Ignited by passion and despise, the 28 year old Alexandra Lewisville was caught in a most embarrassing mistake with the city's most eligible bachelor Skyler Penicillin.

It was around six in the afternoon when Melissa Mason arrived from work. His eyes moved across the empty room. Everything was still. Quiet to excess.
"What did they get ready this time?"
As they passed Liam's and Leon's room, the door was open, but neither of them was. Melissa continued walking.
The door to Lucas's room was half open. Looking down the small opening, she saw him sitting on the bed reading a book that must have been over 400 pages long.
She opened the door a little too hard.
"Who are you and what did you do to my son?" His question was genuine.
"..."
Lucas could tell that his mother was asking seriously.

Liam and Leon arrived home around seven. They both went on a date with an awakened one. Apparently, Liam was surprised, there were people quite wealthy in Ribeirão Preto.
Carlos Santos. He went to buy a skill book, but came out with two outfits, 3 books and 2 Soul Core. As they needed quick cash, everything went for 10 million that were deposited into Leon's account.
Accounts were paid after that and they went to see some houses, before returning.
Dinner was ready when the two of them walked through the door. Melissa was done packing the table.
"Oh, you're here." Melissa smiled at them. "Dinner is ready. Go wash your hands and come and eat. "
The two swallowed dry. That radiant smile, capable of enlightening the world, brings happiness to the worst cases of helplessness. That smile she gave them was a sign that they were screwed.
"I... I'm not hungry..." Liam began.
Still smiling, she turned to him.
"If you keep rolling, the food will get cold. And you know my opinion on using the microwave. "
Melissa completely ignored what Liam said and practically gave an ultimatum.
Liam shivered all over. He did not know what they did, but he knew they were in trouble. Melissa Mason is a strong personality woman and she had to raise 3 children by herself. She had to deal with a lot of shit over the years. That is why, when it comes to children, she would protect them like a lioness, but it also makes them go through hell if they do something wrong. In her words, "I did not spend 9 months carrying you in my belly, ending my body, and another painful 10 hours of labor, just to visit you in prison!" Usually these words were spoken among the flip-flops, broomsticks, the waistband, or when they should kneel on the rice.
Five minutes later, Liam and Leon were sitting at the table apprehensive. Lucas was sitting on the other side, in the corner, cowering as if they had been caught in the act. He looked guilty.
Melissa sat down in front of them and picked up a steak and set it on the plate.
"So how was your day?" She asked as if she did not want anything.
She knows, that was the thought of Liam and Leon at the same time. His eyes turned to Lucas who looked even more guilty.
Now, they could make up excuses and so lie in her face, which would be a deadly mistake, or just give up.
Liam sighed,
"It was not our fault."
He decided to be honest, after all, the world was changing too fast. The government may try to stifle, but more than 500 million people have returned from the Neutral Dimension. It was only a matter of time before everything exploded. So he thought it best to spill it all at once.
Melissa stopped the theater and watched the children. Knowing that they decided to tell the truth, she decided to be understanding.
"That's what I was told."
And so Liam and Leon told them everything. Even the smallest details. They even used some skill to prove it.
Then, just like Lucas, Liam had to use another Golden Core to wake up Mom and buy the skills she wanted.
Mana Regeneration, Cure, Dragon Scale, Tortoise Shell, Divine Barrier and Recovery.
She decided to learn only those 6 and leave 4 empty slots. You never know when an ideal ability for yourself may appear. After that, Liam bought rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and brooches, which mainly increased Mental Power and Vitality, but of course some had an effect to increase Strength, Dexterity and Magic Power.
And so, a whole family of awakenings arose.

As Liam deduced, in the next two days, strange incidents began to emerge around the world.
In Egypt, a sandstorm that seemed to be alive. In Hawaii, a tsunami was stopped by a mysterious person before reaching the city. Amateur videos of people picking up cars, jumping higher than normal, and things like that popped up. There was an incident in a maximum security prison where a dangerous serial killer, trapped in solitary, escaped as if it evaporated into thin air.
Of course for people like the Mason family, this was not rumors and legends, they were awakened who began to use their powers in real life. There was even someone in costume, according to the witnesses, saving the day.
Normal people, especially those who were aware of what was happening in the world, began to realize that something was happening. As much as the government tried to keep everything a secret, it was becoming increasingly obvious to those awakened that it would not last. Some were even betting on how long the government could keep the Neutral Dimension a secret.

The containment door was opened and a man passed by who was already in his early 50s by his tone of voice. The doctor could not be sure, since the face of the person in front of her was blurred for her. It was as if his glasses were of no use to him. Of course she knew the problem was not the glasses, but the person in front of her who did not want to be recognized.
She sighed inwardly. Being a scientist, she always sought to unravel the mysteries of the universe, while mocking those idiotic people who believe in mysticism. And now, before it, the supernatural was real.
Despite the slap in the face that led from the universe, the doctor was enthusiastic to start the research.
The two of them stepped through the next-generation containment door and into a huge room full of computers, tubes for specimens, and everything seen in science fiction films.
"So, what did you think of your new place of work?" The mysterious man asked confidently.
"It's incredible."
In the blink of an eye, in the man's hand came a blue sphere with a hypnotic glow.
"This is called Soul Core... And this..." another sphere came out of nowhere. "It's a Blood Core. You will receive more of these to search. "Next came a glass vial containing a red liquid. "And that's demon blood. The guinea pigs will be delivered today. I expect great things from you, Dr. Sully."

On Monday, three days later, the four members of the Mason family were on a plane to the Federal District. His bank accounts had increased more than 30 million dollars. Apparently, in the big cities in the interior of São Paulo there were many rich who were also awakened.
With this large sum of money, instead of going anywhere in the world, Melissa decreed that they were going to Brasilia.
Earlier, she had already gone to school and started transferring school to Brasilia. On Tuesday they had scheduled to visit some houses and apartments to buy.
Leon sighed inwardly. It was clear that he knew why his mother chose Brasilia, among all places. This was a secret that only he and Melissa knew, and it was not him that would reveal.

It did not take long for them to choose a house. The choice was a 2 story house, 10 bedrooms, pool and 6 places in the garage. It was a fortune, but it was worth it.
Liam had worried about the government wanting to know where they got the money from the account, but apparently Leon said he did not need to worry. He knew a guy.
They spent the night at the hotel and only on Tuesday would they move.
Her mother was in a room just for her while the 3 brothers had to split the room with 2 beds.
Liam took the sofa without really caring. They had finished dinner. Lucas was reading books, because apparently his theory that could increase the Mental Power reading was true. Leon was watching TV in the armchair while Liam was lying on the couch staring at the ceiling.
He opened his list of skills.

He sighed. He had nothing to do. He gained powers and had nothing to do. Honestly, he kind of was looking forward to Friday and so on to Neutral Dimension.
Liam even tried to bribe the orb to be sent in advance to the Neutral Dimension, but it did not work. The problem was that the Order of the Gods received only a Neutral Dimension entry permit once every 7 days. It seems that Neutral Dimension does not like beings from other universes interacting with beings from other universes. Not when they use it for this.

Liam Mason went to sleep thinking about his deadly fight the next day, but woke up in a white room accompanied by countless people.
Without choice, he must fight to survive and thus protect his family from the imminent onslaught of demons from another universe, but soon will find that there are enemies even in their own universe and the apocalypse is inevitable.

Jessica could do light alterations, but she couldn't sew a dress. Mary enjoyed acting in the theater. There wasn't a lot of money to be made in being an actress in the town theater, but she had fun with it and her father had more than enough money so she didn't have to depend on her acting job to support herself. 

Mrs. Elan, who owned the orphanage, walked over to their table. ―Good afternoon, Mrs. Ritter, Miss Duff, and Mrs. Monroe. Jessica still felt strange whenever people referred to her as Mrs. Monroe. She didn't exactly hate being called that. She just wasn't used to it. There was that initial moment when she thought the person was talking to someone else. 

―Who is that sweet angel? Helen asked, nodding to the sleeping boy in Mrs. Elan's arms. ―I don't recall seeing him before. 

―All I know about him is that his name is Ryan and he's one. Someone knocked on the door of the orphanage and left him on the doorstep with a note tied around his neck. He was asleep when I opened the door. I assume whoever dropped him off waited to see if I took him in. The doctor came to look at him and he's healthy. He certainly is a mystery. 

―He's a cute little boy, the old woman acknowledged. Ryan had light blond hair and a fair complexion. He was snuggled in Mrs. Elan's arms and had his blue blanket close to him. ―So you don't know anything else about him or his parents? 

Jessica asked. ―No, I don't. He's been well cared for. Someone loved him. ―I wonder why his guardian let him go, Helen sadly commented. ―I bet the person didn't want to do it. ―Sometimes people are forced into giving up their children, Mrs. Elan admitted. 

―I'm just glad Ryan's parents chose to bring him here where he has a chance of being adopted. Ryan has been withdrawn and spends most of his time sucking his thumb with his favorite blanket. The staff and I give him lots of affection. Children at this young age thrive better when held often. ―I'd take him in a heartbeat if I didn't live in a nursing home, Helen said. 


―I want to take in every child that shows up here, but I already have my hands full with twelve children. Sometimes it's difficult to see these children without parents to care for them, but this orphanage is much better than the cases I've heard where some are abused or left to go hungry on the streets. At least here, they are taken care of. 

―When did he come here? Jessica wondered. ―On Wednesday. ―He must miss the person who left him here. ―They all do for awhile. He is young enough that he will eventually forget that person. ―Can I hold him for a while?


 Mrs. Elan nodded and gently placed the child in Jessica's lap. Ryan stirred but didn't wake. He clutched his blanket to his chest. She put her arms around him and smiled. It felt good to hold him. ―Someday, you might hold your little one, Helen commented. Jessica resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Once again, she was reminded of Leo. Would he continue to plague her thoughts?

 Later that day when she arrived at her new home, she was greeted with a bouquet of yellow tulips in a crystal vase. Attached to the bouquet was a card from Leo that told her the color yellow symbolized friendship, which was the foundation for their marriage.  

―Mr. Monroe is taken with you, Jim commented when she brought them to the kitchen to put more water in the vase. ―Taken? He's in love, Constance remarked. ―He never thought of flowers before. It's always been investments and clients. ―I knew that was all he talked about, Jessica said, satisfied that she had understood that much about him. 

―It certainly isn't all he's talking about anymore, he stated. ―The only time I think of something other than food is when I'm in love. ―I take it then that you aren't in love at the moment, Jessica asked, hopeful. 

―No, Mrs. Monroe. I am not. Perfect! Her plan to fix him up with Mary just might work. She examined the kitchen. It didn't seem to be the right place for the flowers. ―I suppose I should put these in the parlor with the couches and chairs. That room is more comfortable than the one with the long oval table. ―Mr. Monroe uses the parlor with the table for his business dinner parties, the maid informed her. 

―The other parlor is intended for you when you wish to entertain. You may decorate it however you wish. ―What did it look like before? she wondered. 


―It had a desk and lots of books. The books he reads are business books. He's not a fiction reader. And my brother and father wondered why I thought he was dull. She couldn't imagine enjoying a business book. She wondered if they did have anything in common, besides a mutual physical attraction for each other. 

She had given up on convincing herself that she wasn't attracted to him. He was too good looking for her not to enjoy looking at, and his kisses and touches made her lightheaded. She shook her head. There had to be more to a marriage than physical attraction.  She set the flowers in her favored parlor.

Leo walked over to Jessica and lightly kissed her. -Aren't you going to welcome me home after a hard day at work?

She sighed. -Must you insist on keeping this marriage going?

His eyes widened. -You're the one who's going to change this room. I took that as an indicator that you planned to stay.

-Only for the month, I'm required to be here.

-You'll spend the rest of your life here, he replied.

The fact that he seemed so sure of himself made her that much more determined to prove him wrong. She crossed her arms and glared at him.

He ignored her open rebellion. He gently took her by the elbow to lead her to the couch. -Will you have a seat?

-No. She didn't budge.

To her surprise, he picked her up in his arms and sat down. He held her close to him and sat her on his lap. She was too shocked to react in time to stop him from kissing her neck.

She pushed aside the delightful sensations his kissing produced and quickly stood back up.

He had amazing reflexes for he grabbed her hand and said,

-If you don't sit by me, I'll pull you back onto my lap. Or we could go upstairs and make sure you don't leave at the end of the month.

She loudly sighed so he would understand how much this pained her and plopped next to him on the couch.

He chuckled. -Now that wasn't so hard, was it?

She refused to look at him. She wouldn't let him get to her. She wouldn't fall in love with someone she was forced into marrying.

Adam proudly showed off his car and Abby felt her heart burst. Too cute! How was she supposed to handle a cuteness attack of this level?
Katie mock whispered, "He shows it to everyone he likes."
It was official. She melted into a puddle of sentimental goo. Her nephew liked her right off the bat! He was very trusting considering his mother barely told him they were family, which proved he was a happy and well-adjusted kid.
What kind of childhood did he have living out here in the middle of nowhere? Katie had obviously commissioned that toy for him but what about his other toys? Were there any picture books? What sorts of things did little kids even do in this world in the absence of a playground?
"Who made it for you?" Abby asked, gesturing to the car.
Katie was a bit embarrassed. "Ah, I got one of the carpenters who moved here from Rowenhilde to do it. He made a few others toys like this for him and other kids started wanting them too so now there are wooden cars all over town. We even started selling them in bulk to the merchants who pass through here after one of them bought one on a whim for his grandson."
Wow. Such a small thing ended up widespread because she wanted something familiar for her son to play with. Abby couldn't help but wonder exactly how much influence her sister had managed to have on this world by accident.
She was very curious about Katie's life here and wanted to know more. Seeming to sense this, Katie excused them (Al and Blaise were still deep in discussion) and showed her around the house.
In addition to a modern bathroom, there was also a fairly modern kitchen. There wasn't a microwave or a proper fridge but Katie explained that there was an ice box of sorts in the cellar outside for keeping things cold.
Adam had a few more familiar toys as well. His wooden car wasn't the only vehicle he had. There was also a wagon pulled by a wooden horse and a rudimentary truck. He had a teddy bear too; stuffed animals did exist here though bears weren't the most popular. Most children had stuffed rabbits for some reason.
There were also wooden blocks to build towers and bridges with. Everything else appeared to be carvings of various animals found in the mountains, such as deer.
"You guys use a lot of wood, don't you?" Abby asked dryly.
Katie shrugged. "We're surrounded by trees; lumber is one of our best resources. Wait until you see the wooden playground I convinced someone to build! All the kids in town love it."
She was fairly certain she knew what kind of playground her sister was talking about. When they were younger, they visited a historical park where the playground was almost entirely made of wood and shaped a bit like a castle. They used rubber and plastic a little bit for slides and rope courses but that was it.
Her sister wasn't the most creative person in the world by any means but she was full of a lot of random knowledge. Getting other more talented people to act on that knowledge had yielded quite the results and she had hardly seen anything yet.
"What other things have you convinced people to make for you?" Abby asked in awe.
It was a lot more than expected. Katie told her how this started when she was still back in the palace because she wanted sweaters and fuzzy pajama pants to get through the winter. While she was still there, she also commissioned a hat loom to be made so she could crochet.
Abby already knew that because of the novel, as well as the attempts at pizza and hamburgers. What she didn't know was everything that happened after coming to the Kanta region.
Since coming here Katie had worked together with a variety of people to create street lamps, light bulbs, a hydroelectric generator, children's toys, swing sets, different types of handy kitchen utensils such as oven mitts, and more. She even managed to improve on the makeshift snow clothes she had made back in the palace.
She also created the concept of a public library and recruited a few talented minds to help her create fun little picture books for children. The children's books that existed here were almost entirely of the educational variety, aside from a few traditional stories that were meant for older children to read on their own.
When she realized she was pregnant not long after moving here, Katie refused to let her child live in a world without age-appropriate fiction. She found a few people who were good at drawing to turn traditional oral children's stories into book form.
Under her guidance—apparently she had read a ton of Wikipedia articles about the history of crayons, colored pencils, and markers out of boredom while laid up in bed several years ago—a few innovators had managed to recreate those as well.
The first books made solely for the Kanta were painted or colored in with markers or crayons. but once they began mass producing them and had to use a printing press they were all too bulky. Once the traders found out about these books and wanted some for their own children, the business grew. 
There was now a full printing press/publishing office set up in town. They used engraving plates to mass produce illustrations and had to use colored pencils to color everything in by hand because they were the thinnest tool available. 
Katie confided that the Kanta became much more involved with the outside world largely because they needed to trade for materials to help recreate things from home but that it had ended up benefiting everyone involved. Unbelievable. An entire economy set up because of the desire for some kids' books.
Abby was astounded by how much she had accomplished in such a short time. A mind like hers had been wasted back in their world.
She majored in political science because it was one of the shorter programs and her health made taking on more than twelve credits per semester difficult. She had no idea what she wanted to actually do with her life and ended up taking the first part-time job she could find post-graduation.
A benefit of working in a school is that you have a lot of time off. Three day weekends, spring break, Christmas break, summers… Katie admitted that she went with that job in no small part because of all the time off for doctors' appointments, physical therapy, and plain old recovering from exhaustion.
Her time was entirely consumed by going to work, going to the doctor, and consuming as much media as possible. Because she was a curious soul, instead of wasting all of her time on Netflix like some people she primarily focused on nonfiction.
Her memory for details was incredible. There was no way Abby would have been able to remember enough about random things like crayons and markers enough to actually make one later.

Though the events that transpired a few minutes ago was intense and nerve-racking, the harmonious aura came back when they reached the bookstore.
Dandan carefully measured her boss' mood while they were walking towards the entrance and it seems that her boss has cooled down. She thanked all the gods and deities in this world that everything is back to normal again.
Once they were inside, Dandan excused herself so she can quickly pick the necessary items that the employees from the office wanted. She left her boss hanging around the fiction books section.
The bookstore was really crowded today so once Secretary Dandan has to queue, it'll take long before she could pay the office supplies she picked.
Xiulan's mood was serene again and everything that happened a while ago were swept away once she's inside the store. Bookstores are her happy place and it immediately alleviated her mood. She went to young adult fiction section to check the newest and trendiest books.
Since its young adult, it's full of romance and magic genre. The titles were all new to her and the stories seems promising.
Her attention was caught by the romance books with very vulgar covers in it. She liked the stories but the covers were quite distasteful for her. She thought that books these days are not so discreet in hiding what's inside. She remembered the books twenty years ago would have plain cover designs and people wouldn't actually know the book is erotic unless they read it. But now, these provocative book covers are exposed to children.
While she criticize each of the books' cover, she took her time reading each of the synopsis at the back as well. She seems to be so engross in reading them that she was not aware that some aunties inside the bookstore were gossiping about her.
"Is that Mrs. Xing? She's so tiny..."
"It's my first time seeing her in person. She's very pretty but she lacks height. Her dress is so pretty though!"
"The contrast of Hongqi's ex-girlfriends vs Mrs. Xing are too big! I'm pretty sure Hongqi has a tall, beautiful, model side chick."
"I am going to bet a slut could snatch Xing Hongqi from this woman. She's pretty but there are far more beautiful and sexier women."
"Look at her height, OMG!"
"Wow! Her waist is so small… but her height… err…"
"Hmph! She's not that pretty like what the people says!"
"Gong Yuming is prettier."
"Betting that they'll divorce this year. She's not that pretty like her husband's exes."
The constant degrading hush from the bystanders managed to catch Xiulan's attention. "Are they really gossiping about me, in front of me? I can't believe this. Are people really this boisterous in shaming someone?"
She had enough of this. When will people stop this kind of attacks on her? She can't just stand here and let them slander her like this. She could ignore this if it was a hearsay but they are slandering her in person. For some reason, the constant mention of her height irritated her so badly. Never ever criticized a woman's height in front of them.
Xiulan put down the book she was holding and coldly gazed at the gossiping women. She walked towards them with her high heels clacking so loudly. She stopped in front of them and savagely scolded them. "You women have a lot of free time to gossip about me. Instead of talking about my marriage and height, all of you should check on your husbands. A young, tall, beautiful girl might be with them right now."
The women gawked at her, they were all surprised by her words. They all thought she's meek and wouldn't even try to approach them. But here she is, standing in front of them with her thousand dollars dress, shoes and clear skin. They were embarrassed but they wanted to rebut to save face and bully her back but she's not finished in her scolding yet.
"And my short height doesn't undermine the continuous contributions I made for this country. What about you people? Is your gossiping helped the country's economy?"  Xiulan's perfectly plucked eyebrows were all way up. With her tiny height but amazing confidence, she intimidated these godforsaken gossipers.
The women were mummed and don't know how to answer back. They were just middle class people and a rich, upper class woman scolding them made them afraid to say something.
"I didn't know that Mrs. Xing has a lot of free time to scold people." A woman with very long fake eyelashes emerged. With her voice, she might be the person who mentioned Gong Yuming's name.
Xiulan lazily looked at this woman who appeared like a random mushroom, provoking her.  "Yes I have a lot of free time. What about it?" Xiulan rebutted and her eyebrows were still arched. It gave her a snobby and intimidating look.
The annoying woman scoffed. "Don't be cocky just because you are rich and married to Xing Hongqi. He can leave you anytime."
"Ad-hominem. Why is my husband being mentioned in this? So what if he leaves me? Am I not allowed to scold people who are slandering me? Hmm?" Xiulan was in the mood to scold people so she would continue this until Dandan is finished with her shopping. Hell, who cares about image now?
"People with class don't argue with people in public." The woman fought back.
"And who said that? Was it written in a manual on how to be classy?" Xiulan won't let this woman slide.
"You might be rich but your attitude stinks." The woman provoked. Her arguments were out of place.
"Judgmental. How come you say my attitude stinks when we've been only exchanging questions? I can't believe I am not allowed to scold people who slandered me." Xiulan bewilderingly asked. She doesn't get this woman's anger. She only scolded the gossipers but this woman is diverting the topic to something else.
"Just wait and your careful pure image will be trashed soon." The woman was about to leave since she doesn't know what to say anymore.
"I wouldn't mind that. Be careful on not losing your job too." Xiulan scoffed before she left the gossiping women and went to Dandan, who's busy in responding to the group chat with her co-employees regarding what to buy in the bookstore.
The woman halted her movements and nervously looked at Xiulan's retreating back. "She won't know my name and report it to my boss, right?"
"Dandan, aren't you finished yet?" Xiulan smiled at Dandan. Her face didn't display any irritation or negativity. It seems that she enjoyed the argument she had a while ago.
"Boss, I'll be next soon. You can wait in the car so you can relax." Dandan quickly answered. She was confused for a moment why the people surrounding them were looking at her boss quite differently.
"Okay." Xiulan agreed but before she leaves the place, she picked a book that has caught her eye a while ago and gave it to Dandan. "Add this to your cart. I want to read it tonight."
Xiulan left and went to rest inside the car.
Dandan confusedly took the book and stared at it. The title was "The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera" with a dog doodle on the book cover. Dandan thought it was a harmless novel but when she read the synopsis at the back, she can't help but question if her boss' marriage is currently on the rocks.


Song Xiulan's parents doted on her so much that they would even find the best bachelor out there to be her husband.

They were eyeing Xing Hongqi, a very respectable man and the most powerful in S and T city. But he is also a notorious player and womanizer.

Xiulan's parents believed that their impeccable daughter can change a man like Hongqi. 

Xiulan was willing to follow whatever her parents planned for her. But marrying a womanizer seemed too extreme. 

Now that she met the man and people around her seem to worship him and talk about his dirty laundries like it was fine. 

Xiulan is now conflicted about whether she should obey her parents or this time follow her common sense that marrying a womanizer is not fine!
