* What readers seek ?

It is a misconception that the protagonist of a story must be like an expert, who never loses, and searches for something elusive such as 'the peak of the sword' etc.

Actually, the readers do not care what kind of person the protagonist is, as they might be reading multiple web novels in a single day. What the readers search for are only three things :
 1. Authority
 2. Success
 3. Improvement

A web novel is a wish fulfillment novel, where the readers imagine themselves to be the Protagonist. This is why the Protagonist must, after a certain point, have high status in the story, success in all fields, whether academic or relationship, and a tremendous improvement compared to their past selves.

Such protagonists are called as the Orthodox Protagonists, who follow the pre-defined templates.


* Unorthodox Writing

Consider a typical scenario :

A teenage boy of sixteen pulls a holy sword from a rock, becoming a hero. Eventually, he sets off with a party of four – the hero wielding a sword, a barbarian man with a shield, an beautiful elf with a bow and arrow, and an innocent and curvy healer.

This is a common template, which has been used and refined over the years, with the hero who wields the sword being the Protagonist. The sword wielding hero will eventually seduce the elf and the innocent healer, and the barbarian man will become his best friend and right hand man (a.k.a. his subordinate).

Such web novels are difficult to write, as they have been already explored, and the readers are fed up with it.

This calls for a change in perspective.

Perhaps a story centered around the barbarian man.

Remember that your web novel must be "immersive", just like a good video game. If a novel is very immersive, then it will be hard for the readers to part with your created world.


* How to make a web novel immersive ?

01. Your Protagonist must not be a typical protagonist. In the above example, he can be anyone other than the sword wielding hero, like the barbarian man, the demon king, a merchant in the world, the king of the human world, etc.

The reason is that the template protagonists are usually elusive, and they are not much in contact with the world because of their 'mission'. On the other hand, a 'mob character' is more connected to the world, yet does not attract as much aggro as these supposedly main characters.

02. Your Protagonist must be a typical mortal.

Unlike the typical protagonists with indomitable wills and heavenly luck, your Protagonist can be a person with faults, like being greedy, lazy, or arrogant, etc.

These faults help the character to fit in the world better.

03. Your Protagonist should be affected by the world around him.

For example, if the Protagonist is a merchant, then he might hear of the hero's expedition and guess the demands in market for weapons, communication devices, food, etc. and make a killing.

Another example, if the Protagonist is a human city lord with a demon wife, he would proceed on a city expansion path to protect his demon acquaintances.
The point is, just as a hero has his quest, mob characters also have their own quests.

The best example for Unorthodox Writing is Fang Xiang's masterpiece "The World of Cultivation".

Even the pets in this novel have their own characters and personalities, and aren't just weapons or mounts. They are just like pets in real life- we do not expect our pets to work. We only keep them because of our emotional attachment.

"Aaric, are you listening? Why do you daydream so much?" Sasha shook the man in front of her and was finally relieved when he responded. 
"Let's have our breakfast." Aaric folded the newspaper and stood up. He wrapped his one hand around her shoulder and walked forward. Though Sasha's body stiffened at his action and she was confused about what actually happened to him early in the morning. Yet at the end she did not ask anything as she was too hungry right now to think about anything else.
After having a bowl full of chicken soup and three sandwiches, Aaric made sure her stomach was full before they moved out of the villa.
Aaric had just started the car but then he realised, where were they supposed to go today? He looked at his woman and asked.
"Where do you want to go today?"
Sasha remained silent as she pretended to think for a bit. At the end she looked at Aaric with a confused face and let the latter decide for today's trip. After all, in the evening they needed to head back to London. 
After a while, he thought of asking her out.
"Mm, do you want to roam around the city or would like to accompany me somewhere?" 
"Where?" Hearing Aaric's words Sasha's eyes brightened. 
"There's a place up to the hill. It is a quiet place where I go often whenever I come here. We can go there." Sasha nodded her head even though she could not really want to go anywhere today, still she wanted to accompany him. For everything he had done for her, she felt that it is only right for her to at least do this much for him. Whatever makes him happy, she would try her best to do it for him! Though saving her life, then giving her life a new meaning and of course how could she forget, he never forced anything on her. This was something most of the men would fail to do for their partners, but Aaric did everything for her an ideal partner should do. 
Inwardly, she always felt that people with such pure heart and love did not exist, especially after she started reading the perky novels which her husband had strictly prohibited her to read. Ofcourse it was not because of the storyline or about the novel. But the fact he felt it would not be good for her if she reads those adulterated books and then uses the phrases against him. "What is making you laugh so much, huh? Is there something on my face?" Aaric quickly looked at himself in the back mirror of his car to check if he looked like a joker that looking at his face made her laugh. He furrowed his brows and looked back at her. Here was nothing on his face, then why was she laughing at him? 
Sasha understood what he was trying to say, yet she was not in a mood to immediately leave him. He always teased him when he had the chance, now when she had the longer end of the stick then why should she waste her chance to tease him back and avenge. 
"Your face…" Sasha pointed out a finger and directed it towards Aaric's forehead. In response, he turned back and looked at the mirror to spot whether anything was on his forehead. There was nothing! Was she tricking him? 
Aaric turned back and questioned her.
"Are you sure that something is on my forehead and not in your brain?" 
"Of course, shall I read it out loud for you? What's written on your forehead?"
"Ohh don't worry I will happily tell you."

Wait! What the fuck! I'm a girl, how I'm supposed to be a prince! 

I requested John to bring some more sandwiches for Fee, and blackberry juice for me, I take care of my health more than my skin and hair cause my face doesn't matter but my health matters. 

"Lia, have you ever watched any rom-com movie?" She raised her brows in query, "let me guess, you like action and marvel movies only, right?" Fee looked like a five-year-old kid who gets excited when she talks about her adventure. 

My face went cold, "Right!" 

Her face broke into a burst of horrible laughter, she was making me doubt if I did something funny but no, I didn't. 

"Now, if you are done we can decide what we should watch," I suggested, and when she stopped laughing I uttered, "So, which movie?" 

She put a finger on her head, pressed her lips to make hmm sound, "what about my best friend's wedding?" 

I was startled, didn't know this could be the title of a movie, "are you sure? Is this the title of a movie?" My eyes widened when she nodded her head in a gesture of yes. 

Holy cow! 

I could deny her proposal but I won't, it's just a movie, why make it a big issue like a drama queen! 

"Okay, as you say, my dear friend!" 

"Would you be my bridesmaid on my wedding day?" She surprised me with her sudden question about marriage, eww! 

"Damn, you! Are you for real? How can you talk about marriage during your teenage years? Just focus on your career, Fee!" I banged my opinion on her. 

Fee wasn't astonished, "would you be my bridesmaid or not? Just answer me," she demanded as she was my teacher. 

"Of course! I'll be." I grinned, "you are not a bimbo but you are a hopeless romantic girl, now, you wanna watch this movie or switch to any fantasy or marvel?" I smirked as a devil, and she nodded. 

Fiona is a cute and simple girl, the thought of love excites her more than any chocolate, her mesmerizing brown eyes shine whenever she giggles, yeah, she laughs a lot. According to her, laughing is what you should always do because one day if you'll be in pain, you won't be able to laugh. So, laugh and smile because, at this moment, you are not in pain. 

She is an optimistic girl who wants to have a steady relationship with someone who will love her however she is, Fiona is not waiting for her prince charming but she is waiting for the right person, a simple, loving, compatible, and caring boy.

Li Lanni's class had successfully completed the first volume of the comic they were drawing.
Today, they started the second volume. 
As usual, after the lecture was done, the professor asked them to draw the comics for the second volume based on the story they were asked to read. While they were doing so, the professor walked around the classroom, silently assessing the comics made by the students. 
'This batch of students have improved a lot' the professor was delighted when he saw the paintings. Each one of them was unique and creative.
But then he stopped next to Li Lanni with a frown when he saw her painting. This girl… 
To avoid making her feel humiliated, he waited until the class ended, then called her to his office and questioned her. "Have you really read the novel and understood it?" 
Li Lanni nodded, wondering why he would ask such a question. They were in the second volume already. Wasn't that a given? 
"Really? I don't think you have really understood it enough. Because if you had, you would know that the novel is quite a happy one. Your comic wouldn't hold such darkness." 
Darkness? Li Lanni thought back to her comic. 
"It is easier for people who have read the original novel to overlook such a plot error. However, new readers will misunderstand it. As I said before, you should put yourself into character every time you make a sketch. Also, this is not the only problem I have noticed in your drafts. I am disappointed to say this, but your performance has significantly deteriorated since you first joined the class. While the others are improving, you are seriously lagging behind. Are you experiencing some problems? If you have some problems, you can share it with me." Though his words were condemning, his voice was gentle.
"No…" Li Lanni frowned, all this seeming new to her. When had she not put herself into character? 
"I will not take up too much of your time, but I haven't expected this results from you, who hwas the grand winner in the previous painting contest. Go on and think about it." The tutor said with a gentle smile. He hesitantly added, "You should know that no matter how much effort you put in something if you are being forced into it, all your efforts will be futile." 
"Thank you, sir. However, I'm not being forced into anything. I willingly joined this class." 
When Li Lanni left his office, the first thing she did was open her locker and take out all the drafts to take a look. These were just copies, she kept the originals at home but had copies in the studio locker for reference. 
She checked through them from the first chapter. At first, there wasn't any change. But from the fourth chapter, she began to notice that what the tutor had said was true. Seriously, if one were to see her latest chapter, there was no one would believe that she had joined the class by winning a contest. 
More importantly, it looked like the story had strayed from the original. If the dialogue were to be added, it was sure that it would look misplaced. 
But hadn't she been working hard? 
What went wrong?

Later in the afternoon,
Ji Xiehan completed his work earlier, pushed the less urgent documents aside before leaving his office. He would work on them later at night.
After asking Lin Jian and being laughed at for half an hour, he finally got his way around finding the least frequented movie theater. He had selected a popular movie more suitable for female audiences and booked tickets. 
All the previous times, he had got her to go out with him using schemes and tricks. This was the first time she had willingly agreed to go somewhere with him. This should be considered their first official date, right? 
So he followed Lin Jian's advice and found a present. He already had one; the bracelet he had bought her when they went shopping but didn't have the chance to give it to her. 
He wore the watch that was a match with it and took the bracelet with him. 
Feeling more confident, he let out the breath he didn't realize he was holding and went to pick Li Lanni up. 
The girl didn't make him wait too long. Two minutes after he sent her a text, he saw her exit the villa, wearing a blue dress that matched the color of his tie. 
He couldn't help smiling. What a sweet coincidence. 
"Did I keep you waiting?" She asked, her eyes staying on his tie for a few seconds. 
"No. I just arrived. You look beautiful." 
She blushed and unknowingly tightened her fists. "T-thank you." She had dressed up for him. It would be disappointing if she didn't look beautiful. She was happy that he liked it, and was even more pleased that their clothes were a complementing match. They looked just like a couple in love. Though she refused to accept it, she was delighted inside.
Once they were at the movies, he went ahead to buy snacks as she waited for him. "I booked tickets for a teenage drama 'Our Youthful Love.' I didn't know what kind of movies you liked, so I asked some of my female colleagues, and everyone said this was a nice one." He informed. 
"Haha…" When Li Lanni heard him say, she broke into a peal of laughter.
"What's so funny?" he was puzzled by her sudden laughter. 
Li Lanni burst into another round of laughter. "Haha..oh my god...haha..I can't control myself ..haha..Your face when you said the name of the movie was amusing." 
Ji Xiehan laughed at himself too. It was just that he was a little unsure. After buying the tickets for the teenage drama, he only later realized that it was full of fluffy romance. Then he remembered that when they talked about online novels, she mentioned a few that she liked. Those were all detective novels, and even if there were some romance ones, the main theme was a crime. 
Most people liked the same genre of movies and novels, so she should like detective and mystery, right?
But then again, she played otome games once in a while. So he didn't know whether to change the tickets or not. 
Li Lanni figured out why he was confused. She felt happy that he prioritized her choice. "I'm not really picky with what I read or watch. I only do it to pass the time, so you should have chosen what you like instead."

They took a seat close to the front. They were quite early, so there were only a handful of people aside from them.


"Little troubleshooter, we meet again. If you are still thinking of trying to get away, you better give up that silly idea." Ji Xiehan said, pinning her against the wall.

 Li Lanni pushed her fists against his chest. "Is this how you say ‘Hi’ to all your interviewers, Mr. Ji?" 

"There is no interviewer and certainly no interviewee." The man grinned devilishly. "There is only a husband and a wife. My darling, how are you going to compensate for all the emotional damage you caused me by slipping away?" 

"What?" Heavens... just what had she gotten herself into?

 Her life almost came to an end because of a tragic accident but instead, she lost her memory. Who would have thought that just when she was starting to get used to her new life, she would get trapped in a whirlwind engagement? 

Out of all kinds of injustice fate could do to her, why did her fiancé have to be that white-haired pervert?! 

"You better not fall in love with me!" she snarled at the man grinning before her. 

Ji Xiehan's smile deepened. "Are you... kidding me? Why would I fall in love with you?" 

Li Lanni: "You better mark your words." 

The man grinned and helplessly shook his head, how could he fall in love with the woman he was already in love with? Taking up the challenge to crawl into her heart, Ji Xiehan promised himself to always treat her well and love her.

Skipping 7 years

In these years, Many things happen from me meeting with other future classmates to making money and setting up Lab etc.

When me, Denki, Mina and Eijiro enrolled in Ojiro Dojo things became little complicated. On my first day I made friends with Ojiro Mashahiro , Momo Yaoyorozu and Shouka Todoroki. yep shoto is girl this must be gift that ROB said in end. 


But things didn't play out how I thought as Momo and Shouka Started avoiding me don't even talk. so I also left them to themselves. After all they are two princesses. both being rich and all. If Momo is sexy one then Shouka is hot one with ice princess attitude.


Then I thought that's why they call her icy hot princess. Whatever anyway, Denki, Mina and Eijiro had there own group and didn't bother with other so I also joined in. 


Everything went well as I started to show progress in Martial Art , beating other in fight, also developing my own fighting style as I used < Complete Analysis > to full capacity.


While also training my Quirk with tablet and also learning everything from physics, biology, engineering, science and technology etc. Learned coding from basic 1and 0 to top program language even hacking.


I was expert in hacking as I created my own virus and protection. I even launched some apps like What's app, Facebook, instagram and Tik tok best version of everything.


I launched them under Techlight name that will be going to be the company name. I even hacked and created my own account for money. In month after starting I made 100,000 usd with apps usage only and my mangas are going great.


I also bought house in front of our house. Remade it with modern design with secret underground lab. House was fully equipped high tech. I always snuck out sneakingly and my stealth skill got improved to intermediate lvl after watching and analysing everything related to stealth and covet training.


I started upgrading with my Quirk as it got strong enough. I upgraded everything new house to lvl I could right that time. I made Super computer and also set up best Main server in N home and branch servers in My Company building. Yeah guys I bought 4 story tall building and named it Techlight.


After setting everything up I needed a man to be my front till I'm enrolled in UA. also I left Dojo when I was 8 years old as I mastered everything I could with < Complete Analysis >.


I even made AI named Oracle. My company business started to expand in many areas I even made some automatic production line. Business was booming. I also released two my favorite songs from past life never thought I had talent for singing. They were hit.


I finished every anime, manga and novels I could right then left them to Oracle to release them with once a week time automatically manage it. I even made 10 more songs as you know they were hit and most used in Tik tok videos. People really go wild with new things.


Right now I'm 11 years old and 4 years left till UA exam and start of Canon. my company brand expand a lot as you can find everything from cars to tech and everything with my brand. Now my company is big business even a month age I made into top 20 and now I'm billionaire.


Denki and others still same enjoying and also go to Dojo regularly. My and Denki appearance is same expect my hair and eyes color even our height is same 5'6 feet. we both have athletic body except my is more athletic Ninja type body as lean and compact muscle.


Right now I'm in lab underground of my N home planning my main projects as phase 1 of Money, Culture of Mangas & Novels, technology and Business is check & complete with flying colors and in coming year my company will be multi national.

Now onto main projects - Nanotechnology Armor ( same Iron man mark 50) , Body serum to surpass my human body limits and SSP project. These three are Main projects that I need to complete are first two as third can come later.

" Looks like now is time to show world my face as owner of Techlight company also Oracle be sure to record Denki and other my future classmates reaction " I said as I went for bath and rest.

I smiled and said best face " My name is Leo Kaminari, Owner of Techlight Corporation also inventor and scientist of every tech made by Company. As for hobbies include Making mangas and novels also my Favorite hobby is singing songs which also released by me and my company. and if you search for My songs and mangas name is already changed on internet as today to my hero name." ( previous it's Release name was owner of Techlight now Tech Lord)

" Wow! never have I thought those 11 songs were from you can I also ask for Autograph and from how much we know about mangas and other stuff they are also popular. So here is question how you got to succeed at teenage age while also what is your plans for future also if you like to give any info on your Quirk. that's is if you wish? " say reporter.

" Sure I give you Autograph as you asked me politely and about things you asked I can answer " I said then faced cameras. " My plan for future is to be Hero. Mangas and order stuff will continue if I had more ideas. As for my Quirk it's related to tech with limitations that I can not reveal." 

" Mr Kaminari can you tell as why hero from writer, singer, scientist, inventor and business man ? " asked me reporter.

" Well answer is simple as I wanna help anyone I can as for other jobs you counted they were just stepping stones hobbies because my main aim is to be a Hero as for my hero it will be Tech Lord." after saying and seeing disbelief from other people face I continue with high tone.

" Today I want to give a message to everyone else that ... there will be people who have weak quirk or don't have any.... and People will say that you can't be a Hero without a powerful Quirk.... and many think like that so.. I have message for those people....

FUCK YOU!! " at my everyone surprised but I continue.

" No matter how powerful a person is, if they don't have wisdom that person is just another rock on the road " .

" History has shown us that wisdom is greatest weapon that existed.... in the history of David and Goliath the giant losses were to David.. if someone think that because you don't have great power or do not have Quirk so you are not important..... then ignore it and do what a Hero would do.... Smile. "
