The book is an Epistolary novel where the protagonist writes his daily events into a letter amd sends it to an unknown individual. The individual was not revealed within the story. He writes about his high school crush, his childhood trauma and his first Relationship and how he made friends after his only friend died or commited suicide. It really gets exciting to get on this journey of this school boy which everybody does go through at some point of their lives.

Questions - Part 4

      My good time is interrupted by the sound of the door opening. I turn to see everyone else. Nina sees them too and takes a step back. At this, I reach over and wrap my arm around her waist and pull her forward and to my side. These women have no right to be angry at anything. This is my life and my choices. For the first time since this all began, I can tell that my future will be bright. "Heya guys," I say with Nina physically trembling in my arm. Kay is making tight fists but is otherwise unmoving. Mimi and Rose both wear a disgusted expression. Charlie, to my surprise, flickers between what could only be pity- that disdainful of emotions- and what seems to be concealed anger.

      "Is it time for us to go home? I'd like to eat first I'm starving." With that said everyone's expressions wavered marginally and Rose says, "Of course my Lord. Shall we get something to eat from the cafeteria or-" "I'd rather we get something to eat near the station. Nina will be joining us. Could you possibly come with us as well Charlie?" I can immediately tell no one else thinks any of what I just said was a good idea. But oh well. I don't care either.

      "Well?" I turn towards Charlie, asking her. "Oh," she lets leak out while throwing a nervous glance at the others. However, she seems to straighten up a bit and unashamedly says, "I can. Yes. But I don't believe it's a good idea Zero. Not many get along with Ninavin. Many less desire her company." Leave it to the Commander to say what everyone is thinking but not saying. I'm actually impressed with her gumption.

      "Indeed. But I enjoy her company. And last I checked none of you may disobey me. Hell, from my understanding no one will. So long as I'm stuck in this hell I might as well take advantage if some of the perks. And just this once, we are all eating together. If you all wish to blame anyone blame yourselves. You're all acting so selfish despite the fact that Nina has saved my life several times. I don't know what she's done to be hated so, but she's done enough for me. That's all I care about. If it truly bothers you, speak up and tell me no," I tell them, effectively shutting down the conversation. But to my surprise, Rose speaks up, "No."

      All eyes turn towards Rose and we form a collective gasp. "Excuse me?" I ask, confusion dripping from every syllable. Rose looks me dead in the eye and with a rare overly serious glare she repeats herself, "No." Charlie immediately moves in and raises her hand. Knowing what comes next I quickly reach out, and Charlie stops.

      Mimi backs away a step while Kay protectively takes a step forward. Even if she doesn't like my idea, Kay is still willing to defend me. The poor girl. She's willing to put up with something she dislikes based on instinct that shouldn't even be hers. I approach Rose and wait for her to look me in the eye. She eventually moved her head with an apparent effort and meets my gaze. But she simply finds a smile waiting for her. She almost doesn't know how to handle it and tenses up.

      I reach out and cup Rose's cheek. It's hard to imagine how I got here. Not long ago I was in a world that disallowed touch. Yet when it comes to these women and this world, my rules falter and my touch slithers unconsciously against my instinct. Rose's eyes widen to saucers and their blue sheen realizes me, for maybe the first time.

      I flash her a smile and nod. "That's fine Rose. You can go eat somewhere else then, and we can meet at the station." She does her own impression of a fish, jaws flapping open and closed. I glance at the others, "I'm going to go eat with my friend. If you all don't want to join, that's fine. If there is ever something that bothers you, that's all I ask- simply tell me. I'm not a mind reader. But Nina is my friend. If you are going to keep me around, you'll have to get used to that."

      With that, I look towards Charlie, "Will you join me, Charlie? We don't get to see each other often." She gives a fervent look towards the others before returning to me and nodding.

      I give a light touch to each of the girls who choose to stay behind- everyone besides Charlie and Nina. "Let's say we'll meet at the station before nightfall alright?" I leave the others behind and the three of us exit into the hallway. I halt for a second and Charlie gives me a questioning look. I turn to Nina, "I'm sorry, I didn't even ask you if you actually would join me."

      She peeks up at Charlie and seeming to not sense much anger, she speaks to me, "Th-that's fine Evean- Lord Zero."

      "Nina, Charlie may be the commander, but before all else, she and I share a bond. You don't have to suffer airs here." Charlie's face takes on a red countenance and Nina's jaw nearly falls off its hinges. "But you have wifes Evangeline-sama" she cautiously says that last bit with a glance towards Charlie.

      Charlie clears her throat and throws in her own two cents, "She jests Ninavin, the Lord and I-" she's interrupted by me reaching up my hand and flicking her nose. She scrunches it and looks at me in confusion. "What in the world?" she asks.

      "Don't talk like that you stubborn fool. I'll take responsibility for you now, whatever it takes."

      Charlie goes scarlet and Nina suddenly finds the walls very interesting as we walk through the halls. "M-my Lord, that is very misleading to Miss Ninavin here." I give her a teasing smile and tell her to drop the title. If Nina is allowed to, then of course she is. She protests for a bit before saying my name while maintaining her scarlet coloring. This gets a giggle out of Nina who, seemingly feeling more comfortable now, gives Charlie a small prod with her elbow.

      Charlie appears to not appear to know how to deal with this well, and so, offers Nina a rare, small, shy smile. As we approach the entrance way of the Academy Charlie stops and offers me her arm. I look over at Nina, and grab her hand, pulling her over and sliding her arm into Charlie's. "W-w-w-what are you doing Evangeline-sama?"

      I toss her a wide smile and continue out of the Academy, to both of their protests. As we make our way down the steps Nina is still making a pouting face as Charlie turns to her and says, "Ninavin, you know you won't win this," with a small laugh rising in her throat.

      Nina turns with a huff and burns a hole in me with her eyes and simply says, "Nina." This makes my smile touch my eyes as Nina looks away in a pout- but a small smile tugs at her lips.

      "A proper knight to escort a proper lady Nina. That's the way it should be," I say.

      Charlie says with snark in her voice, "So says the Zeroth Knight," while giving Nina a wry smile. Nina seems confident enough to roll her eyes and sighs. We must be making quite the spectacle of ourselves because everyone is turning to look at us. Nina hangs her head and her wispy, yellow bangs flutter on the wind. Charlie reaches over and smooths them behind her ear.

      "Come now. Be with pride. Regardless of the past, you are here today as our Lord- as Evangeline's friend. Being anything less would look bad on her. So if not for yourself, then for her, hold your head high." Charlie finishes and we continue moving through the magical city.

      Eventually, we decide on a restaurant near the station. As we arrive at a wooden door, Charlie reaches out and pushes it open, revealing a way into the restaurant.

      Nina seems to have taken what she was told to heart, and walks, arms linked with Charlie, head held higher than before. Together the three of us walk in, following the door. The whole place goes silent and in the distance, I could hear a glass break. To my side Nina looks to be really uncomfortable and even Charlie looks taken back. I simply give a small wave to everyone and tell the proprietor that we want a table for three, preferably away from prying eyes. The man looks a little older than me and seems to be lost at our arrival.

      But ever the proper host, he straightens up his expression and escorts us to a booth in the corner of the restaurant. Charlie leads Nina to the first seat and lets her slide over to the wall. I take the further seat and slide into the corner. Charlie looks to both Nina and I, and seems to be at a standstill. I giggle and insist that she sits with Nina.

      Nina shakes her head and demands Charlie spend some time with me. It's only when the host returns and clears his throat that Charlie gives up and takes a seat next to me. "What will you have ladies?" the host asks and it's only then that I realize the music is playing again. The band seems to be playing something slow and deliberate.

      The two make their order, but I'm stumped. Now that I think about it, this was a rash decision. For just a moment, even I forgot that I don't belong in this world. I have no idea of what's up or down. Charlie seems to notice at least some hesitation on my part, and says, "Lord Zero will take the house special."

      The man's mouth hangs loose, eyes wide. "Please don't make a scene." I state more than I ask. So I correct myself. "Please?" A smile crosses his expression and temps the corners of his mouth to raise. He smooths his face with great effort and simply states, "Of course," before hurrying off to get our food. I feel a shock run through me for a moment and am assaulted by dizziness. I slump to my side and my head rests on Charlie's shoulder. She perks up immediately and gives me a nervous look.

      "Erm, Zero, please. Regardless of your more… flippant attitude, this is still pushing it. Simply being here with us is already the limit," she tells me.

      After breathing in for a moment, I lazily remove my head from her shoulder and give her a weak smile. "I'm sorry Charlie," and reach under the table to give her hand a squeeze. Much to my surprise, and evidently hers too, she not only gives my hand a return squeeze but doesn't let go of my hand; so I don't let go of hers. With hands clasped under the table I look up at Nina and ask something that's been on my mind before, "Nina, how are the Valkyries chosen?" She gives a tilt of her head, and a flash of jealousy when she realizes both of our hands are under the table. But she simply huffs and asks what I mean by that. "The Valkyries. They're not normal women, of that I'm certain."

      "The Valkyries… represent the best of us," Nina says.

      "Then why is Charlie not my wife?"

      It takes a moment for me to realize what it is exactly I've said, and just how far I've dug myself a grave. "What the hell are you talking about? Of course I'm not good enough to be your wife my Lord!" Charlie spits out. Rapidly she hurries, "I mean, of course I'm not eligible. I am not a certified Vargar," she says with her normal calm voice- if a bit higher pitched.

      When I ask in confusion as to what that means, Nina gives me an exasperated look. "You're so unknowledgeable Evangeline-sama." I give a shy, wry smile and tell her to explain it to me anyways. She glances at a nodding Charlie before continuing. "A person certified as a Vargar is the best at what they do."

      "And that means?" I leave the question in the air. It swims around between us before being picked by Nina and replied to.

      "Literally the best. Years and years before a new Zeroth, practically every year of our lives, we are graded. Everything we do is rated. As we grow older and more specialized, the grades take on more meaning. Most grades are innocuous, even the high ones. However, the highest of all grades, the Vargar, are chosen to be with the Zeroth."

      "Enslaved" I spit out in an angry tone. Nina focuses on the crowd around us with a nervous look and says, "The absolute, very best of each craft is your wife. Charlotte isn't the Vargar of anything, therefore, she can't be a Valkyrie."

      "But what if I chose to make her my wife?"

Isekai, fantasy, with the core themes of Identity and Fate. Story contains a, mostly, lesbian cast.

Volume 2 Synopsis: 

Evangeline Sayagawa makes the ultimate choice at the cost of the ultimate sacrifice: She decides to leave her world that she fought so hard to return to, and return to Arsea in hopes of saving everyone. Little was she aware of just how bad things had gotten. The world she was returning to was cast into chaos and on the precipice of being destroyed. She awakens in this new kind of Arsea, after having witness the end of a dear friend. The world now belonged to the monstrosities of old, the Beta, and their corrupted human warriors, the Eld.

With her fake identity, that which defined her in this world, being stripped from her, she now has to navigate a darkness in which not even the women she loves recognize her.


The first "chapter" posted here is a hyper-condensed version of volume/book 1, in case anyone needs a generalized refresher of events, or for those who wish to start with this book instead as it is faster paced and more action-packed than the first one. Suffice to say, but most of the details from book 1 are lost by doing this; however, enough of the more-important information is present to allow one to understand the general idea of what is going on.

This book features a mostly lesbian cast and deals more so with fate and crises of identity more than anything else. However, there is much more action in this one than any of my other stories thus far and brings about the end of Evangeline Sayagawa's story arch... sort of.

     Will Eve let the title she bears consume her, or will she become the hero in both body and mind? This is the tale of her struggles, and a star-crossed love destined by Fate to never converge. This is the tale of Zero.

*Jane's Point of View*

I bitterly smiled as I put  his photo back to my wallet.
It's been 3 years since I left him. And it's been 3 years of
pain living home alone  without him.
Why am I so unfair? It's always me who dumped him. He doesn't  deserve all of those pain I tattooed  on his heart
"Jane? come out. Hurry!"
Mae shouted. I immediately throw my wallet somewhere and quickly run outside my room.
"What?" I asked in annoyance.
"Look, it's Charlie!" She pointed  the TV and then I saw him.
Charlie Cloyd Namuzudo. As always, he's handsome.
"Ghad.. I heard he's really popular. Why haven't I noticed him before? huhuhuhu" she continued doing dramas in front of our TV and me was like. "Is she serious?" I asked myself.
"Come on, Jane. Sit down."
I rolled my eyes and refused her proposal.
I can't  afford seeing him on that scene. With another girl.
Better to sleep and just dream of him.
Argh. Jane, stop. It doesn't  make sense. That guy won't be yours anymore.
You dumped him. He hates you.
Yeah. That's  right. He hates me.
Arghhhh.

I throw myself in bed and cover my entire face.
I miss him so much. I miss him so much. I miss him so much.

"Hey, b*tch! Are you alright? still breathing? "

-_- Who is she?
Is she really my sister?

"Yah! Still alive! now shut the pretty up"

"Nah. I know you're not alright. Come here outside! Get your ugly ass outta here!"

Huhu. is she insane?

We stayed silent for a moment. 
I know she'll never stop until I spill out the truth.
But hell no. I'll tell nothing.

Why didn't she forced me come out?

I jumped out on my bed and unlocked my door.

"Oh, and I thought you wouldn't come out. Guess my luck. hahahaha"

"Ops, chill. Let's talk for a moment :)"

"I'm not on my mood, Mae. Please. "

"Argh, I know right. I'm used to it since you're always not on your "mood"."  She tightly hold my wrist and grabbed me through the terrace.

Hmm. I closed my eyes for a bit and let the refreshing breeze of an air hug me.

"Hey, Jane?"

Thank God, she interrupted me.

"Oh, sorry." I apologized
"Eh? you don't have to be sorry, lil sis. come on, tell me what's bothering you."

I forced a smile. "Nothing, Mae. I ugh, I'm just so tired doing my job. You know.. Being a photographer is never been easy. You need to d—"

"You're so defensive! haha I was just asking you. Now I know. You're bothered by a guy. hmm.."

O_O shocked. I forgot that she's smart. Oh never mind. hehe Sorry, sis.

"Charlie?"
She asked with those flushing eyes.

Oh no. I shook my head 3 times slowly.

She grinned. "Oh, Chester?" 

pft. That gay? Hell no.
Buy I think it's kinda okay if I use him. I'll say sorry to him next day if my "good" elder sister approach and pinch him. hahahaha.

"Y-yes"
Hahaha sis, I thought you're that smart one. 

"Why? Is he hurting you? Tell me!"
 She cupped my face, my  shoulders and argh. she's crazy. She even cupped my breast! yucks!

"Mae!" I stepped back then there she is.. Laughing as loud as a thunder during a storm.

"Kidding. hahahaha so hey? What did he—"
"Nothing to be taken care of, Mae. I can manage this."

She just shrugged and slowly entering the house. "Make no dramas since you didn't answer me honestly, dear. I hope you won't regret it soon."

Okay! I'm wrong! She's smart. Smarter than I thought. 

"Mae! Is it wrong to chase the past?" I loudly asked.

"I'm not on my mood!"

They all settled onto the bed, reminded that it would be the last time.
"You guys, this is so sad," Remy said. "The four of us will never watch a movie on this bed again."
Emmitt commented, "Yeah, it'll be real sad when there's a lot more room on the bed."
"But it won't be this bed," Remy whined.
"Literally every bed throughout campus is the same," Landon pointed out, taking Emmitt's side. "The only thing that changes about them is the words that are carved into the frames."
"Exactly! I'll never again see the drawing of a dick that someone from years past carved into this one. Like, sure, almost every bed has a dick carved into it, but this one had character."
"Okay, I'm sold," Emmitt said. "This is super sad. We should all kiss the dick in honor."
"No, I'm not doing that."
"That would be very unsanitary."
"Uh uh. No, thanks."
He scoffed, "Fine. I'll just kiss it for all of you."
Remy grabbed his shoulder. "For your health, I'm going to ask that you don't do that, please."
"Jealous?" He raised his eyebrows up and down.
"Of a penis carved into a bed frame?"
"You're upset that I'll be kissing it instead of you."
"Oh. Yes. Totally. You figured me out. Dang it."
He smiled, then pressed his lips to the frame.
"Ew!"
"Do you know how many people have probably touched that?"
"That's pretty nasty."
He clapped his hands together, "Now that the dick-kissing has commenced, let us watch Renee's stupid movie."
"Yeah, that insult doesn't mean as much after I witnessed what you just did," Renee said. "You've lost all rights to be allowed to criticize anything ever."
Emmitt shrugged, "That makes sense. Now go on and play your little movie."
She stuck her tongue out at him. "I will," she sassed.
As they watched the movie, each of them was constantly aware of the waning time they had left with Renee. Landon held her hand the whole time, wondering when he'd see her next and what this change might do to their relationship.
When it was over, the time was only about 8 PM.
"So what do we do now?" Renee asked.
"How about a car ride?" Landon suggested. "We could drive around the city, make last-minute memories, do something cliche that you see in movies."
"Ooh, we could find a tunnel and stand up as we go through it like in The Perks of Being a Wallflower," Emmitt said. "Oh, wait. My car doesn't have a little roof hatch or a truck bed to stand up in." He pouted. "Damn. The whole plan's ruined."
"I'm so sorry you can't live out your dreams," Remy said snarkily.
Ignoring them and just focusing on Landon, Renee said, "That sounds nice. I'd really like that."
"Go get your keys, bitch," Landon told Emmitt.
"Maybe I'd be more inclined to get them if you didn't call me a bitch."
"Getcha car... and bring it around front, peasant."
"That's better," Emmitt said, standing up and heading for the door. "Come along, Rem-Rem. You're riding shotgun."
Remy could tell that Landon wanted a moment alone with Renee, so he followed Emmitt out the door.
As soon as they were alone, Landon asked, "So what does all this mean for us?"
Renee shook her head, "I honestly have no clue."
"I guess that means we're doing the whole long-distance thing, then."
"Landon... you know that never works. And I can't just hold you back while you could be meeting lots of other girls. You've only dated like, two people your whole life. And I don't want to stop you from seeing who else is out there." Her voice begins to break. "There are better people than me for you to date."
"You're breaking up with me? After everything we've been through, we can't make it work?"
"That's not what I'm saying. I love you, and I'm sure I always will, but we can't maintain our relationship when we're going to be so far apart."
"You don't even want to try?"
He expected her to explain herself, but she just shook her head, tired of using words, tired of explaining things, tired of trying. "I can't be a good girlfriend to you right now. Maybe we'll get back together someday, but I have to be alone right now. Do you hate me?"
"I could never hate you, and if you think this is what's best, then I'll just have to get over losing you. Just promise me we'll still talk, that we'll still be friends."
"Of course," she nodded. "We should go. Emmitt's probably got the car by now. For the time we have left, let's just enjoy it. Don't think about what comes after."
"Okay," he said, hugging her and kissing her on the cheek, well aware that it could be the last one they would share. "I love you, Renee."
"I love you, too."

At a festival, 18-year-old Remy overhears a very private conversation. He listens as two people talk about killing another person. He is compelled to follow them and witnesses as a boy about his age murders another teenager. But was this taking of another's life justified? Remy soon finds that he is unable to separate himself from these people and must get closer to this boy in order to find out what brought him into a situation where he needed to kill someone.

Warning: There are mentions of sexual assault throughout this book. The actual act is not explicitly described, but if you are sensitive to that kind of thing, you might want to skip this book.

Later, Remian also brought his family to Fal'Herim, where the Crown Prince was rebuilding with the help of his foreign aid allies. They didn't get to see the prince himself, but they managed to tour the place for at least a couple hours and had lunch at a new restaurant near the airport. Then, they came back with an airship full of new Sand People wanting freedom and to join them at the Frontier.
Three days and lots of rest later, he brought them to Ashdale on Charlie's airship.
"Are you kidding me?!" Mandy half-screamed when she saw them arrive. "Remian's bringing more kids to the Frontier?!"
"They're his own brother and sisters." Charlie hastily tried to pacify her. "They seem to fit in very well."
"What is he teaching them? Weapons and magic?" Mandy demanded.
"Uh… yeah?" Charlie scratched his head.
"And you think that's okay? They should be here! Properly going to school!" Mandy protested. "Growing up in a proper society and learning to be good workers in proper society! How are they supposed to get into college? How are they to get a job or a husband or wife when they grow up?"
"I'm guessing they'd live like royalty. Remian's practically a king back there. Besides, his parents are both teachers and they're opening a new school."
"Remian's parents!" Mandy rolled her eyes. "What kind of teachers could they be?"
"His dad seems to have been a member of the city council back at Petal Town."
"Eh…?" Mandy blinked. "That's… surprising. Looking at Remian, I'd never have guessed."
Charlie gave her an odd look. "Mandy, just what kind of person do you think Remian is? Not just anyone would come all the way out to the Frontier and take charge."
"Um… wasn't he just seeking his fortune like any old treasure hunter?"
"If that were the case, what was he doing fighting Beast Waves with light magic he just barely learned? What's with the missions board and starting an Adventurers' Guild? Why even take you in and all the kids with you?"
"I… I was…" Mandy trailed off. "I mean… any guy, given the chance…"
"Would challenge the Cruel Rose gang for you? Trade his only magic book, lose his job and its protection, and risk my wrath to save you? Most regular guys would rather be clients of the Cruel Rose and pay a much cheaper price to have you that way, without all the commitments or complications he took on."
Mandy's face turned white. "Is that how you see me? A cheap lay in a slaver's brothel?"
"If not for Remian, what do you think would have happened?" Charlie asked. "It's different now. You're here, and free, and life is filled with opportunities. Before talking down on him, you might want to remember who it is you have to thank for getting you to this point. It's not just my family."
Yes, Mandy was indeed getting schooled at Charlie's.
Jane popped up. "Any letters for me?"
"Here." Charlie handed her two. 
"Thanks!" Jane scurried away.
Mandy blinked. "Letters? She's writing to someone?"
"Mindy and Tim, it looks like." Charlie shrugged. "Haven't you done the same?"
"Well, yes, but she's my sister… and Tim…?!" Mandy's eyes widened. "You don't think…"
"Don't overthink it." Charlie advised her, and went to take a shower.
Hours later, Jane handed Charlie a pair of letters. "Can you send these back to Mindy and Tim, please?"
"You know, if you want me to keep being your mailman, you might want to buy stamps." Charlie joked.
"Oh? I can cook you a meal as payment." Jane offered.
"No, no, please don't!" Charlie fled for his life.
With a family more sickly than not in tow, Remian went on a close inspection of Ashdale's hospitals and medical facilities. They stayed three days at Ashdale, spending most of it resting at Charlie's but they did get a lot of check-ups, including a full bloodwork exam, x-rays, eye tests and fluid tests. 
In conclusion, except for Remian's dad, the rest of his family were not well. Not well indeed. His mother had a stomach ulcer and malnutrition issues, especially potassium deficiency, possibly an issue with her digestion. Sabriane had hypovolumia, hypotension, a case of mild jaundice and several allergies. Speaking of allergies, Darian had enough to fill a notebook's page, plus there was an issue with his lungs, probably bronchitis, likely sinus, or something along those lines that even the doctors had never seen before. In contrast to Sabriane, Eriane had hypertension and abnormally high adrenaline releases when triggered. All this was merely what they could detect with a day's worth of tests, all they could manage before the Vin family was too exhausted to go on.
In short, Remian had a skinny mom, a sleepy sister, a snotty brother, and a jumpy youngest sister.
Also, he had a dead elder sister. But nobody outside his family and a few prying doctors knew that.
"How did this happen?" Charlie looked over the medical reports, shaking his head. "I thought the Rain Sultanate was one of the healthier places to live. Plenty of trees and water, good food…"
"Only if you could afford it. Most of the people there can't. The good food you're thinking of usually ends up eaten by the Empire's people. There's a reason why we're called a Vassal State."
"What would it take for our hospital to have equipment and staff on the same level as the one we just left?" Remian asked.
"The equipment is easy enough. Deutero can handle most of it, and my family has friends who can handle the rest. It's going to cost you, though." Charlie paused. "The staff, on the other hand…"
"They're proud, money-minded, and nowhere near as compassionate as they proclaim themselves to be." Remian said, in distress. "The more seasoned and experienced they are, the more they seem to be completely callous towards people's pain and suffering."
It was the same with Phoebe. Remian felt that coldness and professional detachment all over the hospital. Some of the doctors and nurses at least tried to sound kindly, but none of them would bat an eyelash toward asking you to suffer pain in order for them to run an examination. Plus, a good many nurses seemed to be downright obsessed with testing blood pressure.
"It's not that they're money-minded, I think. It's just that they work for a boss, and he's money minded, so they have to collect fees." Charlie tried to explain. "Companies need to profit. This hospital is owned by one such. There are government hospitals too, but they're generally not as well-equipped."
"Why is that?"
"Government funding is low in comparison. The private hospitals have the good stuff, but they're also more expensive." Charlie cleared his throat. "Naturally, my family trusts the private hospitals more."
Remian thought for a bit. "What if… what if government funding was high? High enough that the government hospitals would be better than private ones?"
"Well, that would end private hospitals on the spot." Charlie guessed. "But it's going to cost. Can any government really afford that?"
"What if we built the medical equipment ourselves? That should cut costs." Remian mentioned. "Plus we can offer lots of perks for hospital staff, build them nice houses, offer them personal wolfcat security, Tier 4 food…"
"I'm not sure promising them wolfcat guards will be of much help."
"Lynxmice, then?"
"You're missing the point."
They also had to go shopping. Remian's mom and Sabriane mentioned how Phoebe and Lydia had a shopping list as long as Remian's arm, but really, they were clearly looking at a lot more than just pharmaceuticals. Darian ended up going to-and-fro, carrying loads of goods back each time, everything from furniture to clothing to food. 
"Just how much money did you give them to spend on this trip?" Charlie asked Remian after Darian's fourth trip. The poor boy was already panting, with a goofy grin on his face. Goodness, what did they buy for him to make him so willing to gopher all their shopping like this?
"Fifty thousand." Remian answered shortly.
Mandy almost dropped the book she was 'reading'.

Charlie smiled smugly when he saw that his second Uncle lowered his head in surrender.
"David!" Charlie growled and everyone flinched. "Get out of my bed! And take your tramp with you. If any of you two is in this house one hour from now, I will make sure that you are unable to leave the property ever again."
Jarred watched all this from the side with amusement swirling in his eyes. Yes, Charlie will do fine.
"OK. The show is over!" Charlie's third Uncle, Samuel, exclaimed while shooing the people away from the room. "There is nothing left to see. Go back to the party."
Aileen stood there, frozen. She didn't dare move a muscle. Is this how it ends? Damnit! She didn't manage to touch Emma. Well, there is the next time. At least David is banished, and that is good. Now her parents will give her more things because her brother is useless.
The onlookers reluctantly exited the room and returned to the party. They were all curious how Thomas Smith, second in power in the family will handle this issue with his son, but they were being chased away.
Thomas, Caroline, David, Aileen, and the maid were left in the room.
The maid scooted off the bed and she was dressing up swiftly.
"Dad! She set me up!" David whined while pointing at his sister.
Aileen snorted. "Why are you dragging me into this? Did I tell you to come to this room and screw the maid?"
"No. You told me to come here and wait for Emma!"
Aileen looked at her mother. "Mom, do you hear this? How can I tell Emma to come here and sleep with David? He is obviously making it up just so that he is not the only one at fault."
"You lying bitch!" David screamed.
Aileen waved her hands defensively. "You are the one caught with your pants down. Why are you trying to drag me into the mud with you? I was at the party."
"Yes…" Thomas said suspiciously. "You were at the party. Everyone heard you telling Charlie how Emma held hands with a man and entered this room."
Aileen pouted. "I made a mistake, daddy. But I was right about something fishy happening in this room."
Thomas rubbed his temples. He does not have the energy to deal with all this. No matter what happened and how much Aileen is involved in this, Charlie is set to get David out of the family, and Thomas needs to address that issue first. "David, go pack your things."
"You are kidding…" David said in disbelief. "You are going to listen to what Charlie said?"
"We don't have a choice!" Thomas hissed. "Pack things for a few days and go to a hotel. We need time to find a way out of this."
David was not willing to accept this. "And while you are figuring out things, what should I do?"
Thomas was losing his composure. "Wait in the hotel and try not to mess up the situation more. What did I tell you about not causing a scene!?"
"Honey, watch your blood pressure…" Caroline reminded Thomas.
Thomas took a few deep breaths and looked at David. "Do as I say. Or you will be out of the Smith family permanently. When you settle in the hotel, let me know where you are and we will come in the morning. Then you can tell us how you found yourself in this mess and we will think of a way to reverse the situation. Now, we need to return to the party."
David looked at his parents leaving the room and he was sure that Aileen threw him a smug glance, but he had no time to argue with her now. He needs to pack!
"Young Master Smith…" The maid called timidly.
"Get out!" David shouted.
The maid was startled. Just ten minutes ago he was all over her, caressing her and telling her how she is amazing, and now he is like a wild beast. How uncultured. She lifted her head and walked out with a goal to talk to the butler. She hopes that at least she can get some severance pay before she leaves this wretched mansion. The whole family is crazy.

Charlie led Emma to the study room and locked the door behind them.
"Are you OK?" Charlie asked with concern obvious in his voice.
Before Emma could respond, he pulled her in his embrace.
"Zula was there on time. She is reliable." Emma assured Charlie while wrapping her arms around him. "I am fine. Everything was according to the plan..."
After an unknown measure of time, Charlie released Emma from his hold, and they sat on the sofa.
"Tell me what happened. I want to know everything." Charlie demanded.
Emma started from the beginning and how she met Aileen in the restroom and Charlie listened intently.
When Emma didn't return from the restroom within a few minutes, Charlie knew that something happened. And when Aileen approached him in front of everyone and told him that Emma entered the room with a man, Charlie knew that Aileen is the one behind the plot.
Charlie was aware that Thomas and Caroline instigated him in the hallway on purpose, demanding that the person in the room (aka Emma) gets banished and that he should break the engagement. Regardless if Emma was inside or not, that family sealed their fate.
Charlie held onto that doorknob and prayed silently that Zula managed to save Emma from whatever plot Aileen made, and that the person in the room is not Emma. His heart constricted with every moan which drifted from that room because it confirmed that a man and a woman are inside. 
Charlie felt relief wash over him when he saw that David is in the bed with a maid. At the same time, his blood boiled because he realized that what David said is true: the woman in the bed was supposed to be Emma!
And there was another question, where is Emma?
David has bad intentions, but he is not the scheming type. He is a young man who prefers sleeping with women and enjoying the perks his wealth is providing him. David is not greedy for power and his ambition to lead the family is coming from Thomas, but David is easily manipulated. How can anyone think that David is a good leader, is beyond Charlie. On the other side, Charlie understands why Thomas was adamant for David to get in power. If David gets the position of the patriarch, Thomas would be able to use David's incompetence and pull the strings of the Smith family at his will. David would be a perfect puppet.
"I am sorry you had to go through that." Charlie said when Emma finished the story.
"This is fine, Charlie. Please, don't treat me like a delicate princess. I am ready to get my hands dirty, if that will secure our future together. This drama ended well and after tonight, everyone will know not to mess with you, or me."
"How are you feeling now? Do you want to rest?"
Emma refused. "I don't think I will dare to rest in this house. If I need to sleep here, I will do it with my eyes open."
"Your hands are shaky." Charlie noticed. He assumed that it's due to the stress of what Emma went through.
"Aileen gave me muscle relaxant that made me feel tired, and Anna gave me the opposite to counter those effects. I feel like I had too much coffee and I have extra energy that I need to burn. There will be no consequences. It will wear off in two-three hours on its own, but if I get some exercise, it might happen faster." Emma explained without using medical terms, so that Charlie can understand.
Charlie's face lit up. "That simple?"
Emma confirmed.
"I can help you burn some of that excess energy." Charlie said with a sly smile and kissed her on the lips.
"Do we have time for this?" Emma asked when Charlie started kissing her neck.
"I always have time for you…" Charlie murmured, and his hand made its way under her dress. "And this is medical treatment..."
Emma giggled. Medical treatment, right! She lifted her behind, so that Charlie can remove her panties. The party is ongoing, but there is no better way to but that extra energy than with Charlie.

The lady in the car stared as the two people entered the car next to her before they drove off. As soon as the car left the underground parking area, she could hear the camera's clicks and people shouting wanting to get a picture of Elliot but not long after the security guards came to clear the path for them to go through. 

Once the car was out of sight, the lady unlocked her and stepped out with a smile on her face. She felt refreshed and inspired suddenly.

"Elliot huh?" The mysterious lady walked up to the underground elevator while she called someone.

 "How can I help you Miss Sinclair?" It was Sofia. 

"Did Elliot Lewis come in for the interview today," she asked calmly. "Yes, he just finished his interview not too long ago," answered Sofia, she was a little confused as Charlotte never asked these questions because its normally written in the report she sends weekly . 

"I want to see it, I'm coming to my office now."

"I'll tell them to be ready then." 

Charlotte hung up the phone and soon reached the room where Elliot was in previously. The room that was previously filled with many people was now almost empty with only a few left inside; Sofia, a cameraman and the cleaning crew. Once Sofia saw Charlotte enter, she rushed over to her.

"Miss Sinclair everything is ready." Charlotte nodded in response and followed Sofia to the cameramen. He handed an iPad to Charlotte. 

"I've transferred all the interviews of the main cast." We didn't have a chance to edit them yet so they're all unedited," he explained. 

"That's good, I want to see the unedited footage." 

Charlotte left the room followed by Sofia. They stopped outside a door and Charlotte typed in the code on the small keyboard next to the door handle. It flashed green and opened. Once the door was closed Sofia collapsed on the soft grey couch.

 "Charlie you're so difficult to work with," Sofia complained. Running around this huge building was a lot of work. She and Charlotte have been working with eachother since the very beginning. The two close and were cormfortable enough with eachother so they didn't mind speaking casually when they were alone.

Charlotte ignored her and walked up to her desk, sitting down on her black leather chair.

 "Hey you can't ignore me." Sofia glared towards Charlotte. 

Once again Sofia was ignored which annoyed 
her even more. She walked over to Charlotte and who was busy staring at the ipads screen. 

"What are you looking at?" Sofia stood beside Charlotte's chair. On the screen was playing Elliots interview taht was filmed earlier.

•What do you think of Charlotte and why do you want to work with her?

•I really admire her. She's spreading a message to the world with her platform. Not many movies focus on spreading a message. Even though some  movies may have a moral behind. It's always the same while I think Charlotte wants to make a difference in the world by entertaining the world. She wants to show the world that we are all the same even though we may have our differences.

•Even though I have never met Charlotte, I'm very sure she is a woman with big dreams and has a compassionate heart.

Charlotte paused the video. "You know, I was so impressed," praised Sofia taking a seat in front of Charlotte. "Not many people have that sort of thinking process, they're only after fame so they would say anything to butter you up but I can tell the way he talks, he sincerely admires you." Charlotte smiled in response. 

"Although, I think his assistant is such a let down." 

"Why?" Charlotte raised her eyebrows in confusion.

Sofia laughed remembering what happened. She felt bad critising the girl and judging her without knowing her but she was only saying what she saw.  "She's such a crybaby and is so unorganized." 

Charlottek started aimlessly and waited for Sofia to explain further. "You know how 2 days ago you said you wanted us to interview the main cast. Normally, if an interview was supposed to be held we had to notify the actors and actress a week earlier so we,.along with them can prepare everything."

Charlotte nodded. "Well the original plan was that the cast was to meet you today, right?" . 

"Hmm" Charlotte hummed in response. 

"Elliots manger is currently injured and his clumsy assistant forgot to notify Elliot about the plans changing and didn't show the questions beforehand." Charlotte put down the iPad in her hand. 

"Now it makes sense."

"What makes sense?" Questioned Sofia curiously. 

"I saw them in the car park before coming up" Sofias eyes widened. "What did you see?" She wanted to know if his assistance was fired. Charlotte explained everything she saw and the way he acted. "He forgave her." Sofias gasped. "Wow that assistance is lucky if I was him, I'd fire her right away. Then again we don't know much about his assistant so its given." 

"His perfect," mumbled Charlotte under her breath. "Did you say something?" Sofia stopped her rambling and asked. Charlotte shook her.

 "Enough chit chat, lets work."

A coffee in one hand and her car keys in the other, Charlotte walked out the coffee shop and into her car. Perks of being a celebrity without showing your face. You can walk out in public without being swarmed with paparazzi.

As Charlotte was about to drive her car door was suddenly opened. "Hi-Sorry-Ma'am can you please help, " said a man out of breath, his face mask barely staying on his face. It was Elliot.

He was frantically looking at the end of the street where countless people stood with cameras ready in their hand looking for someone. Charlotte thought for a second before nodding. 

"Come in."

They were afterall, both going to be working together soon, there's no harm.

Elliot didn't wait any longer and hopped into the car. "Where should I take you?" Asked Charlotte. "Beverly Park Terrace." Charlotte nodded. She drove past the paparazzi and Elliot ducked to hide his face. 

After they were far away Elliot let out a sigh of relief. Then realisation hit him. "I-I am so sorry, I don't normally do this. Thank you for your help." He spoke politely and fiddled with his thumbs. Charlotte looked at him before focusing back on the road with a smile.

 "Are you nervous?" Elliot let out a chuckle. 

"Is it obvious?" Charlotte laughed at his innocence. 

"Who wouldn't be, you're in a strangers car." Elliot raised his hand and scratched his head. "I'm really sorry I haven't even introduced myself, I'm Elliot Lewis." He smiled. 

"I know who you are." 

"Yeah..."He mumbled. Charlotte paused at a red light and looked at Elliot with a smile. Elliot couldn't help but stare at her charming smile and felt his heart skip a beat.

 "Charlie." Elliot flinched.

"What?" He asked with a blush on his face. 

"You can call me Charlie."

"Charlie," repeated Elliot.

The next Monday, Eun Ji was feeling much better and had almost totally forgotten about the rude guy that bumped into her at the cafe. She was once again working at the diner with a much more healthy looking Mr Sun. 

There was a two days break all over Korea and the schools there would be starting exams soon so Jae Hyun didn't go to school that morning. Hence, he had to go to work with his sister. 

Eun Ji was busy throughout the day and didn't have time for social media though she noted that some people who knew her had tagged her on some posts on Facebook, and even on social media. 

Not thinking much of it, she didn't check them out so she wouldn't get distracted at work. Then it was afternoon and the sun was hotter than usual. 

They attended to more people than usual, mainly because those that would have been in school treated themselves out to dates and some girls even spent up to an hour after their order, gisting about random things. 

This reminded Eun Ji of when she was in school and she began to reminiscence about how quiet her life had been. She didn't have time to notice people so much but concentrated on her studies. It was a pity she had to also always think of her brother but Eun Ji didn't regret it for one second. After all, he was her family. 

When Jae Hyun ran up to her in his blue shirt and suspenders, he wore a dashing smile on his face. It was already three twenty PM by this time and the the sun was at its hottest outside. 

Eun Ji squinted at him in suspicion as she wondered what was up with her brother. 

The minx was definitely up to something! 

"Noona can I go to Mr Sun's office for a short while?" He gave her a dashing smile, his expression confident. 

"Why?" Eun Ji couldn't help the suspicion that laced her tone. 

"I-i miss him!" He replied firmly. 

"You saw him this morning and he even gave you a plate of his specially made salad." Eun Ji argued. 

"Does that mean you don't want me to see your boss? I'll tell him I wanted to chat but you didn't permit me. That's bad and-"

"Okay, young man." She cut off his ramblings with a giggle. "You can go but remember not to disturb him. Mr Sun is-"

"An old man who needs to rest!" Jae Hyun chuckled at his own joke earning him a pointed stare from his sister. 

"No. He's a bit ill and doesn't need anyone to disturb him. He won't be happy with you if he hears you calling him old. Okay?"

He bobbed his head. "Okay."

Eun Ji went back to her work, attending to several customers while Jerry who was now working nine till six was back at the kitchen. 

What she didn't know was that in a few minutes time after her brother left there, she would receive an email from the official Wallflower boys headquarters account. Jae Hyun had been notified about this and he didn't want to see the disappointment on his sister's face if he wasn't selected in the first round. 

The process of the Wallflower boys 2 first round of selection was a challenge. You post a video of yourself with the Wallflower boys challenge hashtag and then wait for twelve hours and the selection management would get back to you. 

Being hopeful, Jae Hyun had sneakily took his sister's phone and posted a video of them singing 'Will you still be there?' on Facebook and Instagram. The lyrics of the song was focused on the importance of family and friendships and love.  

Of course Jae Hyun had been doing a follow up about the Wallflower challenge on facebook so he knew this process. What he didn't know if he should expect was whether his sister would scream his name in confusion when whe received the mail or ignore it altogether.  

Over at the counter where Eun Ji was sitting, when notification of the mail came in, Eun Ji had almost ignored it but the address had her pausing her acts. 

Furrowing her brows, Eun Ji wondered why the Wallflower boys headquarters would send her a mail. 

Was this a spam gmail address or was someone impersonating them?! Gritting her teeth, she was ready to curse them out when she saw that the address was from the official Wallflower boys headquarters! 

"Aigoo, what is this?" She questioned rhetorically. In the past, Eun Ji always knew she usually found luck easily at all times and whatever she wanted, she could always ask her family lawyer, who was also her father's friend for whatever she needed; mainly because the man would never beat a sweat before fulfilling her wishes. 

But there are stages one will get to in life and you'll just feel like being independent. Except that person has been brought up or trained to rely on others or use scheming means to get things done, you'll get to a stage in life when you want to account for your actions and inactions. And that was what Eun Ji decided to do immediately she realized this mail had ended up in wrong hands. Ignore it and never take one single action.

Her heart was thumping wildly in her chest as she re-read the message and pondered over shy the address would have been sent to her. 

It wasn't even in her spam and it read thus:

[Dear Applicant 1075, your entry into the Wallflower boys challenge has been reviewed and was moved to the next stage. Congratulations, you can now proceed by formally filling the form below. Also, attached to this mail, is your entry video and we hope this is just the beginning of such rare talent! Cheers, Wallflower boys headquarters!]
