The story of a Comic Book Collector who is brought to a world where he finds out that he is one of the special people who can earn experience and level up to become a superhero.

I have been awed by the mystery and the powers of the elements since I was a kid. I think I ought to give credit to all the anime cartoons that was available in our time, especially when it dominated the Philippine Primetime shows in the 90's. I also caught the Funny Komiks fever which is actually quite an integral part of my childhood as I've learned to read and associate the words just by looking at the pictures – all by myself and with my twin brother, KC. This culture pushed me to draw pictures and cartoon characters that led for me to be creative, ultimately finding out that I can make and invent stories of my own. 

As my skill advanced from the traditional stick figures, I needed a challenge and by the age of eight, I have started to make my own stories loosely based on the arena-type battles such as Dragonball Z, Pokemon, and Flame of Recca. We don't have much money then so we have to improvise to hone our craft. After the end of our school year, my twin brother and I used to pull the spring from my notebook and compile all the empty leaves to stitch 'em up together to form a thick notebook to make my cartoon stories – my very own comic book. We have made tons of it, usually strips of stories that ranged from ten to twenty pages at most, but by the end of my first year in highschool I finished a full length comic book story called "Pyrobot" – a robot created to protect the Earth similar to Combatron and Megaman. But this didn't make me happy though. The plot of the story is quite juvenile then, so I plotted a story – a serious one that touches topics of mystery and gives tales of adventures made by an entirely different civilization. That's when I conceptualized "The Omegatribe", which is the book's original title eleven years ago. I tried to plan it to fruition but then school made me extremely busy, it forced me to just put a pin on that project. 

Graduation came fast which made me happy for a bit thinking I could start the project in hiatus but lo and behold, college revealed to be my enemy too. I tried drawing slides and planned to color it in the computer by scanning it and rendering it on Photoshop but all was in vain as this takes too long a time to continue. This project is going down the drain and I could feel the urge of giving up but luckily, God has given me a window. He led me to our college publication, The Business Access Magazine, and this gave me the necessary foundation to make me adept in putting my thoughts into words. After gaining my bachelor's degree in Management at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, I finally vowed to finish the story I started on 2003 and turn this comic book into a novel instead. On January 2009, I started to write it all up. It's quite hard at first as I have been writing it while taking another degree in accountancy at the University of the East. Also, the challenge is the research and plotting the story to make it complete. This ate time that it took three years for me to finish it and another year and a half to revisit the story: to create a time table, assign the time frame, and identify the lunar faces on each chapter. I have finished writing it on the same time I passed the board last year on May 2013. I have to thank God for this miracle as I couldn't have done it without his blessing, guidance, and inspiration. It's quite a challenging adventure, one that I am really thankful to experience.

When Bathala created the world, He made sure that the Earth will be safe from the Mortals: the Men and Women of the Earth. Their potential for evil has saddened Him deeply. He has to go away to create Paraiso but He needs to protect them from destroying themselves.

To make sure that life will prosper on Earth, He has blessed three righteous tribes and mandated them to protect the Fountain of Life from being corrupted. The Fountain seeds green life on Earth. Without the fountain, life will cease to exist.

The three tribes that are led by Nagozul, Yagisiv Haya, and Daomagar, left their villages and created their dominion on Bathala's three islands collectively known as The Holy Lands. Their purpose: "Protect the Fountain of Life at all costs." They have been true in following their holy edict and have proven themselves to become the Holy Sentinels of the Lands of Bathala. They have maintained the secrecy and the anonymity of the Holy Lands with perfection as life continued on Earth.

Tens of thousands of years later, the Kingdom of Nagozul has now grown arrogant and has disobeyed Bathala's mandate. An impending doom now shrouds the Holy Lands. Extinction of the mortal race is upon them and the fate of the world is at stake. It is up to the brave Holy Sentinels, the young Princes of Nagozul, to complete the mission and save the souls that are inhabiting the islands of God.

In a destroyed world of chaos, a dying man sat down peacefully reading a comic book.


Bunker's log: This is James Curtis, it's been 20 years since I've left the bunker after the Kelvin plague spreaded turning every living being into mindless beings only knowing how to eat while increasing in speed, strength and production of saliva to digest raw meat. I've worked with other scientists and geneticist on the patient zero on the cure. Until our fellow friend got drunk and broke the containment unit. It all went south after reports around the world of the disease spreading, politicians, children, and teachers, man and woman eating each other. I have created this bunker to save guard me from nuclear attacks, and food enough for 15 years, and now I am dying. I wish I live in the world of comic books, but it's impossible.


Now thinking back of what he's done and what he could have done, he dies peacefully.


    James wakes up in a plain white room, still thinking about what happened. "Am I dead?". In disbelief he shouted, "Hello? Is anyone there?"

"You have awaken sooner than I expected."

"Who are you? Where am I?"

"I am Gaia, the planet you call earth and what you would call mother nature. You are the last of my children and so I will use what remains of my life essence to full fill you 3 wishes and get you to wherever you what to go and reincarnate to save you, my last child."

    I have to think about this seriously. "Are there any tricks to the wishes?"

    "No. But you must hurry for I can only maintain you in this state for so long before draining myself."

    "I wish to live in a universe that is a mixture of the MCU, the Marvel 616 universe and the Marvel Ultimate universe."

    "It is done."

    "I wish to have the power to absorb other people's powers and memories by touching them without overloading my body and mind."

    "It is done, but hurry. Half of my power is drained and can only give you one more wish."

    "I wish to have regenerative powers as strong as Deadpool's."

    "My child, your powers will manifest at the age of two and so will your memory of this life to avoid suspicion of your powers and intelligence."

    "Well, I guess th-"

    "Now off you go my child, before my essence is fully drained!"

    After Gaia's death, the earth blew up into a supernova, years later, birthing a new planet from the ashes of the old one.

Using his knowledge of the marvel universe and his new found powers, what should he do?

So I have had the worst day ever. I finally started to get along with my family, and someone shoots me in the back. I am immediately rushed to the hospital to get surgery, but by the time I get there, I had given up on my life. I just sit there lying on the gurney waiting for the bullet fragments to make their way to my heart. I am busy thinking about movies. I start to laugh at the fact that I am dying and all I can think about is the next Marvel movie to come out. As I am laughing I start to convulse as my heart is finally punctured by the bullet fragments. I am conscious for 5 excruciating minutes. During these minutes I think about my life, and who I wish I had helped. " I swear if I can survive this, I will live and help people. I will be there for those I care about. I will help those who can not help themselves. I WILL be someone who matters to them. I will not be someone who stands by. " I lose consciousness after I say these words to myself. When I wake up, I can see that I was surrounded by the people I care most about. I am filled with happiness to see them. I don't know what happened to them but they are crying. I get up to help them up and they just look at me and then I say let's go. We go home and I get to work. I live for 30 years after that day. I cure diseases, Help people who need it. I built homeless shelters. I end up with a large, loving family. We lived in a private mansion in upstate New York. I decide to buy the rights to both marvel and dc. In the end, I ended up with an amazing life and family. I became the head writer and publisher for both comics. I created new characters and flushed  out some old, yet good ones. I made a final event, kind of like crisis on infinite earths, but I called it crisis in infinite multiverses where the perspective speedsters had to vibrate at the exact same frequencies at the same time. As they did that both multiverses collided and changed the histories, so that all hero and villain backstories from both universes were represented. The universes merged. They made a lot of movies about what I did in the companies. I merged them and renamed the company The Marvelous Detective comics. There were a few differences. New York City was split in 2 and manhattan was renamed Gotham City and the rest of the city was called Metropolis. In this new world, they started from the beginning. The avengers never was formed. Shield didn't exist, and neither did Hydra. The storyline did start with tony getting kidnapped. I added a new character based off of my own younger self. I wrote my family into the continuity. I made it so that we were in almost every major event that has ever happened. I gave my character the first system in any comic ever. I called it the marvelous detective. Since I basically owned all entertainment at that time, which made my comics so much more popular. It helped comic book store owners out a lot. With the comic book stores more popular, more people got interested in the sciences. The influx of people into the sciences, many breakthroughs happened. Even geology was popular! All this happened in a matter of years! 15 to be exact. Then I happened to get sick like the day I was shot. There was a meteor shower that day. As my family and I went outside, I clapped twice. All power in a 100 mile radius was turned off. Thank god we don't live near any hospitals. We laid down on the blanket I set up and the meteor shower started. The meteors seemed to be larger than normal. One exploded over our shed. I started to pull my wife inside, and she pulled along the children. I pulled them into the underground safehouse that I had built so my parents could live with us and not annoy us with their personalities. They were initially surprised that we were there. I told them about the exploding meteors,and they immediately opened up the control panel. In the end they sat with the children until I made sure that it was safe for us to leave. My father kept pushing buttons until he found my hidden button. As we sat there I asked what he was doing, and he pushed the button. I ran to my children and grabbed them while my parents glared. I told them that he hit the teleport button. It did work, but with a price. It drained life forces, and  what survived got increased bodies.I explained that it was a prototype and it's issues.The issues are usually deadly.In lieu of the death, it causes mutations, portals, black holes, dismemberment, and suicidal thoughts. As I am tinkering a small black dot starts to form on top of the machine. I make my way to the dot and I hear a voice on the other side. I make my way to the dot and grab it. It immediately began to expand to encompass the whole house. I then heard the same voice say "Welcome to the Serve Your Self Theoretical Energy Manipulation powers. Your S.Y.S.T.E.M.

Just two months had passed since me and my mom signed the deal, and now the release date of my first book was about to happen.

At the end I decided that 'The princess collection volumen one' will be formed by: 'Sleeping beauty', 'Cinderella', 'Aladdin', 'The princess and the frog' and 'Beauty and the beast'.

What leaves: 'Mulan', 'The little mermaid', 'Moana', 'Rapunzel' and 'Frozen' for the second volume. Which release date will depend on how well does the first one. 

Those were all the 'Disney' princesses I could somehow remember, which made easier the decision to not doing more in the future. For the other two books, I planned to use 'DreamWorks' or 'Illumination' movies as a reference. What was clear, is that those books will not be compilations, I needed to start practicing writing longer books. And that's what I am doing lately, besides working on my comic with Hanna of course. 

"Girls I have a surprise for you" I said to the girls when we were on recess. 

"Thank you Sam!" the twins said when I gave them copies of my book. Each one gave me a tight hug and a quick kiss on the forehead. 

"Thank you!" Claire smiled cutely at me, and gave me a hug. Her hazel eyes are captivating, which always made me look at her for a slightly longer period of time. 

For someone as antisocial as me, I should count myself lucky to have three friends already. Although I couldn't really take any merit in my friendship with Claire, the twins were just too nice with everyone, so this kind of conclusion was an understanding. 

"The book will be on sale in about a week, so you better like it because I can't change anything now" I joked. 

"That's impossible" Emma replied quickly with a face that showed her conviction. 

"Ummmm. It'll depend if the stories are as good as the ones we have read before" Ellie smiled slyly at me. I think that her sense of humor has evolved thanks to me. I don't know if that's a good thing though. 

"That's why Emma is my favorite twin" I winked at Ellie, who pouted at me while I gave the clueless Emma a hug. 

"Me too" Said Claire, who played along and joined us. Ellie's face was hilarious, she looked at Claire as if she had committed the ultimate betrayal. 

"... Ok, I surrender. I will love it" Ellie finally said, and hugged us all while we all laughed. 

"Sammy, stop flirting with your girlfriends" It was my sister voice who interrupted us. The twins and Claire flinched at my sister words, and a blush appeared on their faces while they moved back a couple of steps. 

"Hehe, you are cute" My sister simply said to them before giving me a hug of her own. 

"Sis, how are you? Did something happen?" I asked in curiosity. I wanted to know why was she here, considering that we don't share the recess periods with the kids on her grade. 

"I'm fine... Sam, I came here to give you some good news, and also to ask for permission" She started with a tone showing a mix of emotions. 

It seemed that she was happy and guilty at the same time. I just looked at her eyes prompting her to continue, and that she did "... Do you remember my best friend?" She asked. 

I do. It's really hard to forget the only ginger on school, and one that adorable too. Besides, Hannah has already introduced us before. 

"Kate. Of course I remember her. You have even told me that today you'll be going to her house to a pijama party" 

"That's true... Well the thing is, her uncle works at this network that focus on making cartoons. And thanks to Kate, he got to know about our comic" She smiled widely. 

"'Power puff girls' will be on tv!" The twins and Claire said excitedly. They were even happier than me. 

That was great news. I would have preferred to somehow make the cartoon myself, so I could've own it. But I know that it was impossible for now.

"Yep. And he's currently at Kate's house, so I wanted to talk to him about it today... Unless you want to be there too?" 

So she's worried about that. It was cute from her, but like the minor she is my sister can't sign any deal, so there is no danger with her being alone.

"Oh, don't worry big sis. I know that you'll be fine on your own. I trust you" I encouraged her. 

"Sammy!" She simply said, before lifting me up and spinning around a couple of times. 

"Yeah Hannah, you'll do great" My friends said encouragingly. 

"Thanks girls" My sister said happily, "You are all so great. I would be happy with any of you being Sam' s girlfriend" she added playfully after a while. 

At that my friends just flushed and lowered their heads shyly. Which I just couldn't ignore. 

"But Hannah, the three of them are my girlfriends already" I said with innocence. 

It seems that I went too far, because the three of them just ran away before I could continue with my act. 

"You're cruel little brother" Hannah said with a smirk on her face when we realized that they wouldn't come back. 

"Hehe, I learned from the best" I replied with a little smile. 

Then we discussed about her 'meeting'. Basically I just told her to not worry that much for the money, and to just offer the TV rights for a limited amount of time. Maybe that would make Kate's uncle reconsider his idea to make the show to begin with, but for starters it was a good baseline. 

When the recess was over I said my goodbyes to Hannah, whom I'll not see until tomorrow. Then I reunited with my friends who acted like nothing happened, and because I didn't want to make things awkward I didn't say anything. 

In class, like I've doing lately, I focused in creating my 'own' comic universe. I wanted to have a continuous story line, with a lot of characters. And the timeline was what's making me work so hard on it. 

Until now, the characters I had that I wanted to do, and that were coherent with the world I planned, were: 'Batman', 'Spiderman', 'Powergirl', 'Hulk', 'Static', 'Black panther', 'Scarlett witch', 'Wonder woman', 'Aquaman', 'Guardians of the galaxy', 'Doctor strange', and mutants (in a certain degree). 

Dedicating myself to organize the comic world, my day passed quickly with no major incident. There was a math test, but it's not even worth mentioning. And like it was already planned, my father picked me up at the school gates. 

"How was your day?" I asked my father. I knew that he has been working on a game for this 'new' hand-held console, for about four months now. 

"Not that well to be honest. But that's to be expected considering that this is the first time we are doing a game for this new console" He said with his usual energetic nature. 

"Well, if you have any problem with the game, just remember that my offer is still in place" I joked. 

I wanted to make a certain game, especially for this time an age. But I wouldn't just hande it like that, I wanted to own it myself. 

"About that. In the past I may have talked about your proposal to my boss, and now with how I been talking about you, and the news of your book being a week away only... Let's say that it wouldn't be an impossibility in a couple of years" He said casually. 

"Are you saying that I'll be able to make my own game under the company you work for, and still conserve the rights to it?" I asked. I wanted to be excited, but it was just too good to be true. 

"Like I've said to you before. If you are willing to share the ownership of any game you do, I would be able to help you with getting published... But yes. The times are changing, and it wouldn't be impossible for it to be real. Especially if the games we'll develope are not well received.

Although there's things you need to learn first. I have teached you the basics, but there's much more to learn before you can even think on making your own game" He finished jokingly. He's aware of how good I really am, it wasn't just arrogance. 

In my past life I made a living making games, so letting my family know of my 'talent' in that regard, was one of my first priorities when I realized that this was not the world I once knew. Which turned out to be an easy job with my dad's profession. 

"Of course dad. You can teach me whenever you want" I simply said with a confident smile. I didn't even refer to the ownership topic, there was no way I would change my mind about it.

Samuel Bane, a guy who was just a normal 23 year old in another life, was living in a new world with his memory intact. 

The new world is almost exactly the same as the one he lived before, except that the period of time was similar to the mid 80's that he knew by the movies and tv shows he watched.

This story will focus on how Sam enters the entertainment business. Getting his works published and meeting new people on his way towards an unheard level of success. 

The concept of the story has inspiration in "I'm really a super star", but it's nothing alike.

The Javitz Center is bursting with energy. The line in the morning went up and down 34th street. It's the last day of this year's New York Comic Con. People dressed as their favorite characters from every conceivable fandom parade around to get comic books signed, pictures taken, attend artist/writer's panels, compare costumes, purchase merchandise and collectibles, as well as hang out and connect with fellow fans of the same work. It's a magical time.

However, this NYCC is a bit different than usual. People dressed as Spider-Man, Thor, Black Widow, and many other beloved Marvel characters can be seen with mixed emotions on their faces, excited, yet also despondent. Looking at them you'd think that someone just told them that their favorite grandmother was about to die but was also leaving them with her entire fortune after she passed away. If asked about it, many would agree with that sentiment, especially those who live in this city that never sleeps.

The reason for this occurred two days ago. It was announced online that this would be a beloved icon's last convention in his birth city of New York. The man who has given all Marvel fans so much of his time and energy, as well as being a co-creator of so many of the more well known characters in the Marvel Universe.  Stan Lee is having his last panel at this location today, this afternoon, in-fact. Right now though, the man every comic book fan adores can be seen chatting and signing autographs from behind a white plastic table with the upcoming Marvel Studios movie poster "Spider-Man: Homecoming" blown up behind him.

One New Yorker can be seen in line to get the man's signature, shuffling in place nervously but gingerly holding a limited edition copy of Fantastic Four #72. His deep green eyes looking over the others ahead of him in order to see how long it'll be until it's his turn. A cough from behind startles him. He turns around to see who wants his attention.

"Hey tall guy, what's got you so impatient? Not like you can make this line move any faster."

Embarrassed, the man scratches the back of his dark brown head of hair as he looks down to acknowledge the older gentleman. He must be around five ten? Five nine? Maybe 70 or 80 years old. And dressed as Thanos, The Mad Titan, of all people, complete with a replica of the infinity gauntlet and purple makeup. It's kind of a odd choice of character for an elderly person to dress as. While keeping up with the rest of the line, the brown haired man responds.

"S-sorry, it's just, I've always wanted to meet him again since the first NYCC I went to and I don't want to miss him. I mean, it's his last one, y'know?"

'Thanos' shows a knowing smile.

"I get it, believe me, but doin' what your doin' ain't gonna help at all. By the way, been meanin' to ask you... who are you cosplaying as?" 'Thanos' asks, gesturing to the man's attire. "You can't be dressed as Peter Parker, you're a bit too bulky for it... Clark Kent? That'd fit, but you don't have the glasses on..."

"Huh?" The man looks down at his plaid button down shirt, white undershirt, and jeans. "Oh! No, sorry, I actually couldn't really afford to make a costume this year. So, I'm just me, unfortunately."

"Ah," 'Thanos' nods. "No worries young man, we've all been there. By the way, name's Jack. And you are?" Jack extends his non-gloved hand out for a handshake.

Taking Jack's hand with the one not holding his most prized comic, the man replies, "Jonathan Stevens, call me Jon, nice to meet you. Nice Thanos costume, by the way."

Jack grins, "Thanks, made it myself. Took a while to get it right, though people keep telling me I'm too old for this stuff. If I had a build like you and maybe twenty or so years younger I'd probably be able to pull it off better."

Now it was Jon's turn to smile, "Nonsense, just say you're a Thanos where Dr. Strange used the Time Stone to accelerate your age and you're good to go!" 

Jack showed a bemused expression and chuckled as the both of them kept walking forward in line. "Yea, that'd work, if I didn't have the Time Stone already in the Infinity Gauntlet that is."

"Ah, I guess you're right. Then how about a Thanos that's an extra few thousand years old?" 

"Again, Infinity Gauntlet. With the stones, Thanos wouldn't need to age like he normally would. Plus, his race's longevity doesn't work like most others, he'd look the same clear up until the day he died."

"Hmm, then say you're a Watcher who is a fan of the Titan?"

"Nope, if there were a Watcher that was a fan of Thanos he'd have his title revoked. Though they're supposed to be neutral, they favor good over evil. The only outlier in the Watchers is that simpleton that watches Deadpool exclusively. And the other Watchers barely tolerate him because Wade Wilson is usually doing good." 

Jon and Jack both continue chatting about comics, how to resolve Jack's cosplay identity, and their favorite characters for a while. All of a sudden a trio of cosplayers dressed as Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and Power Girl walk by, distracting Jon for a few seconds while Jack gives the young man a smirk. Though, after a bit it becomes more annoying than funny. So Jack snaps him back to reality.

"Hey now, they're beautiful alright, but there's no need to stare that much. What would your girlfriend think?"

Startled, Jon hastily waves his hand in front of his face. "Eh!? No, no no. I d-don't have a girlfriend. At least, not anymore."

Jack's eyes widen slightly in surprise . "Really? Big guy like you doesn't have a girlfriend? Well, I'm sorry to hear that, what happened?"

"Ah, w-well... after I got out after my last tour I found out she left me, so I moved back home to Queens for a while." Jon shows a self deprecating smile. "She said she couldn't stand me being away all the time and that I wasn't able to give her what she needs. She's married now with a kid on the way..."

"Ah jeez, I'm sorry, shouldn't have brought it up. Wait a minute. Got out? Last tour? You a vet?"

"Hmm, I wouldn't really classify myself as a veteran. It's not like I was in the full 20. But I did a few tours with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion in Afghanistan. Some of my friends that served with me would say that anyone who deployed and saw the desert is a vet, but personally, I think the guys who stayed in and continued their service after being in that hell are the real veterans. But anyway, after that, well, like I said I got out and came back home."

"So, what're you doing now?"

"Not a whole lot. Living by myself and going to school again to get a degree, G.I. Bill won't use itself, you know? But mostly I'm just reading comics and watching tv and movies."

"Hey, no shame in that. And thank you for your service."

Smiling, Jon appreciated the elderly gentleman's sentiments. Prior Service men and women may not get treated as badly as they used to after Vietnam, but in a city like New York it's a bit rarer to find someone who is grateful for the sacrifices that people like Jon have made in service to the country. So, Jack saying that meant a lot. 

The odd duo made small talk for a while. Soon it was almost time for Jon's turn in line. However, before he could go up to his idol he got stopped by Jack.

"Wait a bit, been meaning to ask you. What's so important about that Fantastic Four comic you have? You seem to treasure it. But from what we've been talking about it doesn't seem like you particularly care for the FF all that much." Jack asks, looking at the comic held carefully in Jon's hand. 

"Oh, this?" Jon brings the 72nd issue up. "Yea, I don't care much about the FF. Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm are one thing, but Reed Richards... I don't like much, and those movies are cringe worthy. This issue is special though."

"Oh?" Jack quirks up an eyebrow. "And why's that?"

Jon gets an excited look on his face. "Because, this is one of the few times we meet the One-Above-All. As the Creator you don't hear about him much and the focus is more on Earth and it's protectors. I figured there must be more to him, so I wanted to ask Mr. Lee about him while also asking him to sign the page where the FF meets him. I know this incarnation of the character is more an homage to Jack Kirby, but it still seems appropriate, you know?" 

Jack frowns a bit. "What more to the character do you need? He's omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. Kind of hard to really put a finger on that sort of being don't you think? Even worse to try and have a story surrounding him, or her."

"Well, uh, it's just there isn't a character in the Marvel Universe that doesn't have a story and I wish I could experience his. Heck, a being like that inside the Marvel Universe? I wish I could BE the One-Above-All." Jon looks back at the line, "Ah, sorry, Jack, I need to go, it's my turn!"

As Jon scampers off giddily, Jack laughs at his young friend's antics. "Indeed, it just might be." 

At this his eyes seem to glow for a split second before being replaced by his normal look. After a few minutes, he walks toward Jon, who's standing in front of Jack's best friend and colleague. 

Jack places his gloved hand on Jon's shoulder as he gets his comic back from Stan, and before he can ask his question says, "Stan, this one."

Jon looks at his new costumed friend curiously. 'Does Jack know Mr. Lee?'

Stan Lee looks up surprised. He takes his trademark aviator sunglasses off and points them at Jon. "You sure Jack?" Jack nods. Stan shrugs, "Alright, but you have to explain it to him." Stan Lee takes out a pencil from his pocket, a worn out, dirty, chewed up pencil. He then reaches under the table and brings up a blank sheet of paper. As he places it on the table, the whole convention center seems to quiet as if someone is turning the volume dial down on a stereo. Once the paper hits the table, it's eerily silent. Jon starts to panic a bit. 'Just what is going on!?' The only thing Jon can hear is his, Jack's, and Mr. Lee's breathing. As the elderly celebrity drops his old pencil down onto the page, a word escapes his lips. 

"Excelsior"

Jon's consciousness fades to black as his body turns into motes of light until it disappears entirely.

"Thanks Stan, as always." Jack Kirby says as he walks away and fades into nothingness.

"See you in a few years, Jack." Says Stan, and life returns to the convention hall.

Sorry, I know I’m a hypocrite. Honestly, I don’t think I can write a character who’s OP. I’m not done writing, and it has been a valuable learning experience, which is what the fic was for in the first place. I’m sorry for the people who enjoyed it. I may come back to it in the future but I’ll have to see. 

Currently I’m writing short stories on my PC with different character ideas, trying to find a character that’s fun to write, able to grow, and still grabs interest. 

The problem with this MC is that as soon as he realizes that his powers are based purely on his own will and imagination, there’s no more challenge, no real growth. Or at least, I’m not good enough of a writer to keep it interesting after that happens. 

I think my next work will be on Archiveofourown, probably under a different handle.

Once again, thank you for your interest and for enjoying it while it lasted. I’m surprised it got within the top 50 fics on this thing at one point. 

You know what’s not fair? I was in such a slump for so long with this. Yet, I start getting ideas again as I’m writing to tell you that it’s definitely over. I’m making notes of my ideas, but I’m going to have to shelve it anyway for now. I’m just not good enough for this kind of story at the moment.

At the end of the school day, Mr. Damocles hurriedly rushes Marinette, Alya, Nino, and Adrien out of the school, before closing the doors behind them. Mr. Damocles then tip-toes into his office, making sure nobody is watching him, and boots up his computer program, Albert. He attempts to get Albert to open up the secret compartment behind his painting with a secret code; however, after several failed attempts, Damocles is forced to open it manually, revealing several framed Knightowl comics, a Knightowl figurine, a grappling hook, a boomerang and a custom-made Knightowl costume. Donning the (somewhat ill-fitting) suit, Mr. Damocles takes up the identity of The Owl and heads out to patrol Paris.

Ladybug and Cat Noir become frustrated with The Owl.

Outside, Mr. Damocles attempts to help a mother and son rescue their cat from a tree, although all his attempts to do so fail, until Cat Noir and Ladybug arrive to save him and the cat from falling. Ladybug and Cat Noir mention that this is the fifth time they've had to save Owl from himself, and advise him to not attempt to be a superhero and endanger himself. TVi reporters arrive on the scene and Clara Contard interviews The Owl. The Owl claims that he will try to do better next time, being oblivious to Ladybug and Cat Noir's real point, before running off, not realizing that the camera was following him the entire time, leaving Ladybug and Cat Noir to deal with the press. Both Ladybug and Cat Noir advise the children of Paris to not act like The Owl and try to be superheroes like him, as it is dangerous. At the end of her broadcast, Nadja Chamack asks the question of who The Owl's real identity is.

That evening, Ladybug and Cat Noir discuss Mr. Damocles' superhero antics on a rooftop and decide to create a plan to make him feel like a real hero for at least one day, so that his dream will be fulfilled and he'll stop acting like a superhero. Through the night, Marinette creates fake copies of her earrings, Cat Noir's ring, and a fake supervillain costume made out of cardboard.

The next day, after school ends and Damocles yet again takes up his Owl persona, Ladybug and Cat Noir go to Alya's house, and they tell her about their plan. Alya agrees to pretend to be a villain named "Cardboard Girl" who is holding them hostage. Alya calls Damocles and "reveals" that she had captured Ladybug and Cat Noir, and that he is the only one who can save them. At the park, Cardboard Girl is taking Ladybug and Cat Noir's fake Miraculouses. Ladybug and Cat Noir then pretend to be in danger but act relieved when The Owl arrives. Owl fires his grappling hook at Cardboard Girl, only for it to end up snagging onto a moving garbage truck, which drags him into a fence. Ladybug apologizes for what happened and slips up by revealing Owl's identity of Mr. Damocles while people are snapping pictures of him. The Owl runs off crying, with Ladybug, Cat Noir and Alya left hoping that nobody has heard about what has happened.

Back in his office, Mr. Damocles is on the internet, where the news has revealed his identity to Paris and Alec Cataldi is mocking him. Meanwhile, Hawk Moth senses Mr. Damocles' sadness and sends an akuma after him. The akuma enters Damocles' computer, and Hawk Moth offers Damocles real powers and weapons in exchange for Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses. Damocles accepts Hawk Moth's offer and is transformed into Dark Owl.

Later that evening, Marinette is sewing in her room while Tikki watches Clara Nightingale's music video on her computer. Dark Owl then hijacks the television broadcasts throughout Paris, to the disbelief and horror of Marinette and Tikki, as well as Adrien and Plagg. Dark Owl announces that he has kidnapped a multitude of zoo animals, locked them in a bus dangling off the Eiffel Tower, and, with the press of a button, can drop them all on a helpless kitten; and if anyone tries to save them, liquid nitrogen bombs will freeze and shatter the tower's structure, destroying them anyway. Dark Owl then demands that Ladybug and Cat Noir hand over their Miraculouses to him, also telling them to follow his Owl-Signal to find him before ending the transmission. Marinette and Adrien then immediately transform into their respective superhero identities. At the same time, Dark Owl gets Albert to activate the Owl-Signal.

Ladybug and Cat Noir meet on a rooftop, coming up with the plan of letting Cat Noir distract Dark Owl while Ladybug sneaks up on him from behind. At the Parc des Princes, Cat Noir, as per the plan, distracts Dark Owl by talking while Ladybug scouts the villain from the back, guessing that the akuma must be in one of his weapons on his belt. Ladybug attacks Dark Owl and manages to knock his detonator to Cat Noir, only to be flung away onto her partner by Dark Owl's hook line. Dark Owl tells the heroes that they have one last chance to surrender their Miraculouses, but they still refuse. Dark Owl ensnares the two using his grappling hook and they are forced to roll away as Dark Owl attempts to pounce on them. Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm on the ropes to escape and Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm soon afterward, receiving a fountain pen. Ladybug and Cat Noir incapacitate Dark Owl long enough for them to get a hold of the detonator on top of a shipping crate, only to find that the countdown will not stop. Dark Owl then has Albert open a trapdoor on the crate, dropping the two inside the crate and trapping them there; and he reveals that the animals, bus and bombs were nothing but holograms.

At that moment, the crate begins to fill up with whipped cream, which Dark Owl claims will drown the two heroes if they refuse to give up their Miraculouses. Using her Lucky Vision, Ladybug spots the camera lens at the top of the crate, Cat Noir's ring, and the pen. She then squirts the pen ink over the lens so that Dark Owl can't watch them, although the latter is unfazed by this. Cat Noir is unable to break down the crate's walls, and deems their situation hopeless; however, Ladybug instead decides to give up and hand over their Miraculouses, telling Cat Noir that they must close their eyes when they detransform.

Marinette and Adrien keep their eyes closed.

Both Tikki and Plagg see each other's Miraculous wielders, which shocks Plagg, but they don't say anything. Marinette is about to take Adrien's ring but, remembering she still has the fake Miraculous she had made, gives those to Dark Owl, who in turn sends them to Hawk Moth. Feeling triumphant for a moment, Hawk Moth discovers the Miraculouses are fake, but by then both kwamis have been able to recharge and the two heroes once again transform, and Cat Noir destroys the crate. Dark Owl wonders how they did it, but Ladybug merely tells him that they would never give him their Miraculouses and claims to have had a Plan A, B, C, and all the alphabet to Z.

Dark Owl fires his boomerangs at them while the heroes are still trying to figure out where the akuma is. Telling Cat Noir to cover her, Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm and receives a Knightowl comic book. Upon reading it, she figures out that as the "real" Knightowl has a partner, so must Dark Owl. Just as Cat Noir manages to restrain him, she realizes the akuma is back at the school and goes to Principal Damocles' office to try to destroy the akumatized computer, but Dark Owl gets there too. After using her Lucky Vision she kicks the rolled-up comic book to the Knightowl figurine that's on the secret compartment, but the villain is able to remove one of her earrings, almost detransforming Ladybug. Then the falling figurine triggers a chain reaction that knocks over the monitor, releasing the akuma, and Ladybug retrieves her earring and purifies the akuma. Hawk Moth is once again defeated but vows to get revenge. Afterward, Ladybug and Cat Noir see that Mr. Damocles has become a superhero on a smaller scale by doing good deeds, and has genuinely earned people's admiration.

Now that Cat Noir and Ladybug have more free time, Cat Noir asks her if she'll go to the movies with him. She politely turns down his offer, saying that she made a promise to hang out with someone else and that he'll see her soon, as she swings away, leaving Cat Noir smiling wistfully. At Alya's house, Marinette is playing a video game with Alya. As Alya explains her latest adventure with Ladybug and Cat Noir, Marinette wins the game. Startled, Alya says it was unfair because she wasn't looking, and tickles Marinette, leaving the two of them laughing. Tikki quietly laughs before the end card appears.

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir[5][6](French: Miraculous, les aventures de Ladybug et Chat Noir; also known as Miraculous Ladybug[2][7][8] or Miraculous[9][10]) is a CGIsuperhero animated series produced by French studios Zagtoon and Method Animation in collaboration with De Agostini Editore in Italy, Toei Animation in Japan, and SAMG Animation in South Korea.[2][11] The series features two Parisian teenagers, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, who transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir, respectively, to protect the city from supervillains. They also have a crush on both their heroic and civilian forms.

The land which was pouring with the blood of the Ancient Emperor was filled with the precinct of Ancient Trees. Without anyone noticing, the shadow of a man with a yellow robe and tassels that covered his face appeared. He stared at Sha Wujing quietly. Despite Sha Wujing being a legend and experiencing the Pilgrimage to the West, he still trembled with fear. The scepter in his hand turned into a real dragon accompanied with the sound of copper rings intertwining, and it isolated out a world with its own heaven and earth.
At this moment, the figure of the emperor suddenly stepped forward, and the glimmer which was shining from his eyes passed through the tassels.
Before Sha Wujing had the time to think, his Divine Sense became vague, and his body, together with the scepter, were inexplicably compressed. He turned into a thin layer of paper, as if he was an actualized drawing. The similar drawings were stacked, and there were projections of him from different universes, linked to each other just like a comic strip.
The comic strip was collapsing, and the figures of the paper men huddled together into a group of words before flashing toward the emperor who was old and mysterious. It finally fell into his palm and merged into a common book.
The cover of the book was written with its title consisting of azure-like gold characters:
"The biography of Sha Wujing!"
In just a few moments, a legendary mighty person had became a book which recorded the projection of his life!
The precinct of the ancient Fusang trees was really strange and shocking!
Suddenly, radiance emitted from the book. Without any wind, the pages moved on its own, flipping to the Spirited Mountain part. The words mysterious corpse were highlighted, floating above the book and blooming in infinite light. It shone directly onto the eyes of the emperor's figure.
The emperor with tassels covering his face raised his left hand to cover his eyes. He yelled in an illusory pain and stepped back in a rush, crashing and collapsing as if an imaginary bubble had been popped.
The book rolled to the ground and swelled under the shining of boundless light, and the words flew out and merged into figures of paper men. The paper men became bigger just like balloons being blown, until it finally displayed Sha Wujing and his countless reflected selves.
The reflected selves returned to their respective Myriad Worlds. Sha Wujing touched the pouch on his waist and said with appreciation,
"Thank goodness for mom's great foresight."
It was terrifying when he had to battle with this kind of strange enemy who couldn't be accurately evaluated by grades. Even if he cooperated with Zhang Deng, he might also turn into a book without the pre-guiding and long term preparation from his mother. Moreover, perhaps he would be passed to children, be read and told by them, and finally torn into pieces with no trace left behind.
His pale and colorless eyes looked at the top of the ancient Fusang tree which was where the emperor with tassels was standing a while ago. The mulberry leaves surrounded a fruit. It looked slightly transparent, and its color was dark. It reflected the things around just like a strangely designed mirror.
Sha Wujing gently sucked in a breath and solemnly recited,
"Ajati Matriarch, the Void Hometown."
The blossoming white lotus emerged and surrounded his right hand. He then directed his right hand to that fruit in order to pick it up.
Once he succeeded, he immediately destroyed that green grave and the accumulated white flowers left by the previous holy maiden. He erased all her preparations, and then returned to the Void Hometown with the fastest speed.
This fruit was of great importance. Once it appears, there would be many people who would aim for it!

In front the ancient Fusang tree, there were colors of red, green, black, and white making noises similar to that of boiling water. The Celestial Lamp Ambassador had a real battle with Shaoxuan and Xi'e. They no longer held back, causing the nearby void to collapse and the rules of heaven and earth to turn into chaos. The four elements plagued everything along with it, leading to a scene as if heaven and earth had experienced its first great damage.
The Last Ship was surrounded with the yellow scent, infiltrating with the water of Holy Virtue. It avoided the four elements while attempting to overcome the damage as it sailed toward the Celestial Lamp Ambassador amidst the aforementioned colors.
While Xi'e tried her best to control the Last Ship, Shaoxuan combined his direct knowledge and martial arts skills with the Tyrant's Invincible Blade. It shot out its strength and power, making the Wanderer Lamp flicker and the right hand of the Celestial Lamp Ambassador to be scorched and trembling slightly.
He was strong enough and had laid out the Ten Directions of the Wanderer's Azure World. When facing the Last Ship and the Tyrant's Invincible Blade, together with two legendary mighty people with a similar level, the Celestial Lamp Ambassador felt like he was unable to cope with them and he was being forced to come forward step by step.
It seemed the Last Ship was coming towards him, almost arriving at the ancient Fusang tree. The Celestial Lamp Ambassador's expression remained unchanged, but his eyes were more dignified. He raised his right hand's sleeves and it changed the heaven and earth, the World in the Sleeve!
Heaven and earth were dark, and the four elements disappeared. The Last Ship flew into the sleeve of the Celestial Lamp Ambassador.
He immediately sat cross-legged, placing the Wanderer Lamp in his right hand. The light converged and condensed into numerous glazed crystals, completely covering the sleeves.
Boom!
The sleeves swayed, one expanded and another shrunk.
Boom!
The thunder echoed, and the sleeves expanded rapidly.
Bang!
The thunder resonated together with the explosion while the purple electricity and giant ship flew together, breaking through the sleeve, crushing the lights and glaze.
At this moment, there was an infinite and boundless light shining downwards from above the ancient Fusang tree.
Seeing that Shaoxuan and Xi'e had escaped from the trouble and arrived at the ancient Fusang tree, the Celestial Lamp Ambassador had a slight change in expression. He suddenly sighed and spit out a white wave which directly blew out the Wanderer Lamp!
When the lights went out, the Three Realms were dim. Shao Xuan and Xi'e felt that they were in a boundless darkness. They couldn't distinguish the direction, for even if they were riding on the Last Ship they still couldn't find their way.
The ancient Fusang tree was just in front, but they could no longer see it. At the infinity peak, the Celestial Lamp Ambassador's eyes which were filled with indifference and looked down on them quietly!

"I am Yuanshi!"
Meng Qi was shocked, and the self-perception that did not disappear almost collapsed.
He had always had great fear in his heart as he was afraid to fall into the trap of the Heavenly Lord Yuanshi after getting rid of the Devil Buddha. When he created and absorbed the projection of the reflected self, he always balanced the two sides and found a way out.
At this moment, in his congenital nature, he actually met a mysterious Taoist who claimed to be Yuanshi!
Could it be that the real intention has been revealed?
Could it be that the oldest and most powerful Nirvana Realm Individual had always been hidden in his nature?
Meng Qi's experience, memory, and cognitive fragments were spinning fast, forming numerous modes of thinking, constantly deriving and sparking with wisdom.
Upon achieving Legendary status and seeing the self, it was actually fairly normal to see some of the big characters in the congenital nature. Many of the legendary parts of the ancient books that remained to this day did record similar phenomena.
Among them, the most common figure was Lord Ling Bao. He was the symbol of having, from having to nothing, it included the end of heaven and earth, so it was also the Creation Aura of all things and the origin of the congenital nature. After cutting myself to see me and returning to the cogenitial, seeing the figure was an expected occurrence.
Secondly, it was the figure of Lord Dao De. The cogenitial I came directly from the Da Dao and was the closest to the Da Dao. Meanwhile, Lord Dao De was the incarnation of Da Dao, which was the order of the existence of the Myriad World and was coincidentally corresponding to the closest to Da Dao. There was a lot of the ancient mighty people who saw him when they broke through to the Legendary realm in the congenital nature.
It was followed by the Buddism Maha Bodhisattva and the Great Luohan. When achieving the Buddha attainment, they would see the Buddha Golden Body, but the appearance of the statue was their own appearance.
But for one to be able to see the Heavenly Lord Yuanshi's figure when achieving the Legendary realm was something no one had ever heard of!
Was the oldest Nirvana Realm Individual coming out from behind the scenes and going to the front of the stage?
The danger was emerging. Based on his instinct, Meng Qi withdrew from this situation. During the past, he would follow his accurate hunch and not hesitate to complete his actions.
However, after experiencing the abandonment of the strength of martial arts, he has already realized that his hunch could not be relied upon. Even if they have been shown to be correct again and again, and they have helped him to avoid death, but he couldn't fully believe and rely on them as they were likely to go wrong.
Looking around, Meng Qi did not recklessly withdraw as he immediately realized that something was wrong.
Based on his current capability, it was difficult to escape if the Heavenly Lord Yuanshi took action.
In this case, why not face him directly and figure out the whole story!
Exploring with his cognitive abilities, Meng Qi found that the ancient Taoist was extremely illusory, and had a sense of established self!

There were lightning and thunder appearing in Meng Qi's mind. With a boom, it illuminated the darkness and he realized the reason.
He owned the characteristics of Nirvana Realm, so of course he was different from other Legendaries.
If every congenital nature backtracked upon on time, experienced the replacement of three souls and returned to the beginning, they would come from the beginning of everything and thus be able to see Yuanshi.
As the saying goes, as long as the heart can see Buddha, then everyone is Yuanshi!
If he couldn't cut himself to see himself, and just made a wrong decision based on experience, cognition, and instinct, the moment he drops out, he would never be able to achieve Legendary status in the next few decades!
He looked at the Premier Taoist and burst into laughter,
"It's me!"
The Premier Taoist laughed as well,
"It's you!"
He stepped forward and the figure disappeared. Now, Meng Qi was seated on the place where the Premier Taoist was earlier!
He felt his whole body become clear instantly and could sense the resonance from the infinity peak.
At the beginning, the creatures were legend. They lived at the infinity peak and projected the world. It then changed and the projection became reflected self while the original self would lower the origin. Now, the clear resonance were exactly where it should be.
The characteristics were coming forward with their perfectly matched origins. The lines of karma were highlighted, connecting the reflected self projections, and they transformed with qualitative change, forming a golden Nirvana Realm lotus that bloomed with excessively bright light.
The golden lotus platform bringing Meng Qi's reflected self passed through layers of obstacles and flew toward the infinity peak.
Meng Qi formed a Wu'Ji Seal with both his hands. With a smile, he spoke in a low voice,
"Passing through the mountains barefoot, without asking for help from deities or Buddha."
"Only upon seeing Yuanshi at the end of the path did I finally know I am myself!"
The sound echoed, and the void shook. The Moonlight Bodhisattva watched as Meng Qi's body emitted colorful lights and fell into the Real World.
Above the air of the Real World, the mist emerged by layers. It was broken and silent, and the highest place was blurry and difficult to see.
"Celestial world crossing the horizon?" In a secret place, Devil Master Han Guang suddenly stood up and looked out, "This is a phenomenon of legendary realm self-achievement!"


I care not of my past and neither of my future.
Conquering all heroes and foes while looking with disdain at the horrors of the Samsara, I yearn only for a life of thrilling wonders!
History will repeat itself after many ages as the menace of the Great Calamity rises once more.
Which will rise with triumph in the face of adversity; the Golden Form of the Great Buddha or the invincible Heavenly Taoist Form?
Which will seize all glory amidst all struggles; The Buddha's Palms or the  Seven Strokes of Heaven's Interception?
From the sanctum of the Shaolin Temple, Meng Qi's adventures and struggles through the Samsara begin as we follow his climb to claim the title of "the Unrivaled and the Invincible One"!


The children didn't seem to mind this. Sally said, "It's no problem. Although we don't have guardians, we follow around our buddies who do."
"The greater the risk the great the return," Kent said excitedly. "If we enter an area that no one has explored, we could possibly get more customers."
Li Du shook his head. "No, little buddies, you guys need to watch your safety. Pair up to do this, okay? Two people to one small cart, understand?"
The few children exchange glances and obediently said, "Okay."
Li Du took the small carts out of the trunk and placed the cookies on them. He sought the opinion of the children before loading the cookies on.
"These are lemon-flavored. Add on some peppermint ones. Who would like to sell more peanut butter cookies? The caramel ones sound great too, right?"
There were seven children in total and two to a group, so there was an odd one out.
The one who was left out was a quiet girl with a comic book in her hand. She watched them silently.
The children had formed their own cliques; they knew very well the importance of strong alliances. They had tried to choose the best helper for their cookie-promoting team.
The little girl holding the comic book stood there alone; she looked shy and reserved. Such a personality was not suitable for cookie promoting.
Li Du prepared a small cart of cookies for her. Kent laughed, "There's no need to prepare so many for Victoria. Two boxes will do."
Upon hearing that, the little girl pursed her lips and clutched her book. She lowered her head and said nothing.
Li Du walked over and patted her shoulder. He said, "You're wrong, Kent. We'll show you what an F1 selling-speed is like. I'll partner with Victoria."
The little girl lifted her head and looked at him; her eyes, which were a beautiful sky blue, sparkled.
After sending the children into the square, Li Du turned to the little girl. "Victoria, where do you think we should go?"
Victoria placed the corner of her comic book into her mouth and bit it with her small white teeth. She stared at him hesitantly and did not say anything.
Li Du smiled. "Relax, Victoria. We're going to make friends. When you sell cookies to someone, they receive something yummy and you earn money. That's a win-win, and both of you become friends.
"Tell me—where do you want to go make friends?"
The little girl thought for a long while, then said softly, "How about we go to Carrefour? There are a lot of people there. Every time I pass by, I see many people buying cookies there."
In his heart, Li Du shook his head—that was not a good choice.
Indeed, there would surely be a lot of people at the supermarket, but people would be buying things at the supermarket. From the financial aspect, there was an expenditure issue, and they were in a conflict situation.
However, he had noticed that Victoria lacked confidence. If he rejected the little girl's choice, it would be a blow for her. So, he decided to take her suggestion.
They unloaded the cookies after parking the car. Li Du helped Victoria adjust her clothing and straighten her scout cap. Then, he smiled and said, "Come, give me a smile."
The little girl was rather obedient, and smiled at him shyly.
Li Du said, "From now on, we are comrades, understand? We are about to go into battle to get rid of all these cookies."
Victoria blinked her eyes, and said, "Get rid of them? All of them?"
"Yes!"
The little girl stroked her tummy and said, "Aren't we supposed to sell them? If we were to get rid of them, I'd be full after eating just one box. How many can you eat?"
Li Du was stunned. "I—what I meant by 'get rid of them' was sell them, not eat them."
She smiled. "Sorry, my mistake."
Thinking back of her remark earlier, Li Du suddenly realized that Victoria was a glutton!
They pushed the small cart to the entrance of the supermarket; the security guard saw and instantly came over. "Hey buddies, this is not a farmer's market. Sorry, scouts are not allowed to set up stalls here."
The young girl had obviously not expected such a situation to occur. At a loss, she hugged her comic book with a blank stare.
Li Du gave her an "it's okay" hand gesture. "Let me settle this."
He pulled the black security guard aside and was about to use money to resolve the matter.
In the end, another black man walked over and said, "Hi, Li, what're you doing here? What a coincidence."
Li Du saw him and smiled; it was indeed a coincidence. He had bumped into Lewton, the lad from Bones Community. They had worked together to get their hands on Frank's armor a few days ago.
He explained the situation to him. Lewton said nonchalantly, "Okay, don't set up a table here. Just carry your cookies and go around promoting. This way, you're not breaking any rules."
Li Du understood what Lewton meant. He expressed his gratitude and then returned. The little lady asked nervously, "It's settled?"
"Of course," Li Du laughed. "As long as you face a problem courageously, it will be resolved. Understand?"
The little girl nodded, hesitated, and then nodded again more vigorously.
Li Du pushed the cart with the boxes of cookies inside so Victoria could do the promoting.
It was tough this way; the little lady did not dare to speak, and stood in front of the small cart blankly. Her lips were quivering, but she didn't say a word.
Li Du shook his head and brought Ah Meow out. He put a cap on him, and said, "Ah Meow, take this box of cookies. Go, sell it to that person. Remember to collect money."
The cookies were cheaply priced. After all, this was a community activity. There were ten packets of cookies in a box for only two dollars. Tasty snacks at a low price.
Ah Meow saw the money in Li Du's hand, bit the box and ran to a woman with his head raised high.
He put the box down and sat behind it. Then, he lifted his head and looked up with his big eyes. He looked tenderly at the woman carrying her child, opened his mouth and softly cried, "Meow! Meow!"
The woman was surprised to see Ah Meow wearing a Scout cap. She looked around and asked, "Whose cat is this?"
The cap was a little big; it was just right for the little girl but almost covered Ah Meow's entire head. He had to use his claws to push it away so he could see. He continued to meow.
The child that the woman carried started to giggle. "Kitty, kitty!"
Li Du waved to the woman. "Scout activities, madam. Two dollars for a box of delicious cookies."
The woman smiled and asked, "There are animal scouts too? This big cat looks like it is doing well."
Ah Meow continued to meow, and, noticing her smile, went forward and nudged her calf.
The woman was touched. She took out two dollars, gave them to Ah Meow, and retrieved the small box.
The small child stretched out his hand to touch Ah Meow. The ocelot did not resist and let the child stroke him a few times before biting the money and running off.
Li Du passed the money to the little girl and said, "Look, it's so simple. Promoting is easy as long as you have courage. After all, you can't be more scared than a cat, right?"
