A Farm boy named Eragon, who finds a mysterious stone in the mountains. Not knowing the stone's origin or worth, he attempts to use it as payment to a butcher. A dragon he later names Saphira hatches from the stone, which was really an egg.

Mr. Blue-Eagle is indeed a Native American, not Indian like people from India. Atticus Conrad Blue-Eagle is 6'1ft with the traditional native american red skin, long black and silver hair that is braided and intertwined with teal and turquoise beads that belong to his mothers Apache Tribe many moons ago. The beads do make occasional clicking noises when they swing side to side from his lower back.
Mr. B-Eagle or just Mr. B, was in the teachers conference room where he had 5 minutes to spare to just sit down, enjoy his Starbucks black coffee he successfully snuck inside the school, and read his favorite book by Christopher Paolini l, Eragon. It was a peaceful moment where Mr. B was sitting in a wannabe comfy sofa with his legs crossed to support the heavy book while his khaki pants long and flare to cover his muddy biker boots with a sky blue long sleeve button up shirt that had his name pinned on the right side of his chest sporting the blue mustang. 
The Eragon book was barely getting good when he heard students doing the stupid chanting of 'FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!' Mr. B doesn't believe in violence and it was Coach Armstrong turn to break up whatever fight. He sighed and continued his book.
Not even a page into the book where a student barges into the teachers room, eyes wide and tears streaming. Layla Murphy was this southern belle that recently moved into this area and to this school. At 5ft she almost looks like a house sprite with light blue skinny Jean's, sunflower ballet flats with a golden ankle bracelet. a white button up blouse with puffy white sleeves around her small shoulders. She had her blonde almost white hair in a fancy bun with small sunflowers sticking around. Her skin was a pale pink with hot-pink freckles across her face like cinnamon. Her pale blue eyes were bloodshot red and her southern voice shake as she pleded to the english teacher. "Mr. Blue-Eagle! Please! its Lincoln Rosemary!! They're at it again!!"
●Lincoln's Point of View●
For those who have never been bullied or those who were bullies, scratches in the face mix with toilet water does NOT feel good. Everything happen in a flash when Tanisha clawed my face and then with the help the twins dragged me to the nearby girls restroom and started chanting in a cheerleading way "S to the W to the I to the R to the L to the Y!! what does that spell? Swirly!!" they jeered and cheered and sneered as Tanisha kept my head in the toilet while Dulce kept my hands behind my back to be sure I won't to flush the toilet again. Told y'all I wasn't a complete idiot.
The 'Swirly Fest Cheer' so Tanisha calls it, felt like it last hours where I knew it was only a couple minutes in when Maria squeeze past the crowd recording the whole thing into the tiny stall where I was being baptized by the demon bitch. "Tanisha! Abby is here!" Maria said as she pulled me from my shoulders into the crowd, where they were sure to stay away from me. I stumble to the tile floor, coughing out the toilet water mix with my blood coming from my abused lungs and my nose. I couldn't hear what Maria said but look up at the person who came in to stop my torture. 
Again, with the bleach white tennis shoes and the same bleach socks with the blue mustang, stood a girl with tan skin, the same too small and tight skirt and cheerleading tank. Her Blonde dyed hair was in a low bun with blue ribbons where same colored eyes burn down into my soul, then to the twins and lastly Tanisha . "Abby...." I slowly whisper as I got up to my knees. Abby, or her real name that no one but me knows, Abraham, was the real top cheerleader in this school, where Tanisha was only top bitch of my school year, but rest assure. Once Abby graduates, it will be Tanisha and her goonies next in line.
Joy oh joy.
"See Abby, what happen was.." Tanisha was about to finish when Abby gave her a look that would make a bullet stop in midway from the target. Abby bent down and pulled me up from the cold wet tile. A glance from the mirrors told me my face almost looks like a desperate lottery ticket where my eyeliner and mascara was gone from my eyes. "Ladies, what did I say about team work?" Abby made sure I was on my own two feet before she started talking to the other cheerleaders.
I'm saved! Abby will kung fu their asses, take me out to chick fil la so we can enjoy some chicken sandwiches and milkshakes! Right?! that's what you're expecting? Even though Abraham 'Abby' Rosemary De La Cruz is my older sister, that doesn't mean anything but last names and a family tree.
"Again ladies, Team work is only team work when we work as a team!!" Abby gleamed as she pushed me towards Tanisha where Tanisha shoved me to Maria, then Maria to Dulce then Dulce to Abby then Abby to Dulce. My world was constantly spinning where I couldn't even get my footing or even catch my breathe and the noise built up in the restroom as the other students started to go Live on Instagram and Facebook while others just took pictures via snapchat while most chanted the bully rituals: "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT". 
My mind went mostly blank as I was being tossed around like a rag doll. I mean, what can i really think about in moments like this? this is technically a normal for me. Waking up, going to school, getting bullied, then going home. This is a life of me, Lincoln Rosemary. "Alright that's enough!!" bellowed a loud booming voice. The noises and the chanting has stop and only sounds of "Move" and "get out of the way" as well as the rustling of clothes and backpacks. The pushing and shoving from my sister her the other cheerleaders stop and I again, collapse on the floor. I look up to see a man, my vision was still foggy from the toilet water and my mind still dizzy from, but I could've sworn it was my english teacher Mr. Blue - Eagle. I don't know and I'd probably find out later as my body gave in and put me into a deep slumber.
●Narrator POV●
'This is bad....'  Mr. Blue - Eagle thought to himself as he saw the 4 cheerleaders in a diamond form where Lincoln Rosemary, a girl with such high talent but poor unfortunate luck, laid in a fetus position in the middle. Like Moses and the red sea, the students parted ways as Mr. B and little Layla went towards Lincoln, with Layla being in the swim team, she carried a really big Egyptian cotton white towel. "You four with me! Layla go find where Armstrong is and notify him to the principal's office. I'm going into Dr. Wolf. And don't you even thinking about running away, I know all of you all!" and with that, Dr. B carried Lincoln to the nurses while Layla went to search the Schools coach hiccuping all the way.

Lincoln Rosemary, a bullied 16 year old girl gets in a horrid accident where it resulted with her receiving a divined blessing. With this new power, a source of mutual good and evil wishes to take possession of it.

Day by day the mark disappeared as if nothing ever happen to me, A single thought keep haunting my brain.
"Is the biting mark only an illusion? Am I already mad?"
 It's crazy to think all the terror of that wacky night, so I decided to move on to the better aspect of life. Soon I realized that it's very late and I need to deliver Christopher's lunch, at least this little routine is how I pay his virtue for taking care of me this whole life. He must be hungry due to my indolence, as soon as I arrived I hastened to give the lunch box and immediately apologized to Christopher at his book shop. 
So where do you off to today? , he asked. I'm going to visit mother's interment and trying to make use of my leisure, I answered, 
"That's great and listen, Mary there's no need for you to deliver lunch to me anymore because I'll be home early from tomorrow on therefore you should be careful on your path" He said with a warm smile.

On arrival at the interment, I gently pick some flowers and spread it all over mother's grave, I wish for her to be always happy, sitting next to her grave is one of my favourite thing, it feels like I am sitting next to her. 
As soon as I sit next to her grave I start my writing,
"Mother, today is my birthday, it's October 17th I'm 19 years old by now but nothing's really going on with my life up to this precious moments but, I can't say nothing because nearly everyday I have the same bizarre dream and sometimes I'm too scare and want a single embrace of yours so badly, I really want to meet you, the emotions burst out from my heart leads my tears falling from my eyes.

The day get darkened as if the Lord apollo is about to sleep soon but i am still staring the  sky, bright to dark and dark to a magnificently starry night, the view is so soothing followed with a falling star and it is when I think that I shall make my wish. I pray for a wish and closed my eyes then suddenly I heard a noise from bushes. I assume that it's just a wild animal wandering around the bush so I turn around and start to write again.

Shoot, a single gunshot sound coming from outside the interment, suddenly a badly wounded gentleman is crawling towards me asking for a help, I hastened to get closer to him and try to help him,I take several herbs from from trees to put over his wounds and he finally falls asleep on my lap.
Leaning my back on mother's grave with a stranger who is sleeping on my lap, I grew drowsy, slowly closing my eyes and finally fall asleep.

"Mary are you okay? hey Mary!" a familiar sounding voice strikes all over my head and soon the voice wakes my unconsciousness,
I slowly open my eyes and I saw Christopher.
"I'm fine, what?... I was leaning back on mother's grave then a badly wounded man came to me and asked for my help and how can I be here?, I nervously answered.  
Hey, it's okay Mary you can tell me what had happened after you recover, he said and hugged me warm and tightly.
Christopher soon left my room to give something to me and It's a book, he gave me three books, then told me that the author of that book is none other than my father Cornelius but it hasn't been published yet.
The next day after I obtained my father's books from my uncle. We decided to give it to publisher in London to make it official. 

The expedition I must take to make my father proud unfortunately is by myself because Christopher can't come with me. He can't leave his book shop or closing it, because the book shop is the only one which provides money for us, soon I put some traveling clothes and took a bunch of preparation kit for quiet a long expedition. I hugged Christopher and say goodbye to him. With bags, a single map and riding a horse I shall take my leave from our lovely abode to the gorgeous city of London.

“Mary” is a meaningful life story book of a beautiful orphan girl named Mary, she lives with her uncle Christopher when she discovered a great monument from her father that monument will lead her into a meaningful journey, while she is on her journey, she accidentally created a monster who thirst of bloods and desire, can she survive all the encumbrance with a little of happiness yet full of betrayal?

Tyler's thoughts: 

There is a myth that says it takes 10,000 hours to master something… 

 I've kissed… I don't know how many girls… I've entered kissing contests against classmates and friends, and won every single time, its also how I caught Mono in junior high… and other than feeling sick from Mono… none of those kisses made me feel anything… It felt like I was just performing an emotionless dance routine… I just learned where to put my hands and when to use my tongue, but none of those kisses took me out of my head the way I read about kisses doing in books between two people who…!!!

It's recommended to practice something for 1.5 to 2 hours a day… 

10,000 divided by 2 is 5,000… 5,000 days is… like… over 13 years... 


I don't know how many hours I've put into kissing… not nearly as many hours as Chris has put into playing the piano…


It had been a perfectly normal day… 


Tyler & Christopher: *Lips touching. Eyes open.*


Christoper:*Eyes soften as he pulls away from the kiss.* How was that? Horrible. How could it be better?


Tyler's thoughts: 


What… just… happened?! It was a horrible kiss but…


My mind went… blank…


Tyler: *eyes soften as he touches his lips* It was… WAIT! *Pushes Christ off of him and looks angry* What the fuck Chris! You just… why did you do that?!


Chris: *sits on his knees. Stares at the ground.* You said I would need to practice in order to be good… So I thought… *grips pants and looks up at Tyler.*


Tyler's thoughts: What is that look? He looks… nervous?


Christopher: Be my instrument... and instructor? To practice this skill until I am perfect enough... 


Tyler: ... to kiss someone else?!


Christopher: *Not smiling. Nods his head yes.* You are the best kisser I know of… I only want to learn from the best…


Tyler: *stands up* I— You— I���m going for a walk. *starts for the door. Puts on shoes*


Christopher: *Goes back to the piano* Will you be back for dinner? Mom said she was going to make lasagna… I know it's your favorite…


Tyler: I don't know. *Grabs the door*


Christopher: *places shaky hands on piano. Takes a deep breath and sighs* If you don't want to help me practice kissing, it's fine. I will find another teacher...


*The door slams shut behind Tyler*


Tyler: *Walking through a nice neighborhood at a fast pace. 


Tyler's thoughts: 


There is no way I am going to be his kissing teacher… instructor… tool? He just wants to use me so he will be good for that girl… 


Why does that hurt?


*Remember's Chris's last words "I will find another teacher"


Why does that hurt too?! 


*Get's to a park. 


*Memories flash of him and Chris playing in the park, playing tag.


*Tears start to well up.


Why would he go and change what we had? 


He's my best friend and now he wants to use me… 


*The kiss flashes as a memory again. BADUMP. 


My brain went blank from that crappy kiss… 


Chris: *Resting his head on the piano looking like he may have fallen asleep.


*the door opens and his eyes do too. 


Tyler: *Standing in the doorway.* Fine. I'll teach you how to kiss as good as me, knowing you, you'll probably get better than me… 


Chris: *Sits up and turns around on the bench* Really? Why?


Tyler's thoughts: Because I want to kiss you again

Tyler: Because if you go out and find some other teacher… they might get the wrong idea and take advantage of you. *Cheesy grin* What kind of best friend would let you put yourself in that kind of danger huh?


Chris: *Smiles brightly. Gets up and grabs Tyler's hands.* Thank you! I promise to work very hard.


Tyler's thoughts: Dear god… what am I getting myself into? And when did he get so cute?!

Christopher, an almost eighteen year old, piano prodigy, finds himself interested in learning a new skill, and decides to recruit someone he trusts and knows is a expert at it, his lifelong best friend, Tyler. 

Christopher: Be my instrument... and instructor? To practice this skill until I am perfect enough... 

Tyler: ... to kiss someone else?!

This just sort of popped into my head while I was taking a nap and listening to piano music...

It took a mere two minutes for him to be accepted into the Pudding Club. Liam led him back to his room where he located the blank form. Daniel hastily filled the form in and handed it to Liam who took a brief look over it and stamped it with the air of someone wanting to get a painful task over with.

"Welcome to the club. I'll start arranging your initiation ceremony as soon as possible," Liam promised him after tucking the form into his blazer pocket.

"When will that be?"

Felix's prediction had to be right or else Daniel was going to have some strong words with him.

"Next Wednesday," was the answer.

That agreed with Daniel's needs. He had a week and a day to solve everything. Maybe the Pudding Club would have ceased to exist by that time.

"Did you catch all of that?" he asked Felix once Liam had left and he'd heard him go down the corridor. There had been no time to end the phone call so he'd left it connected.

"I most certainly did. You are very in demand. I'm jealous," Felix commented. "It's lucky that you have some time before then to find certain things."

Daniel ignored the first part. He really didn't have time to work out if Felix was flirting with him. The second part reminded him that he had been going to ask Felix about what he had taken before Liam had interrupted.

"The prefects drugged me on my first night in order to search for something that you took. What is that?"

The answer was not helpful.

"It's useless without the other three parts. Everything to do with the secret society has been split into four parts to ensure that one prefect can't have a change of heart and give evidence about the drug taking. Tradition is powerful. I took Liam's part because it was the easiest to obtain."

The caution taken by the secret society was understandable. He had wondered before about how the secret society had survived for so long and through a new set of prefects every year. It had been carefully planned to eliminate the possibility of any of them stepping out of line.

"Liam had a ledger of the drugs used and their classes. It was half a page so one of them must have other information connected to it like the source or dates," the supposed amnesiac continued. "I don't know what the other three have. I was planning an excursion to the other two's rooms, but I obviously didn't get to it before I had an 'accident'. Can you pick a lock?"

Daniel didn't like where the conversation was going. If he was caught, he was definitely going to have an 'accident' and he might not be as lucky as Felix was. It was unlikely that they would choose the same method again. If he had to search all three prefects' private bedrooms, that was three opportunities to get caught. Whilst he could pick a lock and search quickly thanks to his experience in his previous life, he wasn't confident about it considering the cost of getting caught.

Then he noticed something about Felix's previous statement. He had one quarter of evidence, yet he had only mentioned planning two other excursions.

"I can pick a lock, but I have something to ask you. Which other prefect's bedroom have you broken into?"

Felix coughed awkwardly.

"As a matter of fact, I broke into someone's for a different purpose right after Jack's death. I hadn't started properly investigating yet. I went in for something specific and immediately left."

Daniel wondered why Felix was being so mysterious about his visit to an unknown prefect's private room. However, there were more pressing questions to ask.

"Where did you hide the ledger? If you hid it in our room, they can't have found it."

Felix's reply was frustrating.

"I did hide it in our room. They just missed it because it's a good hiding place. Can you check if it's still there?"

Daniel had searched around Felix's side with no results. He couldn't have missed it and he'd searched his own side as well. He had found a lot of hidden objects in his past life that had solved cases so it was odd that he couldn't find something hidden by Felix.

"Where did you hide it?" he asked with gritted teeth. He wasn't in the mood for any snarky comments from Felix.

Luckily for his frustrated mood, Felix didn't tease him and just answered simply.

"Down the radiator under my desk. That's why it's been disabled. I adjusted yours as well so it wouldn't seem out of place."

"You're the reason why this room is so cold," Daniel sighed in exasperation before crawling under the desk to check.

The clues had been there the whole time. The room was oddly cold. Christopher's room had been much warmer compared to his and Sunny had said that he should tell maintenance about the broken radiator. He should have wondered about it more, he had just attributed it to Kingston Royal Academy having old architecture. He switched on the torch on his phone to look down the back of the radiator. There was a slim plastic wallet sellotaped in place. He could make out a list of drugs through the blue plastic. There was quite a range.

"In my defence I didn't know that I was getting a roommate until the day before," Felix said apologetically. "Sorry about the cold temperature."

"It's still here," Daniel announced.

"Of course it is. You need to find the other three parts before we have a good chance at destroying them."

Daniel groaned at the thought of sneaking into three prefects' bedrooms. They were definitely going to be on high alert once he got hold of one piece of evidence. The only one that was going to be slightly easier was David Wang's, the Golden Lion prefect due to the fact that Christopher was in the same house and could help him out, directly or indirectly.

"What have you done with the cat?" Felix changed the subject adroitly.

The cat's head was still in the parcel under Felix's bed. In the rush of finding out everything, he hadn't had a chance to bury it discreetly.

"I'm planning its burial," he said hastily. "Can you tell me who sent it so I can know which prefect might be slightly on my side?"

There was a short period of silence.

"No. If I reveal that, I have to reveal something that I did."

"Felix..." Daniel sighed. "Tell me-"

He was cut off by Felix ending the call. What had happened between Felix and the prefect?

There was another knock at the door and he breathed a sigh of relief when he recognised the knock. It was only Christopher. A second later his cousin strode in with a triumphant look on his face and closed the door behind him.

"I know who sent the parcel or at least, who the box and wrapping belong to," he informed him.
The visit to Felix had caused Daniel to forget that Christopher had offered to help out with the mutilated cat issue. He hadn't been expecting much anyway so it was a happy surprise.

"Who is it?"

Christopher leaned forward secretively and Daniel couldn't blame him for not feeling comfortable discussing something important as this too loudly.

"James Mackenzie."

Whilst Daniel had no idea who the parcel was from, he hadn't been expecting that name. Then again it did make sense. He was a prefect, had known about the cats in the wardrobe and wasn't Liam. Raven met the criteria.

"How do you know it's his box?" he asked curiously.

"He's well known for burning incense sticks in his room and smells of it himself. I was trying to remember where I smelt it before and thought of incense because it doesn't smell quite like aftershave and deodorant. Do you think he's the one that sent it?"

"Probably. I just don't know why."

Felix had said the sender had a conscience and wanted revenge against him at the same time. What had Felix taken from his room?

"Do you know if he does anything else strange in his room?"

Christopher wasn't in the Violet Rose house so it was a difficult question to ask. However, Christopher was his only real school connection that he could use. Felix was clearly not going to tell him.

"Daniel, he's infamous for being weird. What kind of things are you thinking about?"

He couldn't disagree with that reputation. He'd only interacted with Raven once and that had been enough to show his strange personality.

"Does he keep anything odd in his room that has gone missing recently?"

Christopher pulled a face.

"I haven't exactly been in there... actually, I did hear that he went around the Violet Rose dorm looking for a rabbit last month. In September when the first term started, one of the year 7s said that he saw him playing with a rabbit in the fields once and another said he saw a rabbit cage in his room. Nobody believed them because no one takes Year 7s seriously, but they could be telling the truth."

Something flashed through Daniel's mind and he made a connection between the facts. Raven used to have a rabbit that he kept in his room, Felix had taken something from a prefect's room and black pudding had been served at the Pudding Club before the end of the term after Jack's death. 

Additionally, Felix had been very unwilling to tell him what he took.

It all added up to one thing.

Felix had used Raven's rabbit to make black pudding.

It explained why the cat had been mutilated needlessly. It was Raven's way of giving him a warning and getting Felix back at the same time.

Daniel was revolted by both of them.

Admittedly Felix hadn't got anyone hooked on drugs and led them to their death, but it was still an odd thing to do. At the very least, he solved the minor mystery of where Felix had got the blood to make the black pudding from. He couldn't say it had been weighing heavily on his mind though.

"No, those year 7s were telling the truth," he said with a shudder. "It's definitely Raven that sent the cat."

"What are you going to do now?" Christopher asked with nervousness evident on his face. "You can't go against the prefects."

Daniel laid a hand on Christopher's shoulder. His cousin was proving to be more useful than he'd ever imagined.

"Can you break into David Wang's bedroom for me?" He requested with his best non-evil smile.

Christopher knocked his hand off his shoulder.

"What? Even if I had the guts to I couldn't sneak in anyway, he keeps the door locked."
"So you have tried."

His cousin flushed red and Daniel knew he'd hit on something.

"It was a dare. My roommate said he'd tidy up if I had the balls to get into David's room and bring back proof. I obviously failed and that's why his side of the room is a mess."

"I can teach you how to pick a lock, would you do it then?"

"No! I'm not risking getting caught," the blond protested.

Daniel knew he would have to pull out the strongest persuasion tool in his arsenal to get Christopher to help him.

"I'll tell Annabelle you are being uncooperative."

It took Christopher five seconds to crack.

"Fine. I'll get you into the dorm unnoticed, but you have to break in by yourself and I don't know anything about it you get caught."

He held out his hand and Daniel shook it. It felt strange that investigating a potential murder case and drug ring were the elements needed to bring them together.

Once Christopher had left Daniel sent a text with a rabbit emoticon to Felix. It would be sufficient to let Felix know he was aware of the theft and murder. Felix's reply was a sad face and a cat emoticon. When he received this, Daniel rolled his eyes. Neither of the two were in the right for their animal murders.

He checked the time and decided it would be a good idea to visit the library again, this time for something different. His aim was to look into the history of Kingston Royal Academy. The secret society's luring in and subsequent blackmail of Jack had made him wonder if it was an actual tradition and he wanted to check if there had been any other deaths at Kingston Royal Academy.
Mr Collings had been appointed fairly recently so he hadn't been any help so he was going to have to find out the information himself.

His search started in the history section where he picked out two prospective books and he took a detour to find a book about drugs. It would be interesting to see who had taken out those books. He hit a stumbling block when he located the right section to find Raven standing there reading a book.
Daniel took a step back and Raven turned around to look at him. Daniel wasn't sure what to say. Raven wasn't his biggest threat but he wasn't innocent either.

"Seeing as you're here, you must have worked it out," Raven said. "Well done and be careful. I'll keep my door unlocked for a week to help you."

He dropped the book he had been reading into Daniel's arms and walked away. Daniel stared after him and then at the book which was on illegal drugs.

It appeared that there was a prefect who was on his side.

Daniel thinks he has it hard going through school again at a snobby all boys academy in the middle of nowhere.

Instead his first day ends with his roommate bleeding out into the snow right in front of him.

His boring second life just got interesting and dangerous.

I tussled and kept on moving around due to the sharp straws that kept on poking my back. I frowned as I struggled to find a good position where I could continuously sleep without waking due to my stiff neck from not having a pillow.
I finally began to sleep deeply when I used Luke as a pillow. I'm sorry Luke!
I stretched my arms to find it was 4:30AM when I looked at the rusty ancient clock to get ready for breakfast. I diligently put my uniform on and shook Luke aggressively to wake him up to devise a strategy to get ourselves out of here as soon as possible.
Luke momentarily appeared astonishingly surprised that I got up earlier than him as he quickly followed me in getting ready for breakfast. Before Luke went to grab his school bag on the wooden hanger, I grabbed his wrist, "I think it's time to make a strategy to make our living space more liveable."
When we first got our insane schedules, we also got the schedule for exams. Christopher explained we had to go through an orientation test before we entered into the class that suited our levels. Meaning that the school was trying to test out our initial levels upon entering the school and how it compared to others. In the fine print, the handout said that if the student and the partner received a score that was higher than the top pair already enrolled, we would collect 10 000 points. However, if Luke and I manage to get the last place, we would, unfortunately, get minus points.
Glancing at the small fine print earlier in the day yesterday, I analyzed if Luke and I got last place, we would get -10 000 points. However, if we were in the upper middle, we would collect 5000 points.
What I was aiming for was the upper middle of the class. I knew that it would be probably almost impossible to get better scores than the top pair that have enrolled in this brutal schedule since the age of two. However, Luke was a very capable person who spent most of his spare time studying like he didn't know how else to spend his life. Plus, I had my memories from my past life that could help out a little in addition to the "cheats" given by God.
I grinned as I focused all my energy on getting 5000 points per subject to finally live in a decent housing area (well at least middle class)!
I was a person who suffered through the SATs for four years straight! How hard could the initiation tests be?
After I shared everything I had in mind to Luke with the exclusion of my reincarnation, Luke nodded which meant that he agreed.
The first class that we had a test for was history. Since I had just come from a different world just over a week ago, I had to cram all the content within my brain for an exam I wrote three days ago.
Thankfully, most of the history in the third district was similar to the one from my former life while excluding the minor details in dates and important figures.
History was all about memorization. I could have used the dimensional library that I got from God, but I didn't want to use that gift anymore since Luke was already cramming all the history into me anyways.
However, since I could barely sleep last night before using Luke as a pillow, I ended up pulling out a history book from the dimensional library to put me to sleep.
Surprisingly, the history book was like a light novel! This world was split into six different districts, where each one would represent a different era in time. The vague summary was that the first district was the futuristic era where people had hover cars and robots to do most of their work for them with their huge mana. The second district was the science era where people were just starting to develop a new world where they would discover the existence of magic from science. The third district was where I came from, which was the technology era, where people started to develop smartphones and laptops. The fourth district was the industrial revolution era where people just started to develop new technologies. The fifth district was the Victorian era where people were ruled by the monarchy. Lastly, the sixth district was the time where people just started to live in civilizations with other people.
I didn't get to the part with the fine details, but I felt that the third district and below resembled the history of my old world! Plus, Luke fully crammed the first and second district's details to me (which I thought was pretty much nonsense), but I was on the edge of believing it after reading the light novel like a history book.
Christopher led Luke and me to two vacant seats and placed the exam booklet on the desks after we sat down. I soon opened the glowing blue exam booklet and started to write.
After I finished the exam, Christopher announced the results of our combined score, "Not bad! You placed 4th out of six pairs. Which means that you get zero points! Let's move onto the next subject!"
I felt sorry for Luke, I did. But I knew I couldn't memorize the combined history of a new world within three days. I knew I was the person who brought our overall score down. However, this showed how capable the other four-year-olds were at this facility from surviving this intense schedule.
The next class was math. Math was the one subject I was confident from my past life with all the countless nights I spent. When Christopher announced the results for this subject, we got first place. Meaning we got 10,000 points! I was almost in tears because of my hard work from my past life paid off!
We went down the stairs into the basement for mana training class next as part of the examination series. I pretended to not appear nervous as I wasn't confident with how well I would do in this class because I have never used mana before. However, I have read a lot of manga and light novels and the protagonists almost always get to use extraordinary magic! Most times, they do this by using their imagination to conquer up a clear image of what kind of magic they want to produce. With the gifts given by God, I planned to do the same.
When Luke and I were led to something called, 'the center of this never-ending space', Christopher started giving out instructions, "Please produce a small flame in this room."
I closed my eyes and started thinking of a bonfire with its crackling blue flames produced by the oxygen molecules that come in contact with nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Slowly this would shift the hottest blue flames into slightly milder orange flames graduated from red. I gathered the tingling feeling of molecules inside my hand and pushed it outwards.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the surprised faces of both Christopher and Luke. The room that used to be never-ending turned into a medium twenty metered square room with white walls and floors. Their faces looked like their jaws would drop to the floor while they kept on staring at me for a few minutes due to their shock. Maybe this was the result of the unlimited MP that I got from God? Even though I never actually saw the flame, maybe the result of the flame destroyed the never-ending room I concluded.
To break the awkward silence, I asked, "So how many points did we end up getting?"
Christopher quickly regained his composure and replied, "10,000 points."
After that big event, nothing eventful happened afterward for the remaining subjects. In the end, Luke and I got 40,000 points as some of the minor details in the exam were different from my past life. I sighed as it looked like we still had a long way to go.
When we got back to our medieval-like room, I noticed a sleek tablet on the floor that shined in its uncivilized space. I grabbed the tablet while the screen displayed:
[Would you like to upgrade your room?]
I pressed [Yes] almost immediately with no hesitation as the screen changed afterward. I was impressed at the variety of options in the upgrades as I quickly became depressed about how I would never be able to afford some of them.
The screen first asked if we would want to move to the upper floors, or if we wanted to stay in the basement. It cost 20,000 points to move to the second floor, where we would get a decent bathroom that resembled mine from my previous world. Without any hesitation, I pressed [yes] due to the horrible stench and miserable dull grey walls I couldn't stand. There was no way I could stay in the room where it resembled a prison than a livable living space.
The tablet starting shining in bright blue light as it synthesized a room key on top of the tablet that floated lightly in the air.
I grabbed all my stuff (which was only my school bag and uniforms) and made Luke carry his own as I went to the second floor. It was obvious the key was to be used on the second floor and I didn't want to stay in this awful unit any longer.
I dragged Luke along the way while I ran up the modern-looking stairs created with sturdy metal that appeared greatly incompatible with the rusty undeveloped area in the basement.
I used the room key to get inside to find a ten-metered square room that was empty with a bathroom that was shown on the tablet.
I sighed as I forgot about the bedding and only thought about the room. At this rate, it wasn't that much better than the basement except for the modern bathroom. I glanced at Luke for help while I passed him the tablet to decide what we should do for the remaining points.
I sat beside Luke while putting our stuff onto the glazed wooden floor as he went over all the options of how we could use the 20,000 points. It cost 10 000 points to buy one bed with the framing, pillows, blanket with a mattress that was the standard size for one person. However, it cost only 5000 points to buy the mattress (with the mattress cover included) of a king-sized bed. Since we were unfortunately poor with points, we ended up buying the mattress, so that we didn't have to sleep on the floor.
The room was empty except for the mattress that suddenly appeared in the middle of the room after the tablet started shining again. I swore to myself that I would study harder to get a decent bed and apologized to Luke within my heart that I wasn't as capable as him for the time being.
Fortunately, this empty room had two closets, but it was also absolutely empty. I picked up the stuff I had on the floor and placed them inside the looming closet staring back at me. I stretched my arms as I found myself dirty with dust as I moved into the new room.
'Maybe I should take a bath,' I started to get ready to take a bath.
However, I soon realized the only clothes I had were my uniforms, which meant that I would have no clothes to change into afterward.
I instantly swiped through more options in the tablet to discover I could use using 100 points to buy one cheap piece of underwear and pajamas with the remaining 10,000 points. I sighed with relief as the other necessities weren't as expensive as the furniture.
Once I finished buying more cheap stuff on the tablet, I passed the tablet to Luke so he could buy stuff for himself as well. It seemed like Luke decided to buy the same things while I couldn't look at how we ended up using all the 40,000 points in one day!
There was one week until our next examination so the school can see how well we've adapted after a week. Until then, we would have to survive on these bare conditions! This was the first time I was thankful for the exams.
At least I got to sleep in for tomorrow because it was the weekend that started from tomorrow like my previous life. After taking a blissful shower, I flopped onto the bed and fell asleep.
Well at least that was the ideal situation that I was planned to be in, but I couldn't sleep. I was too anxious about getting enough points that I caught Luke after his shower and dragged him into the study room in the library.
After making Luke sit down while I passed his backpack in front of the table, I went out of the room to pull out some books from the dimensional library based on the content on the exams that we had today. I nonchalantly went back inside the study room to slam a huge pile of books on the table. Eventually, the pile of books resembled Luke's height. Fortunately, Luke looked way too tired to ask where I got these books from and just grabbed a book to start reading.
I ended up choosing a book from the pile while sitting down and took a sheet of paper and a pencil out of my backpack. I was still not used to the highly-developed ways of studying tools in the first district as I preferred to study using the old-fashioned way.
The study room fell into a silent atmosphere for the next twelve hours, until I fell asleep while reading as the world around me faded into black.

I was captured and put onto a stake to be lit on fire as part of the ongoing witch hunt conducted throughout the land. I had to do something. But, this life really sucked. 

This all started when I was accidentally killed by God. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill you. It was just that I was overworked lately by my superior and I just wanted some time to relax and vent my stress out," he confessed.

"So, while I was snacking, I accidentally dropped one potato chip into the human realm where the child tripped over the potato chip onto a den of steep stairs." God guilty admitted.

So I reincarnated into the most adorable girl with the largest orange-speckled eyes that contrasted her pale white skin void of any imperfections.

'How could someone look this pretty?' I thought as I admired my new appearance.

I was nowhere close to this pretty in my previous life. Did God put me into this new vessel as an apology?

But some things were too good to be true.

"The nice way is where you willingly come with us back to the first district and the hard way is where we forcibly take you back, which would be hard for all of us," Lucius gave me a warning.

Few months later, I was at a party that I planned to escape from my fiancé’s family.
"I still get to continue with my naps on the weekends?" I tried to confirm with them.
No one answered as I almost cried from giving up my rare nap times from the mess I got involved with. This life was too bothersome!

"Hold on a second," I massaged my temple, trying to subside the throbbing headache that's starting to emerge because of this situation. "So you're telling me, this baby is half-human and half-demon?"
"Correct," Io replied.
"... That's possible?"
"Of course. It's a rare case though," Io hummed, playing with a strand of his hair with his finger.
"B-But how? humans, except for a Coordinator, can't see demons!" I exclaimed.
"Demonic possession,"
"!" I widen my eyes in surprise.
Io smiled. "Humans that are fully possessed by demons. They're living in a human vessel and ate the human's soul."
That makes sense. 
"But why a descendant possessed a human vessel?" I asked.
"I'm guessing since this baby is a descendant of gluttony, the demon who possessed the human vessel wanted to eat human's food," Io said casually. 
"... Wow," I muttered under my breath. 
"It's an extremely rare case, that's why there's little information about Cambions,"
No wonder. I never hear about this when I'm at school. I mean, I bet they're written somewhere in a book. But It's not like I read each and one of the books in this world.
I'm too lazy. 
... I'm blaming Callisto for my laziness. 
"Cambions, that's their name?" 
"Yes. Usually, it happened between a succubus and an incubus,"
"Hehe~ I'm tempted on possessing a human vessel to do it with other human~ Doing it with an incubus is boring," Lavender giggled. I looked at her in disbelief. 
I took a deep breath and massaged my head even more. 
"... So what is he? A human? a demon?" I asked tiredly, implying to the sleeping baby.
"Both," Lilith and Io answered at the same time.
"... So, he'll need milk and stuff?"
"Yes,"
"Poop?"

"... Where are his parents?" I asked. 
Lavender looked at a snake-headed demon. She motioned him to come closer. 
"This ranger is the one who found him~"
The snake-headed demon bowed down to me. "Master, I am Slither. I found this baby abandoned in a forest. His human mother was eaten alive by her husband that got possessed by a descendant of gluttony,"
"... I see. What about that descendant? where did it go?"
"I'm guessing that the descendant is back in hell or another realm. Because when I found the body that the demon possessed, the demon is not in the human's body,"
"Hm," I squinted my eyes.

... I-I can imagine how father would've felt. He already has eight sons. He wouldn't want to take care of one troublesome baby that's not even his. 
"Cambions are also weaker than normal demons because they're still half-human. Another reason why Coordinators wouldn't take them,"

Hm, but it's still half-descendant. Is it worth it to take care of this baby? 
"You're thinking of keeping it?" Christopher asked.

"But brother Chris, past Coordinators have demons as their servants. Why not ask the demons to take care of the cambions?"
"That's true," Christopher hummed. "But as I said before, dear little brother, they're weaker than normal demons. It's not worth keeping them. Ack, I sounded very cruel there. I forgot that cambions are still half-human," He said, feeling flustered.
He's right. That baby is still part human.
I leaned back to the sofa with my arms crossed, thinking.

Using these connections, she was probably plotting something in order to ensure that her son became the next king. Also, my spies have noticed that the formerly separate eastern countries planned to unite. Together, they pose no threat to us as they are now. Even if they all united, our empire was still stronger, but I should keep checking on this new development.
[Edmond]: Is Hawkeye in the city?
[James]: Yes, he is currently in the secret location, waiting for further orders.

James jumped out of the window. After I watched him disappear into the night, I took a bath and asked the maid to pour the wine into a glass. I took the glass of wine and retreated to the open window. The fresh air was welcoming and the stars shone brightly. The silence welcomed me as my mind became one with peace.
The next day, at the break of dawn, I set out towards the woods. I covered my head with a hood and maneuvered through the city, making sure that no one followed me along the way. Deep inside the forest stood a lonely cabin. Similar to any typical wooden cabin, this one had a door, two windows, and minimal dusty, old furniture.
However, this cabin was, in fact, the last remaining relic of a legendary city. This ancient civilization was built on rocks and marble, and the first humans were rumoured to have lived here. Now, the city exists only in old, legendary stories that parents told to their children at night. In the stories, impressive towers stood high in the sky, reaching the heavens. Men as, beautiful as angels, walked on earth. It was nothing more than an entertaining fairy tale to me, until I found this cabin. A small labyrinth laid beneath it, so deep that spiral stairs were hidden underground to reach the rooms at the bottom. Upon stumbling on this area, I decided to make it my secret headquarters, where my forces would meet and discuss of my future plans.
I hid the horse in a thicket nearby, then entered the cabin. The inside of the room above ground had a shelf filled with dusty, old books. Only one carpet graced the
floor in the center. I approached the bookshelf, tracing my finger through the books until I reached one book, named Ethos. I pulled it out, specifically flipping to page 233. A small key laid inside, nestled within the pages. After plucking the key out, I slid the book back onto the shelf.
Then, I investigated the large carpet, locating a small keyhole amid the elaborate pattern. Upon inserting and turning the key, a handle revealed itself. I turned the handle to trigger a mechanism, which sinks sections of the floorboards into the shape of a flight of descending stairs. Once the mechanism stopped moving, I stepped inside and made my way down the spiral staircase until I reached a door. I knocked two times, paused, then knocked one last time. Soon, the sound of more mechanisms unlocking the door echoed through the space as the door opened on its own.
[Hawkeye]: You took long enough.
[Edmond]: Shut up, old man.
Inside, James stood alongside two figures, who wore masks and hoods. Both of the figures bowed down.
[????]: Glory to the king. How may we serve you?
[Edmond]: Infiltrate the queen's quarters and relay to me what happens. If your cover is blown, escape at all costs.
[???]: Your wish is our command.
At this, they both left the room, leaving one assassin behind.
[James]: There are no further reports your highness.
[Edmond]: Hawkeye, you're in charge of security and interrogation. Find skilled people to act as guards, place them secretly around the city. Place a few around this area, as well. If they find a prisoner, interrogate them, then kill them.
[Hawkeye]: How about the assassins? Should we leave them be?
[Edmond]: They all act under my jurisdiction. Don't worry about them. That is it. I dismiss you all. I will notify you of any changes when the time comes.
I left the room and made my way back out of the cabin. Outside, one of the assassins had already prepared my horse for me. I mounted it, then rode out of the area. I knew the King may announce the race for the crown anytime soon. I must win at all costs, or else my sacrifices would have been made for nothing. I took some time to return back to the palace. As I arrived at the stables and left my reins in the hands of a stable boy, I saw Alex walking around frantically, ordering guards around the palace
[Alex]: LOOK FOR HIM! I DON'T CARE HOW YOU DO IT.
I took the opportunity born from this chaos to sneak into the palace. Today was already tiresome, and it became worse when a pile of papers greeted me in my office.
[Edmond]: Why didn't I finish them yesterday?
I walked around the office and quietly sat in the chair behind my desk. Minutes later, I heard footsteps from someone approaching the door.
[Alex]: I need a raise. That prince will be the death of me.
Alex entered the office, looking like a zombie.
[Edmond]: Just apply for a raise. I am sure the King will favour you.
At hearing the blunt answer, Alex whipped his eyes towards the desk and saw me sitting there, holding my chin.
[Alex]: Your Highness, when did you get here?
His face had a funny expression, a cross between being embarrassment and surprise.
[Edmond]: Hahaha, what do you mean by that? I was always inside my office.
I answered while laughing at him.
[Alex]: Your Highness, I checked the office before and it was empty.
Alex's expression turned even more confused.
[Edmond]: Perhaps you're blind.
I smiled at Alex, who suddenly rushed towards me.
[Alex]: Your Highness, you have to hurry. The King requested an audience with you.
I quickly stood up and asked.
[Edmond]: Where is he?
[Alex]: He is waiting for you in the council room.
I exited the office and strode towards the centre of the palace.
[Edmond]: You took long enough.
My mind automatically imagined the different possibilities for which the King would summon me. After passing through several corridors, I approached an oak door that was adorned with a carving of our empire's emblem. It was a very dignified emblem, depicting two lions holding a large shield between them, with two swords crossing in between. The shield's surface was divided into four sections: the top left had a knight's helmet that symbolized our military strength, wheat on the top right represented our farmers, a gryphon on the bottom left symbolized our pride, and finally the goddess of wisdom stood on the bottom right to symbolize our vast knowledge.
As I entered, a familiar sight greeted me: a long table with six seats on both sides. One slightly larger chair was positioned at the far end. The king sat in that larger chair. The head representatives of the most powerful noble families sat on the king's right-hand side, while high-ranking royal advisors and leaders of the arm sat on the left of him.
[Edmond]: Father, did you call for me?
One of the heads of the noble families looked at me with disgust.
[Earl]: You don't have the king's blood, Edmond. You dare address the king this poorly?
The king raised his left arm, and the noble fell into silence.
[Michael]: How have you been?
I bowed and replied.
[Edmond]: I am of perfect health father.
Silence filled the entire room. Then, the king coughed to break the silence and continued. [Michael]: Your brother will be arriving with the queen shortly, so please, have a seat.
I slowly walked towards one of the empty seats on the left, since I was the General of the North, and I had no actual noble blood. Behind every general stood a knight in silver armour, bearing their respective crest.
[Christopher]: Where is your knight, Your Highness?
One of the generals sarcastically asked.
[Edmond]: I killed him. I found his screams irritating.
I coldly answered back.
[Christopher]: YOU DARE TREAT THE ROYAL KNIGHTS THIS WAY??!!
He raised his voice in anger. I sipped from a cup of tea that was on the table in front of me, then looked at him with eyes of displeasure. I quietly responded.
[Edmond]: I never knew dogs could bark so loudly. Do you need a leash?
He gritted his teeth in anger, then looked at the king.
[Michael]: Take your seat, Christopher.
Defiant, he quietly sat down.
[Christopher]: Please forgive me for my behaviour, Your Majesty.
Right then, a guard entered.
[Guard]: Queen Elena and The Crown Prince Cesar.
I looked towards the door, like everyone else, as the two figures stepped forward.
The fun begins.
I thought, as my lips curved into a smile. The nobles were very satisfied with the duo's appearance, while the generals – except Christopher – wore blank expressions. The Queen's gaze rested on me for a moment. I smiled back sarcastically. She was in a bad mood

Days passed, and as River planned, Margaretta had clearly shown the skeletons in the Bleer family's closet. Nicholas was accused of many crimes, but the finale was only just coming. 
River and Christopher took many tools used for experimenting from Margaretta's laboratory and forced her to show them the paperwork for the adopted children as well as for those illegally acquired. 
It amounted to three adopted children, of which only Melody was alive and safe, and twenty three children obtained through human trafficking. Of those twenty three, fourteen were in the pods, long dead, while nine were living in an abandoned house that was actually near River's former villa. 
When Christopher went to pick them up, he was disgusted by the situation. All of the children were on the verge of starving, filthy, thirsty, and exhausted beyond measure. Their faces were pale, lips dry, and underarms riddled with syringe holes. 
He didn't know whether they were the wounds from being drugged or blood 'donations'. He hid them in a storehouse nearby and fed them a minimum that they could handle. 
The day after, Margaretta admitted to having illegally acquired children and abused them. 
Police and hospitals took care of it, but Christopher knew they'd soon be seeing them at the IMHM. The burial ceremony for twins was grand, and half the town gathered, whether to gossip or mourn. 
The happy couple was arrested and thrown into jail immediately, and two nights later, their house burned to the ground, showing the secret basement. 
When firefighters went in to investigate, they howled in fear and ran away, calling the police to handle the matter. Police didn't react any better. Some vomited on the spot, two fainted, and just one was barely holding on, calling for specialists and further back-up. 
Populace wouldn't know what they found in the basement until a month later, and from then on, the dividing line between rich, middle class, and poor was firmly drawn. 
Many of the so-called rich people went away after donating enormous amounts of money, while the ones that stayed underwent a big investigation, as the police indeed found a record that Nicholas kept of his customers. 
Some were arrested, while the ones that were proven innocent had been washed white but still couldn't properly integrate into the society. In just five days, all of this happened, and the shock the town had was tremendous. 
It was certain that it would all go down in history books.
During these five days, River and Christopher were idle, except for a nightly excursion to the laboratory and helping Melody recover. 
In the end, Melody went back to the orphanage to stay there until her legal age, but the orphanage kept one thing a secret from her. 
Leeroy dealt with most of the paperwork that came and went, leaving it on the River's desk to sign it, while Daria went and visited the children that survived on daily basis, sometimes even going several times a day. Her first case had left traces on her. 
She wasn't in a mood to make sarcastic remarks, she scolded nurses that slacked off on tending to 'her' children, and her reddish eyes suggested either excessive crying or alcoholism. Nobody knew, as she was decisive as always. 
Leeroy did try helping her go through all of that, but he received harsh refusals one after another, leaving him helpless. At least, he made sure that she had proper meals. 
Margaretta Bleer died under suspicious circumstances, as her heart had been poked through like a pin cushion, while her husband went crazy. 
He screamed that 'ace' would come reap his essence, but nothing ever happened.
The moment River and Christopher finally relaxed in the apartment on the eve of the fifth day, the gross doorbell disturbed them. River stood up and went to open the door, but he was tackled at the waist when he did. 
A head of dark brown hair was buried in his stomach and was crying hideously. It was Lily.
"River, River, River…" Her chanting his name as if it were a prayer made him feel nervous. What happened? 
He pried her from his waist and brought her up in his arms. She then latched onto his neck and continued crying. He brought her to the living room and sat down until she calmed down a bit. 
Christopher, who was a witness to this situation, had a sour feeling in his heart. 
Why did he show pity and love towards a child like this, but couldn't even say a word for the decapitated twins? He didn't even show up on the day of their funeral, saying he has something urgent to do. 
River patted her back rhythmically, and soon felt her breathing get steady and heartbeat slow down. 
"Whitey, what happened?" River's stomach started churning, a sign of something bad about to happen. He signed to Christopher to prepare. Christopher slowly went to get his jacket. 
He too, however reluctantly, wanted to know what happened. 
The child reeked of that smell. That acrid, garbage out of dumpster smell. She was affected by it. 
But, was it her or her brother that was the main target of the smell? He could only commend her for still looking healthy despite the smell she was soaked in. That could be a sign that it was the brother who was in trouble. 
As he went back, he saw River lifting up Lily's shirt, and then he saw greenish marks from her collarbones to her belly. It was like a cat's scratch. The four lines covered her upper body and black pus oozed out of them. 

"A curse…" Those words unknowingly flowed out of Christopher's mouth. Even he was startled by them, let alone River and Lily. 
She screeched and hid into River's embrace, while River paled as he looked at him. He smiled crookedly, his mouth half open, as if wanting to wail. 
"Harris, guess what?" 
Christopher's spine shivered in fear. He wasn't scared of the River himself, but the smell that started enveloping him. It tried penetrating his shield made out of fragrance if pomegranate. 
He gestured for River to continue. River put Lily next to him on the couch and lifted his jumper. 
"It's contractable, too. Harris, it hurts quite a bit…"
River's face contorted as he endured the pain, and Lily's scream pierced the room. She saw River's chest and abdomen. Shallow marks that slowly turned green were wriggling on the surface of his skin. 
"River, River! M-mine didn't hurt. They just, they were just there when I changed my clothes. River, help me, please…" 
They heard a dull sound as she spoke. All of them shut up, trying to concentrate on it. Seconds passed as they listened closely for the sound. 
When they understood that it wouldn't appear anymore, they relaxed. River opened his mouth to ask Lily where her brother was, but as he did, another dull sound as if a piece of wood fell was heard. 
Christopher looked slowly at River.
"Try speaking again." If it happened again, they would know where the sound came from. 
River did and the sound came out of his throat. River put his hand over his throat in shock. 
He looked at Christopher, asking for answers with his eyes. 
Christopher stepped back and shook his head, "I have no idea. I wasn't the one who placed it. Your smell is trying to protect you, but the curse is on the counter-attack." He crossed his arms, feeling at unease. 
"Remember that I said you reeked of an acrid smell when you came back from their apartment a while ago? Well, that same smell is trying to fully infect you with the curse right now. It seems that it's spreadable by physical contact. Don't touch me." 
River's hands formed into fists, his temper rising. 
A curse? Someone dared to curse him and people close to him? 
He slowly stood up and went to the full body mirror in his room to see how it looked. It was gruesome, he concluded. 
The scratches were trying to settle, but they couldn't, so they continued wriggling in vain. His skin wasn't deeply penetrated so there was no pus, but the green colour started spreading around his torso. 
Four scratches, green wounds, black pus… Signs of poison. It hurt because he resisted. Beside him, the only person this would hurt would be the direct recipient of it. 
The trick was, the curse wouldn't be visible to the recipient himself, so it was usually hard to determine who the original victim was. But now, it was obvious. 
Mayne was in danger.
