Half an hour later, the pair made their way back across the lake to the lodge.  Scott retreated to the office to work on plans for the wilderness school.  Jackie toured the newly rebuilt cabins with the head contractor.  About halfway through the tour, Blake and Amy joined them.

You might as well get started on the reno of my cabin, he told Jackie.

She frowned at him.  Are you sure?

He nodded.  By the time we get back, our house will be finished.  Amy and I have packed everything.  Ill get Scott to help me move the important things into storage.

He gazed toward the cabin and sighed.  That place holds a lot of good memories.  Wrapping an arm around Amy and planting a kiss on the top of her head, he continued.  But well make new memories.  That cabin is larger than the others.  It can be made into a premium rental.

If youre sure, Jackie reluctantly agreed.  Scott is in the office working on his business.  Im sure he wouldnt mind giving you a hand.

Blake beamed at her.  Great!  No time like the present.  Ill see you ladies later.

They watched Blake lope off toward the main lodge.

Shall we put that cabin on the list? the contractor asked.

Jackie nodded.  It seems so.  Well keep it in the same theme as the others, but maybe you could do a few upgrades?

I understand completely, the man agreed.  Ill just He tapped a note into his tablet.  There.  Now that were finished with the rebuilds, the renovations on the existing cabins should go quickly.  Were reallocating the large machinery to the house builds at the ends of the compound.  I see both of you moving into your homes by mid-fall.

Perfect, Amy said.  That works great.

Together, Jackie and Amy made their way back toward the lodge.  Amy glanced at her watch and grimaced slightly.

Everything okay? Jackie asked.

Yeah, its just  Amy rolled her eyes.  Its scary, the whole parents thing.  I dont even talk to mine, you know?  So now that Jim and Ann are coming back, Im a little nervous.  What if they decided dont like me?

Dont be silly, of course they like you.  Why wouldnt they?

Just the way we met.  You know.  Hello.  Im Amy, Im going to marry your son.  She rolled her eyes again.

Dont be silly.  As they get to know you, theyre going to love you.

Amy huffed.  Im not so sure.

Jackie took Amys hand and patted it.  Theyre going to love you for the same reason I do.  You make Blake happy.

Amy gazed at Jackie intensely, as if deciding whether to believe her.

Jackie had to laugh.  Trust me.  Youll see.

Mommy!  Emma barely waited for the car to stop before she threw open the door and raced up the lodges front steps.

Jackie and Scott had been relaxing in the shade of the front porch.  Hed been showing her his tentative schedule of courses.  When they saw the rental car pulling into the drive, Jackies smile broadened as she stood and waved.

The little girl threw her arms around her mother.  Oh, Mommy, I missed you so much!

Jackie hugged her tightly.  I missed you, too.  Did you have a good time?

It was awesome! Grant said, allowing his mother a hug.  Guess what?  They never turn Niagara Falls off.  Its always on, even in the middle of the night.

And we know this because we got up every night to check, Ann Walker added, laughing.  How are you, sweetie?

Jackie hugged her mother.  Im great.  How was your trip?

Fantastic, Jim Walker boomed.  These kids are terrific travelers.  His gaze moved to Scott, and he proffered a beefy hand.  How are you, Scott?

Scott shook his hand.  Im well, sir.  Glad to hear you had a good time.

We have prizes for you, Mommy, Emma said.  And for you, Mr. Scott.

Prizes? Jackie repeated, feigning surprise.

The little girl nodded solemnly as Ann retrieved a small plastic bag from her oversized purse.  Emma reached into the bag.  This is for you, Mommy.

She handed Jackie a medium-sized plastic snow globe with a panorama of the Niagara Falls skyline.  You shake it, and it snows.

Jackie beamed at her.  This is beautiful!  Thank you so much!

We got this for you, Scott, Grant said, handing him a small plastic shopping bag.

Thats Mr. Scott, Jackie quietly corrected.

Scott reached into the bag and removed a bracelet fashioned of forest green paracord.

Its a survival bracelet, Grant explained proudly.  You can use the string to tie stuff, plus it has a fire starter and a whistle.  And the compass is so you dont get lost.

Removing the tag, Scott fastened the bracelet around his wrist, holding it out so the children could see the compass turning.

The kids thought you could use it for your wilderness school, Ann added, her eyes twinkling.

Jackie watched Scotts eyes fill with emotion as he squatted low.  This is just about the best present anyone ever gave me.  Thank you so much.

Emma enthusiastically threw her arms around Scotts neck.  Youre welcome.

Grant joined in, knocking Scott and Emma to the floor as the trio dissolved into giggles.

Jackie couldnt help laughing, too.  Alright, enough with the pig pile.  Somebody will get hurt.

Aw, Mom! Grant protested as she lifted him off Scott.

Aw, Mom, Scott echoed with an impish grin.

Dont Aw, Mom me.  Lets get your things inside, Jackie laughed.

After the elder Walkers bags and the kids belongings had been deposited in their rooms and everyone returned downstairs, Blake and Amy were waiting for them in the reception area.

Mom!  Pop!  Welcome back, Blake said, wrapping both his parents in a huge hug.

I can never get over my baby being so tall, Ann laughed.  How are you, sweetie?

Im great.  He looked back at Amy, taking her hand.  We both are.

Shyly, Amy stepped forward.  Hello again.

She reached to shake hands, but Ann bypassed her outstretched hand, enveloping her in an affectionate hug.  Its good to see you again, hon.

We thought we might take you on a tour of the new cabins, Blake offered, shooting a glance at Jackie.

I wanna go! Grant shouted.

Me, too! echoed his sister.

Jackie knew Blake and Amy wanted time alone with the elder Walkers, but before she could answer, Scott spoke up.  Why dont we go out on the dock?  I thought I saw some hungry-looking bass out there earlier.

Really? Grant asked, attention diverted.

Scott nodded.  Ill get a rod all ready for you.

Me, too? Emma asked.

Of course!  We wouldnt go anywhere without you.

Scott and the children headed toward the kitchen.  Jackie winked at Blake.  You all go on your tour.  Dinner will be ready in about an hour.

Thanks, sis, well see you in a bit.

Jackie watched as they headed out the front door.  Everything seemed to be falling into place.  She knew Amy was nervous about how Jim and Ann felt about her, but Jackie was positive her parents would grow to love Amy.

In the kitchen, she looked out the window.  Scott and the kids were on the dock, a child seated cross-legged on either side, each holding a short fishing rod hed managed to scrounge from the storage shed.

Scott looked up and saw her watching them.  He gave her his slow, deliberate smile, the one that detonated the tsunami in her core.  He spoke to the kids and they looked up at her, waving wildly.  She laughed and waved back.

Dinner over homemade pizza was a happy, raucous affair.  Excited chatter about the renovations and the upcoming wedding was punctuated with stories of the Niagara Falls adventure.  As Jackie had known they would be, Ann and Jim were delighted with the plans for Blake and Amys wedding.

Dont worry about a thing, my dear, Jim told Amy, we wont tell a soul until you give us the word.

And youll come for the wedding? she asked, her green eyes wide with hope.

We wouldnt miss it for the world, Ann said, patting Amys hand.  Were thrilled to see you and Blake so happy.

While the others cleaned up from dinner, Jackie put Grant and Emma to bed.  They insisted that Scott accompany them, so the four of them marched upstairs for the rituals of putting on pajamas and brushing teeth.

It was decided that Scott should read the bedtime story, so he sat between the children on Emmas bed as he read a Curious George adventure.  As they listened intently, Grant fingered the survival bracelet around Scotts wrist, watching the compass bob and spin.  By the end of the story, Emma was fast asleep, and Grant tiptoed to his own room.

Scott watched from the doorway as Jackie pulled up Grants covers and kissed him lightly.  Goodnight, sweetie.  Im happy to have you home.

Goodnight, Mom.  He looked to the doorway.  Goodnight, Scott.

Goodnight, my man.  Sweet dreams.

Jackie pulled the door closed, smiling up at Scott.  Thanks for the help.

My pleasure.  He pulled her close, lightly pressing a kiss to her lips.  You have a great family.

I do, she agreed.  She wrapped her arms around him.  Im so happy youre moving back tomorrow.

Are you? he asked with an impish look.

She nodded, giggling softly.

Probably just because you think Ill sex you up.  He arched an eyebrow comically.

Well, I assume thats a given.

He looked up as if in deep thought.  Okay, good point, he laughed.

She laughed, too, intertwining her fingers with his and leading him downstairs.

Hello there! I'm taking this week off (Plus this weekend) to write for a Halloween writing contest. As you might have guessed, I'm writing spooky stories for the contest. I know, quite disappointing that I have to stop this for a week just to write a spooky story, but I want to win the contest and all Valerie would do is distract me because I love Valerie more than I love Alaho. (Please don't come and kill me in my sleep Ala)
My break was only supposed to be Friday Saturday and Sunday, but the writing contest came in. If you just like my writing style in general and don't care what it is that I'm writing, here's chapter one of Alaho Christmas.
Chapter 1- Not so fake scary story
On a newspaper sat the headline " 1990 Man mugged in an alley and face cut to pieces while shopping for Christmas toys".
The little section dedicated to the now-dead man read "his eyes were popped out and his face cut open to look like Freddy Cougars face." If you flipped a couple of pages in the newspaper you would find a headline that said "Dead man's body lost".
In 1995 there was a new newspaper with a headline of  "Son of Alaho, who was mugged and killed in 1990, hung himself".
In his little section, it read "his dying wish was to be with his father, who had been dead for 5 years."
Modern-day 2020, some girls were having a sleepover near Christmas time, and one of them thought it would be funny to make up a fake scary story about Alaho, the weird faced dead guy her grandfather told her about.
"Alright girls, gather around. It's time for the best part of a sleepover." Said a girl named Mia "Scary stories!"
An excited group of girls came running and screaming, then sat down in a circle with Mia.
"So, ever heard the story of…  Alaho Christmas?" A flush of "no's" filled the room.
"Well, here it goes." The room quieted down, eager to listen to the story of Alaho Christmas. "So, one night while this guy named Alaho was shopping, he was mugged and killed in an alley."
Whispers wavered under Mia's words.
"His face looked like Freddy Cougars, but he didn't have a mask or eyes or nails. When they were planning his funeral his body wasn't found. Now they say every December 15, he'll come out and steal all the children's clothes and toys, and kill them." Silence filled the room.
"Is there a way to stop him?" One of the girls asked.
"Yes, if you put a toy train on your door, he won't go in and kill you then take your toys and clothes".
One little girl had a question that she couldn't stop from coming out. "Why is he killing children, where is he taking their clothes and toys, how will a toy train stop him?''
Mia laughed hysterically "Oh sweet Ava, he is killing children in order to bring his child back, his only son hung himself 5 years after Alaho's death. He is taking the dead children, the toys, and the clothes to an old abandoned house that used to be his. He takes it there as if he was taking the toys to his already dead son like he was still alive and still living in their old house. A toy train will stop him because that was his son's favorite toy, and it was the toy that was stolen from him in 1990." The girls looked scared, and Mia didn't know why. She was never scared of scary movies and scary stories. She didn't believe they were real, as they weren't.
'Even IT is scarier than this story and I fell asleep watching it. Michael Mayers would crush this story and he makes me think of a bunny.' Mia thought to herself and rolled her eyes while the other girl shook in fear waiting to hear the next part of the story.
In truth her friends were scaredy cats, the story was hardly scary yet they were shivering in fear.
"Well, ladies next Friday the 15th, I hope someone has a toy train." Mia said in a somewhat spooky voice.
The girls screamed and Mia's mom Ms.Lynn walked in.
"What's wrong girls?! What happened?" Ms.Lynn walked in with a still-hot frying pan.
"Oh nothing mom, I just told them a scary story." Mia got up and went to hug her mother.
"Oh, of course, sweetie. It's time for bed girls." Ms.Lynn went to turn on Mia's lamp so that the girls could sleep without being as scared.
"Good night Ms.Lynn." the girls said in unison.
"Good night mom." came from Mia.
"Good night girls, good night sweetie." Ms.Lynn said as she closed Mia's bedroom door.
The next morning the girls left, they all told their parents and sisters and brothers about the story Mia told them. They all looked terrified and told them they wouldn't have to worry because it wasn't true.
One of the girls left their pajamas in Mia's house and she went back to get them. Her brother turned around and chuckled. Then he looked up and saw a man without eyes that looked like Freddy Cougar but without claws or a mask. The man had a blank expression.
He screamed and ran in the opposite direction. He went to Mia's parents and he brought everyone outside. They saw nothing and thought he was pranking them.
"Ah good one son. Next time go bigger, make us just a little scared at least." Mr.Lynn said to the 18-year-old.
He looked shocked, but everyone disguarded it thinking it part of the prank.
"Come on sis, let's get away from lease crazy people." He rushed his little sister into the car and pulled off instantly.
"What was his problem Mama?" Mia asked her mother and looked at her father because she would accept an answer from him as well.
"Teenage boys love to play pranks sweetie." Ms.Lynn said as she locked the front door and headed to the kitchen to start preparing breakfast.
"Oh, well I'm going upstairs to play with my toys. Call me down when it's breakfast please mom." declared Mia as she walked upstairs.
At the time she was only 8, but she wished to become a nurse and she loved playing nurse with her dolls.
She heard footsteps and thought it was her dad coming upstairs so she ignored it and kept playing with her dolls.
Soon enough she heard breathing and thought her dad had choked on something and needed help.
"Daddy, are you okay? Do you need help?" She had her door closed so she opened her door and peeked her head out.
"What was that darling?" Her father asked by yelling up the stairs.
"Oh nothing daddy, I'm just playing." She thought she was just hearing things and so she went back to playing with her dolls.
(Yes I know this isn't scary, but it's chapter one. What did you expect, also yes I did come up with his name and what he does as a vengeful undead man.)

one fateful night the voice of forced a force that everyone knew everyone had fun there to everyone got to do everything they wanted but the children sting felt right they felt like something was there watching them felt like they were being watched in the forest so they tell their mom mom I feel like something is watching me through this Forest I'm scared what should I do said the little girl she said scary stories that are haunting you sweetie go play with your friends but if the thing is real come get me in the adults so she went with her friends and played she said do y'all feel like y'all are being watched in this Forest the other kids felt it too Billy said the belief that went to the thing he's you know there's nobody watching us do you have thoughts are here in your little girl should not be scared what are you a scaredy-cat I thought you were waiting on those scary stories her friend amethyst was like hey that's not nice Billy it feels like you're being watched you don't feel like you're being watched because something's probably eating you alive you screamed and he said no I don't want to be eaten and that's why I thought she said your hay decided to tell Philly don't you listen to them all they are just a bunch of punks Billy Dominick's like yo head that's not very nice yo he was like I don't care they're being mean to him just because he's a bully he probably got bully when he was a kid so it doesn't make any first sentence I get it and doesn't make no fear sense but he will lead them when they work it then you'll have pushed bully off of her and said you bully her because she reads scary stories what kind of bullying are you she asked he comes anyting he died instantly she just pushed him off until the little girls screamed out for the in adults she said  Billy's dead oh my God all the kids where are bakugou and midoriya came up to their daughter and I asked did you kill him and she said no I didn't kill him I was just defending him cuz I thought he was getting bullied but then he then Dominic kirishima and denki son told me the truth so I pushed of all and I said a couple things to be respectful time to respectful thing and all the sudden I just pushed him off because he grabbed my own and then he died bakugou light asking kirishima at that his son he said that was my baby son Dengue was like your daughter should get a whooping from me because she killed my son bakugou said my daughter ain't no killer I told her better so annoying is like everyone just relax relax relax it's not that big of a deal she didn't kill him and I'm going to ask her do you know who anybody would kill children like that and he did ask you that question and she's like all I know is the spooky mother your mom yes long time ago she killed almost killed me my my dad and you everyone was like are you the scary family more like no she would always try to kill us we didn't know what we were supposed to do one day we were just sitting in the house I was just coloring dad was just reading his newspaper like always midoriya just doing his homework one day she just had a freaking stroke and so my dad called the hospital to come to our house and help Mom tell me went to the hospital until we wait in the hospital for her to get better the doctor came out of the surgery men said your wife is dead and so me and midoriya and my dad were crying because we loved her very much after that I made it story thing spooky mother when I said that the first time she came out and I go this far I'm like what the heck are you doing in my room she said she you use summon so yeah that's what happened I don't know why she came here then I was happy I told her dad really missing

so one day there was a spooky mother that long to read these Woods many children come out to these woods and say her name three times spooky mother's spooky mother spooky mother spooky mother what come out and scare the Lively days out of them so they run and run to their camp and tell their parents we saw a real spooky mother and they said I miss being your dreams you know real every child tells their friends Legend says that she killed her mother father and little sister and herself because she did not want the cops to find her and her ghost relies on this Forest set a reminder every kid got scared and tell the other kids do not go over this spooky mother when cuz if you do she will eat your soul other kids that went to this park actually got their souls eaten by the real thing everybody was like you should understand that this is not so funny Titan

'Here in my garden of shadows.'

Students of Hogwarts could hear the song echoing from the great hall, the doors were open but they could see a statue of a giant dog with three heads looking forward. The pumpkins around the entrance were slowly floating and dancing alone, they also were kinda inviting to the children to approach them. Students would look at Abyss and enter the great hall, get attacked by thick fog for some seconds before it becomes thinner and thinner, seemingly it would disappear at any moment, but then it would get thicker again... It was like a heart, beating. They continued forward when suddenly a swarm of bats dashed across them, scaring some of the children. Where normally candles would float were small jack-o-lanterns with blue, yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, green, white, and black. 

The atmosphere was creepingly scary, unconsciously the kids were getting nervous. They walked forward, sitting into their tables, the Headmaster and the teachers were on their table too, all of them except Azes Flamel. Azes Flamel was on a tent made out of Acromantula Silk, he was just sitting there, looking at the children with a smile in his lips. "Sit down, sit down!" the Headmaster of Hogwarts said while the children started to sit down, he chuckled and said: "Welcome students, today's decoration was provided by Professor Flamel and Professor Dumbledore, I warn you that you may get scared or surprised by this "decoration" that Professor Flamel and Professor Dumbledore used, but do not worry, Professor Flamel will make sure that no one gets hurt. Physically... or mentally." Azes could hear the students gull their saliva, some of them screamed as they saw a Boggart, the party just started. 

The song continued to play as the students were eating, some children tried the "Trick-or-Treat" Skeletons. Some of them got candies while others got the spooky part, Azes was ready to heal or even delete some memories if necessary, but it wasn't necessary... By now. Azes watched as some troublemaker kids screamed in horror, Azes smiled because he knew that his fog monster enchantment worked! While the party continued, he watched as Boggarts jumped between kids and transformed itself into their worst nightmares, making the kids scream but right after an automatic enchantment would activate the spell "Ridiculous" and transform their worst nightmare into something they think is funny. This created a very unique atmosphere around the great hall, with screams of horror, laughter, cries, and more. 

Some kids were curious about what Azes was doing on a tent made out of Acromantula silk and Azes would tell them scary stories and use his magic to scare them, if they listen to the end they would get the enchanted pumpkin that sings the songs that were echoing across the great hall. Then there was Newt Scamander and Leta Lestrange that approached his tent, they were really curious about what he was doing... "Hello, Professor Flamel," Leta said while getting near the tent, ready to touch it. Azes that was at the back of the tent said: "I do not recommend you to touch it." Seconds later he appeared and said: "Hello Leta, hello Newt. I can see the curious glee in your eyes shining across the dark interior of this hall. What do you desire?" Azes smiled, Newt could swear he saw something moving behind him... "Well Professor, we wanted to know what you are doing here," Newt said, thinking that it was just his mind playing with him.

Azes smile grew wider as he looked at Newt, saying: "Oh Newty, I tell stories and if you listen to them till the end, you can get something interesting." Leta nodded her head and Azes snapped his fingers, making them sit down two newly created chairs that simply appeared out of thin air. "Well, if you are curious about what stories I tell you, you can choose one of these." Azes shows a card, there were several words, titles. Newt and Leta noticed that it had different colors also, from light green to deep black. Newt and Lena nodded at each other and pointed at the dark title they found it read: [Dark Story: Spiders], making Azes smile. "Oh... It seems that you have chosen a dark story. I must warn though, it may scare you, super scary. So scary you may die. Are you sure?" Azes serious eyes locked on them and they nodded, making Azes break into crazy maniacal laughter. 

Newt and Leta were not expecting this and were taken back by this display of madness that their Professor was doing right now. They looked around to see if anyone was looking at them, but no one seemed to notice. "Now that you are sure, I can tell you..." They looked forward again just to see that Azes was not there anymore, but it was empty the silk tent. "Once upon a time, three wizard friends were visiting a forest. This forest was said to be cursed by the witch that there died and upon her death, she cursed the place with her own soul, saying that no one would take her land and family." The scenery changed, Newt and Leta watched as their surrounding area changed into a forest, it was night and dark, they could only look up and see branches and more branches from different trees. Suddenly the saw three men, walking forward with wands in hand. They couldn't see their faces not could identify those men, they could only listen. 

"The three arrogant wizards wanted to undercover the truth about the land and if it really was cursed." They watched as the three men suddenly looked around, they seemed to be ready to fight. "There were some rumors about this forest in the muggle world." They heard trees being broken, sticks snapping, and rocks being thrown out. "About a monster." Suddenly a roar echoed by, and the three men looked at each other, nodding and preparing to defend themselves. "About... spiders." After Azes' voice died down, a burst came from below the three men, several small, medium, big, and gigantic spiders appeared. As Azes had not taught or shown them about Acromantulas yet, they were quite stunned to see these ginormous spiders attacking the three men. "They couldn't even move, as death came and knocked on their doors. They didn't have the option to not open it, they could only open the door." The illusion faded to black as it showed the tree men being dragged by the spiders, warped into cocoons. 

The illusion then showed the spiders approaching a huge cavern. The cavern was dark, the spider continued down dragging the three cocoons that once were the three men. "But you know, as humans have their kings and queens..." The illusion showed a giant paw hitting the ground, the screen rises up until eight red gigantic eyes shone. "So do spiders." The giant Acromantula King screeched loudly, Newt and Lena watch as the there cocoons were simply devoured by the giant spider. Suddenly they felt like the spider was looking at them, they had the urge to flee, to run for their lives... But they couldn't move. The spider rushed towards them, its eight paws clicking the stone floor of the cave, destroying stalagmites and stalactites. When the giant spider roared, ready to bite them, the illusion faded to black. They opened their eyes again and they were back at the great hall, looking at Azes that was smiling at them. "So, did you liked my story?" 

Newt and Leta were sweating. Azes smiled and gave them each a palm-sized jack-o-lantern pumpkin that was singing "Come Little Children". "Professor... what were they?" Leta asked as her face still pales from fear, just thinking about it makes her afraid. "Oh, they were Acromantulas. Tomorrow you will learn about them." Newt then asked, a little fear in his eyes: "Do they really have kings or queens?" Azes smiled a little and said: "Don't be silly Newty, it was just a story. Acromantula Queen or King, they do not exist... Or do they?" As soon as Azes asked this, eight red eyes shone from behind him. Leta and Newt that had seen something moving behind Azes, were scared shitless. Azes then watched as both troublemakers disappeared running away, he chuckled as his trap had worked. He would try to make them choose the Spider story so he could scare the shit out of them and it worked.

Other kids just watched as Newt and Leta darted back to their tables while Azes was smiling and waving his hand like usual. Tomorrow's lesson will be fun. For Azes, not Leta or Newt.

Time passed slowly, as I was still holding closely and tightly to my best friend. Well, he's actually my only friend but he is indeed the best person I've ever met. He understands me completely. We went through a lot together, but he never said things such as "I'm sick of it" or "I can't handle it anymore", even if he could've at least thought it.
Wait..... His scent.... is that... parfume? He never used this one. Only for important occasions... Strange..

After a while, Ray kissed my head and slowly managed to get up. He threw me a small and sleepy smile, heading to my bathroom. I used that time, to get dressed with a pair of black shorts, and a blue blouse, with no shoulders. I tied my hair into a high ponytail, using a matching blue scrunchie. Suddenly, the same annoying voice sounded in my head.
"Can you believe what happened??" the annoying spirit said.
"Yeah Kard, we were terrorised by some ghosts. But why??? Because you are a spirit! All the paranormal things happened because you are tied to me!" i said, sighing and sitting on my bed.
"I-" Kard was quiet for a moment then talked again. "I was talking about you and Ray. He's moving way too fast!" he mentioned, trying to avoid the subject that i just brought in.
With a deep sigh, I look up at him "Really? That s our main problem?? I CAN SEE GHOSTS!!" I tried to make him pay attention to the subject
"Dammit, you have a spirit that's following you everywhere, you saw me killing people for you, you get flashbacks from an inexistent place and seeing ghosts is a big deal for you??"
"UGH!" I huff and Ray got out, surprising us having an argue. "Did i break in an important moment?" he asked innocently. I shook my head, reasurring him. "Come on, let's go eat breakfast"
I took his hand, heading downstairs, starting to make both of us ommelettes.


Time passed and we were finally done eating. We took our bags, going out and heading to the library. We have to get to know more about what happened last night. I still had shivers just thinking about it. If Ray wasn't with me that moment.... bad things could've happen. I always considered him my hero. Kard saved me a few times... But he had to. Ray did it by his own will, which always meant a lot to me. One time....

"Why are they so fast???!! Kard help meee!!" i cried, running from a group of dogs who were chasing me. 
Suddenly, a boy appeared, 7 years... a year older than me, who gripped onto a brench, getting in front of me, scarying the dogs away, I looked at him in the eyes and he got closer, placing a hand on my cheek, wiping the tears with his thumb, giving me a smile "Are you alright? are you hurt?" He asked softly and innocently, which as an answer, he received only a nod.

Since then, we became friends. We helped each other... if one of us had problems, the other made anything to help them. Anyways, back to our story.
Ray and I arrived to the library and started to look throught the books from the 'paranormal' category. They were only stories who should've scare children. No proof of existence. But suddenly, one of the books caught my attention as i start to get closer to it and grab it. It was different... it's aura was strong. I felt some kind of energy coming out of it and i just look at Kard who was sitting on the floor bored. He only shrugged and a frown covered my face. 'Idiot.. is he still mad at me? Maybe throwing the fault at him wasn't really as good as I thought at first. I'll apologise later tho... meanwhile, I should show this to Ray' i thought.
As we sat down, Ray was looking curiously at the book so i decided to open it and read but it was empty. Blank pages. I started to check every page until i found one. I immediately threw the book on the table. There was a drawing with a tall, black shadow, with empty eyes, long and sharp fingers. It looked incredibly scary. Ray looked at me with a cute but confused face, taking the book and looking in it again, checking every single page, then faced me worried.
"Nova?... there..... it s nothing there..." he spoke and I got even more terrified for the fact that I was the only one who can see it... Am I hallucinating? or  just seeing things that are not even there? Or were they for real?
After a few hours, him and I decided to borrow the book and go back to my place. Before getting in, Ray suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me over to him, in a tight hug. I felt warmth and hugged back almost immediately, gripping onto his shirt and inhaling his scent. "Nova..." he softly spoke "are you sure you want to go inside?" he said while his eyes slowly fixed mine. His blue, worried and desperate eyes. He was trying to protect her. Like single every time. That moment, my eyes just teared up and he just pulled my face in his chest, holding me even tighter and even more protective. I wasn t scared. I just didn t know how to thank him... for everything that he had done for and to me. I just love him with my whole heart... I cannot imagine my life without him.
