"Sperm... No!" Kiera's eyes opened as wide as it gets as she was shocked by the dream she had. She clutched her chest and sit up straight,  "Ha, ha," she breathes fast and was still looking for more air. 


Inhale... Exhale...


After she calms down, she looked around. 


"This..." She was stunned to see the place she's at. She's in a big red bed in a big room full of red walls. "Am I in a horror house? Well, being a sperm is much scarier than staying in this place... Where am I?"


"No! You are not in a horror house! That's a wrong theme!" Suddenly, there was a voice that she couldn't find.


Looking around, she still couldn't find that voice, "Where are you? And who are you?"


"Tsk, I'm your system and I am talking to you through telepathy. Now, we don't have much time as it's almost midnight. Listen, you are a Santa." The voice blurted it out.


Kiera was astounded, "I'm what?" She stood up and went to a big red framed mirror which stunned her. "I'm a man! I don't know which is worse, being a sperm or being a man!"


"Sigh," the voice interrupted her and urged her to move. "We don't have much time, as I said, you are in Santa's body right now. And your mission is to give gifts to the people that Santa forgotten to send on Christmas Eve. Technically, Christmas is over but Santa felt bad for the people he has forgotten, hence, he asked for this!"


Kiera frowned looking in the mirror, "Do Santa drinks a lot? He sure has a big tummy..."


"Grr, nevermind that! There's only one hour left before December 27th midnight, chop-chop! Get the gifts and give them to the kids! There will be a reward if this mission is successful... But if not, punishment is waiting!" The system said in an authoritative tone.


"Punishment? Oh no, I don't want to become a sperm again! Alright, I'm moving! What a bossy!" Kiera picked up the three red gifts beside the bed and went out. However, there was no one here.


"All elves and reindeers are having a family gathering, it was their day off." The system informed her.


Kiera's eyes twitch, "How am I supposed to deliver gifts!" 


"Well, there was one horse outside..." The system suggested.


Kiera clicked her tongue and ran out, it's better than walking!


Then she remembered, "I don't know how to ride a horse..." 


"It's fine, Santa knows!" 


What?


"Whatever," She rode the horse and unexpectedly her body, well, Santa's body knows how to! And more, the horse can fly!


She didn't know how long she flew but she arrived at the island where she would give the first gift. Then went directly to the house that list address said to.


She peeks at the window and saw a couple who was watching a show. Then she peeked at the upper window, the kid isn't there. She looked around but the kid wasn't there! 


"I don't have time to hide and seek game!" She opened the window where the kid was supposed to sleep and put the triangle gift on her bed. 


Then rode back to the horse then left. 


As soon as she left the island, she saw something else. In the ocean near the cave, there was a big rock and two people... Well, one and a half...


A woman... trying to eat a merman...


The merman was unconscious and covered with kelp, while the woman put salt and pepper at him. 


'Is she gonna eat... him? Literally?'


Then, the woman turned her gazed on Kiera, ignoring the fact that she was flying while riding a horse "Do you want some?"


Kiera blinked, her mouth agape, "Ah, nope. Eat well, and happy holidays!" 


"Belated Merry Christmas too!" The woman waved at her while holding a fork.


Kiera shook her head. Then she went to the next address. It was a little far that took 20 minutes to fly to that place. 


In the city, there was a huge mansion surrounded by a forest. This place is still part of the city.


She looked around and carefully, the place is full of security, hence, she was careful to find the room of the kids. 


She looked around until she found it... "Why is it far and in the end? Are they being mistreated?" She shook her head, it wasn't her problem.


She carefully opened the window and put the remaining two gifts on two beds. Suddenly, she heard a click. She immediately left the room and peek by the window. 


There, a bookshelf was opened and two toddlers came out... with a bloody ax? Seriously, it's still Halloween, right?


The girl who was holding an ax with blood sneered, there were also butterflies fluttering around her, "Keke, who told them to mess with us? Right, brother?"


A baby boy who was holding red milk nodded. 


"Is that milk or blood?" Kiera whispered but it was heard. 


"Who's there?!" The girl shouted and went directly to the window and open it! Of course, Kiera rode on the horse instantly and flew in a different direction before going back.


She went back to the room where she woke up and laid down. That was scary... and exciting!


Then, she talked to the voice in her mind, "I delivered it! Now, where's my reward! Wait, I should have a gift too!"


The system responded, "Well, congratulation my dear guest! For completing the mission! Now, your reward is... Going back to the sperm race! Good luck!"


"Wait, what?! I don't want to be a sperm again!"


BEEP!

" Damien!" Kimia screeched for the third time today.
I groaned and hit my head on the table.
" Yes my love?"
" My love?, Are you being sarcastic?"
I rolled my eyes and pulled her closer.
" No I am not. You're the love of my life therefore, you are my love."
I kissed her forehead and she smiled. I would have hugged her if it hadn't been for her protruding belly.
" Well, I just wanted to remind you that you need to-"
" Set the table. I know, it's already done."
" What about the-"
" Presents?, Already wrapped and under the tree."
" And the-"
" Chicken?, I checked on it a couple minutes ago and it's almost done so I reduced the heat. And I already got the wine that Henry likes. Happy?"
She started tearing up and my eyes widened.

" Mia!, Baby I'm sorry. Ssssh! Don't cry, I-I-I-didn't mean it like that! I'm an idiot, I know. Please forgive me."

I chuckled.

" I should be the one asking for my idiot best friend." Jason piped up as he entered the house with his twin daughters in tow.
" Amelia!, Amaia! Come give uncle Damien a big hug."
The energetic toddlers ran into my open arms giggling. Amelia was tugging on my hair while Amaia was squishing my cheeks together.
Although the girls shared the same physical features of their mother's thick brown hair and their father's brown eyes, their personalities were completely different. Amelia being the first, was calm but mischievous like her father while Amaia was sweet but emotional like her mother.
" Girls come sit." Their mother called and they finally freed me from their clutches.
Tobi was the next to arrive with her boyfriend, Kai.
Shocked?
Well things didn't exactly go as planned. 
Daxon died while he was on a mission in France. It tore Tobi apart. Sometimes life could be cruel. I'm just glad she found a confidant in Kai.
" Uncle Damien." Mira greeted as she hugged me.
" Hey Mira. Merry Christmas."
" Aunt Kim." She moved to hug my wife who had just walked into the room. Well, she actually hugged her legs.
" Merry Christmas."
" Merry Christmas sweetie."
Miguel poked his head into the room and I saw a small smile creep onto his lips. I turned to my wife and could already see the wheels turning in head. She was already planning their wedding in her head.
" Kimia." I heard a booming voice call and tensed.
I was always slightly nervous whenever Henry was around. Maybe it's cause he's not only my father-in-law, but also because he's the minister of defence and indirectly, my boss.
" Henry, Nina, merry Christmas."
" How are you?"
" I'm great."
" Are you sure?, Has he been treating you well?"
" Henry!" Nina exclaimed.
" I'm just joking, he knows that. Right Myers?"
" Yes sir."
He chuckled and gave me a firm pat on the back.
" How are you son?"
" I'm great."
Nina pulled me in for a warm hug and I smiled. My parents arrived a while later and dinner began.

I placed my hand on Mia's thigh and smiled as I watched everyone converse. Everyone present in the room was family. Kimia and I brought us all together and I felt very proud of that. 
I tugged on Kimia's hand and pulled her up.
" Come on."
I walked in front and she waddled behind causing me to chuckle. I didn't have to look back to know she was glaring daggers into the back of my head.
" Ahh, you brought the Mrs." Diego mused as Kimia sat.
" Diego." Mia greeted with a green.
" Kimia, you look as beautiful as ever.
I could see the smile on her lips visibly widen and glared at Diego.
" I'm sure the screen is doing you no justice-"
" Quit flirting with my wife." I stated and he chuckled.
" How are you?" Kimia asked softly.
" I've been better but…I'll be fine. You don't have to worry about me."
" It's kind of hard not to, you're family."
I could see tears shimmering in his eyes.
" Thank you."
" Merry Christmas Diego." I said softly and he smiled.
" Merry Christmas Damien."

After another video call with Fransisco, Mia and I went down.
" May I have everyone's attention?" I asked pulling my wife closer and slightly raising my glass."
" Alright, thank you. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who's seated here. Thank you for being here, for being part of this family. Everyone present here is family to Kimia and I. Everyone here had a role to play in our love story and I really appreciate it. Because had it not been for you, I would've never met the love of my life.
Some are not here in with us, due to some circumstances beyond them. And though some can not be with us in flesh, they are here with us…in the spirit."
Kimia wiped a lone tear while Tobi let out a sob.
" These years we've spent together have been amazing. So tonight, I want us to raise our glasses and make a toast. A toast to the bleak nights that turned into day, and to the friends… that turned into family. Cheers."
" Cheers!"
We, the adults all downed our champagne while Kimia and the children downed sparkling cider.
" I love you Mia." I mumbled against her lips as we swayed to the music. I never wanted her to forget how much I love her.
Kimia and I had come a long way together.
Our experiences had molded us and made us stronger. Even though we had our ups and downs, we were still very much in love with each other. And everyday, our love waxed stronger.

If anyone had told me that years ago that the meeting that was held at the Pentagon would've changed my life, I would have never believed them. But here I am, the happiest I have been in my entire life

I heard liquid splatter on the floor and I sighed.
" I'll go get the mop. Can we all just not spill anymore drinks?"

Three years now, Jennifer Smith had been traveling home by bus for the Christmas holidays. Everybody in her family thought she was crazy to put herself through the emotions this trip had been caussheng her. Her father had offered to buy her plane ticket which she refused. For her, it wasn't about money.
 
It was her way of honouring her sweet child who was no longer with her. Making the journey this way always settled the turbulent sea of her soul and made her feel closer to her dead child in a way that no other means of transportation could.
Some said it was morbid to retrace the route to my hometown in the Rockies, to travel the same roads she'd traveled with baby inside of her. But she relished the trip as a way of renewing my wavering belief that the choice she'd made was the right one.
In the middle of her sophomore year at a small Midwestern college, she wasn't the right person to give her the best in life. Although she was sure of her love for her, she knew she couldn't provide the baby with a stable life. So she'd returned to the sanctuary of my parents' home for the last six weeks of my pregnancy. . . .
Suddenly, the bus rattled through a pothole, and she was jostled from her reverie, taking a look outside. The afternoon sun shone weakly through low gray clouds that threatened snow before the night was over. The prairie grass was brown and matted, lying low as if hugging the ground for warmth.
The traffic alongside the bus had increased, which meant they were approaching another town. The repetition of short stops and cookie-cutter bus stations was soothing. She liked knowing that not too many miles farther along the road would be a well-lit, warm room where I could stretch my legs and buy a cup of cocoa.
Bus travel was as anonymous as I wanted it to be. Jennifer made the decision to either talk with her fellow passengers, or maintain my distance. On this particular trip, she was thankful that the bus wasn't too crowded, and for several hours, she enjoyed a whole seat to myself. Mostly, she was just glad that the other travelers were also going solo—military personnel, college students, and seniors—not families.
Christmas was always the hardest time of year for her. Seeing happy families enjoying each other chipped away at her belief that she'd done the right thing. She worried that her adoptive parents couldn't possibly love her as much as she did. That year, her baby would be almost two. To save her sanity, she'd been having to pretend that toddlers were invisible. At shopping malls, Jennifer kept her eyes straight ahead, not daring to let her gaze dip down to the huge eyes, rounded cheeks, and dimpled smiles beaming up at her from strollers and carriages everywhere.
After another short stop, at which she got off the bus momentarily to take advantage of the station's rest rooms, my bus's departure was announced over the intercom, and she hurried back aboard. The bus creaked and moaned as it waddled away from the station. One more city left behind them She thought.
Settling into her seat once again, she concentrated on the passing scenery through the window. Ten minutes passed in pleasant viewing before she heard the baby's first cry.
Someone with a small child must've boarded at the last city. Whenever she heard a baby's cry, her whole body went on alert, fighting her natural impulse to get close to that sound. The fussing sounds spun her thoughts back to the reason for her trek.
Three years before, she'd hoped for a quiet holiday spent in the loving atmosphere of family in hee childhood home. Her baby had had different ideas.
Content with the last-minute excitement of holiday baking and gift wrapping, she'd ignored the first labor twinges and promised herself that she'd put her feet up as soon as the next batch of cookies was done. But before she realized what was happening, Mama had taken one look at Jennifer's hand bracing her lower back, bundled me into the car, and driven me to the local hospital. She'd stayed right by Jennifer's side, whispering words of encouragement and telling her how proud she was of her.she'd clung to her words as tightly as I'd clung to her hand.
Not prepared for how the act of giving birth would touch her soul's most primal depths, Jennifer had started wishing that she could keep the baby, that she'd find a way to make a life for them. But Mama brought her back to reality. From then on, she'd tried to believe that letting her baby be adopted was truly the best choice—for both of them.

After loosing her baby, Jennifer Smith had been traveling home for the new year ceebrstion by road.
This year, everything changes.

Roselle pounded her first into her own knee. "You should have told us! I can't believe it. Dad is . . ." Now she was sobbing too, and Armani held her. She surrendered herself to him and cried in his chest.
Mrs. Reyes put her hand on her daughter's shoulder. "Go home and rest. I'll take care of him."
"No. I'm staying. I want to see him."
"He's sleeping. He's doing better than before, but they want to keep him here overnight just to be sure. Go home. It'd be nice to have a Christmas breakfast to look forward to tomorrow, right?"
She sighed. "Fine."

When they got home, they all sat in the living room together, eating cold leftovers in silence. Though the Christmas decorations were present and beautiful, and though it was Christmas Eve, it was hard for anyone to feel cheery with everything going on.
"Why don't we play a game to get our minds off of things?" Dan suggested.
"Yeah." Armani nudged Roselle, who was picking at her plate. "It could be fun. What do you say?"
She shrugged. "I mean, I guess so. How about you, Michelle?"
Her sister nodded. "Yeah. I'm in serious need of a distraction right now."
Dan got up. "I'll get the wine."
"I'll get the glasses," Armani volunteered.

After they had their glasses poured, the foursome settled down in the living room, the fireplace crisping its branches rhythmically. The sisters awaited the boys' instructions.
"We're going to play a game called 'never have I ever'," Dan said. 
"The rules are simple." Armani gestured his hand in a circular motion. "We go around each saying something we've never done, and if you've done it, you need to take a sip of wine."
Michelle raised her hand.
"Yes?"
"This is actually my first time having wine!"
Dan gaped his jaw. "Oh yeah, I forgot. You're only nineteen. Do you want cranberry juice instead?"
"And let you guys have all the fun? No way. I'll start. Never have I ever drank wine."
The other players took a sip.
"My turn," said Dan. He rubbed his hand through his curly locks. "Never have I ever been on TV."
Roselle and Armani took a sip.
"When were you on TV?" Michelle asked her sister.
"Apparently the time I was at that fashion show, it was televised." Roselle's turn. She peered at Armani through the corner of her eye. There was something she actually wanted to know about him. "Never have I ever slept with Lily Strobe."
No one took a sip.
She raised a brow. "Wait, seriously?"
Armani shrugged. "I'm not ashamed to say I've never done it at all with anyone. It's not that I don't want to, but I've always had something going on, so I've never had the opportunity before."
"How does Lily feel about it?"
"Well, I think she��s okay with it. We've agreed to have our first time be when we're married."
Roselle's mind flashbacked to the time when Eliot told her about Lily cheating on Dylan five times. She had a gut feeling, but kept it to herself. 
"My turn." Armani gave a sly smile to Roselle. "Never have I ever slept with the Prime Minister of Canada."
She shook her head, but Michelle took a sip. She and Dan gawked at her. "YOU DID WHAT?!" Roselle screamed.
Dan looked away and took a never-ending sip from his own glass.
Michelle chuckled. "Okay, no I didn't. I just wanted to try this wine, but no one was saying something that I've done." She stuck her tongue out. "It's so bitter by the way."
Everyone in the room laughed with relief--even the secret service guys.
They all spent the rest of the evening playing the game. It was pleasant, and did indeed help the Reyes sisters get their mind off of things.

"What's this?"
Everyone, who was still in the living room, woke up to Mr. Reyes' voice.
Michelle ran up to him and jumped in his arms. "Daddy!"
He looked at Roselle, perhaps expecting her to have the same reaction, but she didn't. She crossed her arms. "Hi, Dad," she said, with a clear tone and malice in her voice.
Dan and Armani exchanged glances.
"Why don't you and I start cooking breakfast?" Armani asked him.
Dan, who didn't have his hearing aids in, put them in his ears and turned them on. "I don't know what you just said, but let's so make breakfast."
Armani nodded. "Good idea."
Once the boys were in the kitchen, the Reyes family had the space to have a serious conversation.
"Merry Christmas, by the way," Mr. Reyes said.
Roselle sighed. "Dad, I was worried sick about you. Why didn't you tell me you had cancer? Is that why you've been acting so weird?"
"Have I been acting weird?"
"Uh, yeah. You have so many mood swings now. You'll get angry out of nowhere, then you'll suddenly do a three-sixty and not care at all. When I was a kid you flipped when you found out I had a boyfriend." She pointed at her sister. "And now you want Michelle to have babies and get married?"
Michelle nodded, but she refused to look directly at the conversation.
Their father sighed. "Look, I'm sorry if I was strict when you girls were growing up, but I didn't want you two to make the same mistakes your mother and I did. We were just teenagers when we got pregnant with you. When I got cancer, it made me realize that life is too short to care about petty things. That's why I'm acting so different now. I'm trying to focus on what matters."
Roselle bobbed her head. "Dad, as crazy as you can be sometimes, I know your heart has always been in the right place."
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I didn't want to ruin Christmas for you."
"Well, it's a little late for that, isn't it? We were all so worried when you were suddenly in the ambulance with no explanation. We're not kids anymore. Promise me you'll tell us important things from now on, okay?"
"Alright."
They hugged, and Michelle and Mrs. Reyes joined in.

Everyone had breakfast, then it was time to gather around the tree and open gifts. They all took turns.
Michelle opened her gift from Dan. "Hey, an American Sign Language dictionary!"
"You said you were interested in learning it, so I got you something to help you out. Open it! There's another gift inside."
She opened the book, and there was a gold seashell necklace within it. "Aww, babe, that's so cute." She pecked him on the cheek. "I love you. Wait, no." She signed 'I love you' to him in sign language.
"Roselle's turn!" her mother beamed.
She looked at all the gifts. "Hmm. Which one should I open?"
"Why don't you open mine?" asked Armani.
"I guess so." She plucked up a gift that was in shiny, rose gold wrapping paper. Wow. What a fancy pants. She carefully peeled the tape from the edges.
"Don't do that! Tear it up like you used to do when we were seven!"
She tore the paper as politely as one could tear something, and opened the cardboard box. INSIDE THAT BOX . . . was another box. It was beautiful though. It was a rose gold plated one with an antique design.
"Woah," she said, smoothing her fingers over the grooves and designs. She opened the box, and beautiful music played. There was a tiny mirror, and an antique, rose gold hairbrush. She took it out and admired its colors, jewels, and crest. "It's so beautiful, Armani." She held it close to her heart and smiled. "I love it."
"You should open Roselle's present next," Michelle suggested. "I wanted to get you a tie, but she had something else in mind."
Roselle blushed. "Oh no, not that." She hid her face with her hands. "It's probably really stupid compared to this gift."
Against her words, Armani picked up Roselle's present and ripped the wrapping paper off. It was a toy train for toddlers. For a moment, he was expressionless. "No way."
"I--Well--Um, I heard that when you went to a foster home you couldn't take your toys, and when we were kids, this was your favorite one. I just thought--"
 He swooped in to give her a warm, tight embrace. "You have no idea how much this means to me, Ro. Really." He looked upon the gift. "This is the same model as my old train that I named Choo-Choo. I'll call this one Choo-Choo Junior." He hugged the toy.
Mrs. Reyes started crying.
Roselle panicked. "Uh, Mom? You okay?"
"It's just so cute!" She sobbed more. "Choo-Choo Junior? WAH!"
They all laughed together and opened more gifts. It was such a beautiful moment, all until Roselle got a new text.
