Hey everyone, thank you for your interest in my book, this is my first time writing a story. This is my original work and the setting is urban American. My characters are African American, Carribean, and Hispanic descent, so this book may have a different flavor from the more traditional stories on here. Also feel free to comment if there are any slang terms or phrases you don't understand.

Hazel didn't really think Billy would show up a second night in a row after she failed to appear. But the stupid, tiny spark of hope that had ignited when she met him refused to let her stay in bed when she woke up from her nightmare after being sent back to her own room the next day. 
A lone figure leaned against a tree near the door leading to the girls' wing and her heart leapt to her throat. He came. She ditched him and he came anyway. 
She rushed forward in excitement before stopping herself. She didn't know why he was here. It might be to chew her out for being inconsiderate. 
There was a cold light in his eyes as he stared straight ahead, unblinking. He couldn't see Hazel since she was coming at him from the side. She nearly shivered. In that moment, she could almost believe he truly was dangerous. 
But when Billy heard her footsteps and turned to face her, the coldness was gone and a friendly expression crossed his face. 
"I thought you'd come. Heard you were in isolation last night; that's rough. Did you bite a nurse?"
Hazel shook her head, surprised that he knew. Had one of the nurses been gossiping about her near his room or something? 
"I didn't hear you scream last night," Billy explained, noticing her confusion. "I've been here for nearly three years now and have heard you scream every night but a few random ones every few months. Going off of that pattern, isolation was the only thing that made sense." 
The padded walls helped muffle noise. Nobody could hear you in isolation unless they were right outside the door. It was why there was always a guard within sight of the little window. 
Hazel looked down, embarrassed. No wonder nobody liked her. They had to listen to her screams every night and lose sleep over it. 
Billy reached out and patted her shoulder. "Nothing to be embarrassed about."
Tears pooled in her eyes. When was the last time another human being touched her without trying to restrain her? She crumbled at the tiny show of comfort. 
"Aww, Hazel, don't cry! There's no reason for that. The moon is full tonight so there's plenty of light for us to read and write in. There are all sorts of new words I can teach you."
She hastily wiped them away, firm in her resolve. She would learn how to express herself properly if it was the last thing she ever did. 
They spent about an hour working on some more sight words but after that Billy had the idea of teaching her how to write phrases that could help her. Things like "I'm hungry," "I'm thirsty," and "I need to use the bathroom."
They worked through about twenty phrases like that, which took up most of their remaining time. Billy was teaching her how to write "my name is Hazel" as the sun began rising behind the mountains in the distance. 
"There, that should help you a bit," he said in a satisfied voice. 
Hazel wrote 'thank you', one of the phrases he had taught her, in the sand. 
"You're welcome! Should we meet up again tomorrow night?"
She was a bit curious why she hadn't seen him at yard time today—she had specifically looked for him—but she didn't have the words to ask. Instead, she nodded happily. If they kept this up, she would be able to ask him anything she wanted sooner or later. 
Hazel made her way through the rest of the day sleepily but when free time rolled around she grabbed a pad of paper and a hot pink crayon to practice writing. Learning from her mistakes, she decided to sneak the materials back to her room and away from Cindy. 
That nosy girl would definitely want to know what she was doing writing inane phrases over and over. It was none of her business!
She practiced diligently for about forty-five minutes before she got to writing "my name is Hazel." She frowned. How was Billy's name spelled? Obviously it started with a B…and since it ended with the same sound as "hungry" and "thirsty" it probably ended with a Y.
Hazel sounded it out in her head. B, I, L, Y. She wanted to write him a note but her spelling would probably be horrible. 
Taking out a new piece of paper, she tried to put the simplest thought she had down. She wanted to tell him how much she appreciated his kindness. But did she know enough words? 
An idea struck her before she even wrote down a single word. Why not give him the picture she had drawn during art time today? She could write the note on the back. 
After all, her mom always liked being given her artwork. Today she had drawn a picture of a kitten and a puppy in a field of flowers with a few clouds in a light blue sky. It had made her a little bit happy so maybe it would make him a little bit happy too. 
Hazel flipped over the drawing and painstakingly wrote out 'Bily, thank you for be good to me.' She wanted to say 'love Hazel' but didn't know how to write love so she drew a heart in front of her name instead. 
It wasn't as concise as she would have liked but she didn't know how to spell "being" or "nice." He hadn't taught her any words ending in –ing yet. 
Hazel hugged the drawing to her chest. She hoped he understood what she meant. 
When a nurse came looking for her because it was time for dinner, she hastily stuffed the drawing, papers, and crayon under her pillow. She could definitely use them again later to keep practicing when no one was looking. 
Sitting through dinner and visiting hours was so difficult knowing she was so close yet so far from seeing Billy and giving him her thank you gift. Why couldn't it be 3 AM already? Hazel still had to get through the rest of the day and another terrible nightmare before she could see him again.

“I’ll marry anyone who will take me!” Hazel declared loudly. “I don’t need love!”

“Get down!” Will hissed. “You don’t know what kind of people are lurking around in here! Talking like that might get you killed!”

Hazel Dixon thought she was putting her troubled past behind her. But when the person she thought she trusted most betrays her, she loses her head and proposes to an entire bar full of strangers.

Words are meant for a purpose of expressing some stuffs especially emotions not to impress snd attract some attentions.
      Communication is the exchange of ideas and can be able to create feedbacks with each other. Simplicity is beauty. Thus, commonication beauty can express through the simplicity of phrases and words used to create a nice feedback of your communicants, not a silence means I didn't understand reaction I may sight an example; in news broadcast: imagine news in a manner of using blood-popping , very complicated words; do you think the viewers will immediately catch up and get exactly what certain news all about? Maybe, by consulting Dr. Webster.
      Another example, a speech is being recited in a fact that it's so impressive in a sense the topic but it was redudantly saying a single idea. Hello, there is no barrier of communication is occurring to apply the principle of redudancy. The barrier is the word itself. Centain though might make the listener dizzy of the cycle of your very INTERESTING topic and vomit all the things he consumed from your piece.
      Also in writing, it may occur. Sometimes, there are a lot who is so fond of using superflous sclerous and noxious stated words only to impress their readers to let them know that they're intelligent, but actually it's the wide vocabulary that is being used not your style of writing. It's nice to be a vocabularitic person but it's not nice to make every readers of your article suffer from anaemic.
      Imagine how deay the wordd and phrases is? It can make a person bleed (literally). It can also take us to a roller-coaster ( not literally ), that's how powerful words are. i mean, those nice sounded words can alter the meaning of expressionism.

Hello everyone.
For some time now I have wanted to start writing this story, but due to lack of time and ideas I have had to postpone it.
Now I'm starting it, but I will not publish every day, I can not because of lack of time and I may get tangled up with some others ideas, which can cause me to waste some time.

Currently I'm starting college so my time will be increasingly limited.
But even so I will continue writing as much as I can. I know that many prefer a continuous publication, but in my case it will not be possible. But maybe in the future.
I will try to make the chapters as entertaining as possible to compensate the low speed of publication. I hope you guys enjoy them.


I may sometimes make mistakes when writing certain words or phrases, so I will need some time to review and correct. But I think it's normal.

I am also open to whatever idea you guys have.

Year 2492. After several centuries of scientific and technological advances, humanity faces another war. But this time against a hostile alien civilization, which sees the progress of humans as a threat.

Genu Hoffman, a bionic soldier belonging to the fast-response special groups of the human federation, together with Iris, a multi-function autonomous android, is assigned the mission of going to Kirib 324451, a planet similar to earth that humans have  colonizing and directing an assault unit to repel an alien threat.

For this, it is decided to use a system of dimensional teleportation, but something ends up going wrong. Genu and Iris deviate from the dimensional trajectory and then appear in a completely different world. A world of magic and supernatural creatures.

They ended in a magical world in which they will be on their own judgment.

Twenty-ninth day, Twelfth Moon, 240 AC
"And so, laid to rest, The Dance of Dragons…"
As the song died down, the listeners in the hall began to clap. I nodded to my group, and we all took a step forward and took a bow. It was a fair enough reception to the song, not the best we had ever received on the road, but certainly not the worst. The hall still looked ready for more, but we waited until the signal from Lord Stout before we started up again.
At his nod, Jeyne, my wife, turned to me and whispered, "Royce, do you want to do those new songs of yours?"
I took a moment to look around before I responded to her. I eyed the room, taking note of the rowdiness of the hall, how drunk everyone was, the temperament of Lord Stout; all the things an experienced bard knows to look for in a crowd. How good a singer you are or how good a song is, does not matter if the audience is not ready to receive it.
But the crowd looked to be in the mood for something new, something to stir their hearts. I nodded to Jeyne, and said, "Yes, let's start with Direwolf and see what happens."
I started to play softly to set the mood. After much practice, we had decided that Jeyne would be better off singing this song. It suited a female voice, soft and light as the wind.
"Our hero, our hero
Claims a warrior's heart
I tell you, I tell you
The Direwolf comes"
As we played the song, I watched the reactions of our audience to weigh their thoughts on the new song. Once the repeated lines came back, some of the crowd began to repeat it. As the song continued, the crowd got more into it. Lord Stout looked intrigued by the song, he wasn't following along, but I didn't really expect it from the man.
He was a bit of a stick in the mud, so when he put out word for bards for a feast, I was a bit surprised. It was common knowledge amongst my brethren that Lord Stout was not musically inclined, or even big on entertaining. His vassals were poor and few in number, but the pay for this feast was actually quite modest. Jeyne and I were lucky that we had been in Torrhen's Square when word came out about this job, and we quickly made our way here.
As the song wound down, the men along the tables clapped and cheered their appreciation. It was a much better reception than the Dance of Dragons song, though not on the level of The Bear and the Maiden Fair.
I gave an enquiring glance to Lord Stout, indicating if he wanted our last song to be a more traditional song or a newer one like the one he just heard. He indicated for a new song, he seemed to enjoy the change.
Interesting. Perhaps I read Lord Stout wrong? Maybe, it was just traditional entertainment that the man disliked?
With a nod to Jeyne we started to play another song. "I'm running with the wolves tonight"
The applause was a bit more cautious, but Lord Stout seemed to enjoy it more than any other song that they had played.
It was a song that was a bit more complex than traditional songs, and it seemed a bit lost on some of the men in the hall, though I could still spot that they liked to sound of it. Something to think on I suppose.
Jeyne and I stepped forward and gave a bow during their applause. We passed a group of mummers as we made our way out of the hall and gave them all a nod in recognition of our similar jobs. The head servant of the castle gave us our pay as we left, and we headed back to tent in the nearby field.

Jeyne and I sat hunched over our little folding table in our tent the next morning, after the performance, and we were discussing this new style of song.
"I still think it won't be popular," she said.
I rebutted, "I think there is two distinct styles we can explore, dear. The first, would be something like The Direwolf Comes. Something that stirs at the heart; it's easy to understand and it's easy for the crowd to repeat it and participate. It's more in line with traditional, but with the repeating phrases they crowd can sing along. The other, songs like Running with the Wolves, use more complex terms and hidden meanings. It has more of a 'it means what you want it to' feeling, something vague yet specific. It speaks to the heart, but someone might not quite understand why at the first listen. Lord Stout seemed intrigued by the second song, much more so than the first, and both were more favorably received than the traditional songs."
Jeyne appeared in thought. "I guess. But his reaction may have just been from a new song, not from his opinion on the style of it."
I rubbed my chin in thought. "Perhaps, he doesn't seem like the musically-inclined type. I just wish that the man at Deepwood Motte would have taken more time to talk to me about his songs."
She nodded. "Aye, it would've been nice. Put any more thought into making a new song?"
"A bit. I was thinking maybe start off easy, with something that speaks to my heart. A love song perhaps?"
"Love is easy?" She asked in a teasing voice.
I gave her a cocky smile. "Of course, love. I got you after all." She rolled her eyes but held her tongue. "I was thinking of tying it to our love of traveling along the open road, with naught but clouds to accompany us."
She nodded as she pictured it in her head. "Aye, that could work. I think we would need a catchy repeating phrase to capture the crowd though-"
A knock on the tent peg from outside interrupted her.
I exited the tent to see who was there and saw a demure well-dressed servant.
"What can I do for you?" I asked.
"Are you the bard that goes by the name of Royce?" At my nod, he continued. "Good. Lord Stout wishes to talk to you about performing again at tonight's smaller feast."
That was a surprise: most of Lord Stout's vassals had left this morning. "Aye, that sounds good. Let me grab my partner."
I poked my head back into the tent and got Jeyne's attention. I gave her a silent look to ask if she was interested, she just nodded. We both knew that any coin we could get before we left here would be needed.
As we both followed the servant back to the castle, I gave Jeyne a winning smile. This new musical style was quite the unexpected gift.

Warning: Some not so happy latter half that comes out of left field because I'm saying my thoughts.

A great man once said: "When I cut my finger, is a tragedy... When you fall into a sewer and die, is a comedy." In this trail of thought, one might decide to be a sadist to their character and play it for laughs.

Not saying that angle won't work or anything. After all, Charlie Chaplin didn't get famous for no reason.

What I'm trying to say is that comedy is derived from the absurd. Things that don't normally happen is happening and no common sense is needed for the fictional characters involved since people being dumb is funny in its own right. I mean, go ask Disney for advice on writing overly dumb characters who couldn't possibly exist in real life at all.

This doesn't mean that a pure comedy needs to be all laughs though. It is becoming strangely more common to weave plot threads together in order to make even more absurd scenarios for the characters involved. I remember watching an Anime called 'Gamers!' about a group of teenagers gradually falling into the rabbit hole of misunderstandings since they wouldn't outright ask each other anything.

It was to the point that Otaku online dubbed it with the meme-like name of 'Misunderstandings: The Anime' in the face of how complicated the story was becoming because of what was happening on screen.

Just me writing the word 'absurd' twice should be enough for those reading this to understand that making it 'out there' is what's comical. Even 'Kaguya Sama- Love Is War' derived its comedy from the absurd humour that is what WOULD happen when two geniuses won't give up in trying to win over the other in their battle of over-the-top scheming.

Reactions that are so over-the-top they are comical in itself are also common to comedies. Even in those fictions that try to balance their comedy with heavier moments that were built to be tear jerkers.

However, to actually be able to overcome the hurdle of making the sadder moments impact instead of making the reader laugh, what is most needed is the inclusion of something 'mundane' in a character's life which can be subverted. There is a reason The Simpson's and other comedy tv shows go back to the status quo after a joke has ended, it is because seeing something mundane turn hilarious is subversive.

And what is comedy if not a subversion of what we are expecting? The reason everything used to laugh in high school when someone fell after another guy pulled his chair before he sat is because something even as mundane as 'sitting' didn't follow the tradition, turning into something they didn't expect.

A long comedy story needs this sense of returning to the status quo even if it has changed a little after the previous punchline. You can't always throw in punchlines without proper build up to it.

There needs to be at least some time for the characters to take in an exciting incident before the next one comes, and that is especially true when it comes to punchlines. It's just how comedy works.

Now you may be thinking of writing a character who has some funny joke that consistently happens in the story. Maybe your character keeps on falling asleep in climactic moments or maybe your comic relief has a catchy catchphrase that he always NEEDS to say.

In the case of the latter: Don't... Just don't...

As for the former, new scenarios for the same joke can lead into an even bigger joke. Bonus points if whatever the character's main joke is actually coincides with some sort of characterisation.

You can have a guy who gets angry all the time have to ACTUALLY go to anger management courses or maybe the guy who falls asleep just doesn't get any most the time due to insomnia. I know something so 'real' shouldn't be funny, but remember my earlier advice, something 'mundane' can ground the story.

To have a higher purpose than just the comedy happening itself, this sense of realism is required and can't be forgotten if you want to make stories that can have a higher impact on the audience.

Generally, you can go berserk with this kind of story since any joke is acceptable as long as they don't are not moral ambiguous and don't go at the expense of a certain group of your audience. I mean, 9/11 jokes may seem funny but we've already got to the point that the terrorism itself is not to be joked about.

On a side note: Why is it that Kyoto Animation burning down is a tragedy but people falling off buildings in 9/11 is funny? I remember a guy even adding cartoon sound to a video of people falling...

Sorry, back to the topic at hand. Your sense of humour is your own, but be sure to be sensitive to the people around you and not be a sadistic bully who takes pleasure in the suffering of others.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

"Urg…. I don't wanna wake up…" Reili muttered to himself as the blinding rays of light stabbed his eyes. 

Annoyed, he mustered up some strength and used his legs to close the blinds since he couldn't be bothered.  Yet even though he wanted to sleep, he knew he couldn't anymore. Pushing himself up, he dressed in the simple outfit he wore everyday. A t-shirt and jeans. Putting on his glasses, he brushed his teeth before knocking on his mother's room. 

"Morning~" He called out as he only left after hearing a response. 

Walking to his left, it was his little brother's room.  Taking a deep breath in, Reili closed his eyes. 

"Wake up yer little shit!" He called out opening the door. 

His little brother's room was a messy as always. Toys, games and remotes were laying around while the person in question was sleeping with his ass up in the air. A twitch formed on Reili's face as he kicked his little bro's ass.

"AH WHAT THE HELL!" His brother cried out in alarm. 

"Wake up yer little shit. You got school in a bit." Reili said gesturing with his thumb. 

"Urg fine… Let me get changed." His brother replied. 

"Ma! Jie jie's up!" Reili called out. Jie Jie was the nickname his family gave to his brother. It was similar to the Chinese words for sister (Jie Jie) but had a sharper pronunciation. Is was catchy as it stayed along with him for 10 years. From birth till now. 

Walking downstairs, Reili looked at what he should make.  'Eggs, rice, bacon and some cheese.' He thought to himself.  "F*ck it I can't be arsed this morning."

Grabbing some toast, Reili threw it in the toaster and started to fry an egg. Quickly whipping up some breakfast for his little bro, he warmed up a glass on milk before setting everything down on the table. Seeing Jie Jie still not coming down stairs, Reili walked up to see him watching anime while brushing his teeth. 

"How the hell did you brush your teeth for 10 god damn minutes?! Get cho ass down stairs!" Reili called out loudly.  

Jie JIe only nodded in his half awake state. Shaking his head lightly, Reili went back down stairs. 
Turning on the TV, he looked for any interesting videos. 

'Gaming, gaming, Chinese drama… Urg. Another one of those nosy love reality TV's mum likes to watch so much. Seriously, what is it with her and those shows.' He thought going pass the videos. 

"Jie Jie! What do you wanna watch?" Reili asked. 

"Anything." Jie Jie replied sitting down. 

Reili shrugged as he decided to watch some anime. 

"Pick an anime, any anime." 

"Got any new ones?" Jie Jie asked. 

"Er hmm, there is a new one coming soon but I guess we'll just rewatch some epic moments or some shit. One Punch Man sound good?" Reili asked.

"Yeah. I like Garou so far. He's really cool." 

"Same bro." Reili smiled at the fact that their taste in anime was pretty similar. Whilst he was eating, Jie Jie kept asking questions as this was the part Reili hated the most. 

"Just get your ass to school. I'll deal with this shit later in the day." Reili said waving his hands. Jie Jie shrugged as he picked up his bag. 

"Hey bro, do you wanna read your book together?" He asked in pure curiosity. Hearing the question, Reili choked on his saliva slightly. 

"Next time." Reili dismissed. 

"Aww…" 

Seeing that sad expression, Reili couldn't help but feel bad. 'I'm sorry my book isn't so PG bro. Maybe next time.' He thought. 

Before Jie Jie left the house, he ran back in and gave Reili a hug, surprising him. Even though he did this everyday, it still made him smile. 

"Enjoy school." 

"Enjoy writing." 

Smiling at each other, Reili grinned and ruffled Jie Jie's hair. Seeing his brother leave for school, Reili sighed and walked back to his room and sat on his laptop. As unhealthy as it was, he never had breakfast. His body rejected it almost, he was never hungry in the morning. 

"Imma be productive." He chanted to himself. 

Playing any random music he found, he started to write for 3 minutes before turning to the web novel discord chat. 

"Ok wtf." Reili muttered. The first thing he saw was the 'Godly Author's ' adopting everyone and making up a family tree. Chuckling to himself, Reili decided to join the fun. 

[Reili: Wassup, I just woke up and yall be talking about family trees again?] 
[Zehell: Oh hey Rei]
[Reili: Sup]
[Ricku: Heya Rei]
[Reili: So wat's this about the family tree?]
[Zehell: we just adopted more people in it. Alison mom has four more children now.]
[Reili: PFFF wtf. Why did alice momma adopt more children? This son is feeling left out.]  

Reili grinned as a little role play in the chat was always fun. 

[Murakami: Kek]
[Reili: Hey mura be lurking out of nowhere.] 
[Mura: Kek]
"Oh for fucks sake." Reili smiled wearily. 
[Reili: I'm going to be productive today! I'll talk to yall innabit when I finish writing my chap.]
[Ika: Pff productive he says.]
[Reili: Koala…. I see you there…. SMACK!!!]
[Zehell: Reili no! Don't smack the koala!]
[Reili: Kek]

Chuckling to himself, he decided to start writing. But it didn't take long for him to get side tracked once more.

[Reili: Holy shit, is that vc having life?]
[Zehell: Join us!!!]
[Reili: haha sure gimme a sec.] 

Grabbing his mic, Reili joined the voice chat as he didn't really mind talking. His voice wasn't anything special to begin with. The voice chat was as usual. Only one or two talked while the legal loli's would occasional talk. The legal loli's being the female writers that have higher pitched voices. 

"Oh shit! 11am! I need to post chaps!" Reili spoke into the mic. 

[Murakami: Kek, lazy.] 

"Bitch pls, I aint lazy, just the discord distract me too much." 

Thankfully, Reili managed to finish the chapter yesterday so he could post without problems. Going back to the voice chat, they had strange points in time with people singing (Reili included), people narrating (Naran -god of narration) and just absolute bs with the occasional godly authors joining in. 

[AuthorWiz: Hey guys]
"Holy shit! Is that author wiz?!"
[Zehell: Hahahaha Reili fanboying over wiz.]
[Alison: Such a fan boy]

"Aww come on, I'm just surprised. Surely I'm not fanboying right?"

[Murakami: Yeah right.]
"Oh fuck off mura hahahaha."

Asking a few questions about writing, Reili smiled to himself until he realized it was 3pm. "Holy shit! I need to cook for myself! See you guys later." He called out into the mic and made himself something quick to eat. 

Looking at his laptop, he narrowed his eyes and started to type away without even looking at the discord chat. 

"I'm home!" Jie jie called out walking in. 
"Hey bro, you're still writing?" He asked. 
"Just… don't ask jie jie… don't ask." Reili replied typing away. 

Jie jie just shrugged as Reili had already got him meal on the side for him. Reili wanted to keep writing but saw that he had a ping. 

[Reili: Wassup, I just got a ping.]

It was not a surprise for Hao Ren to find Letta runes in the strangest of places. The ancient and mysterious written language was bound to exist where otherworldlings had existed. If not for their rare appearance from years of supression by the demon hunters and the church, perhaps these magical runes would have become part of the human civilisation, or even altered the course of human history. Nonetheless, the runes were buried in the sand dunes of history and maybe, this was a good thing for the human civilisation.
After all, the runes were not particularly suitable for humans. Hao Ren got the hunch that anything to do with The Plane of Dreams was not particularly safe.
Rows of Letta runes were discovered on the wall, just in the corner at the end of the gallery. The runes almost covered an entire three-by-two-metre slate. Vivian got closer and started deciphering the runes. Meanwhile, Hao Ren allowed the MDT to sync with his vision and had the runes on the wall recorded.
Letta runes were hieroglyphs of a previous civilisation. It was widely used in the area where the Kingdom of Holleta was presently situated. But this was not the only language the ancient era of The Plane of Dreams used. According to investigations as well as recounts by Vivian, a few other languages had existed at the same time and they were spoken by a few major groups of unusual creatures. These users had to have existed in some other kingdoms within The Plane of Dreams. However, Letta runes were the only written language that possessed special power. So, Hao Ren thought that these runes had specific usages like in prayers, magics and other rituals; runes were not found to exist in other places.
The runes on the wall had caught his interest.
"The grammar is weird. It doesn't look like a spell. It's probably a record," Vivian slid her hand across the surface of the runes, mumbling to herself. Though there was a weathering process in the other dimension, it was far slower than that in the Surface World. Most things in the temple, including the runes, were still perfectly intact. "The architectural practice at that time was fond of inscribing the deeds of the house owner and an introduction to the house on a slate. The slate would then be imbeded into the house. But this is the first Letta rune record of its kind that I've ever seen. This must be an important place... Wait a second, I've found the starting point and the phrase rhythm."
Letta runes were very different from normal languages in that its writing and reading method were very strange. The first sentence was not always the starting, it was somewhere else. Sentences were made up of many phrases, in which readers used to determine the starting point with their rhythms. This reading method was cumbersome and it was rarely used for other purposes other than in various rituals. Vivian pointed to a paragraph as she slowly deciphered it, "...The ancient thing, the origin of the thing, kept in the deepest place of the long gallery. Under the protection of the obsidian hunting dog, no outsiders shall trespass thereinto... the Scholars' Hall shall remain closed and always linked to the long gallery, dossiers.... the responsibility of deciphering this writing shall be on Athena in finding the origin, or restoring order, or suppressing every unclean..."
As Vivian read, she stumbled upon some nonsense-sounding phrases. She skipped the last part of the writing and found some descriptions about the functions of the temple. "Storage, research centre, dossier archives, and... umm, prison?"
"What the hell is this place?" Lily used her claws to scratch the wall. "Did those ancient people really know how to write and speak properly?"
"It most likely means that something is being stored here." Hao Ren dragged Lily away by her ear to stop her vandalism. "And it seems that the goddess of wisdom, Athena was assigned to study that particular thing..."
"It also mentions 'origin' and 'ancient'," Vivian rubbed her chin as she mumbled to herself. "Something that was considered 'the origin' and 'ancient' even by the old fellows must have been very important. Landlord, what are your thoughts?"
Hao Ren twitched his mouth slightly and said, "I think we've come to the right place. It must have something to do with the home of the otherworldlings. But one thing I don't understand; have otherworldlings no memory of the other side? Why were Zeus and his family trying to find their origin? They must have found out that they weren't originally from Earth before they even thought of searching for their roots."
"I'm not sure what exactly happened back then. But towards the end of the Mythological Era, right before Mount Olympus was plunged into choas, the 'gods of the moutain' were all behaving really strangely." Vivian frowned as she tried to recall every memory of the past. "I remember Zeus being very anxious and Athena barely showing her face. But one month before non-believers under the leadership of the demon hunters launched an attack on Mount Olympus, in a baffling fashion, Zeus and his family held an overnight party. Their actions gave the impression that they had all given up resistence. I also remember that when I visited Hera, she wasn't in her right state of mind; she even told me to go into hibernation because 'the world is going to be in choas and everything is destined'."
"And?" asked Hao Ren curiously.
"And then they were all murdered." Vivian spread out her hand. "The demon hunters were ruthless. Even the poor dog wasn't spared, it was like they dug Cerberus out from its crypt and cooked it. When I arrived at the scene, all I saw were bones."
Lily was digging at the gap on the wall, probably trying to figure out how the stones of the temple were staggered up. When she heard what Vivian said, her tail puffed up as if she had just heard some horrible ghost story.
Hao Ren was at a lost for words.
Hessiana heard them muttering to themselves about these strange things. "What the heck are you guys talking about? I don't understand a thing."
Vivian waved her hand and walked away. "It's none of your business. Just some old stories. Tell you next time."
Zeon did not bother at all. He was a typical vampire, he only cared about the temple and its power. "How strong were these Olympian Gods? Did their power come from the thing they were studying?"
"They were a branch of the Thunder Colossi, a medium-sized Thunder Colossus. It was a small species the size of a human. They had strong magical powers and a natural affinity," said Vivian as she shot a glance at Zeon. "Are you still interested with the power here? Like I said, it's probably not a good thing."
Zeon was straightfaced. "Thanks for the advice, but I know what I'm doing. You shouldn't meddle in the business of others even though you're an elder. We will deal with whatever comes to us, by ourselves."
Vivian scoffed at him. "Heck, for power's sake? You haven't learned, have you? Yes, it's none of my business anyway, but I'm just giving you a reminder."
"Lady Vivian, Lady Vivian!" Hessiana came up to her. "Can I also study it a little?"
"No!" Vivian stared at her. "I can't control him"—pointing at Zeon—"but you, I can."
Hessiana then withdrew to the rear of the team and sank into a stupor.
"According to the runes, there is a storage chamber and a study chamber. These chambers are connected to the long gallery." Hao Ren finished scanning the entire temple and found that the temple had some sort of flowing energy. There were more than one energy hotspot scattered throughout the temple, hidden inside the staggered stone walls. He needed to find an entrance. "Where's the gallery?"
"Right ahead." Zeon pointed to a faint light at the end of the corridor.
They hustled through the deep and long corridor, coming to the end of it. As they arrived, an entirely bright, different world opened up in front of them.
It was a big gallery, rectangular, with rows of white colums on each side. The wall between the columns had ancient reliefs depicting various battle scenes and parades. No columns were present in other places and the centre of the gallery was completely empty, making the place look even bigger.
The space was filled with a soft tone of bright light, which came from nowhere.
Hao Ren was not interested in the stone columns or the reliefs on the wall, his eyes were affixed on a giant sculpture at the end of the gallery.
The sulpture was of white stone, exquisitely luxurious and lifelike.
It was a sculpture of Vivian.

Shocked, Mu Yaoyao's hand jolted and the sharp blade nicked her fingertip.
But she couldn't care less about that. Glaring at Zhao Liang, she bellowed, "What did you say?!"
"Huh?" Frightened by Mu Yaoyao's bellow, Zhao Liang looked at his master in bewilderment.
"What did you say? Say it again! Is Feng Wu on that list?!" Mu Yaoyao approached Zhao Liang with the dagger in her hand.
Zhao Liang was terrified.
He had no idea what he had done wrong. He was only telling the truth. "Y- Yes… Miss Feng Wu's name really is on that list… and it's the first name in the top row. Her name is bigger than anyone else's, with thicker strokes… Everyone has seen it…"
Pfft —
Mu Yaoyao almost had a stroke!
Everyone else stared at Feng Wu in disbelief!

He was only telling the truth. Why was the princess acting like a crazy person?
How could Mu Yaoyao not be? She had just made a very heavy bet!
"Hahahaha! No way! I don't believe it! Feng Wu can't be first! She just can't! I won't believe it even if you kill me!" Mu Yaoyao guffawed.

So was everyone else!

And she was still holding that dagger.
The blade was very sharp and it could cut through anything.
With the dagger in Mu Yaoyao's hand as she howled like a mad person, no one wanted to stand in her way.
Hence, she managed to make her way through the crowd rather smoothly.
As Mu Yaoyao rushed off to see the list, many began to study Feng Wu. The looks they gave her were a mix of suspicion, uneasiness, and bewilderment.

One of the phrases in the bhagavath githa says "I am parabrahmam(God)" and I can't accept a mortal as God, though I love him the most on this universe. Because truth is truth and nothing else and can't be presented in any other way.


The search for God is purely tough for everyone and I feel I can see Krishna as a messenger of God and nothing more than that. I don't know sometimes certain things just doesn't sync with things properly even if we try our level best.


We say "we can" but it doesn't sync. Truth is always horrible and painful and sometimes takes us by storm. It is that reality which is the ultimate one and the true face of God.


I feel that in a story I can write anything but when my subject itself is God, there I am left with no option but to choose God only. I am sorry but I can't go with the fakeness and for that I once again deeply apologize for my action but the only happiness for me is that the "truth alone triumphs".
