over the age of 30. In some places, a 30-year-old was not considered to be middle-aged—here, the harsh environment and long laboring hours made one age rapidly. A person in their twenties was similar to one in their forties.
Salem led Zhang Zian to one of the shacks and whispered, "I just asked my cousin about it. It seems that just before we came, there was another group of guests who arrived. They seemed rich but somewhat rough. He didn't know what they wanted, but they went straight to the chieftain."
Zhang Zian nodded. The few off-road vehicles parked at the entrance to the village must've belonged to this group of guests.
While the purpose of their visit was unknown, the hope was that they would not cause any trouble and affect the operations of the expedition team. Yet Zhang Zian had a feeling of unease, fearing what might happen.
They approached another shack. Salem did not knock, as there was no door to knock on. The shack was made out of date palm branches and reed stems. Only three sides of the shack were built, and the roof was covered with palm leaves. A rag hung on the open side, functioning as a door.
By heading to the largest shack in the entire community, Salem indicated that this was the home of the village chief. Despite this being the chieftain's shack, it was only a little bigger than the ordinary people's shacks. Other additional features included pillars made of trunks or mud bricks to make the sheds stronger.
The door was more spacious with no curtain hanging. It was possible to make out who is inside, but because the shack was dark and the outdoors were very bright, it turned out to be quite difficult.
Salem shouted at the house in his tribal language. Zhang Zian couldn't understand clearly what he was yelling, but he seemed to hear the word "Nabari."
Zhang Zian guessed that Salem probably said that he would come in with the guests. It acted like a warning that if one was having intercourse during the day, one should stop and pull on his pants.
Just a joke.
After shouting, Salem raised the curtain and entered, indicating that Zhang Zian should follow.
Because Egypt was dry and hot, no matter how hot it got outside, it was always cooler indoors. The airy house was now a clear advantage.
Sitting in the house was a middle-aged man, likely about 40 or 50 years old but whose true age was unknown. He was smoking a hookah.
In addition, there was a middle-aged woman wearing a long bluish-black robe. Only her eyes and her hands were visible. She sat cross-legged on the blanket, skillfully flattening dough with a rolling pin. A pit was dug in the ground next to it and surrounded by stones. A red flame shone brightly in the center.
There were two three- or four-year-old children crawling up and down on the blanket, staring at Zhang Zian with bright eyes.
A few plastic water dispenser containers lined the side of the house. They contained liquids of different colors. They probably contained water and camel milk, although one looked like milk wine.
Zhang Zian guessed that this middle-aged man was probably the legendary guardian of the tribe—Nabari, as well as his wife and children.
Salem whispered something and introduced Zhang Zian to Nabari.
Nabari put down the hookah. He stood up, looked at Zhang Zian, stuck out his hand, and said in English, "Welcome, friends from China!"
Zhang Zian noticed that Nabari was wearing a solar-powered watch that looked quite nice. This might've been the most technologically advanced thing in the entire tribe. Plus, his command of the English language was better than most Egyptians'. Nabari was obviously a person who had seen much. Salem said that he often took expedition teams or tour groups into the desert and returned safely. This might actually be believable.
The Bedouins provided warm hospitality to their guests. Men had to shake hands but also hug.
After the hug, Nabari smiled and asked, "What can I help you with, friends from afar?"
Zhang Zian spoke openly and talked about the expedition team's request for him to take the team into the desert. He also did not forget Salem's request, repeatedly mentioning that it was because of Salem's recommendation.
Salem also helped on the sidelines. He said Zhang Zian was like a good friend who'd gone through trials and tribulations with him for many years. He also said that Zhang Zian had helped him a lot and begged Nabari to help him return this favor.
Nabari silently considered their question and did not rush to agree. He first asked specifically where the expedition team planned to go, because the western desert was part of the Sahara Desert, and it was not possible to enter like a headless fly without a plan.
Zhang Zian nodded secretly. Nabari had not agreed immediately upon hearing about the generous reward. This proved that he was a calm and cautious person.
In fact, Nabari zeroed in on the difficulty of the expedition team. The expedition team did not have a clear goal. Wei Kang wanted a Bedouin as a guide, as they were familiar with the desert. The hope was to hear from them whether they'd come across other types of Egyptian cats. Without them, it would really be searching for a needle in a haystack.
"Cat?" Nabari frowned and thought for a while. "You're going to the desert to find a cat?"
"Yes, but no ordinary cat," Zhang Zian said.
As it was difficult to explain what the original Egyptian cat was, he simply turned around to Fina and said, "A cat like this."
Fina did not walk into the shack. It lazed outside and looked around.
Nabari stared at Fina. After a while, he said with uncertainty, "I...I might have seen it."

When I was 20 my interests were pretty normal, like games, movies, TV shows and so on. However, at that time I met a person that inspired me greatly. Although it was just a chance encounter that person changed my life.

I thought it could be a nice change of pace in my life to head down to a local cafe after seeing great reviews.

After ordering a coffee and luckily finding a small empty table in the packed cafe, I noticed another man looking around for something, possibly a seat. 

Seeing me sitting alone, he came up to me. I don't know what he thought, maybe all he wanted was a place to rest his legs in the filled cafe. Although I can't remember much about his features, I do remember the feeling he gave off. He felt familiar to me which helped to erase any awkward feelings I had seeing him approach.

However, there was one conversation I had with that man which has stayed with me throughout my entire life.

We started chatting about anything and everything. Soon more than half an hour had flown by. Although I usually wasn't so open with a stranger, I began feeling comfortable around him and even made a few jokes. 

Gradually the topics came to sci-fi and he began telling me his views around the feasibility of teleportation.

Initially, I denied his notions that it was even possible to craft a device capable of teleportation, however, the more I conversed with him the more interested I became. 

The conversations I had that day ignited a spark in my otherwise bored soul which, has since never extinguished.  

After he left I realised that with today's scientific breakthroughs it would simply be impossible and improbable to make such a device.

I decided then if scientists aren't able to make teleportation a reality in my lifetime, I'll do it myself.

I spent the next 20 years of my life studying science in general with an increased focus on physics and the concepts involved with spatial manipulation otherwise known as teleportation.

During this time I pushed away everybody and everything. I found relationships, emotions, and luxuries I used to enjoy, inefficient in my pursuit for knowledge.

My 41st birthday was the date I choose to start developing a teleportation device. Although met with many trials and tribulations it was mostly smooth sailing and my research began making waves within the scientific community.

I gained many awards for my efforts. However, I was never interested in such pointless self-satisfaction and only felt a slight annoyance with the events as it took time away from my research.

My work later gained the attention of the United States Government. I was flown out to create a specialised group focused on spatial manipulation. Although I personally believed I needed nobody else I still agreed so I could gain access to unlimited funding.

Many said that I was obsessed and my lifestyle would one day kill me. I agreed, But I also knew that if I wanted to make my dreams a reality within my lifetime, it was the only way.

When I was in my sixties and was almost able to realise my dreams. New laws were implemented as science advanced and the government began to realise just how dangerous teleportation could be. They started believing that bending the laws of space may shatter our reality.

Although theoretically possible, teleportation is unlikely to cause such an effect. However, my views were never even taken into consideration. That was one of the only days of my life I was truly angry. I had put all my life and soul into my work, my everything and it was stripped away.

I never let the new 'Laws' deter me though. But I guess the authorities were smart enough to assume I had already been building a teleportation machine within my home.

What they hadn't anticipated however is that it was a far more completed teleporter. I just hadn't, had the time to make some final adjustments and for a test to be conducted.

It took the authorities one day after the law was passed for them to make their move. 24 hours was easily enough time to make the final changes needed. 

I completed the adjustments, placed a mouse on top of the teleporter pad and activated the device. The teleporter was only supposed to relocate the mouse some 10 meters away onto a receiving device. 

What occurred, however, was the complete disappearance of the mouse, it didn't appear on the receiver. There was no mouse, no smoke and no particles left behind. I could only assume that with no existing particles of the mouse left, that the teleporter was an ultimate success in moving the mouse, the only question was where. 

I made appropriate changes to the receiver and teleportation device but before I could make another test, the authorities burst down my door. With no time left, I decided to be the test subject. When I could hear the authorities coming, I decided to prove, to them, to myself, and to the world that my dreams and ambitions weren't something out of fantasy but it was a real possibility.

A special army task force then made their way into my lab after destroying the reinforced door. 

I quickly jumped onto the teleporter pad with an activation button in hand, I felt an excitement run through my veins. As I pressed the activation button. I heard the squad commander order his men to shot the teleporter, to destroy it. 

Even as the machine was being destroyed it had already completed the operations needed to activate the teleporter. Suddenly I felt a strange sensation envelop me, however, soon all I could feel was pain. Such pain was overwhelming to the point I lost consciousness.

The damage to the teleporter's wiring caused by the task forces bullets created short-circuiting. Energy stored in the teleporter was released and caused an explosion large enough to destroy the entire lab leaving almost no remnants of the teleportation device behind.

...

The next time I opened my eyes, I was in a medieval looking village. I slammed my fists on the dirt covered ground and cried as I felt a sweet release on the emotions I had bottled for the majority of my life. It felt as though my life had meaning, I wasn't crazy, teleportation was possible.

I heard the sound of brisk walking and noticed a man in his forties. He came up to me and patted my back as he stated in a reassuring tone "No need to cry boy, no one here will hurt you."

The man's words sent a bolt of electricity down my spine. Nobody had called me boy within the last 50 years of my life especially not someone obviously younger than me. I looked at my dirt covered hands and noticed they weren't the ones I remembered.

They didn't have the same scorch marks from failed tests or wrinkles attributed to my age, but were instead, youthful looking.

I was unable to comprehend what could cause my body to change. I was certain teleportation couldn't cause this, but with no other obvious signs for the cause, my mind began trying to rationalise this irrational situation.

I blacked out again as my brain couldn't handle the reality displayed before me.

A boy given inspiration to create a device capable of teleportation becomes an obsessed elderly man who will stop at nothing to see his dreams realised.






The story will follow a man and his travels across 'dimensions', those being anime, movie, video game and light novel worlds, the first being overlord.
