Nick was cultivating as suddenly the energy in his surroundings stopped moving towards him. 'It's time.', he thought, a smile surfacing on his face.
He slowly moved his consciousness inside of his body and concentrated on one of his dantians.
"Just a small info, do not lose consciousness.", Nicholas reminded nonchalantly.
Nick was confused by the remark but decided to ignore it. Regaining his concentration he began to concentrate energy near the core of his dantian, before striking it. Suddenly an unimaginable pain assaulted his entire being as he vomited a mouthful of blood. His vision went blurry for a second before he remembered Nicholas' words and clenched his teeth.
'FUCK! That was painful! I would have never imagined it to be this fucking painful!', Nick screamed in his mind as he regained his composure. Slowing his breath, Nick continued the breakthrough, concentrating energy again and striking his dantian.
Already being prepared for the pain, only his vision blurred before he regained composure. Afterward, he continued to strike it again and again, turning the insides of it to dust.
He didn't know how much time had passed but the pain of breaking the insides of one of his dantians has subsided but he still tried to break it down further to ensure he had done it thoroughly. After being sure, he began to model his foundation out of the remains of his dantian.
Slowly but surely he concentrated all the material in one spot and added all his energy slowly but surely. Suddenly the energy around him began moving as if it was naturally attracted to him. Faster and faster it rushed into his body, supporting the forming foundation and increasing the pull of energy exponentially.
Suddenly, a gigantic explosion of energy originated from Nick, spreading around the mountain. After a few minutes, the energy around Nick seemed to have returned to normal but was still being absorbed by him at a noticeable pace, even without Nick doing energy.
Nick opened his eyes as he felt energy constantly entering his body, but before he could feel excited deep black clouds started converging above him. The clouds seemed to emanate an eerie aura that screamed death.
Nicholas noticed this and instantly notified Nick of what is happening. "This is a Tribulation! Seems like the world does not want to allow you to have this foundation. You will have to fend it off! I can't interfere or it would only become more dangerous. Concentrate all of your energy inside of your body, and focus on sustaining yourself and fending off the rain of energy that will soon hit you."
Nick frowned but followed Nicholas' instructions as he reinforced his entire body with his Ki and Mana waiting for what was about to hit him.
The world was deathly silent.
Only the faint and slow breathing of Nick could be heard as he looked at the clouds.
The next second a bolt of blue lightning crashed into him in an instance. Nick grunted in pain but withstood it without any problems. Right after, the second lighting hit him and it was even stronger! "How many are there?", Nick asked right before the third lighting hit him making him fall onto one knee.
"Nine and the last one will double in strength!", Nicholas said with concern looking at the scene from within Nicks' soul.
Soon after the next one hit, and the next one, and then another one. Soon after, the eight lighting hit Nick as he was barely holding on. The immense pain from the energy unloading itself in his body blurred his vision as he stood up glaring up at the sky with anger. His legs were about to give out but he still stood there waiting for the last lighting.
'He... will die...', Nicholas thought as he gritted his teeth. Nick was about to lose consciousness, and if that happens he will surely die and even if not, he does not have enough energy to defend himself against the lighting.
'I can just watch.', Nicholas thought sighing. If they died here, it was okay! Even if they did, Nicks' soul would reincarnate soon and Nicholas would have regained a good chunk of energy already.
Suddenly, all the energy inside the clouds converged into a single point as sparks of lighting could be seen around it. The next second... it unloaded!
The gigantic bolt of lightning crashed down on Nick with unimaginable speed.
Suddenly, shortly before it hit Nick, a void black aura emerged from within him towards the lighting. Nick felt fear towards the aura that had just emerged.
'I-I... th-this? What is that?', Nicholas thought in terror looking at the aura. It was not chaotic, not good, not unpure, it was completely devoid of anything.
Now Nicholas finally understood.
It was not the seal, it was this that was keeping him confined for this long.
Because even if the best sealer of the God Realm tried to seal Nicholas, it would never hold as long as it did. It should have long broken, so there was something else confining him, and he has found the culprit.
'Can I even escape this thing?', he thought looking as the void devoured the lighting with great ferocity. Soon after the aura returned into Nicks' body as he lost consciousness.
"Not knowing can sometimes be a blessing, no? Little god?", asked a rough voice that seemed to surround Nicholas.
Nicholas woke up from his thoughts, as he looked around inside the soul of Nick. "Who, or better, what are you?", Nicholas asked his guard still highly up as he searched the soul for any signs.
"I am the void that fills it all, I am the past and the future. You all came from me and you will all return to me!", the void an uncountable number of eyes appeared from the black space around Nicholas he thought to be empty.
"The void... are you Chaos?", Nicholas asked trying to find the answer.
"No. Chaos could be called my daughter, she, like all else came from me. You could all be called my children, but in the end, you are only a part of me that has separated itself.", the void explained watching Nicholas.
"So, I am wondering now, void, why are you inside this soul?", Nicholas asked looking around himself.
Suddenly the entire void was filled with unbelievable pressure as Nicholas fell into a sort of panic attack, as his soul could no longer move.
It was fear!
Fear like never before!
He wanted this to end!
He wanted to run!
"That man, the one who came before her, sealed me within this soul in an attempt to stop me. And, he succeeded. He somehow managed to seal the highest entity in this reality within this small soul. It is laughable, to be honest, but I can't laugh. I want to see him suffer, I want to see him sealed while under immense pain and I want to destroy his every being. Sigh... but for that, I need power!", the void explained as the pressure disappeared.
"Anyway, I hope you understand not to inform our vessel about my existence, at least not yet. There is a time and a place for everything.", the void said as the eyes also disappeared. 
Nicholas' soul looked blankly into the void.
He was drained.
He was scared.
And he wanted nothing more than to escape right now.
But he couldn't.
He hugged his phantasmal knees as his consciousness faded and he fell into a slumber.

He had also considered using the convenience of magic to create the 'railgun' in advance; he could make use of the powerful magnetic field generated by wind-earth fusion runes to create the acceleration rail to launch the pellets, but he quickly realized that he was lacking an 'electric circuit control' that could respond fast enough to rapidly switch on and off each of the rune combinations. The traditional rune triggers were operated by mechanisms, and it was extremely hard for large quantities of rune combinations to conduct sequential switching on and off during the acceleration process of the pellet. Furthermore, to make a rune arrangement that was similar to the clock circuit… Regretfully, Gawain still didn't have any idea.
Due to the differences in the laws of physics, there were many of the Earth's impossible technologies that could be easily achieved in this world. But at the same time, there were many easily achieved things on Earth that were impossible in this world.
As for this world's traditional bows and crossbows, Gawain didn't think to conduct any magical modifications to them. In order to stuff the base plate into the protective shell and to leave a space for the rune trigger, the assembled 'heat-ray gun' was more than twice the size of ordinary vambraces. Its top part was bulging and had an ellipsoid shape, while there was an opening left at the front portion. Underneath the opening, there was a small section of the metallic protective plate that extended out, and the protective plate was actually the 'safety' device. Once it was tucked back inside, the flow of magic would be severed, and the user's hand would be able to move freely without causing the heat-ray gun to fire. Once the protective plate was pulled out, the heat-ray gun would enter an 'armed' state, and the user's hand would be restricted so that the hand couldn't turn around. This way, no one would be carelessly pierced by the scorching ray of light…
As it was an experimental product that was just assembled, its shape wasn't elegant, but Gawain was still rather excited as he equipped this unwieldy vambrace and adjusted the tightness.

Gawain pulled the trigger that was accompanied by a light pfff sound. A scorching ray of light shot out from the vambrace and struck the metal on the ground. Due to the magic, a small explosion caused the metal to tumble continuously, leaving behind a trail of sparks and metal shards.
When the metal stopped rolling, the surface of the metal was red, and a deep pit was melted into it.
"Then, we have 106 Grade-2 Beyonders who can execute Scorching Ray."


During Gawain transmigration, a little problem occurs.

But on the first glance, the mask seemed to be melting into the body, as if the mask seemed to be part of the body. 

While Elizabeth and the rest turned their attention towards the masked figure, Fraser began to move to the other corner and chose a couch for himself. 

Just as Fraser sat down he could hear a pitched shriek. Looking up he could see how Elizabeth and the others slowly backing away from the white mask figure. 

The four of them had a pale face and on Nicholas face a small trickle of sweat formed. 

Frightened or threatened by something unknown the white masked figure unleashed the group stepped back and chose a couch for their group. 

After choosing their couch the group whispered among themselves and clearly, the conversation topic was the figure with the white mask as they sneakily glanced towards the masked figures a few times. 

'So the first people I met at the Howling Abyss Academy are not fated to become friends with me. I should go and continue to meditate. Also, I need to plan my schedule for the paid lessons and create a few more basic explosion potions. My amount of magic crystals is easily spent as my best option to acquire knowledge is by attending those lessons which need a learning fee. After all, the AI can save the entire lesson and use it for the Database.' 

As Nicholas, Adrian, and Elise clearly chose the side of Elizabeth and ridiculed him, Fraser no longer saw them as potential allies or friends. After all, he already received a lot of information from them and acquired enough information in order for him to stand alone in the Howling Abyss Academy. 

Standing up Fraser walked towards the exit of the inner Chamber as his reason for coming to the chamber already got fulfilled. His reaction was normal for grade 3 talents or under and pushing the spirit outside of the body resulted in the reaction as well as the breakthrough to Apprentice Level 2. 

Just as he reached the door a deep voice stopped him: 
"If I were you then I wouldn't walk back towards your chamber. Let us talk." 

Fraser turned his head towards the masked figure and instead of trusting common sense which meant avoiding the masked figure he walked towards the figure and sat down on the same couch as the masked figure. 

'I believe the inner chamber act as a meeting place for his closest or most talented students. After all I don't see a single child younger than me which if I am right meant that me creating a basic explosion potion within a month impressed Magus Sept. So I don't think that the masked figure will kill and instead is one of the senior disciples of Magus Sept, even more, senior than Elise and Adrian which entered the Howling Abyss Academy in the same year.' 

"You achieved Apprentice Level 2? Congratulation." said the masked figure with his deep voice. 

As this time the masked figure didn't speak loud Fraser could see the group consisting of Adrian, Elise, Nicholas, and Elizabeth trying to hear the conversation. 

However, as they chose the couch in the other corner they probably couldn't hear it. So they tried to pretend as if they didn't try to focus on listening. 

With a simple "Thank you." Fraser answered the masked figure before waiting. 

"I am Emium, an older disciple of Mentor Sept. What is your name?" said the masked figure, still with a deep tone. 

"I am Fraser, a disciple of Mentor Sept who joined the Howling Abyss Academy one term ago." replied Fraser. 

"Who are these guys over there?" asked the masked man without even glancing at the group. 

"Why should I not go back to my chambers?" Fraser replied with a counter question. 

The masked figure named Emium remained silent for a while before saying: "Mentor Sept has guarding duty. We as his students has to go with him. Thus it wouldn't make sense to leave the inner chamber where the close students of Mentor Sept are gathering." 

Fraser copied Emium and remained silent for a while as well as if lingering the information for a while before digesting it. 

"They are Elise, Adrian, Nicholas, and Elizabeth. Elise and Adrian are senior disciples of Mentor Sept and Elizabeth joined this term." 

Without even glancing at the group Emium remained silent and then turned his head towards another direction, effectively ignoring Fraser. 

As the group realized that the conversation was pretty short they continued to whisper, but this time also peeking at Fraser while they whispered. 

Time passed and soon the door opened once again. 

Of course, Fraser and the group looked at the newcomers and remembered their forms. However, Emium simply continued to stare into space. 

The newcomers were two women, one had blond hair and resembled one of those fantasy wood elves which were from tales. However, in Frasers memory, the woman looked like the typical wood elf. Blond hair, leather armor from beast skins, white and smooth skin, a bow strapped over her back and most importantly: a beauty. 

The other woman looked like one of those bodybuilders, large muscles, large legs, tall, fearsome face expression and revealing clothes which showed her bulging muscles. Strapped on her back was a large two-headed ax. 

While the two walked into the chamber they talked about something but stopped as soon as they saw the gazes directed at them. Silently the two chose a couch and sat down. The wood elf woman started to polish her wooden bow with an unknown tincture while the muscular woman started to sharpen her two-headed ax causing tiny sparks to fly from the whetstone. 

However the two women didn't neglect their surroundings, they would also glance at Fraser and Emium as well as Nicholas, Adrian, Elise and Elizabeth. 

Apparently they found Fraser to be more interesting and thus stared at him way more often than they would stare at the other students in the room. 

Quickly more and more weird looking figures started entering the chamber and taking couches. 

Most of them were concealed like Emium and only a few revealed themselves, including the wood elf women, muscular woman, a muscular man who after greeting the muscular woman with "big sister" obviously was related to the muscular woman and a few other students yet Fraser only saved their Appearance with the AI and didn't look at them now as Magus Sept arrived and walked into the middle of the room.

Someone transmigrated into the body of a noble that was on his way to become a Magi. His only keepsake, an AI-Chip that had the ability to calculate and store information. Thus, follow the journey of Fraser Rosethorn.

Next morning I woke up early. I walked in the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror.

I feel so relaxed today. last night I sleep comfortably. I didn't cry myself to sleep. I washed my face and nodded to myself.

I took shower and wear black jeans and white top. I tie my hair in a high ponytail. I didn't wear makeup. I don't feel like to colour my face. I looked at myself for the last time in the mirror then come out of the room.


Sunny's waiting for me outside. she's smiling. I hugged her tightly. I really need it right now.

she asked me -"  Are you ready."


I take a deep breath and nodded.


she pat my shoulder and said -" Go and killed it girl."


" Actually yeah... I should kill him."


we both laughed. she said -" first kill his small pennies."


I laughed hard and said -" I think about it..... bye.."


we both hugged each other. I came to the door then she said -"  Best of luck."


I turned and smiled and said -" I really need it." then left.

I hired a cab and went to the Nicholas's house. I was feeling nervous. How am l going to react when I saw him. I can't be weak in front of him. I don't want to cry in front of him and show him how weak I am.

And there will be mom, grandma and Kim. What will they say. What am I going to say when they asked me about my disappearance these past few days. How will they react about my decision.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize that the cab was stopped in front the huge gate. I paid the driver and came out of the cab.

I looked at the beautiful palace like home. Few days ago, I called this home as my home. But its not and its never will be mine. 

I came inside easily. Guards didn't stopped me to enter inside. I looked everywhere and specially at the garden because its my last chance to see all this. 

 I looked at the pond and besides it the bench. I remembered the moment I spent with Nicholas...we were still strangers to each other but there's some sparks in between us. I always want to spend my time him.

That night I was waiting for him. He came late from his office. He came to me and set besides me. We set like this for a few moments then he laid his head in my laps. we stayed like this. Its really beautiful moment.

then I remembered the night where he crushed my heart.... I snapped out and shook my head.

....no Alexa you can't be weak ....not right now.... I have to be strong... I am a strong woman.....

I clear my mind and walked to front main door. I take sharp breath then knocked on the door. House Butler opened the door and wide his eyes to saw me. I ignored it and came inside.

I stopped in the living room. Everyone were at the dining room. Kim was the one to saw me.

she called my name surprisingly -" ..Alexa..."

Everyone looked at me at the same time. They all were shocked. Mom was the first to come towards me and engulfed me in her arms.

she asked me -" oh Alexa..... where have you been this whole time. we are really worried for you and Nicholas didn't answer us."

I smiled to see her. Kim also hugged me. Then grandma pulled me in a bone crushing hug. I don't know what to say. They were so sweet with me. I stayed silent. 


The one I come here to meet was staring at me from the top of the stairs. He come downstairs in few big strides and stand in front of me. He's looking at me with his boring expressionless face.

I looked at him with challenge in my eyes. I held my head high. 

He said in a stern voice -" what are you doing in my house..."

I raised my hand and stopped him and said mockingly -" Oh please I am not come here to taking this shit. I had enough of you."

Everyone was looking at us confusingly.

I said again with a strong voice -" I want DIVORCE."

I am Alexa . I am very fun loving girl and when I went to my home my life changed . 

My dad borrowed huge loan from Mr. Danny and there was time limit . If my dad didn't payback the debt so there will be consequences and my dad didn't payback on time.

Mr. Danny he is old man , he is married and he wants me . I am the consequences he refers. But my dad didn't agree to his terms so he threaten my dad and in the end my dad agree to his terms here I am crossing the aisle towards my forced husband to be. And there's come the twist , when father says you may kiss the bride and my forced husband drag up my veil and I open my eyes there is someone else and now he is my husband

My husband he is tall , smart , have broad shoulders and his eyes are mesmerizing and his face like he never smile in his whole life.

Now my after marriage life started like this.

The moment the Chosen were gone I lunged through the wards and reached out my mind even as my demon lashed out against the vampires in my yard.
Quaid!
He didn't answer. He didn't have to. The fury in his mind was all I needed to feel.
Demon fire enveloped three of the vamps, sending them scurrying with inhuman squeals of agony. Nicolas spun on me, a vicious smile on his face and lashed out, a flash of white power reaching for me, trying to penetrate my body.
I countered with more demon fire, melting his cold magic with a roar of sound.
They were all around me, hedging me in. It was stupid, probably the stupidest thing I'd ever done and my mom and dad would kill me when they found out. But seeing Dad being torn away like that was more than I could bear.
Now I stood, my demon's power wrapped around me, encircled by vampires. "Don't worry," Nicholas hissed. "I have no intention of killing you. I want your power too badly for that."
"Come and get it," I said with more conviction than I felt.
"He's too afraid." Sunny stood beside me, glowing like a small, white star. That was a relief. Whatever the Chosen did to her didn't hurt her as much as I feared. "Aren't you, Nicholas?"
He snarled at her, but it only made her laugh. "He needs you, your power. To break free of the hold the Chosen have on him. Isn't that right, darling?" Her voice dripped honey. "I thought there was something different about you. Muted. I thought it was brought on by time. But I was wrong." She literally beamed a smile, so bright I had to look away. "You fool, Nicki. You let yourself be taken."
He howled into the night. The part of me still worried about normal stuff was terrified what the neighbors would think. But their houses stayed dark, lights out. Maybe Nicholas was smart enough to keep what we were doing hidden.
"I will drain you," Nicholas said to me, "and use your demon power to destroy this hold they have on me. And then I will seize your mother and father, your sister and grandmother, and do the same to them. And I will be the most powerful being."
"How did they trick you?" Sunny went on as if they were actually having a conversation and he hadn't just threatened my entire family. "Did he offer you more power, Nicki? More followers? What could possibly convince you to trust the Chosen?"
"He told me he could kill Sebastian!" Nicholas's cheeks flushed, a sign of high agitation for a vampire. His eyes stood out of his head, whole body tight and trembling as he screamed at Sunny. "He swore he would!"
She sighed and shook her head as if he was a misled child. "Oh, Nicki," she said.
Nicholas went ballistic. I felt his power thrash at me, but it had no direction, no focus, almost as if he was just tossing magic around without being able to control it. I slammed my demon fire into him, sending him back two steps, cursing and snarling.
"Take them both." Nicholas stood back, letting his people crowd closer. "I want the girl alive. Kill the traitor."
I glanced at Sunny. She looked very calm. That was a good thing, right?
"You can try," she said. Definitely a good thing.
I could feel the power building around us, the cold of the vampire magic sending a chill all the way to my bones. I'd never been the center of so much of their energy before and I finally knew what dying would feel like.
The Chosen attack has weakened me. Sunny's mind reached mine. His touch somehow had the same feeling as the sun. I'm not sure how long I will last, Syd, but I'm here with you until the end.
Great. But she was right to tell me. I tightened my shields as much as I could and drew from the power buried in the property, trembling from the effort it took to hold myself back. I offered her a sliver of the energy and felt her thanks in response. I wasn't sure if she would be able to use it or not, our magic was so different, but her glow grew even more so I figured she found a way.
Still, with it just being the two of us and her injured, there was no way I would win if I tried to fight. My only hope was to hold them off long enough for Quaid to summon the family.
My demon had other ideas. Before I knew she was acting and without the control to stop her, she lashed out with everything she had, slicing through the pack with a wave of power strong enough to knock half of them over.
Trouble was, when it was over I was on my knees, almost spent. Sunny crouched next to me, but didn't touch me, her own power still at full strength.
"Syd," she whispered. "I'll protect you for as long as I can."
She was up again and I was vaguely aware of the battle going on around me.
Stupid! I shouted at my demon. We could have held for a long time.
I'm tired of not acting, she grumbled, though there was an edge of regret to her voice.
Great, I shot back at her. Your needs are a priority over us surviving. Fabulous.
She just growled at the sarcasm and settled into a sullen silence.
Meanwhile, my strength slowly returned. I made it to my feet just as a bolt of white fire leapt at me. I tried to duck, felt my mortality like a sharp jab through my heart and knew the moment it touched me I was dead.
Sunny's body was in front of me, curved backward as she took the blow. I felt the last of her energy leave her in a protective outpour, the white magic cascading around me in a fall of star like sparks. I caught her in my arms as the visible glow of her power, badly drained by the Chosen, flickered and faded. I checked out the carnage we'd made and realized there were only a handful or so vampires still in any shape to attack us.
Unfortunately, one of them was Nicholas and he was still fresh.
He crossed the line of his people, some half ash and groaning, the line of cinders crawling higher. I couldn't watch those, wished I could close my nose to the smell of burning dust. My demon did that.
Sunny's victims weren't much better off. We'd taken a large slice out of his network in this fight, but it still wasn't enough.
I let myself crumple to the ground, still holding Sunny. She seemed dazed, but okay, at least physically. Nicholas came to stand over me, his dark eyes laughing at me.
"Well done," he said. "But not good enough."
My demon gathered herself for one last assault.
"Maybe you'd like to try me on."
Quaid. My head swiveled around, eyes turning up. He stood in the doorway of the house. Alone. What? Where was the coven?
The idiot was going to get himself killed.
Nicholas scowled at Quaid. "Be gone, mortal witch," he said. "I have no need of your magic." A shot of white power leapt toward Quaid. I tried to block it, did my absolute best, but my demon and I were just too weak after that stunt she pulled.
The bolt headed right for Quaid's chest. And disintegrated under a sheet of demon fire.
Sassy snuck across the threshold between Quaid's legs and protected him. My heart surged. I had to help them. I pulled myself to my feet again, leaving Sunny on the ground. Nicholas hissed at Quaid and Sassy while I summoned what little power I had left.
"Nicholas," I said. He turned to face me. "You suck." I slammed my fist into his chest, putting that little thread of power behind it. A spark of demon fire formed between us, fed by a blue matrix of the family energy. I felt the divide between me and my demon suddenly widen, as if the crack was forced apart by the power in the magic.
The combined power drove Nicholas backward thirty feet and into the trunk of a big maple. He hit so hard the tree shuddered and partially uprooted.
The amazed look he gave me was full of fear.
Nicholas ran.
Quaid was beside me while I slowly crumpled again. "Syd," he said, catching me and helping me to the ground. "That was awesome."
I didn't know I had it in me. He was right, it was amazing. But horrible at the same time. I reached for my demon only to find it harder to reach her.
No time for that now. "We have to find Mom and Dad."
Sunny groaned and sat up while Sassy roamed the yard, disposing of the last of the vampires. I shuddered and looked away from what he was doing as demon fire crept everywhere.
"Syd," Sunny whispered, "I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."
Another blamer?
She shuddered and shook her head as if to clear it. "If I hadn't tried to do this alone, rather than asking for help, none of this would have happened." Her gaze found mine. "I knew he was still connected to me. He created me, a bond that cannot be broken. But I didn't know he was still embedded in my mind after all those years." She choked a bitter laugh. "This arrangement does have benefits, however."
"What do you mean?" I pulled away from Quaid.
"He may be in my mind," she said, "but that goes both ways." She climbed to her feet, some of her grace gone with her weariness. Quaid steadied us both as Sassy came to join us. "I know where they are going."
The funny thing was, I did too. "The site."
She nodded. "Of course."
"We have to go." I turned to Quaid. "Did you contact the family?"
He shook his head. "Not yet," he said as his cheeks flushed and his eyes dropped from mine. Quaid? Embarrassed? "I was so worried about you I just..."
Sweet. But stupid. It takes two seconds to call the family. I guess I understood. Quaid wasn't used to trusting anyone else. Still. Idiot. I reached for Erica even as Sunny took a step away.
"I need to find Frank and Anastasia," she said. "This ends tonight."
My mind flickered to Sebastian and, for a moment, I considered telling her about him. But I held back. She admitted Nicholas was still in her mind. I just couldn't risk it. If Nicholas knew Sebastian was hunting him, he might run and we'd lose our chance to save Mom.
Sorry, Sunny.
Erica's mind was so strong in my raw one I almost cried out.
Syd, what's wrong?
I sent her a shot of the site. They have Mom and Dad. I followed that up with a quick run of images of what just happened. By the time I was done I wanted to cry from the pain.
On our way.
She was gone. I turned to Quaid. "We have to go too."
It was Sassy who stopped me before I went anywhere.
"You're hurt and drained," he said. "You can't go."
I shrugged as Quaid reached for me. His magic felt lovely, but he was frowning.
"I don't have a choice."
Sassy trembled with the need to stop me. "I can't lose the three of you."
I bent and picked him up, hugged him. He sent me a thread of power, healing the pain in my mind. While I was still weak, at least I could think straight without flinching.
"I need you to stay here," I said. "To protect Meira and Gram."
He was already shaking his head, but the moment I mentioned my sister and grandmother he sighed. "That's not fair."
"I know," I said. "But if anyone can protect them, it's you."
Sassy's amber eyes met mine for a long moment. "Be safe," he said.

My name is Edeline, I know it sounds so old fashioned, but i love it.

My mother used to love Jane Austen and she's the one who made me fall in love with her books.

She loved old fashioned stuff and that's where my name came from.

When my parents got married, my mother re-decorated her room just to make her writing desk set in front of the window. 

She kept all of her Jane Austen books on that desk.
She always told me if anything happened to her, I would keep the books. 
I never understood her love for the books, but when I grew up reading them, I knew.

Jane's life was not easy. Everyone around her wanted her to marry the man her parents told her to marry, and Jane always wanted to be an independent woman, and she achieved that by writing books.

My mother's life was similar to that.
My grandparents made her marry my father, while she was in love with another man.

Another man that never stopped loving her, but had to let her go.

They always say, "if you love them, let them go", I've always had curiosity of how he looked like, but my mom burned the pictures because they held her back, she said.

I could never tell if what's between mom and dad is true love or not. Maybe they just have to love each other. I guess that's how marriage works?!!

Everytime I asked my dad, he would say, "your mother was young and she did not know what's best for her".

My mom decided to leave to North Carolina to sell my grandparents house. I didn't know why. It was a beautiful house that had a huge garden and a small lake out front.

My dad didn't want her to go by herself, because he was so overprotective. 
I hate that about him...

But she was stubborn and decided to leave anyway.

She left and never came back...

Para naman sa isang may edad nang radio host, na may napapanot nang bunbunan at malalalim na mga mata, ito ay panahon na naman ng pakikibaka sa mataas na temperatura at umaasang hindi ma stroke. Ang kanyang puting buhok at kulubot nang balat ay ebidensya ng mga nag daang taon na ginugol sa pang aaliw ng mga nakikinig sa kanyang radio show. Masaya ang trabahong iyon para sa kanya, higit na nakakapagpa pagaan ng loob ang abalang buhay bago pa niya malaman na oras na niya. Masinsinan niyang inaayos ang script at naghahanda para sa kanyang evening radio talk show. Masaya siya dahil sa pamoso ang bisita niya para mamayang gabi. Inayos niya ang mga papel na nakalat sa ibabaw ng kanyang mesa at itinabi sa gilid ng mesa. May kinuha siya sa loob ng drawer niya at isinalang iyon sa portable player. Radio host: Tonight, we have a special guest who conquered Southeast Asia with her very inspiring novel. Ladies and gentlemen please all welcome, Janna Dominguez, a.k.a Scarlet Love. 
Janna: Thank you for inviting me again here on your radio show. It's been a while. The last time I was here I was pregnant with my first child then.
Radio host: Oh, well, my pleasure. You are always welcome here. For the regular listeners, you all know that she was an avid listener of mine ever since. So, how's your little girl?
Janna: She's fine. Thanks for asking. She's doing great. She's now three years old. My son is turning one this year.
Radio host: Oh yeah, you had a son. Congratulations. That's good to hear. Your children are doing well, I see. So, as you know, the reason why you are invited again is because of your successful debut novel. "Hidden Regrets". Some of the listeners, they've been bugging me nonstop, and they're really a persistent bunch, loved to hear from you. The first time you are here, you are just a newcomer who was eager to introduce your work. And now, you already have the best selling novel. How exciting was that?
Janna: (tumawa) Yeah. I felt overwhelmed with all the attention. Now I know the feeling when they say you got everyone's attention now. Of course, it was a very happy moment for me. Finally, I have something to be proud of as a writer.
Radio host: Well, it is evident with your smile tonight. Well, some of my listeners want to know a thing or two about your best-selling novel.
Janna: Well, I'm looking forward to this night. And I'm taking this opportunity to thank all the people who appreciate and loved my novel and thought that my novel inspired them. Thank you all!
Radio host: I know they really appreciate you being here and I on the other hand; I'm looking forward to meeting you again, So, tell us about this phenomenal novel of yours. Your first novel.
Janna: Yeah, my first.
Radio host. Your very first novel. So, tell me, who or what inspire you to write this kind of novel?
Janna: You know what, I can never thank you enough for letting me guest here tonight. I just want to clarify that the main character in the novel is not based on my best friend's life. No, it was not. The girl in the novel was a random individual who wished for a better life and then later regrets what she took for granted and thrown away when she thought the time to live a splendid life came along. My best friend was the one who encouraged me to put my thoughts into writing about this story, the protagonist who was Andrea Santiago was not just a fictional character but she can be anyone who
has taken the journey and fought challenges that have come along, not all struggles can end up smoothly, but rather it taught us how to learn from it.
Radio host: Very well said. I know what you mean about your main character, I also read a rumour saying that you based it off your best friend's life. It was good to hear that Andrea Santiago is just anyone of us, no one is cruel enough and no one should point a finger without knowing the whole story. Nobody's perfect. Now, before we continue on, a lot of my listeners were your new fans and wanted to know a thing or two behind your pen name Scarlet Love. Tell us something about it.
Janna: I love red. It was one of those very ordinary colours but it never goes out of style. It represents impulsiveness, danger, warning and most of all it represents love. It is a bit contradictory if I must say. It was like, you know the pain but you still go on. It's kind of being a masochist. But then we are all bound in the spell of love. Before, I was a nobody's girl... To give love and be surprised by what love can do in our daily life... You know it will hurt, you know it is dangerous but you still go and give it a try. So, basically, it was like my pen name is a sort of warning.
Radio host: (natawa). Wow. I don't know, for a bit I thought you will go on being serious on me, I was taken aback for a sec, you got me there, huh.

Radio host: Well, I see. So, moving forward. The main message of your book is not to dwell too much on regret and focus on what will make you happy. So, tell me, for you, what is Happiness?
Janna: For me, Happiness is like knowing how to smile every day. Life is hard, but you can't just stop midway, they always say that you need to live life to the fullest. Happiness is being able to give and appreciate your life every single day. Learning to love yourself and your flaws is happiness itself. If you are contented then you're happy.
Radio host: True enough, being a mother and a writer at the same time, does it make your life a bit harder now that you are famous.?
Janna: No. It is still the same. I'm still the proud momma who watched them grow and take time to write when I find some time in the evening after I put them to sleep.
Radio host: I'm glad you don't take it too much that you are now famous and you easily brag about that. You are still humble.
Janna: Thanks. Thanks.
Radio host: Let's go back to your book. The fact that your book is really fun to read. It has the element of surprise, it was not like a typical story with a twist and turn, neither a cheesy and melodramatic plot. I've read it twice now.
Janna: Wow. Well, I'm just like you with reading books. If it caught my attention I won't move on to another book, I will savour that feeling first and then wait for it to fade a little. I think there's something nostalgic whenever we reach the last page...

Radio host: It has a very satisfying ending. Not all tragic love ends up unbearable and yours was one of those few, brilliant stories. It's so hypnotic and so dream-like yet it stuck to reality.
Janna: You know how much I love the truth about life that everything's not easy and you needed redemption from hate, vanity and all worldly kinds of stuff. Honestly, I experienced all of that. But at the end of the day, the bottom line is we know we are wrong and we asked for forgiveness.
Radio host: Ah... That was great to hear from you. Your novel taught us to learn how to accept things the way they are, that whatever you do there are consequences later on. Now, let's talk about the reviews of your book. Some of our readers compare it to Nicholas Sparks' type of novel. What do you say?
Janna: (tumikhim). Looks like I got a lot of explaining to do. I won't blame my readers if they thought that way. But believe me, it does not have any similarity. Nicholas Sparks writes a tear-jerker story. Mine tackles the consciousness of a human being who lived her life out of selfishness but find redemption at the end. And that's all that matters to her. It was not dramatic, I don't like dramatic stories...
Radio host: What was your initial reaction when after one year that you released your book it became phenomenal?
Janna: I heard my book was doing good abroad, but I never thought it will be this good, to be honest, I was not shocked. Let me tell you a story. There's this good friend of mine, her name is Sunny. And she's about to get married this weekend to my editor. Hello, editor, he's listening right now.
Radio host: Oh, wow. Good evening sir. What is your editor's name
Janna: Mark John Ignacio.
Radio host: Hello, good evening Mr Ignacio, hope you're enjoying the show.
Janna: Last, last month she went on a vacation in Singapore. She visited a bookstore and saw my book, she then later called me and told me this. I'm not shocked because the transition from books being sold outside the country is regularly reported to me by my editor, the sales and whatnot. So, I'm well informed. It's just that the media made a big fuss about it.
