James Crosby wasn't an athlete, a scholar or even a guy with any real achievements under his belt. He just really enjoyed comic books. After he graduated from high school he only worked to fuel his comic book buying habits. Every six months his moment to shine came at the big comic book convention that came to town. He was a wizard at finding bargains and predicting the next big comic books to collect. Many of the shop owners would seek him out for his opinions at the shows. Other collectors even started to take an interest in what he was buying in order to sniff potential winners. That's why it wasn't surprising when in a dark corner of the winter comic convention a completely unknown new comic startup with a single title desperately waved him over to have a look. 

James smirked at the comic. He picked it up and started to flip through the pages. In a haughty voice, he commented, "The cover isn't bold enough to draw attention, the splash page was boring and the action is bogged down by the simplicity of the villains. Your heroes are too weak to protect the people, it makes them seem less like heroes and more like regular people trying to fight crime."

The man running the booth frowned and then said, "But the idea was that it was a world that would evolve over time. The heroes would grow stronger as the villains adapted to them."

James shook his head and frowned, "I don't know man, I'm sorry but I think you started this out too slow. The art is pretty good, and the story seems decent enough, but it needs a bigger start to really draw enough attention to blow up. I might check in again once you build the world up. It's just not one I'd follow as it is." 

The man running the booth said, "Alright, I thank you for taking the time to look. I'll take your ideas and run with them, take that book on me as payment for helping me make a better story."

James smiled and said, "I will, maybe at the next con, you'll have the book that really shocks the con."

After hearing James slam the book, most of the big time collectors completely ignored the man's booth. He only managed to sell a couple of his books as a result. The man seemed to stare daggers into James all day any time he passed by. 

James managed to buy a few dozen books at a decent price and felt as if he had won the lottery as he looked through his new found treasures. He stood at a friend's comic book booth and started to talk up what he found. "Look, dude, I got a copy of X-men number two sixty-six out of a guy's twenty-five cent box in mint! Not only that, I found a second print copy of TMNT for two hundred and fifty that's at least high mint. The guy was just trying to cover his cost for attending the show and took half of what he was asking originally."

His friend Matt was a tall lanky man with sunken cheeks. He had a slight belly and wore a Wolverine t-shirt and khaki pants. He blinked his eyes and said in a shocked nasal toned voice, "Two-fifty! I'll give you five hundred right now if you'll let it go, I can put that up in my shop for eight at least!"

James looked at his friend for a few long seconds and then nodded and smiled, "Alright, Matt, you got it. But throw in a copy of Batman number six oh nine and you got a deal!" 

Matt raised an eyebrow and then asked, "You know something about that issue you aren't telling me, dude? It's not a high-value comic."

James just shrugged and said, "Just liked the cover."

Matt frowned and then traded books with James and grumbled, "Every time we do deal I feel like you are ripping me off, even though I am supposed to be the one ripping you off."

James laughed and then gave a wave as he took the money and his bag of treasures and made his way to the exit. He was leaving with the same amount of money he walked in with and a bag of comics that left a huge grin on his face. He felt like he was the king of the world as walked past a line of people dressed as their favorite superheroes. James shook his head at them. He always found the costumes to be wrong somehow like they were trying too hard to match the look of the comic instead of the idea behind the suits. His mind began to wander as he imagined how he would make a super costume if he was a hero. 

James got into his car, a peach-colored 1982 AMC Eagle station wagon that was too ugly for words. The floors of his car were littered with fast food trash and empty soda cans. He set his new comic book treasures on the passenger seat that almost never saw a body occupying it. James made the short trip from the convention center to his studio apartment in record time. He was too excited for words as he managed to grab two comics that would fill gaps in his collection basically for free thanks to his wheeling and dealing. Walking into his apartment all that could be seen were rows of stacked white comic book boxes. On another wall was an array of Batman comic books with a single hole in the middle which James walked over and thumb tacked the new book into the hole with a satisfied sigh. 

James laid down on his bed and picked up the new books he bought and then for some reason the book he had been given for free grabbed his attention. He decided to give the story a proper read now that he wasn't distracted. Aside from the things he brought up at the show he felt like the story was somehow more compelling than he thought at the time he skimmed it at the show. It was a story about people who woke up to find that they could level themselves up by doing things. The idea was that each time they completed an action they would notice a small number pop up in the corner of their vision. After a while, they would start to notice that their skills and abilities were growing fast. Eventually turning them into what could only be described as a superhero.

James snorted in disbelief and then shook his head. He thought about all of the superheroes he followed, most of them either had genius intellects or teachers who trained them to be superior warriors. They weren't just regular people. He thought of what it would be like for him to have that kind of ability. He shook his head and laughed, saying out loud, "If I had a system like that I wouldn't stick my fucking neck out to help people that's just bat shit crazy."

James couldn't get the idea out of his head, it was running through his mind like a virus. He just wanted to sleep but it was killing him that the comic he read was so flawed he didn't know exactly what the flaw was so he kept rethinking it over and over. It wasn't the skill itself, it was the motivation. Just having skill and ability wouldn't motivate a hero. He thought of Batman and how his parents were killed causing him to seek vengeance. Or how Spider-man had to see his Uncle killed to motivate him. The Punisher lost his family. The mutants from the X-Men were all trying to save their kind from extinction and build up a good impression from regular people. Superman lost his entire planet. The characters in this comic book he was given were just regular people who had no motivation to be more than who they were. 

James eventually drifted off to sleep. A voice in the blackness spoke softly, "Initiating transformation. Power system loaded. Experience system loaded. Character creation successful. Motivation system progress 1%. Starting wake-up mode in ten, nine, eight, seven. The voice grew softer and softer until James saw daylight once again. He shook his head and thought, "What an odd dream." He yawned and stretched out he swiftly turned his head as he thought he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. A small red number "+1" hung in the corner of his vision for a split second. He shook his head again only to see another "+1" drift off. He moved his arm wildly and another "+1" appeared. That was when he noticed something off about his apartment. The comic books on the wall had changed. The familiar names were gone and replaced with names that similar yet different.

He shouted out, "Alright real funny, I don't know which of you it is, but I want my real collection back and if I find even a single damaged book you are getting sued!" 

Once again a "+1" popped up in the corner of his eye.

James shook his head and frowned, he checked the time and knew it was time to get to work, he didn't have time to play around with the jokesters. He quickly showered and dressed in his uniform and then sped off to work. The little "+1" that kept popping up was very annoying to James, but he did his best to ignore it. When he got to work he felt something was off as the name of the restaurant on the sign was spelled oddly. He looked up and frowned, "Burger Kang? Is this part of the joke?" He looked across the street and noticed that the place across from them had a different sign as well. He blinked and rubbed his eyes and asked, "MacRonalds?" 

He walked inside starting to feel confused. He recognized all of his coworkers but the menu boards were all changed subtly so that at first glance it was normal but things were just slightly named differently. Instead of a whopper they now sold a whapper. He noticed a newspaper no longer said New York Times, instead, it had New City Times written at the top of the page, he grabbed one of his coworkers and asked, "Dude, is it just me or does this place look different today?"

His coworker laughed and said, "Yeah man, those graveyard shift bastards didn't mop, Ralphie threw a fit this morning. You got mop duty bro, wouldn't slack it off today. He's in that kind of mood." 

James grabbed the mop and started to do his job. He noticed that as he worked his level of skill with mopping rapidly improved to the point that the floors looked like they were being professionally cleaned. The manager came out of his office and stared in amazement as James mopped effortlessly but cleaned the floors back to a new like appearance. He grinned broadly and said, "Great work Jimmy. Thanks for busting ass on these floors. The rest of you bums should take your example from Jimmy."

Everyone stared daggers at James who could only smile and shrug. It went like that all day, anything he worked on would become incredibly easy to him if he did it long enough. All the time the "+1" would appear. By the time he was done with his shift, his coworkers were no longer speaking to him because he had raised the bar for every job in the restaurant to the point they felt like they could no longer meet expectations. Even Ralphie the manager started to feel insecure about his position. 

James went to start his car and of course, it wouldn't start. He popped the hood and climbed out hoping he could figure out what was wrong with it. When he opened the hood he was shocked to find the entire motor missing. It was as if it had been completely torn out. He spun around looking in all directions as his heart pounded, he suddenly felt very unsafe. He thought about his work today and decided to try running home, maybe he would get better at running if he did that. 

James ran as if someone was chasing him, and just like with his work today he slowly improved at running until it was effortless for him. He managed to run the four miles back to his house in half an hour. For a guy who hadn't done any running in years, he felt like he had accomplished an impossible feat. In fact, he knew for certain that was the furthest he had ever run and when he got home he felt the same way he did at the end of his workday. Slightly tired but still capable of doing more. He looked across the street at the twenty-four-hour gym and decided to find out if the thought scratching at the back of his head was real. 

After he went home and changed, he walked over to the gym and then up to the counter and asked the girl there, "Hi, I was wondering what it costs to get a membership here?" 

The girl smiled happily and said, "Well, why don't you try out the gym first and see if it's what you need. After you work out, we can talk about our membership plans." 

He smirked and nodded, "Thank you, I think I will." He walked inside and started doing a circuit through the gym. Just as he thought each machine became easier and easier the more he exercised on it. He looked in the mirror and noticed that his body was slowly but visibly changing. When he walked into the gym he was still the same skin and bones scrawny looking man that he had been since he graduated from high school years earlier. But just an hour in the gym and he already had started to appear like someone who had been working out for years. James stared in disbelief at the image in the mirror. He looked down at his arms and could see defined musculature. He looked at the machines and suddenly found himself obsessed with them. He would use each machine until he was at its maximum weight and then move to the next. By the time he completed a full circuit of the gym he looked like a bodybuilder. He was staring in awe at the image of himself in the mirror, his clothes were stretched to the point of nearly ripping. He noticed that the sun was starting to come up and realized he had spent the entire night at the gym.

When he walked up to the counter the same girl was yawning and stretching while saying to another girl, "I had a skinny guy come in last night I haven't seen him leave yet, I hope he didn't hurt himself."

He walked up in front of her and said, "Hi, I tried out the gym here, it was ok, but I think I need a gym with more weights. Thank you for the trial though." 

She looked at him like it was the first time she had seen him and asked, "I'm sorry, but did we already speak? I don't recall when you came in." 

He chuckled and said, "Skinny guy that you were worried would hurt himself." 

She stared in disbelief as he walked out. The girl next to her snorted derisively and said, "Girl you need to lower your standards. Not every guy can be as big as a powerlifter. That guy was totally ripped."

James walked to his apartment and sat down on his bed. He suddenly felt his adrenaline kick in as he searched for the comic book he picked up at the con. He found it and immediately opened it only to find that the pages were all blank. The picture on the cover changed to a picture of himself lifting weights and growing stronger. The splash page changed to a picture of him mopping at Burger Kang. The next page showed him running after finding that his car had been sabotaged. Then it was him lifting weights in the gym rapidly building his body by doing each exercise. He stammered and said, "Fuck this, I am not a hero, I have no motivation to be a hero!"

He tossed the comic off his bed and collapsed back on it with a sigh. Maybe he could call in sick, he only had four hours until it was time to work again and he still hadn't slept. He closed his eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep.

The story of a Comic Book Collector who is brought to a world where he finds out that he is one of the special people who can earn experience and level up to become a superhero.

Tong Lele shook his head and sang-song.
Then he held Tong Jiumo's face in his small hands and said while kissing her face continuously, "One kiss is not enough…"
Tong Jiumo pinched Tong Lele's cheeks and said softly, "Alright, mommy asked Auntie Sophie to get you the Mo City International Primary School's index so you will have to prepare for tomorrow's entrance examination."
"A piece of cake, I will ace it easily," said Tong Lele confidently.
"Just because you are smart, you are becoming cocky!" Tong Jiumo pinched Tong Lele's nose.
"Aiyo! Mommy, don't pinch my nose, you will flatten it!" Tong Lele complained in a soft voice.
He remembered that Mo Lisi's nose was sharper than his by a whole lot!
It must be because Mommy pinched it too many times that his nose had become so flat!
Aw man!
He actually lost to Mo Lisi due to his mother's pair of hands.
No matter what, Tong Lele must never allow his mother to pinch his nose anymore!
"You are still so young, and yet you care so much about your appearance. In this world, nobody is more handsome than my son."
After Tong Jiumo said her piece, she returned to her room and took a school bag. She then gave it to Tong Lele. "This is the present mommy prepared for you to prepare you for school."
"Wow, this is my favorite Batman!" Tong Lele saw his favorite comic character and immediately carried the bag on his bag excitedly.
"Mommy, do you know why Batman is my favorite character?"
"Because he is a hero?" Tong Jiumo guessed.
"Nope." Tong Lele shook his head.
"What did you see in him then? He doesn't have any abilities," said Tong Jiumo.
"No, I just like Batman's special abilities." Tong Lele shook his head.
"What kind of ability does Batman have?" Tong Jiumo asked out of curiosity.
She usually didn't take much notice about those characters, but since her son liked them, she would watch with him. However, she would always fall asleep while watching with him.
"He is rich!" exclaimed Tong Lele. "I want to be as rich as Batman!"
"They are all imaginary hero characters," said Tong Jiumo. She was really worried that Tong Lele would commit crimes in the future.
After all… the first time Tong Lele had used high technology, he had hacked into another person's account and transacted a sum of money…
This kid had always been so money-faced ever since he was young.
However, Tong Lele was very obedient. He dared not disobey him.
"But isn't it very cool to possess riches as his ability? I just like the fact that Batman is rich!" Tong Lele rubbed his small hands and said with a treacherous look, "If comic characters really exist, I think we will form a great alliance."
Tong Jiumo could not contain her laughter. "You are so good at praising yourself."
"Mommy, I love you!" Tong Lele returned to his mother's side. Tong Lele sighed as these three days felt like it was Mo Lisi's adventure.
"Mommy, I had a weird dream!"
"What kind of weird dream?" asked Tong Jiumo curiously.
Her son had gone back to his talkative side.
He had been so quiet these past three days, and she was not used to it.
"I dreamt that there was a kid who looked exactly like me. He brought me to see his daddy, and his daddy looked like me too! Isn't it weird?"
Tong Jiumo was packing the textbooks for Tong Lele when she heard it. After hearing him, she froze.
A cold, handsome face flashed through her mind.
In her hindsight, that face was a duplicate of Tong Lele's face.
Her heart skipped a beat!

She looks at the three carbon copies in front of her, the colour draining from her face. Without saying anything, he pins her against the wall, "Your son has already sold you to me, be good and become my wife!"
"Mister, we're not well acquainted!"
"We've slept together, and you still claim we're not well acquainted? We've already have two children together, are we not close?"
 The noble lord is fierce and shameless when spoiling his wife. He can be cruel to everyone else just to win her smile.
"Sir, aside from being stubborn, what else can you do?"
"I can spoil you, pamper you, bed you!" he says with a meaningful look.

I am writing this as a project to test out my skills in writing a superhero story and to become more knowledgeable about the world of Marvel and D.C. 

I have read some comics, but not many to be honest. However, I watched all Spiderman movies and all Marvel/ D.C movies so I will be basing this novel heavily on the movies that are out and maybe on the Spiderman game. 

Such content like  Inifinty War, Spiderman 1-3 original, Spiderman PS4, and other Marvel and D.C movies will be included. 


Note this is Marvel X D.C world so nothing will be canon. 

You can give me suggestions on some of my questions 


Who should the MC train with and become stronger? Example Batman or Tony Stark. 

How powerful should the system be? Should there be restrictions? (Note) The MC will be able to get new Spiderman suits and powers from the system, however, he must earn it. I could also put no system if that's what you want?

What timeline should the MC be reborn in? I was thinking during the first Avengers/ Infinity War movie. But let me know. 

Which Spiderman comic books should I read? 

Lastly, this is just for fun so don't expect much. I am writing this novel so that I can gain more knowledge of the Marvel universe.

An hour and a half past quickly with Theodore doing his regular stream of morning exercise with the Sole Piece story being told by one clone and another clone provided some sound effects and music to action scenes.

During this time his third clone made breakfast for everyone this considered of pancakes and an English Breakfast. 

Back to Theodore who was now laid flat on the poolside, wearing nothing but swimming shorts, covered in a mixture of pool water and sweat.

Unlike the first two weeks that lead him to have a numb feel all over his body, he was now feeling extreme exhaustion.

He did have some pain in his legs and shoulders but It was the lack of any energy in his body that really messed with him.

He wanted to go and do his regular ice bath and warm shower but he didn't have the slights bit of strength to stand up. 

Luckily for him, the clones had just finished up the telling the Alabasta Arc for Sole Piece.

"And we're done, sorry guys I know I promised to show you a comic I've been working on right after Sole Piece but my body can't really get up. I'll be back in a bit" Said The Clone before helping Theodore with getting to the bathroom.

A few minutes later Theodore had cleaned himself up and just managed to catch his Mom and Dad leaving for work.

Uncle Kyle, Aunt Amy and baby Chloe had just sat down for breakfast.

"Good Morning Uncle Kyle and Aunt Amy, If you want me to make something else just say I'll have it made immediately," Said Theodore with a cheery smile

"Good Morning Theodore, so I read over your story "A Thousand Days Of Lonesome Grinding" and was wondering if we could be the ones to publish it. Please don't just say yes because of our relationship. Let's be professional about this as it is your story" Said Uncle Kyle sincerely

"I understand, just say when you have the contract ready and I'll look over it with a businessman's perspective," Said Theodore 

"Good" Said Uncle Kyle

"I also got the chance to read it, It was very entertaining. I'm quite excited to see the rest. I hope you don't mind Sohpie said she would come later so can you wake her before lunch and send her home" Said Aunt Amy while feeding the hungry Chloe

"That's good to hear and I really don't if she stays longer. So did Chloe sleep well?" Asked Theodore 

"It was okay she cried a few times but its nothing we couldn't handle. Compared to Sophie who cried and screams for every occasion, she's a silent angel. Ain't that right Chloe my little Angle" Said Aunt Amy before kissing Chloe all over her face.

"Good, let's get right to the new comic called . . . BatMan" Said, Theodore before making a sketchbook appear in his hands.

He was now sat in the living room with the stone fireplace behind him and a set of shelves filled with books.

Theodore was wearing a simple blue shirt that had some art on it and a pair of grey joggers. His simple look did not fit the stereotypical intelligent background found in movies, shows, magazines etc.

Unlike his Sole Piece sketchbooks which didn't have cover art this one did. From the cover alone it set a dark, gritty tone with an unpleasant anyway was the backdrop.

At the end of the alleyway stood a sturdy shadow-like figure with skinny tall pointy ears near the top of his head. 

With just the side of his face showing wearing a black metallic mask that covered most of his head apart from the lower half of his face that showed his sharp and annual jaw with thin lips.

He had cold black eyes that were full intelligence and maturity as they gazed down at a man who looked up with fearful eyes while a black bat-shaped object was lodged in the brick wall just inches off his cheek.

Theodore then began to narrate by first introducing the audience to the idea of a world where powers don't exist and what life in Gotham city is like before going onto to talk about the Wane family.

(Note: I'm gonna be stupidly vague with Batman as I don't have the comic knowledge. My Batman knowledge is mostly  based on Batman cartoons like Batman Beyond, The Batman, Justice League and the movies)

Thirty minutes passed as Theodore came to the end "Clad in black carbon fibre armour that had been inspired by his fear of Bats. Standing on a gargoyle that overlooked the city he watched as the bustling streets slowly turn quite as the cold night falls. Without a second thought, he dived down from the gargoyle while his cape flutters behind him as he makes a beeline for a man who had forcefully dragged a woman into a dark alleyway"

The image of Batman making landing right next to the criminal was portrayed nicely with the very little light-capturing his mysterious yet broody silhouette. 

 
"Bruce stood there as the man stared back and mocked him "Move along freak show" The women beg "Please help!" "Shut up bitch" Said The Man as he goes to slap the women face. Bruce quickly closes the gap as he grabs the man's raised hand before throwing a devastating punch to his ribs, causing a gruesome crunching noise to resound. *Crunch* He then grabs the man by the neck and lifts him so that they were eye level. The man's legs frail around as he throws punches after punches at Bruce's armoured body in a desperate attempt to have his neck be released" Said, Theodore while showing the scuffle take place in his drawings

"With the little air in his lungs, the man asked "W-who are you" To which the tall masked Bruce Wane replied with a rough and cold voice "I'm Batman" Before delivering a headbutt to the man and shooting his grappling gun to the roof and disappearing from the scene" Said, Theodore using the iconic rough and deep voice that would be forever be known as the Batman's voice

Theodore thought about his previous promise to produce a song that would take away the Monday blues and agreed with those who wanted a happy song.

"Hmm, humm" Closing his eyes he went through his memories of music in search of a song he hums a familiar tune that brought back the memories of his old life.

In his old life, he was somebody that was raised in an orphanage and there was one song that set him at ease during his constant worry of what the future held for a poor orphan boy.

It was a rather simple song but it was exactly what a simple boy needed to lift his spirits.

Thinking of the song he began to compare his simple old life to the difficult relationship he had with his Ex-wife 

He had his clone bring him his dark brown acoustic guitar as he slowly recalled his memories. 

From the Chat's perspective, he appeared to be at thinking of the song and were excited to screenshot the peaceful momentum that he exuded.

A few seconds later his clone passed him the guitar. Theodore gripped the neck lightly as his finger slowly danced along the string

In a rough smoky voice filled with passion and memories, he began singing with his most sincere intentions.

Theodore's voice caught Chat off guard but they quickly fell in love with it as it spoke volumes. His rough voice seemed to tell his story as did his eyes and somewhat sad smile. 

Struggle and pain could be heard in his voice as he saw himself argue with Bethany time and time again. 

Even with this unhealthy relationship he still kept smiling for Rose's sake.

For a parent, a fake smile is one of the first things you need to learn right next to loving and caring for a child.

Just like most kids, Rose was sensitive to emotions. From it, she learnt early in life the neglect of a mothers love. 

And so she produced a fake smile of her own, but kids aren't able to hide thier emotions as well as adults so every time he saw he felt an undescribable pain. 

He knew he had to do something to change thier circumstance.

"Light up your face with gladness

Altho' a tear may be ever so near"

So he did exactly what was needed and, officially filed for a divorce. He didn't know how to feel when Bethany easily accepted it not even giving it a second glance.

Leaving nothing but cold glance only meeting so that she could take her stuff not even saying goodby to Rose.

You'll find that life is still worth-while"

Through it all, he managed to give Rose a better environment to grow healthily in, even managing to get her a friend that would boost her confidence.

It's lyrics we're fairly simple and the acoustic guitar couldn't give it the justice it needed as the original instruments used for it enhanced every word and emotion placed behind them.

'I should either try and pick up the instruments needed or find a jazz band to play' Thought, Theodore happily feeling an incredible feeling of comfort.

After saying goodby Theodore then said his goodbyes to Uncle Kyle, Aunt Amy and Chloe before left for home.

He went to wake Rose and Lily up, while they washed themselves up with a clone watching over them. 

He then checked on Sophie and Mary. Sophie was still fast asleep while Mary, was up and ready for the new day stretching he light dressed body. 

After washing up Rose and Lily sat down for breakfast with Mary joining them.

"Mr Hunt, I watched the stream and really think you should do a singing competition like American Idol," Said Mary while cutting into some bacon

Hello, this is my second original novel. I have written up to 5 novels three of which were dropped

To be fair two of them were the same novel that had a slight difference. The first novel I wrote had way too many problems to count.

The girl on the cover was not done by me nor do I own it either. I found it through google images and edited. If you are the owner please tell me if you'd like it taken down or be credited. The cover will change over time as I either learn digital art or pay some talented artist.

The Shadow has a long and storied history. Over the course of the character's radio and publishing history, The Shadow became an American icon in his own right, and was even the inspiration for Batman, V for Vendetta, as well as being cited as a strong influence on the evolution of comic book heroes in general. 

The Shadow has many ties to DC, even though the character was published by many different companies at different points in history.  Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel, and Lester Dent (who wrote the Doc Savage stories) both wrote stories for The Shadow, among others.

DC Comics first published a Shadow series in the mid 1970's. An aging Shadow also appeared in Batman comics in which it is revealed that (in-universe) The Shadow was Batman's "biggest inspiration", as well as the surprising facts that The Shadow saved a young Bruce Wayne as a boy, and that The Shadow knows who Batman is, but the secret is safe with him. Batman also referenced The Shadow when he was once disguised as a night janitor at a police station, a method which The Shadow often used to obtain access to police records in his day. 

Another couple of DC published Shadow series was released in the 80's, and there was one more in the 90's. The Shadow also made a few cameo's in other comics in the 90's. 

This fanfic blends the radio version with the novel and comic book version. Certain RPG systems have been used to provide stats for the character to make tracking of changes easier. This interlude does not cover the many other Shadow comics, novels, pulps, and even movies that have been published over the years.

The Living Shadow, more commonly known as simply The Shadow, is whispered about but seldom seen, feared and mysterious, but frighteningly effective once involved. The Shadow has worked with famous figures such as Doc Savage and Batman, and is even cited by Batman as a source of inspiration and a model figure. 

Decades have passed and nothing as been seen or heard of The Shadow. Criminals have forgotten the chilling whisper in the dark, "The weed of crime bears bitter fruit!" Nor do they recall the frightening laughter in the dead of night. 

But soon the streets will again be haunted, the criminals stalked, evil pruned. 

Who knows what evil lurks in the heart? The Shadow knows!

DC FanFic Writing Contest

Just two months had passed since me and my mom signed the deal, and now the release date of my first book was about to happen.

At the end I decided that 'The princess collection volumen one' will be formed by: 'Sleeping beauty', 'Cinderella', 'Aladdin', 'The princess and the frog' and 'Beauty and the beast'.

What leaves: 'Mulan', 'The little mermaid', 'Moana', 'Rapunzel' and 'Frozen' for the second volume. Which release date will depend on how well does the first one. 

Those were all the 'Disney' princesses I could somehow remember, which made easier the decision to not doing more in the future. For the other two books, I planned to use 'DreamWorks' or 'Illumination' movies as a reference. What was clear, is that those books will not be compilations, I needed to start practicing writing longer books. And that's what I am doing lately, besides working on my comic with Hanna of course. 

"Girls I have a surprise for you" I said to the girls when we were on recess. 

"Thank you Sam!" the twins said when I gave them copies of my book. Each one gave me a tight hug and a quick kiss on the forehead. 

"Thank you!" Claire smiled cutely at me, and gave me a hug. Her hazel eyes are captivating, which always made me look at her for a slightly longer period of time. 

For someone as antisocial as me, I should count myself lucky to have three friends already. Although I couldn't really take any merit in my friendship with Claire, the twins were just too nice with everyone, so this kind of conclusion was an understanding. 

"The book will be on sale in about a week, so you better like it because I can't change anything now" I joked. 

"That's impossible" Emma replied quickly with a face that showed her conviction. 

"Ummmm. It'll depend if the stories are as good as the ones we have read before" Ellie smiled slyly at me. I think that her sense of humor has evolved thanks to me. I don't know if that's a good thing though. 

"That's why Emma is my favorite twin" I winked at Ellie, who pouted at me while I gave the clueless Emma a hug. 

"Me too" Said Claire, who played along and joined us. Ellie's face was hilarious, she looked at Claire as if she had committed the ultimate betrayal. 

"... Ok, I surrender. I will love it" Ellie finally said, and hugged us all while we all laughed. 

"Sammy, stop flirting with your girlfriends" It was my sister voice who interrupted us. The twins and Claire flinched at my sister words, and a blush appeared on their faces while they moved back a couple of steps. 

"Hehe, you are cute" My sister simply said to them before giving me a hug of her own. 

"Sis, how are you? Did something happen?" I asked in curiosity. I wanted to know why was she here, considering that we don't share the recess periods with the kids on her grade. 

"I'm fine... Sam, I came here to give you some good news, and also to ask for permission" She started with a tone showing a mix of emotions. 

It seemed that she was happy and guilty at the same time. I just looked at her eyes prompting her to continue, and that she did "... Do you remember my best friend?" She asked. 

I do. It's really hard to forget the only ginger on school, and one that adorable too. Besides, Hannah has already introduced us before. 

"Kate. Of course I remember her. You have even told me that today you'll be going to her house to a pijama party" 

"That's true... Well the thing is, her uncle works at this network that focus on making cartoons. And thanks to Kate, he got to know about our comic" She smiled widely. 

"'Power puff girls' will be on tv!" The twins and Claire said excitedly. They were even happier than me. 

That was great news. I would have preferred to somehow make the cartoon myself, so I could've own it. But I know that it was impossible for now.

"Yep. And he's currently at Kate's house, so I wanted to talk to him about it today... Unless you want to be there too?" 

So she's worried about that. It was cute from her, but like the minor she is my sister can't sign any deal, so there is no danger with her being alone.

"Oh, don't worry big sis. I know that you'll be fine on your own. I trust you" I encouraged her. 

"Sammy!" She simply said, before lifting me up and spinning around a couple of times. 

"Yeah Hannah, you'll do great" My friends said encouragingly. 

"Thanks girls" My sister said happily, "You are all so great. I would be happy with any of you being Sam' s girlfriend" she added playfully after a while. 

At that my friends just flushed and lowered their heads shyly. Which I just couldn't ignore. 

"But Hannah, the three of them are my girlfriends already" I said with innocence. 

It seems that I went too far, because the three of them just ran away before I could continue with my act. 

"You're cruel little brother" Hannah said with a smirk on her face when we realized that they wouldn't come back. 

"Hehe, I learned from the best" I replied with a little smile. 

Then we discussed about her 'meeting'. Basically I just told her to not worry that much for the money, and to just offer the TV rights for a limited amount of time. Maybe that would make Kate's uncle reconsider his idea to make the show to begin with, but for starters it was a good baseline. 

When the recess was over I said my goodbyes to Hannah, whom I'll not see until tomorrow. Then I reunited with my friends who acted like nothing happened, and because I didn't want to make things awkward I didn't say anything. 

In class, like I've doing lately, I focused in creating my 'own' comic universe. I wanted to have a continuous story line, with a lot of characters. And the timeline was what's making me work so hard on it. 

Until now, the characters I had that I wanted to do, and that were coherent with the world I planned, were: 'Batman', 'Spiderman', 'Powergirl', 'Hulk', 'Static', 'Black panther', 'Scarlett witch', 'Wonder woman', 'Aquaman', 'Guardians of the galaxy', 'Doctor strange', and mutants (in a certain degree). 

Dedicating myself to organize the comic world, my day passed quickly with no major incident. There was a math test, but it's not even worth mentioning. And like it was already planned, my father picked me up at the school gates. 

"How was your day?" I asked my father. I knew that he has been working on a game for this 'new' hand-held console, for about four months now. 

"Not that well to be honest. But that's to be expected considering that this is the first time we are doing a game for this new console" He said with his usual energetic nature. 

"Well, if you have any problem with the game, just remember that my offer is still in place" I joked. 

I wanted to make a certain game, especially for this time an age. But I wouldn't just hande it like that, I wanted to own it myself. 

"About that. In the past I may have talked about your proposal to my boss, and now with how I been talking about you, and the news of your book being a week away only... Let's say that it wouldn't be an impossibility in a couple of years" He said casually. 

"Are you saying that I'll be able to make my own game under the company you work for, and still conserve the rights to it?" I asked. I wanted to be excited, but it was just too good to be true. 

"Like I've said to you before. If you are willing to share the ownership of any game you do, I would be able to help you with getting published... But yes. The times are changing, and it wouldn't be impossible for it to be real. Especially if the games we'll develope are not well received.

Although there's things you need to learn first. I have teached you the basics, but there's much more to learn before you can even think on making your own game" He finished jokingly. He's aware of how good I really am, it wasn't just arrogance. 

In my past life I made a living making games, so letting my family know of my 'talent' in that regard, was one of my first priorities when I realized that this was not the world I once knew. Which turned out to be an easy job with my dad's profession. 

"Of course dad. You can teach me whenever you want" I simply said with a confident smile. I didn't even refer to the ownership topic, there was no way I would change my mind about it.

Samuel Bane, a guy who was just a normal 23 year old in another life, was living in a new world with his memory intact. 

The new world is almost exactly the same as the one he lived before, except that the period of time was similar to the mid 80's that he knew by the movies and tv shows he watched.

This story will focus on how Sam enters the entertainment business. Getting his works published and meeting new people on his way towards an unheard level of success. 

The concept of the story has inspiration in "I'm really a super star", but it's nothing alike.

his name is Bruce Wayne a normal worker.


When his parents died in a car accident he was four years old, so he can't remember their faces. He also has no other family members who can adopt him, so he lived in an orphanage, He was very lonely and has no friends until he was 18 because no family wanted to adopt him due to his reticent personality.


Because of his personality, his only pleasure was comic, His favorite comic character is Batman a.k.a. The Dark Knight, because Batman is the smartest comic character in the DC universe, who has a plan for everything, and he almost always managed to defeat people with surgical superpowers.


Later, when our protagonist wants to cross the street, he is hit by Truck-kun, when he wants to go to a comic book store, he is run over by Truck-kun and his last thought was "PLEASE Detect MY INTERNET HISTORY" says Bruce.


You see a bright soul floating in the dark, the ball of light is our protagonist. Bruce: "Where am I? Am I dead?" Said, Bruce


Unknown voice: "Yes, you are dead and you are in the emptiness of the worlds," said the strange voice in the emptiness. Bruce: "Are you God?"


Unknown voice: "Yes, but I am not the God of Bible, I am the Egyptian god Osiris God of the Nile of the afterlife and rebirth because you have lived a sad life I will be born again in Marvel with 1 wish".


Bruce: "ok, I wish that I could be reborn as a billionaire and playboy Bruce Wayne with his knowledge and the company Wayne Enterprises," he said


Osiris: "OK, I fulfill this wish, I hope we won't see each other again so quickly".


Then everything went black for him and
disappeared into the empty

It was my first day to university, I mingled to some of the boys named 'Jack' and 'Nick', both were non athletic. However, I was a freak of football and badminton. I met them as the two best friends from the same college in California. I was introduced immediately, I liked it. I wanted to make more friends but all were rich spoiled kids there. All were harsh except one or two. We started our conversation like this:

"Hey, Ah, Nice to meet you, well I am Murk, a student of chemistry section A".

" Oh! I'm Nick and he is Jack. We are your classmate ", Nick said

" well this a very big university ", I added

" Indeed",Jack replied.

I met Rose laughing loudly with her weird friends and she was introduced to me as a billionaire spoiled egocentric person.

"Oh! See, she again, I hate her", Nick added, " Beware of her, she is a spoiled brat with lots of money."

"Oh-Oh-O-okay", I reacted.

The bell rang . I accidentally sat on the first bench with a bench partner 'Stacy', a weird pale girl with heavy pairs of earrings and a stylish notebook. 
I told her 'Hi'. she was astonished while looking at me.

" H-H-Hi-Hi", she stammered and said those words with difficulty.

All innocent students were introduced to Mr. Organic (or Mr. Walls) as a psycho teacher. He taught us boring lectures and I amazingly dozed off, woken up by a heavy blow of duster and keen eyes shouting "Get out". I swap places to conner-most boy in the fourth bench, my bench mate was nick named 'Rocky'. I shared some introductory talks (like, 'How are you?', 'Nice to meet you', 'what is your name?'). The classes ended as my first day ended.

On my second day, I was late. That hag (or Mrs. Smith) allowed me in the class, fortunately. My Rocky lend me a pen and meanwhile, the hag warned the whole class, " Not to be late or else" she looked deeply and said that she would complain to the dancing principal. She was also boring with 'easy-recitation-of-textbook-words'. I hated her.

The second class was easy with the one whom I don't care, exist or not. I was like- I don't give a damn shit.

It was a break. It was a gloomy day with dark clouds and the over casted sky was ready to shed its tears at any inevitable moment. The heavy storm tried to calm its tears. I, a normal human being could not do anything but be sad at the mere phenomenon. No happy birds singing and no lovely, lively butterflies fluttering around. The flowers were as sad as the day was.

Then I switched my gaze to the Chemistry section B . I saw a beautiful woman of my age, twenty four, dancing and singing aloud, I always gazed her (its not me being a stalker but she grabbing the attention by singing and dancing aloud). She slightly changed her facial expression and slowly smiled towards me with her tuffy pink natural lips. I was interrupted by a deaf rings making a sharp ting on my malleus, the break ended. 

A gaunt big frame asked me, "What are you looking bro?".

" weather", I answered

"Weather?", he asked with a confuse with broken bulb-fuse face.

I immediately went to Mrs. Smith class before she entered. I thought about University teachers this whole hours. How boring or serious can they be?

My those days were seriously boring and how I bore a month? However, I studied three hours everyday fixing some whereabouts and for the bloody sake of ' I'm studying'. I hate books, an extreme book hater of organic chemistry and the whole Chemistry, however the exceptions are: comic books (like batman) and lovely and confusing novels ( like Lolita)

We were born one day.....
We will die one day.....
We love our true beloved some day.....
But, breath more than thousand days.

Murk Daes, the narrator of the entire story, who had a bad childhood as his father was a drunkard, he was happy in his funeral and demise, he had seen his mother (Misty Daes) was always beaten by his father. His hatred towards his father was not measurable. Consequently, he was an introvert with hate.

However he shifted to California, Berkeley and started a new life. His mother got very busy as a biochemist and unnoticed. He wanted to complete his higher studies and joined football and badminton clubs. That was when he encountered Merry Dawn nicknamed, Rose (by Murk), he got infatuated.

 "The creator of my story;

This book is written by the perspectives of Murk whose obsession towards Rose cannot be comprehend. She is spellbinding, magical in many ways for him.
