Sometimes being famous, isn’t everything...

My name is Jay Black or perhaps John Black, 

and this my story.

"Adira doesn't need to date and who are you to decide Adi's boyfriend?" Killian asks. 

"But Ren is single and lives next door" Kaelynn joins in despite Kaena telling her not to.

I look at Ren to see how he feels about all this and just as I thought- 

Blushing!!!!

Why is he blushing??!

I nudge Killian beside me. "What's up with him?" I ask. 

Killian looks over at the blushing Ren. "Who knows? Read his mind" Killian suggests. 

"I respect privacy" I retort. 

"You respect privacy? Huh? That's new" Killian says not believing. 

"Okay. I promised Oreo that I won't read anyone's mind unless I have to" I admit under Killian suspicious gaze. 

"That's more like it" Killian says before changing the topic to the assassin leader board. Killian pulls out his phone and connects it to the TV. 

"6th place is someone called Dreamy" I point at the white masked person on the TV. "Everyone knows that Dreamy is always in white clothes and has covered it's face. Weapon: whip with hidden blades. Ability: light element so the person is an Angel. Gender: unknown. Family: unknown. Height: unknown" I sum up. 

"How do people know what she wears and he weapon?" Ren asks. 

I stop myself from facepalming at the second part of his question. "Torn pieces of her clothes has been found at the scene. The victim's who fall under Dreamy has all had rope marks around their necks and arms but upon closer look they found small blade wounds" I answer. 

"Okay" Ren nods in understanding. 

"Okay. 5th place is a male named Timberwolf" The picture changes to a blue male at 6'1 feet tall. "Is always wearing something blue and also has covered his face. Weapon: has recently changed to a metal boomerang. Ability: can shapeshift into a wolf so is clearly a wolf. Gender: male. Family: unknown. Height: 6'1 feet" I say. "Unlike Dreamy he shows up for meetings and selections." 

"Okay" 

The picture changes to show a woman in green. "4th place is Flaura. Wears green and covers her face. Weapon: mace. Abilty: Wood witch which can control both earth and animals. Gender: female. Family: unknown. Height: 5'9 feet. Like Timberwolf shows up for meetings and selections." 

"So there is currently a male and female and an unknown?" Ren asks. 

"Yes" Killian snaps. 

"3rd place is Kendro. Wears black and also covers it's face. Weapon: Flail. Ability: is a Demon so has shadow, hell fire and portals. Gender unknown. Family: unknown. Height: unknown. Like Dreamy is only known from what's at the scene." 

"Oh how I love him" Killian sits back on the couch looking relaxed.

I scoff before continuing explaining. "2nd is Long. Wears red and covers his face. Weapon: sword. Ability: shield and elements. Gender: male although some claim that he's female. Family: unknown. Height: 5'11. Appears quite often for higher ups meetings." The image changes to a completely black shadow with a 1 over it's head. "And in 1st place is Dark Phoenix. What it wears is unknown. Weapon: are mainly daggers. Ability: unknown. Gender: unknown. Family: unknown. Height: unknown. No one has a faintest idea who or what this person is but since 7 and a half years ago has been ranking 1st." I explain with a bit of proudness in my voice. 

"So 3 hide in the dark while 3 are in the light?" Ren asks. 

"Yup" Killian responds. 

"Do you think it's by choice or are they forced?" Ren asks curiously.

"Choice" Killian and I answer confidently in unison. 

"How are you so confident that it's by choice?" Ren asks. 

A mysterious smile blooms acroos Killian and my faces. "Because we choose to be in the dark" we answer in the same teasing and yet mysterious voice. 

"Huh?" Ren doesn't get it. 

"3rd place Kendro" Killian raises his nose proudly. 

"1st place Dark Phoenix" I imitate Killian's pose. 

"So when you said that you're top assassin you weren't kidding?" 

"I was telling the truth" 

"Wow so I have an Ultimate master teaching me" Ren says in amazement. 

"What about me"? Killian asks. 

"You're 3rd not 1st" I snap at him. 

"But still he should be grateful that the KENDROS is sitting in front of him. Eldest son of Hell's highest ranked knight." Killian whines not sounding like a noble at all. 

"You should remember he's still considered a child to us" I point out. 

"You're right" Killian agrees. 

"What do you mean child?" Ren asks temper flaring. 

"Well when you're next to anyone in this house you're considered a child" I answer truthfully. 

"Shouldn't you place me above the children?" 

"No the children has powers and which you don't so even the baby twins are placed above you" Killian explains. 

"But I'm older" Ren whines. 

"Have you seen the house caught fire?" I ask him.

"No" 

"That's because at the early age of 1 a set of twins have managed to control their magic" 

"Now that you've said that I have to agree that they're placed above me" Ren says in disappointment. 

"Don't worry. Although you can't be stronger than Demon children you're above average in normal human" Killian pats his shoulder. 

"Really?" Ren asks with new hope in his eyes. 

"Unfortunately" I mumble. My eyes widen when I see the time. "Look at the time. Bye Ren see you tomorrow at school. Goodnight Killian" I walk to my room and pull out a sketch book and coloured pens. "I can just feel it happening" I whisper under my breath. I see Asra and Thunder looking at me. "Goodnight" I climb up to my loft and place the sketch book and pens beside my pillows. I lie on my back and soon fall into a deep sleep.

Dream,

I stand looking at the huge grass fields surrounded by the thick forest. A gunshot rings out and I hear footsteps in the forest behind me running in our direction. I turn and grab the hand of a black smoke in the shape of a person but I can't figure out who it is. I start to pull it across the grass field away from the footsteps behind us. 

I look behind to spot a group of black shadows but suddenly one morphs to Daniel. My eyes widen in horror when I see a brown wolf and many people with guns come out of the woods. I turn to face forward and race to the other side but the other side never comes. 

Screams echo in my ears before they start to ring blocking everything out. I'm thrown backwards. I touch my ears and pull my hand back to find-

Blood!!

There's blood coming out from my ears. I feel something wet and warm run down my cheeks and chin. I touch the liquid to see that it's also blood. I have a sick feeling in my gut. I look around to see blood everywhere. A few feet away from me is a black arm of which has torn from it's body. I swivel my head to see Daniel laying on the ground clutching his stomach from the impact but nothing else is hurt. I then check some people before looking at the forest.

My heart sinks. 

The wolf and the men are there with shocked faces in which they soon snap back to reality. My eyes meet with the huge 15 foot wolf. I slowly and weakly stand up in which I regret. My head starts spinning but then something warm runs through my blood and I stand straight with cold eyes. 

'You have to survive' I hear a voice in my head whisper.

I look at the people with determination to get us out of here. I step back and release a horrendous scream. Some of the enemy drop to the floor ears, mouth and eyes bleeding.

"Ahhhhhhh!" I scream. I jolt awake on my bed. 

"It's alright here take this" Killian voice sounds from the dark. 

He hands me something in which I take. My hands open the sketch book and pulls out a coloured pen. And then like a mind of it's own the pen starts to slide across the page. It changes colours when it needs to and in seconds there are 5 pages filled with what happened in my dream. 

Killian gasps when he holds the book into the light. "A vision" He gaps like a goldfish at the pages before turning to me and which I have already fell deep asleep. "You truly are a wonder Adira" Killian says with so much brotherly love, proudness and admiration.

Mistakes will be made both as an author and in the book. Along with; revenge, schemes, friendship, betrayal and love. 

Eh? Love? Nah-ah. 

Adira Yukimura is cold when in front of people she doesn't know or hate. Well it's either that or she's in a playful mood and will anger you to death. Either way stand in her way and you will bear the consequences. 

She is sent to a high school for the very first in her life (she is not happy about it). She meets a lot of different people. Some are old friends and enemies, some are new. 

Adira faces a lot of things during a span of one year, a year that will forever be on her and her friends minds. 

Will everything work out? Will Adira survive and protect the people she loves or will she die trying? 

(Adira has a large family which majority is men not to mention that she has loads of brothers hence her being closer to males than females)

There will be some scenes that include murder or can make some feel uncomfortable so if you are one I wouldn't suggest you read this book

This is my first novel so please forgive me for mistakes. This will also be in first person (I, me, my) but there will be a reason. Find out at the end.

Chapter 34 Evil Book Part 6

     Parma is shocked awake, how much time has passed is unclear, the fog has cleared from his mind, as has his monstrous mutation melted. Artus, on the other hand, seems to be missing. As if jolted awake by night-terror Parma spins about collecting his surroundings. He is on the bathroom floor, the shower still on, running cold. Parma jumps to his feet shouting "Artus!"
Ice crackles spreading sharply across the mirror of the bathroom, Parma cries out for his sister two more times before the mirror yells at him. "Bite your tongue marshmallow, unless you are looking for a fight. Artus is fine; she is with me in the book."
Through the spreading ice a face forms in the mirror: a hauntingly Stunning, vaguely human, grotesque vestige, discreetly feminine, pearl white skin, eyes sewn shut, hair replaced with hooks and chains flung back from the scalp, an empty slit running down the neck giving the only sign of color, a bright pink gash against sliver white backing, its lips black like coagulated blood.
Parma locks eyes with the monster in the mirror; the mirror orders him "go downstairs, grab my book, I want Jun next. Pick one of your sister's animals, and I will turn the two of them into a striking forbidden pleasure for you."
Parma's mouth drapes open as he gazes on the inhuman creature "I can see you."
"I coming, becoming more like what you are, coming closer to your world."
"for what purpose? What are you after?" 
"What do you care Marshmallow? You benefit all the same." 
In a half-intoxicated state Jun stumbles up the steps having heard Parma yelling. "Parma? Everything good?" Jun notices the Ice; she is shocked into alertness. Jun catch the smallest glimpse of the monster under glass.  Jun turns to flee, Eevee notices.
Eevee shouts at Parma "Get the book, bring me Jun." Parma enticed by the prospect of power Eevee is offering turns to face where Jun had just run from and laid chase 
Jun rushes down the steps and to the front door. The door locks itself, Evee giggles, excited by the game they are playing.  Jun rounds the corner making her way across the kitchen; she scoops up a mop as she runs sliding it under her arm as a bo-staff. Parma catches up shortly.
Jun tries to open the back door with the same results as before; the door locks itself. "Jun, wait!" Parma calls. Jun thrust out with the mop jabbing Parma forcing him to buckle forward, she then sidesteps in and swings down breaking the mop over his back.
Eevee whispers to Parma "just tell me what you want from this scrappy dog and I will make it happen."
Parma sits up, darkness finding his eyes, the promise of power boiling his blood. "what is a good idea? I think my sister has a wolf puppy, use it." Light flashes, the book on the table snaps open flooding the floor with magic.
Jun picks up a folding chair from the front room in preparation for punching out a window. The magic dust filling the room loosens her grip, her eyes widen as the chair drops, her will to fight robbed from her.  Apatheism overrides all other feelings, Jun's head tips back; her jaw stretches, white fur covers her body, her arms, and legs stretch, growing new joints and muscular structure, her clothing peals away from her body. Merely moments after the light fades Jun is gone, and a monstrous shewolf out of Norse mythology has replaced her. Seven feet tall, hunched forth onto all fours, hands, and feet wider than a human chest, crooked teeth two inches long each. Her clothing stretched and ripped in ways that make it functionally useless 
Eevee cackles "here you go marshmallow, your own personal wolf bitch. Anything else I can do for you right away?" Parma approaches wolf Jun. He walks around her looking her up and down. Under her white fur, her skin has turned a coal black, her eyes retain their human expression. Jun stands still in a blank state, her mind still rebooting after the shock of her transformation. "Go ahead, tell her to do something."
Parma shacks he head, "this is so wrong."
Eevee snarls "you are already balls deep in this, Don't you dare go soft! You have power, use it!"
Parma starts to complain "But…"
Eevee cut him off before he can finish a thought "It's only skin." 
Parma's mind is warped, his thoughts twisted, Eevee invades Parma's lower brain pulling at his most beastly nature "Jun," Parma orders "stick up your tail. I want to take a peek."
Jun recognizes the voice; she must comply.  Jun lays forth, her hindquarters extend, and her tail lifts sticking her ass end in the air, her head turns and ears drop as she watches Parma. Parma sets a hand on Jun's back petting down her back and up her tail, his head lowers as he looks at her underside, quickly his hand moves from her tail to her underbelly, then his hand wraps around her spade shaped lips. 
A tiny drop of fluid forms at the tear of Jun's lips. Parma moves both hands onto Jun's hips, he rubs up and down her sides, his hands ruffling up her course white fur. Jun's tail falls off to one side flagging; her mouth slides slightly open letting the tip of her tongue leave her muzzle, her eyes widen with a soft wine. Jun can taste the lust on Parma's body; the passion infects her. 
Jun jerks her hips from side to side rubbing Parma off on her; Parma allows his unit to be slid into Jun. Parma gasp as Jun's lips squeeze down; Jun starts bobbing her hips up and down forcing Parma to play with her fast and harshly.
Parma grips Jun by the hips holding her back against him; he gives her what she demands, Parma pushes hard into Jun then starts giving her quick strokes. Jun can't take the pleaser for long. After only slightly over five minutes of being played with Jun has a sticky spray of feminine juice onto Parma, Parma falls forward onto Jun's back and empties his love into her body in return. Jun collapses overwhelmed.
As Parma is recovering the book slams closed, Jun vanishes drawn into the pages of the book. Parma rolls onto his side, a stinging pain pushing throw his body. He growls and barks rolling around on the floor. Parma's body is molded by Eevee; Parma grows younger, thinner, his hair darkens, his eyes become hypnotic. Parma jumps into the shape of a wolf momentarily, then a rat, then back to himself before the pain stops.
Eevee is no longer just in Parma's mind; she is now in his body as well, ever time Parma calls on her a piece of him will vanish and a piece of her will replace him. The possession has begun. Once half Parma's body belongs to her, Eevee can kill off her host and be brought fully into this world unhindered.
"Parma, my love." Eevee whispers, "how may I pleasure you next?"

Every day after that I ate the food Remi brought without complaints. I didn't want a repeat of what happened before to happen again... I felt so guilty and responsible for that poor woman. I step out of the shower and numbly get dressed in the large shirt.
He had told me to shower or there would be consequences... He left underwear and a large white shirt... lovely. But to be honest, I couldn't bring myself to put my old clothes back on... I had gotten pretty ripe... the clothes should be burned.
I look at the round harmless brush he left for me and sigh. He didn't even give me silverware to eat with and to be honest, it was a smart move on his part because I would have carved his eyes out with a damn spoon at this point.
Everything was within his control and I hated it...after brushing my hair and teeth I walk out into the room to find Remi sitting on the bed reading a book. I freeze as he lifts his head to look at me with his dark green eyes. His good looks were wasted on this psychopath... 
He shifts away but when I feel something behind me I spin to find him picking up my dirty clothes. The clothes quickly disintegrate leaving me confused. He could make things disappear? I step away from him as I back into the room.
I felt extremely bare in front of him with nothing but underwear and a large shirt. Technically, I had been in worse shape down in the tunnels but somehow it felt extremely uncomfortable now. Probably because I'm aware of his intentions now...
"I'm glad you're finally listening, Maya. Things are much better this way and I prefer you in my clothes." Remi says leaning against the bathroom door while looking me over. His clothes? I look down with a frown then back to Remi as he gives me a warm smile.
My frown grows as I step back again. He pushes off the door and walks towards me causing my heart to race in fear. When my back hits the cold bars on the door my heart nearly stops. He stops in front of me as he says "From now on you'll sleep in the bed I've made for you."
I sneer at him as I say "I prefer the floor." Remi's smile grows as he reaches out and places his hand on the wall next to the bars. He says something in another language while looking straight at me. I quickly glance at the walls as they begin to faintly glow.
Suddenly the temperature in the room drops causing me to shiver. He moves his hand over and grabs the bar beside my head. "It would be a shame if you were to catch a cold but I would love to take care of you if you do..." He reaches out with his other hand and gently touches my cheek.
I glare at him as the temperature continues to slowly drop. He suddenly pushes away and walks to the bed before pulling the covers back. He turns to me and says "I also plan to keep you company tonight but you don't have anything to worry about. I won't touch you unless you want me to..."
I scoff at him and his twisted logic. I walk back over to my corner and pull my knees to me. I pull the large shirt over them as I try to stay warm... Remi watching me with a smile as he unbuckles his pants. My heart frantically beats as I pull my legs closer to me.
He ignores me as he slips them off, leaving him in nothing but his black boxers. He grabs his shirt and takes it off as well. He takes his time crawling into the bed with the warm blankets as I grit my teeth... I see what he's doing.
I'd rather be a damn popsicle!! Remi pulls the book back to him as he makes himself comfortable under the warm fluffy looking covers. After an hour or so I'm shivering hard as I try to stay warm. Any time I look over to Remi he's seen reading his book, completely ignoring me. 
I glare at him as I envision all the ways I want to kill him. My teeth begin clattering as another wave of shivering runs through my body. I'm surprised I can't see my breath! Remi looks up at the sound and says "I know you're stubborn but this is just ridiculous, come to bed Maya." I curl my lip up at him as I flash him with my long canines. Maybe I'll just rip his throat out with my own damn teeth...

As the commencement of the tournament echoed throughout the coliseum; one of the gems carried by each participant glowed and floated up, then it crashed towards the wall and a stone arch emerged from the wall.
The gem's position was on the topmost part of the arch. The glow then began to disappear and reappear in a pattern, as if it's a pulsating heart.
Symbols surfaced from the stone arch as the pulsating glow travelled from top to bottom like blood flowing out of a heart, circulating towards the different parts of the body.
A spark appeared and the part of the wall within the stone arch liquified and turned into a portal.
"Whoa." James couldn't help but express his amazement by the sight, "Mr. Allen, you will go through that to enter the first round?"
"Yes." Allen nodded.
"I wonder what is inside that portal." The kid murmured.
Without replying, Allen then dropped his satchel beside the portal. It was unallowed to bring in any kinds of object, aside from clothes of course. If anybody tried to do so, the portal would repel them back.
As Allen entered, the portal dispersed into nothingness.

The first round would be mainly for elimination.
In this round, each of the contestants would be presented 101 books. Each book has 1,000 images of countless varieties of plants, making a total of 100,000 images of plants to be filled up of their description.
The requirement to pass this round is to obtain a total of 40,000 points. How were they to be calculated?
There were 101 books, however, each of them also has different kinds of difficulties which could be determined through their covers.
The easiest to fill up were the 35 white books. Each of the images filled up with the right description would be 1 point. Making it a total of 35,000 points.
Next would be the 45 purple books. It would be 3 points per each image successfully answered. Making it a total of 135,000 points.
The third type of book would be the red ones. There were 20 of them and each of the plant rightfully solved would give one 20 points. Which was a total of 400,000 points.
Lastly, there was the single black book, with each of the plants drawn within it would be worth 40 points if correctly answered. Making it a perfect total of 40,000 points.
It was also the most difficult book.
All of the participants were teleported to another separate single tall chambers. Allen looked at the towers of stocked books, then he glanced at a single desk and chair with a working lamp on top of it.
He also noticed that his strength was suppressed to the point he could be considered as a normal human after he entered the room.
Although his strength was generally clamped down to a nil; his senses weren't fully suppressed and noticed that his speed was much faster, or rather, the time was slower in the room. The slowness of time was a familiar sensation to Allen, he had encountered it before in the Mount Watchtower and inside his consciousness where the Erchian Dagger resided.
Allen walked around the room first. He searched all around before picking up a book.
It was the black book.
He proceeded to the desk, sat down, and opened the book.

Meanwhile, in the other rooms Dorothy, Gavin, and a few others also picked up the black book and opened its first page.
As it was a single black book. A lot of them thought that it was best to answer it first because it would also provide the most points.
On its first page, they all saw a drawing of a blue lotus flower, it was so realistic as if they could feel the coldness that the real flower would emanate just from the drawing.
"Blizzard Crown Lotus?" All of them recognized the said plant.

"This is so easy!"

"Isn't this supposed to be in the white books?" Said a baffled old man.

"Talk about free 40 points." Another contestant clicked his tongue in surprise.

They all wrote the Blizzard Crown Lotus' description, from its petals towards its stems, its possible origin, even minor information such as its other variant names, etc.
As soon as they finished writing each and every one of its definition, the page glowed, signifying they successfully obtained 40 points.
Majority of the people who initially tried the black book was taken aback by the ease of the first image.
As they were about to turn to the next page, the scene before them changed to a dark frozen snowing wasteland.

"Oh no.", Gavin said as he unconsciously stood up, after he did so, the desk and the chair along with everything else on top of it disappeared out of thin air.
"This wasn't written in the gems!"

Allen realized what was happening. He tried to sense internal energy within his body but he noticed that it was still suppressed.
It was also the same occurrence with the contestants who answered the black book. Some of them began cursing themselves for their stupidity, while others started to ran towards in different directions as soon as it occurred.
If somebody could watch the people who wrote on the black book, they'd be laughing from a number of the contestant's reaction.
Allen sensed something that set its sight on him, he slowly turned around and saw several blue eyes watching him under the blanket of darkness. The eyes made it seem like their possessor was some sort of a dangerous primordial beast.
A high-pitched screeched emanating coldness and destitute sounded out from the direction of the eyes. Allen ran towards the opposite direction, while running away, he looked behind him to see nothing but empty darkness.
Due to the heavy snowfall along with the suppression of his strength, Allen's line of sight was reduced tremendously.
"Mmmmhmm…" The monster behind him suddenly could be heard moaning, just after the moans the area around Allen became even colder, and he felt that the cold started to creep in his body and began corrupting it.
Allen felt the sensation was familiar and he determined what it was, "Magic Frostbite."
Ice gradually formed on his skin, beginning from his feet and from his hands. As his internal energy was suppressed, he couldn't put up a fight against the power that was corrupting his body.
A few moments of running later, he spotted a glowing dot from afar. Allen immediately turned towards the direction where the dot was and sprinted.
Suddenly, he heard the sounds of something piercing through the air from the sky behind him. Numerous icicles rained down on him from above.
The icicles hit the ground, and exploded into little bits of sharp ice which increased the danger of just being near them.
However, where he could he hide from them in this plain of snow?
There were short explosions every time those projectiles touch the ground. Allen carefully yet also hastily dodged the icicles and their remaining bits.
The ground began shaking and shaking more intensively. Allen knew that the monster was getting closer and closer towards him.
The rain of icicles stopped. At the same time, several blue eyes emerged from the darkness behind Allen. The distance between him and the eyes shortened by each second that passed.
As the blue eyes arrived several meters away from Allen, the glowing dot from afar became even brighter and a ball of fire shot out from it.

"EEEK…"
The ball of fire hit the monster. Allen made a short glance of the beast behind him, and saw a giant multi-eyed four-legged beast.
The eyes were on some sort of giant petals which were emitting a faint bluish light. The petals were located at the foremost front of the monster's body, and in the part of the body where the petals were attached at was a mouth with numerous teeth made of ice.
In addition, due to the light that the ball of fire provided, Allen also spotted the beast's exposed spine on its back.
But Allen didn't waste a single chance that the monster was hindered by the fireball. With everything he got, he ran towards the source of the fire.
When the dot of light was already as big as his fist from his perception. He stumbled in an area devoid of snow. Unlike the snowy wasteland, grass and other kinds of plants were healthily growing.
The Magic Frostbite dispersed from his body. Allen searched all around himself for injuries and saw a small portion of his arm near the elbow was pierced by an ice shard. He then removed the shard right out of his arm without any hitch, leaving behind a holed sleeve soaked in blood.
He looked back from the direction from where he came from, and saw nothing but only darkness and heavy snowfall.
Allen sat down at the grassy ground. He knew that the monster wouldn't dare come closer to this location, if it could, he would've already been gobbled up by it.
After resting for a few minutes, he stood back up and discarded his already tattered cloak. He might not have been hit from all the monster's icicle attacks, but his clothes weren't given any mercy.
He approached the dot of light he spotted earlier, which was actually on the tower.
On top of the tower was a pulsating energy, the same energy that kept the cold at bay on the boundaries of its aura.
Vines and other invasive plants grew near the tower's base, extending upwards.
However, the most important thing now was that his internal energy in here wasn't fully suppressed unlike on the outside. Nevertheless, the energy wasn't enough to trigger his regeneration abilities.
He circled around the tower and sighted a furnace and other tools for creating pills and elixirs on the other side.
He knew what he had to do as soon as his sighted the alchemic tools.
Allen sat down in front of the tools and landed a glimpse on the energy on the tower.
The energy was slowly dissipating.
If it fully dissipated, the protection it was giving off would also die off.
Time was of essence; without delay, Allen stood up and gathered plants and herbs to concoct the needed pills and elixirs.
 

A few days before his little brother's birthday, Allen Morgan, only a 13 year-old, was almost caught by the guards after he was seen thieving pockets.

In a bid to escape their eyes, he entered a tavern, but little did he know that action would forever change the course of his life.

He wanted to be rich for his family. Did he obtain it?

He rooted for his father to understand him. Was he successful in that endeavor?

He wanted his little brother to have a good life. Did he even get it?

In order to acquire them, he chose between the betterment of his life or of others. Did he regret it? Or did those choices lead him to something worse?

His mother, nowhere to be found.

His father, might as well consider him a good-for-nothing.

Himself, in a state of oblivion.

Follow Allen in his journey, in a world where he began to ruin many people's lives. Would he care about them? Would he be indifferent? Or be one of them?

"THERE'S SO MANY people out and about town!" Alice gasped, turning her head to follow a little boy that was holding onto a candied apple that had rushed past her.

"Yes," Wyatt beamed, his eyes pressed closed due to his smile, crinkling at the corners. "It's always rather busy in the capital of Gladiolum." 

A day after the ball, Wyatt had suggested bringing Alice around the town square to soak in the sights. He personally had to do a little shopping and thought that it would be a wonderful chance for Alice to grow more familiar with the capital. She had been living with the Ragans for nearly two weeks and yet she had barely even stepped out of the mansion's walls. It was best for young ladies to enjoy their time around town with friends. Being constantly cooped up in the study room with Charlie wasn't exactly an ideal situation in Wyatt's opinion. Of course, not that Alice had ever complained.

Strolling through the cobbled streets, Wyatt pointed out some of his personal favorite shops along the way. They passed by boutiques selling beautiful ball gowns, stores selling sparkling jewels, and even quaint little cafes that wafted out the sugary sweet scent of freshly baked pastries. However, while Alice acted as though she was very interested in those, he could tell that was all it was. An act. She simply smiled and nodded to Wyatt's words, not once asking to step into any of those stores like he had expected. Yet again she had him colored surprised.

Just the thought brought a curving smile onto his lips. The girl that his family had chanced upon was most certainly different from the rest of the girls in the capital. She stood out in such a way that there wasn't any spare place for the others to shine. She was the lone star now, a happy and proud resident of the Ragan household. While still suspicious of her origins, Wyatt couldn't help but admit to himself that he was growing fond of Alice Clemente.

"Are you not interested in any of the shops I pointed out?" He prodded. "Those are all famous names here in the capital."

"Oh!" Alice exclaimed. Wyatt watched with his practiced smile as the girl's eyes widened delightfully, eyelashes fluttering like a pair of butterfly wings under the golden sunlight. Her lips parted just a little in surprise before she quickly gathered back her wits, shaking her head politely. "They are all wonderful shops. I just… I don't have any money to buy all those things. Looking through the store window is more than enough."

For years Wyatt had worn the same smile on his face. It was his perfectly crafted mask made to shield his true emotions from the rest of the nobles. No matter what he felt inside, a smile was always the answer to dealing with those that had to be schemed against. However, every time Alice spoke or made one of her silly little expressions, he found his smiles to turn true as day.

"Let us go into that one, then." Wyatt pointed to a little bookshop down the street, a corner store with a gleaming bronze sign. "There are some things I wish to purchase."

Alice nodded. "Alright," she said.

Although her expression remained as still as possible, Wyatt still caught the slight twitch of her lips. The sparkles in her eyes practically screamed of her excitement. She couldn't fool anyone. Even the blind could tell that she was particularly eager to enter the bookshop. 

The little bell that hung above the door rang when Wyatt entered the shop. Inside, there were no other customers, simply a store clerk that had a book in hand. A pair of round spectacles rested on his crooked nose bridge, his eyes scanning the words at an immense speed before he licked his finger and flipped to the next page. At the call of the bell, the clerk looked up from his book, squinting at the door before rising to his feet. The book was placed pages-down onto the counter, a smile upon his lips.

"Master Wyatt!" The old clerk greeted enthusiastically. "I was wondering when you'll be visiting next. The books you ordered two weeks back are finally here." 

"Greetings," Wyatt replied fairly. "And thank you so much for your help with those. It's nearly impossible to find them anywhere else."

The old man waved, his cheeks reddening just a little. "It's no problem. Let me go get them for you." Shuffling towards the back of the shop, the clerk disappeared behind a dividing curtain.

"Do you come here often?" Alice asked, looking around the small bookstore with great interest. At random, she pulled out one of the books from the shelves, her fingers tracing the title of the book on the cover, feeling the indented words on the hard leather.

'History of Gladiolum. Volume III,' it read. Alice had seen a similar history book in Charlie's study room before. Making a mental note to briefly read through the contents of the book, she slotted the book back to its original position.

"Hmm, I wonder." Tapping a finger to his chin, Wyatt looked deep in thought. "I guess I do visit this store a little more than the average folk. They sell writing supplies as well as books and I run out of the former a little too often. Besides, this store is the only one in the capital that can procure rare and often out-of-print."

Walking a little further into the shop, Alice glanced through the assortment of reading materials offered. They had both fiction and non-fiction books in the store, leaning closer to non-fiction books. Most books were new copies, their covers still brightly colored while others were much older and encased in glass covers. Those books seemed old and tattered but the words were still in dark black ink, most likely having been re-written over so that it wouldn't be lost to time. 

The one that had caught Alice's attention was a purple leather-bound book that was almost as thick as a dictionary. The title of this book was written in bright, glittery gold in thick block letters. A small sign that indicated the price of the old tome was placed beside the book. Alice's eyes widened at the number of zeros, her head reeling back a little in surprise. She still wasn't sure about how the currency worked in Gladiolum but with so many zeros, the book was bound to be expensive no matter the exchange rate.

'The Theory of Magic. Volume I,' the title wrote.

"Are you interested in that one? Ooh, that's a pricey one." Wyatt's voice was right by Alice's ear, causing her to jump a little, her ears tingling from his breath. Stepping away, she held both hands to her chest, staring wide-eyed at Wyatt who looked as amused as ever.

"Just looking," she answered before firing back a question of her own. "How much is that book? I don't really know how the currency works here."

"See that symbol over there?" Wyatt gestured to the symbol behind the number as he spoke. "That's the symbol for our currency, 'fleuron'. That's the larger of the two units that we have in our country's currency. The smaller unit is known as a 'flois'. Ten flois equates to one fleuron. To give you an example of its value, five flois can buy you a piece of stale bread at the end of the day in the capital's cheapest bakery, maybe? Books, on the other hand, are usually five to ten fleurons, if it's a common title that can be easily found."

Alice gulped. Judging by the examples Wyatt provided, the currency here in Gladiolum seemed similar to the system she was used to. A single fleuron held as much value as a dollar back home and a flois would be around ten cents. Her hands were starting to feel clammy as she stared hard at the price tag of The Theory of Magic. 

"And yet this book is…" she trailed off.

"Fifteen thousand fleurons," Wyatt finished the sentence for her chirpily.

Fifteen thousand dollars.

Taking another step back, Alice no longer dared to hover near the expensive article. If anything had happened to it, she wouldn't be able to pay the store back for the damages incurred. She had never seen a book as expensive or even half as pricey. 

"Why is this book so… so…"

"Ridiculously priced?" Wyatt supplied. When Alice nodded numbly, Wyatt chuckled. "This is an ancient tome about magic. There are only five copies of this book that was ever produced. But if you're really interested in this book, there's no need for you to fork out such a hefty amount just to read it. We have a copy of it back in the mansion's library."

Flabbergasted and speechless, Alice blinked dumbly at what Wyatt had so casually revealed. Although she long knew that the Ragan mansion was a sprawling estate with many different needlessly fanciful rooms, she hadn't even thought to think that it might house precious artifacts within its walls. 

In Gladiolum, it seemed as though the gap between its people was wider than the ocean. The rich lived in heaven while the poor couldn't even afford hell.

"Why don't you take a look around the bookshop and see if there's anything that catches your eye?" Wyatt offered. "If we don't already have the book back home, I don't mind making a few extra purchases. It's the least I can do for dragging you out here with me on such a warm afternoon."

Alice's heart skipped a beat. She braved a step closer, momentarily forgetting about the book in the glass display case. Cupping her hands together as if they were in prayer, Alice beamed.

"Really? Any book?"

Wyatt's smile didn't falter. "There's no budget, if that's what you're asking."

Alice wasted no time. Her feet went scurrying across the dark wooden boards of the store, quickly scouring the bookshelves in search of any title that might help her or catch her fancy. Her fingers ran down the spines, quickly pulling out a few covers that had caught her attention, some fiction and some not. She had a feeling that most, if not all, of the non-fiction books were already available in the Ragans' library but there was no harm in bringing the books over for Wyatt to look through. These books will become her survival guide in this foreign world.

As the store clerk returned to the front counter, Wyatt slowly made his way over. However, he was still gazing in Alice's way, watching silently and bemused as the girl darted from shelf to shelf, climbing ladders and bending low in search of more. There were already over seven books in her hands and she only ever added more to the collection.

"My," the old clerk exclaimed. "I've not seen anyone so frantic for a good title since you first came to my humble store years ago. The old ladies at the bakery next block over will go mad once they hear that the young Master Wyatt is no longer single."

The white-haired man chuckled. "She's just a curious little bird my brother picked up a while back."

The old man shrugged, unconvinced, but he didn't say a word more on that topic. With a heavy thump, he placed three thick books onto the counter, the covers in the three primary colors. The titles were all written in gold, large block letters.

"This set was a little trickier to find as compared to your other requests but there you go. Though, Master Wyatt, don't mind this old man prying but are you sure you want to dabble in this subject? There's always a price to pay when you go against the laws of science."

"I can pay whatever price the world throws at me," Wyatt casually remarked. Picking up one of the books carefully with a gloved hand, he examined the old cover, grinning with satisfaction. "Besides, I'm just completing my collection. With these, the set will now be complete. There's no need to worry, sir."

"Oh well," the old clerk sighed, pursing his lips. "If you're sure, youngin. Let me wrap these up for you."

Tottering away, the elderly went to retrieve a few sheets of brown wrapping paper and some strings to bundle up Wyatt's purchases while waiting for Alice. 

Partially leaning on the counter, Wyatt continued to observe Alice. She no longer had the strength to carry the books she had picked out. Instead, she placed most of them on an empty table by one side. The stack of books was almost taller than she was and yet she continued to hunt for more, her eyes practically dripping with avarice.

'How peculiar,' Wyatt thought to himself. 'She is unaffected by fanciful dresses or glittering jewels and yet dusty old books can bring her into a craze. What an odd woman. She is most certainly a woman before her time.'

❝I want you to visit me even if it's only in your dreams.❞ 

Gifted a candle that was said to be able to make wishes come true, Alice Clemente burned it that very night only to find herself in an unknown world the next morning. 

She had wished for a life of adventure away from the city and its routine. With her wish granted, she was whisked away to a world very different from the one she grew up in. 

Thrust into a new life, would Alice learn how to adapt? Or would she fall down the rabbit hole only to never surface again?

As Alexa massaged her temples to soothe her unexpected headache, Una immediately noticed what was going on and she began chanting in a voice that was too low for Alexa to hear. Soon Una's hands began glow pale green and then Una placed her hands on Alexa's head and within a couple of  minutes, her headache was completely gone. 

"Mistress, are you alright, I can't believe we forgot to tell you that it takes a lot of magic to bind a monster to the dungeon and you've only been the dungeon master for a day...." Alexa quickly hugged Una and began patting her back in an attempt to calm her down while saying "Shhh....It's okay, thanks for helping me."

 After Una had calmed down, Alexa leaned back into the velvet sofa and began stretching and yawning. When she was done, Alexa reached over to the table and picked up the old book with the glowing golden runes that Una had picked up in order to help Alexa fulfill one Argent's requests for agreeing to join Astral Descent.

 Alexa took a closer look at the book and ran her fingers over the leather cover with the runes when suddenly the enchanted mirror began to make sounds from Alexa's pocket. Alexa then took out the Dungeon System which began to glow a very bright pink light that formed a small sphere that enveloped the rune-covered book which ended up disappearing which then began to speak to her in its usual electronic voice.

 "Mistress, congratulations on unlocking a new power from the Dungeon System, this one is the Monster Customization which allows you to make monsters bound to the dungeon stronger and teach new skills and abilities in order to make them more useful to the dungeon. You can purchase these skills using dungeon points which are 250 points each.

 By the way, you have also earned 500 points for successfully contracting a monster to Astral Descent." When the Dungeon System had finished speaking, Alexa stared at Argent with the biggest, almost maniacal grin which also managed to creep Rune out a little bit.

 "Hey Boss, could you tone it down a bit, you look kinda crazy." Alexa ignored him and began happily accessing the new feature from the Dungeon System.
 
Alexa spent about ten to sixteen minutes using the Monster Customization power to look for skills to give to Argent until she gave a small squeal of delight at what she had found. Then the Dungeon System began to speak again, "Mistress, you have chosen to give Argent, a rare monster known as an arachne which are known for being trained to embroider and create garments for human noblewomen. What you have chosen to teach Argent are the skills known as Seamstress Mastery and Advanced Embroidery Mastery, are you sure this is what you want?" 

Alexa motioned Argent to come close and showed him the skills that she had selected in order give a job to do in the dungeon with requiring him to participate in combat. Argent took a look at the skills that Alexa had considered teaching him and her began chirping happily.

 Alexa then used the Monster Customization feature during which both Argent and the enchanted mirror began to glow a faint magenta color but it soon faded with the enchanted mirror reporting "Skill transfer complete, from now on, should the dungeon mistress defeat any monsters  or adventurers, there is a fifty percent chance of collecting their skills to transfer to dungeon subordinates." 

A short moment of silence filled the room until Rune's voice piped up "Did it work?" with his long fuzzy black tail twitching in anticipation. Alexa was quiet at first but soon she had the perfect idea to test out to see if Argent had acquired the skills that Alexa had collected using the Dungeon System. Alexa got up off the velvet sofa and grabbed Una's hand and she grabbed the petite blonde snake girl and dragged into the massive walk in closet.

 After waiting for a short while, the two girls came out of the closet with Una wearing a over sized dark blue tunic-like dress that white sash-like belt around the waist while Alexa had dressed in the plain off the shoulder red velvet dress that she and Una had found earlier that day.

 Alexa then began speaking in an excited tone "Argent, in order to test your new sewing skills, please alter the dress that Una is wearing and then put some decoration on this dress to make it prettier." 

Argent used one of his silver colored pincers to salute Alexa and then he jumped off the table and he began crawling up Una snipping parts of the dress she was wearing and at the same time using the thread that was secreted by his tail to assist in his alterations on the dress. After a what felt like ten minutes had passed, Argent finished his work and jumped into Alexa's arms and then he and Alexa began admire Argent's handicraft skills.

 Una's dress had been altered to fit and what used to be an over sized dress had been transformed into a short navy colored dress with white trim on the hem and a pure white clothe belt on the waist.  "Wow. Una, you look so pretty in that dress. The color really brings out your blue eyes." Rune gave a toothy grin and Alexa complimented Una with a happy grin on her face while the snake girl tried to hide her blushing  face behind her long blonde hair.

 Argent then proceeded to crawl out of Alexa's arms and he then began crawling around the red velvet floor length dress that hung around her shoulders above her cleavage. The little scorpion used his tail to carefully embroider a pattern onto the bodice and around the hem of the dress. The small scorpion took a little longer with Alexa's dress than with Una's but eventually he finished and then Argent jumped off Alexa's dress and onto the floor and seemed to be pleased with himself.

 Using one of the skills Alexa taught him, Argent had managed to create a beautiful pattern of embroidered roses made of sparkling golden thread that gave the plain red dress a dazzling appearance. After Alexa had spun around admiring her dress's new look, the group soon began that the day was almost over and that it would be best to go to bed. Una and Alexa headed back into the closet where they cleaned up and then Una changed back into her original white dress while Alexa had changed into the black nightgown that she had found earlier. 

On her way towards the large canopy bed, the strawberry blonde yawned and the she loudly called out "Goodnight everyone" and the others soon returned the sentiment. As Alexa reached and got settled into bed, she noticed with a faint smile that Rune and Una had settled into their respective spaces while Argent had gathered the leftover scraps f fabric that was left over from altering Una's dress and had gone into the closet. Alexa snuggled under the covers and then she slowly drifted off to sleep, ready to begin her second day as a dungeon master.

A normal girl is summoned to be the next master of an unpopular dungeon. 

"No monsters to serve me, then I'll negotiate." "An arrogant prick wants to conquer me, I'll send him flying, "Some monsters don't want to fight then let's open an cafe inside the dungeon".

 Armed with the Dungeon Master System, her loyal monsters, and her creativity, nothing will stop the lady boss of the unpopular dungeon.

Taehyung slowly wakes up from the buzzing of his phone in his back pocket, he sits up and takes his phone out and sees that he missed -219- phone calls and -1,457- unread messeges from Jimin. His eyes widen in shock, he didn't expect this to happen right when he just woke up. Before he unlocks his phone he looks down at Yoongi who was sleeping, all curled up in a ball.. sleeping like the cute kitty he is. Taehyung smiles then looks back at his phone a little worried what's the reason behind these call and messeges from Jimin.

Taehyung opens his phone and reads the text messeges from Jimin.

Taehyung sighs in stress and fear. He brushes his hair back since his head was getting warm from how scared he is.. || Is he gonna kill me if I answer him?!... Will he forgive me if I tell him why I didn't answer?! No that's dumb..! Uuuggh! What do I do!!!!|| he says in his head. Taehyung does an angry loud growl and throws his phone to the wall in front of him and lays back down.

Yoongi jumps up scared from the loud noise he heard, he sits up and looks down at Taehyung and shakes him
" Taehyung Taehyung Taehyung!!! Did you hear that?!?! It sounded like someone broke into the house!!!!!" He says afraid and terrified. His eyes get teary and hold onto Taehyung's arm.
"Yoongi that was my phone, I threw it to the wall right now..." he says groaning as he softly scoots away from Yoongi's hands
"Ohh.. why though?? Did something bad  happened ??" Yoongi asks and tilts his head 
"I'll tell you later Yoongi.. I just want to sleep again.." Taehyung says turning to him and holds his hand. Yoongi nods and lays back down. Taehyung pulls Yoongi close to him and lays his head on Yoongi's shoulder, so he could calm down from the stress. Yoongi softly smiles and hugs Taehyung to make him comfortable....

                    (Jimin's POV + Namjoon)
Jimin wakes up at 7:38 am, he turns on his Mochi lamp and looks at his phone... no replies, and no text messeges back. Jimin gets mad and sighs with anger.
"When is that bitch gonna answer me back?!?!" he gets off the bed and turns on his lights to get ready for the day. He first takes a refreshing shower to calm his mind and not think about Taehyung not answer him... next he got some cute clothes to wear for the day (It was a soft boy look ish but mixture with modern look). 
Once he finished that he eats breakfast and leaves his home/ penthouse.

Jimin goes to a nearby coffee shop and sits in the corner of the coffee shop so no one could see him. Forty five minutes later the plan got cut by a waitress who walked up to Jimin. 
"Hello young man, what would you like to order?" the waitress asked politely to Jimin. The waitress was wearing a black apron, under it was a white shirt, and was wearing dark blue jeans. He smiles at Jimin and takes out his small notebook and a pen. 

Jimin looks up at the waitress,  not expecting him to be so tall. He gulps and softly speaks.."Oh! u-uhh... may I have black coffee and a cookie, p-please..?" he asked nervously looking at the waitress.
"Ah yes we do, and what kind of cookie would you like?" The waitress asks as he writes down the black coffee.
" Sugar cookie, please!" Jimin says softly smiling. The waitress looks down at Jimin with a small smirk and soft chuckles.
"Alright, I'll get your order ready for you in no time." the waitress left and went to the kitchen.

|| Dang he's so hot.. he must be taken already.. by someone else better looking than me that's for sure..|| Jimin says in his mind. He softly sighs and takes out a book and reads it to make the time go by... the waitress comes back and places the coffee in front of Jimin and puts the cookie next to the coffee. He softly smiles then taps on Jimin's book. Jimin quickly looks up and sees the (hot) waitress in front of him, he tries not to blush.
" o-oh.. sorry sir. I didn't see you th-there.!" Jimin says nervously laughing and fixing his hair a little.
"No worries,You seem so into that book I see..?" 
the waitress says raising his eyebrow and smirking at Jimin. Jimin starts blushing and covers half of his face. 
"Kimnamjoon..Namjoon for short" the waitress says as he takes out a hand for a shake. Jimin looks at his large hand and blushes even more.
" P-parkjimin.. Jimin for sh-short..!" Jimin shakes Namjoon's hand and smiles at him. Namjoon smiles back and soft blushes. Seconds later they both notice that they didn't let go of each other's hands. Then they Awkwardly stops and laughs softly. 
"hehe.. well, I better go back to work. Hope you love your coffee... Jimin" Namjoon winks at him  and walks away... Jimin blushes red and drinks his coffee...
