Chapter 183. Kidnapping, Part XIX

Killian snorted at Themes' words. "You will surely die, of course. Do you think I'll keep you alive when you betray me?"
 
"Your Highness, it's not good to see a poor young lady sitting on the ground too long. Please forgive and give her a chance. How do you feel about that?"
 
Anyway, a stone that was quite useful came rolling in on its own, and he didn't think of kicking it back. 'Wouldn't it break his opponent's nose if he picked it up and threw it?'

Her expectant shoulders fell, but Oswald pretended not to notice, and only told the knight to take the lady back to her wagon.
 
Killian looked at Oswald sulkily as the carriage door closed.
 
"Your Majesty, why do you see it that way? It's not a business if we do it once or twice."
 
"I think you are such a bad guy."
 
Oswald pursed his lips at Killian's words. "I don't think you have anything to say to me. Anyway, I'm worried about Lady Anais, who failed her job today. I never thought she'd used such a strong method as kidnapping."
 
"Spread a rumor about what you've heard before into the capital."
 
Oswald retorted upon the sudden remark of Killian. "What rumor is it?"
 
"The rumor is about what Lady Haint said. It's only a matter of time before it spreads within the capital, since they've been talking at the party anyway, but I need you to make it spread faster and more securely."
 
"You want to bind Francis and Anais together?"
 
"It doesn't matter if I do or not. I'm just trying to distract Lady Anais's with another for the time being."
 
"Lady Anais won't give up easily. She's done this, so I have no idea what kind of scary things she's ready to do."
 
"Yes, I suppose so. Until today, I've taken into consideration that she's the half-sister of Julietta, but if she tries something again, I'll have to get rid of her right away. I won't give her two chances."
 
Oswald nodded at Killian's words. "Yes, Your Highness. I hope she will not waste the chance you have generously given her. I feel sorry for Marquis Anais, by the way. How did this happen…?"

She wanted to forget everything and go back to her mansion to sleep, but she couldn't ignore Francis, who was waiting. Eventually late at night, Christine had to go back into the Imperial Castle and report to Francis about her failure. "I'm sorry. I never thought she'd coax the wicked man and run away. But next time, I will not fail. Sooner or later, I will offer Princess Kiellini to you."

Francis laughed loudly at Christine's words. "You can't take a joke. You must have been pretty tired today. But Christine, this is what you suggested to me first. I'll give you three days. Whether you send Princess Kiellini to the Marius mansion by noon on Wednesday or you come, one of you will have to come."
 
Francis ordered her to go when he finished. As he watched Christine rush out of the lounge, afraid to look back, he muttered, "The Marquis, I have a hunch that Princess Kiellini is going to be a nuisance."
 
Marius was standing behind Francis. He went to the sofa and answered, "If Christine's work today had succeeded, it would have been pretty good. But she's failed already, so she won't have another chance. The Kiellini family will obviously be on high alert after the sudden abduction."
 
"That's right. It's foolish to waste time on Princess Kiellini. The rumor of her being with Killian is also unpleasant, so we should get rid of her. Let Christine do as she pleases. It'll be fun to have her give up trying to do things that don't work and just kneel down in front of me."

Maybe yesterday's kidnapping was a shock, but Julietta barely opened her eyes long after noon the next day. Manny slept with her in the large bed, got up early in the morning, ate a meal, went to the toilet, and played alone next to Julietta, who was still asleep.
 
"Manny, did you sleep well?"
 
Feeling aftermath of her violent struggle to resist, she felt as if she had been beaten all over, and her voice cracked. At Julietta's subdued voice, Manny quickly approached her face.
 
He didn't know what happened, but it was clear that something big had happened to this lady yesterday. Her mouth was covered with blood clots and it was all the more messed up in broad daylight.
 
Julietta hugged Manny, who was rubbing its face against her neck as if comforting her, played for a while, and managed to pull herself up when Vera and Phoebe came in.
 
"Miss, you woke up. Madame told me not to wake you up, but I was worried because you were sleeping too long." Vera looked around her face, helping Julietta out of her bed.
 
"You need to keep the makeup on for a while.  Amelie and Sophie came and returned from the shop. They told me not to wake you up because you couldn't get up."
 
Julietta staggered into the bathroom and turned back in surprise. "Did they come and go already? Why didn't you wake me up? It's their first visit to the Kiellini mansion! I'm so sorry." Julietta was so sorry that she grumbled unknowingly.
 
"I heard they're booked up in the afternoon, so they can't stay long anyway. Don't be upset, they can come here often. Still, they had fun watching your bedroom, drinking tea, and then went back."

Julietta, born as an illegitimate child of a nobility, is raised in an opera theatre to hide away from the eyes of the noble's main wife.

This was the first time Jie saw Zheng throw a steel bar. His mind went blank for a moment then he started patting on Zheng’s shoulder and laughed. “Damn dude, when did you get this kind of power? Were you hiding it from me the whole time during training?”

Zheng smiled bitterly, he pulled out the bar from the wall. “No, I just discovered it not long ago. And I can’t last long. Every time I throw, it will spend some Qi. According to the amount of Qi I have and its recovery rate, I can only throw five bars at a time then I have to rest for five minutes.”

“Five bars huh?”, Jie scratched his head. “Five is still good. I don’t believe the Aliens’ exoskeletons are tougher than this steel wall. Too bad we only found out about it now and didn’t have the opportunity to practice your aim. Otherwise, the Aliens probably wouldn’t be a problem for you.”

Zheng smiled bitterly again. Those Aliens weren’t as easy as Jie thought. Aside from their strength and speed, the most terrifying thing was that they would hide and wait for a sneak attack. He encountered them two times in this spacecraft. People only died from the sneak attack. Even though they could still kill anyone face to face, it was more terrifying when they were hidden.

“Actually the most terrifying thing about Aliens are their sneak attacks, last time Lan and me…” As Zheng was talking, he noticed Lan spacing out. He asked, “Lan, what are you thinking?”

“I am thinking why would Xuan bring them away. With his wisdom he can’t possible not be wary of the danger beyond room 15, yet why is he willing to take the risk? Perhaps there is something more dangerous here?”

A thought struck Zheng’s mind. He and Lan said it at the same time, “The Alien’s blood!”

Jie looked at them in confusion. “What Alien blood? I don’t get what you’re talking about.”

Zheng looked bitter as he said, “The Aliens that are trapped. I have also seen Alien Resurrection. The Alien that was isolated injured its own body then used its blood to help it escape. If we only trapped them, they wouldn’t injure their body at once. But if we are moving toward room 15. These Aliens may do anything to escape, in order to protect their nest. At that time we will be the ones facing these Aliens because we are behind them! Such a ruthless person, did he plan it all out when he was setting up Shuai?”

Lan shook her head. “No one can have this kind of ability. He’s also not familiar with our personalities, how can he plan so far ahead. He probably came up with the plan on the spur of the moment. He saw that we decided to split up then used us as their shield.”

Zheng calmed down then started searching for something on the screen. After a while, he said in a cold voice, “I will let him know we are not his pawns. Let’s see who’s the first to die!”

Room 22, bathroom.

Zheng and the other two hurried to this place. After they entered the room, he had Lan lock the door. Then he rushed to one of the individual shower rooms and said, “Hurry up and clean all the scents on your body. Then smear the food that I gave you on your body. Remember to cover it all up. Understand?”

Lan immediately ran into a shower. Jie also started to clean his body, after a while he heard Lan shout, “Zheng… I can’t move my arm to clean the blood. Come… help me.”

Jie stopped what he was doing and put his ears to the wall. But before Zheng and Lan could do anything, they heard scratching sounds outside the door. That sound was so harsh it was like someone was scratching the floor with metal.

The three of them immediately stopped everything they were doing. They didn’t even dare to move a bit. Zheng just walked into Lan’s room and looked at her with embarrassment.

That sound stopped in front of the bathroom. The three of them felt as if their hearts had stopped beating. The only sound in this room was the sound of running water. Other than that they didn’t even dare to breath.

The stress coming from outside lasted so long, it felt like several seconds or maybe several minutes. By the time that sound went away they were almost at the point of suffocation. They immediately started to breathe in air deeply.

The three didn’t say anything. Jie stopped trying to eavesdrop on them and smeared his body with cheese. Zheng and Lan also smeared liquified food on their body. The whole thing only took one minute. You can see the potential of humans here.

Just then that scratching sound came back again. They held their breath. They weren’t as nervous as the first time. And just like the first time, that sound stopped in front of the door then went away quickly.

A thought struck Zheng. He suddenly ran out of the shower room and picked out several steel bars. Jie and Lan put their head out of the shower and looked at him with confusion.

“The two Aliens reacted in the same way, I hope it will be the same this time…”

As Zheng said it in a low voice, another scratching sound started approaching them. There was a hint of nervousness from their breathing, especially since Jie and Lan didn’t know what Zheng was planning to do. Though Lan could sort of guess.

The sound moved closer and closer to the bathroom. They were so nervous that they could almost hear their heartbeats. Zheng’s fingers had turned pale from gripping the bar too tight.

The sound indeed stopped in front of the door. Zheng could even hear scratching on the door.

He didn’t hesitate and filled the steel bars with Qi. He threw three bars in quick succession. The bars penetrated the door and followed by screams from the outside.

P.S. There are a lot of character developments for both the MC and other characters throughout due to the themes of this novel, survival and evolution. Just a reminder that everyone selected by God had at least once genuinely thought about dying, even if they didn’t choose YES.

There is a lot of things that keeps bothering him. And this will not resolve in just one sitting at a time.
 
The moment the car entered the vicinity of his residence. His attention was immediately called by Denise. She's on the garden. Sitting on the bench and caressing the flowers while touching them.

She looks so naive yet she smile with modest.

"Young Master, this young lady is such  a gorgeous one." Mike praised Denise as he glanced at her while driving. He just wanted to praise Alex that she picked a perfect one.

" Mind your driving, Mike." Deep inside he's flattered.

He entered the house immediately and went to the bathroom to freshen up himself.

After taking a bath. He opened the window and directly looking at the garden. The moon is so bright and the wind blows with freezing breath.

"Ohh!" She suddenly reacted from the cold touch of the wind as it  blows in her direction.

 She roamed around her eyes. The Mansion is a three-storey building and it's land area comprise of 5 hectares. Not bad for a single family living in this residence.

The garden sytle is inspired by the Greece's. Everything is perfectly  designed.The selection of plants is matched to the themes of the design of the Mansion.

Though, the Mansion indeed is big but with empty happiness in every corner.

Her stomach crumble s.

"Well, I'm a little bit hungry." She explained to herself as if someone's asking her.

She didn't ate her breakfast and lunch. That is one of her rebellious act or  rage towards Alex.

She's nagging the flowers. Indirectly telling her anger to Alex through these lovely flowers. Scolding them one by one. 

What a childish act!

"Hoooo! You! You're such a pervert one. You kissed me. You did such things to me while I am in mental state." She's actually pointing the  flower in front of her. She's just like crazy talking.

Could this be the effect of those drugs?

Someone's listening to her words. Every words her mouth uttered.

She heard someone's intentional cough. 

"Are you done?" A cold voice from her back.

"A-Alex?" She fake her smile.

"Oh, you're here." She's shocked but why will she feel embarrassed after all what she's saying is true.

He did not say any words but sat down beside her. 

No words came up.
No mouths being open.
Only silence can be heards from the two.

Suddenly, there is memory flashed in her mind. The memory of how this man beside her do such unacceptable things to her. 

Could it be unacceptable of the claimed that they are married?

"Ahem! Did you just say before that we are married?"  And she raised her eyebrows.

"Yes."

"As far as I remember and not mistaken, married couples are supposedly lovers before. Are we lovers? I don't even know who you are." With a sarcastic tone. At least she's becoming more bold than before. Where did she learn that personality?

"Not all married couples required love in their union. Just a mutual benefit is enough." He answered her practically. Well that's what we call practical and direct.

"If that so? Just right now I am filing divorce. Show me the marriage certificate for me to validate your illusion." 

"I told you. You can only leave this house if you can pay me back." He stood up and walked away.

Denise glanced at his back. This young arrogant man is really making her sick.

My head hurts. It really, really hurts. 

Not that I am a stranger to headaches of course. Getting regularly smashed at the pub will do that to you. Still, this level of pain is really something else. Its like a drill boring into my brain. Drilling away, drilling away, drilling away. No relief, no reprieve, no rest. Just that blinding, overwhelming pain, preventing me from moving or even opening my eyes.

I smell the dubious bouquet of stale alcohol coupled with the rancid aroma of puke. Did I throw up on myself? God, when did I become so gross? My drinking was always kept under control. 

The headache finally begins to subside. Rather than a drill, it feels more like my head had become a massive bruise. I open my eyes and see an unfamiliar ceiling. An old ceiling fan hypnotically churns the air over me. I feel the surface I am lying on, an old mattress. At least I did not collapse in a gutter. That would really suck.  Looks like a kind soul let me crash for the night. Unless I am missing a kidney. That would suck even more. 

My joints pop as I stretch and heave myself off the mattress. Huh. No puke on my clothes. That's a relief. Wait are these even my clothes? And where is that stale booze smell coming from? Better slow down, take stock, get a handle on things. That's what you usually do when you wake up from a bender. Good advise all round too. 

Clothes first. Examining the clothes on me, I realize its a bartender's uniform strongly smelling of alcohol. There's a name tag proudly displaying the word "GALLANT" in bright red colors. First of all, I am not a bartender, never was. Second, my name is not Gallant nor am I particularly gallant. I may be a man, but I get ridden rough shod by that bitch of a boss. If only there was actual riding involved. For all her faults, she's pretty hot. 

The room is really just a small bedroom. There's a wardrobe, a small desk coupled with a cushioned chair, a window (closed), the mattress I was lying on (no bed, no bed sheets even, what the hell), a plain wooden doors (closed), a sliding partition to what looks like the bathroom (also closed). Really classy. Like the minimalist approach to home decor. 

So I am in another man's clothes, having slept over in his home probably after going on a bender. Well things could be worse. At most I would have to apologize for making a nuisance of myself. If Mr GALLANT was really mad at me he would have dumped me out on the street instead of letting me stay in this room overnight. Hell, with the kind of business I probably gave him last night, what has he got to be mad about?

I stretch myself a few more times and walk towards the door. Well, time to make a move. Remember to look appropriately remorseful before my host. I wonder if he had taken the liberty to clean my clothes? 

Huh. Door's locked. Odd. There's no way to open it from the inside? I try knocking on it. No response. 

With cold sweat trickling down my back, I try the partition. Does not budge. Right. Don't panic. Slow down, take stock, get a handle on things. 

I am locked in an unknown room, wearing an unknown man's clothes, with no idea how I got there. 

I think I should start panicking right about now.

Trapped in a world not my own. Facing a destiny never meant to pass. Dealing with a hero doomed to defeat. Which will end first, this world or my life?

"I'll walk you," he said bluntly.
I am admittably extremely unfamiliar with the dating process, but I am still quite certain that this was not how it was supposed to go.
He had sat outside the store until the person he was waiting for walked out. That person was the cashier. Once he saw her, he walked up to her and said those words. He seemed calm, but she seemed shocked and slightly terrified.
"E-excuse me?"
"I'll walk you back to your place. It's dangerous for you to go alone."
"Excuse me? I mean, I'm okay, thanks, but no thanks."
She tried to walk away quickly.
He frowned but didn't follow. Instead he called out, "Two blocks ahead. Behind the corner on your left. A man is waiting there."
Her brisk footsteps immediately came to a halt.
"He's tall. 6 feet 1. Black hair, crew cut. Muscular. Probably 180 pounds or so."
"H-h-how do-?" She was trembling.
He slowly approached her like he would a frightened animal.
"I can deal with him. I mean you no harm. I can just walk with you."
A vein pulsed on the side of his neck.
...
"That stings." He touched the bruise on his arm, frowning.
The young woman was kneeling on the ground in shock. The aforementioned man was sprawled on the ground, unconscious and bleeding. He would wake up to broken ribs, a broken collarbone, a few knocked-out teeth, multiple bruises, and a deep-set fear of this location. He wouldn't remember my companion's face.
My companion looked toward the woman who was in no state to do anything. He sat down slowly, a safe distance away from her, where she could see his actions but not feel threatened. He didn't look at her, but I knew he could sense her every movement.
Her emotions were easy to read. Fear. Distrust. Anxiety. Despair. Hidden behind all of that was a strong desire. A desire to speak, perhaps? Undoubtedly a desire to run away.
She was slowly calming down, and was probably debating whether or not to make a break for it, when he finally said something.
"I'm hungry."
"Wha-" she inadvertently gasped.
He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out some granola bars.
"Want one?" He didn't wait for her response before tossing it in her direction. She recoiled, and the bar plopped directly in front of her. She picked it up carefully and examined it, then turned her head to look at him. He munched on his bar nonchalantly.
"T-thank you." 
He nodded. The sounds of plastic crinkling and chewing filled the silence for a few minutes.
"I can walk you to wherever you need to go. You don't have to tell me your address. Just go to any place you'll feel safe, then tell me to stop and I'll stay there while you leave," he finally said after finishing his bar.
"Why are you helping me?"
The girl who seemed so timid and weak before asked in a surprisingly strong voice. 
"... Your name," he muttered.
"Excuse me?"
"It means 'light.'" He turned his head and fixed his gaze on her. She flinched, but then stared back.
"How do you know my name?"
"You wear a name tag while you work."
"You were watching me?" She tensed as if to run.
"... I have a good memory."
That wasn't a lie.
He pulled another granola bar from his pocket and began eating it. 
"You didn't answer my question." 
"Oh," he said with disinterest.
She frowned, but waited for him to finish eating.
"Okay." He stood up slowly and brushed the dust off himself. "Tell me where."
...
He walked ahead of her, never looking back. She called directions occasionally, and he raised a hand to show he heard.
"Stop," she finally said. He did.
"Thank you..." He didn't turn around as she  began to walk away.
"Wait," he called out to the woman behind his back. "Whatever you're thinking of doing. Don't." Her footsteps didn't falter.
When he couldn't hear the sound of her walking anymore, he sighed and ran his hand through his hair.
"Hey."
- I cast the invisibility spell on you. I also boosted your stamina and agility.
"Thanks."
He followed her.
...
She clearly didn't trust him, as she walked to a destination five blocks away. Or rather, she started off walking but broke into a sprint. She turned down another road, traveled two blocks backwards in the direction we came from, then turned once more before arriving at her apartment.
"Haaa. haaa. haaa." She panted loudly after closing, locking, and chaining the door behind her. Then her legs buckled and she began trembling while hugging herself.
He had followed her quietly and observed all of this.
"That man," he explained to no one in particular. "He was her boyfriend."
I already knew this information.
- You were angry.
I stated my observation.
"I'm still angry."
That was true. The vein in his neck was still pulsing.
"He raped her, yesterday. He walked her home from work, then forced himself on her. Scum." He said mildly despite his choice of words.
- That's not the only reason you're angry.
I was pretty certain of this fact.
"It's not." His eyes were still trained on front door of the woman's apartment. He frowned, then began walking quickly towards it.
- She grabbed something and took it into the bathroom.
I guessed what he wanted to know.
"That is the second reason." 
He casually picked the lock, and I undid the chain. It would be troublesome for her to replace if he broke it now. I undid the invisibility spell as he walked in.
The woman gawked at him as he grabbed her wrist. She was standing in front of her bathroom sink which was slowly being filled with water. I made a soundproof barrier around the small room.
"You lied to me." She sounded betrayed.
That was false. He might have been misleading, but he had told her no lies.
"Of course I did." He replied nonchalantly, not denying it for some reason. "There's no way I would leave you alone when you were planning on doing something like this."
He increased the pressure he was applying in her wrist and her hand opened up.
"You lied to me," she repeated.
He caught the thing that dropped from her hand.
"I told you not to do it."
"It's none of your business what I do."
"You're right."
"Get out."
"No."
"You have no right-"
"I know I don't." He fixed his gaze on her, and she gulped nervously. "I have the least right out of everyone. But I still have my beliefs."
He looked at her emotionlessly. His eyes were empty, like black vortexes devoid of light. But the vein still pulsed in his neck.
"To let someone die when you have the power to stop them. That's the same as murder."
His knuckles whitened as his hand gripped the knife tightly.

Numerous stories about heroes being summoned to other worlds have appeared in recent years. But most do not know that this is due to the work of one person.

How could you do this, why did it have to be this way, I never asked for this. I was still looking at all the ice cream and since when can a decision be so damn hard iv been here for about 30 minutes and still haven't made a choice I want all of them but I have to narrow down my choices so I done what any sane person would do in this time of food crisis I sang "why oh why my sweet ice-cream why did you have to do this to me don't you know your so special to me but I must let you go" and I chose which ones to put back I looked around and as normal people were staring at me 
I just gave them the look of 'what never seen a girl sing to ice-cream before' I payed then headed back home. 

I ran out the car to the house but like usual my life had to be so fucking hard I couldn't reach the keys out of my pocket and worse of all was my babies were melting "hang on my babies mamma will put you in the freezer don't worry I won't let you melt" 
If you haven't realised I'm a little insane but it's normal I've always been like this I made it into the house just in time and carefully placed the ice-cream on the counter top and just as I was about to open the freezer mom called me
"sugar can you come here we need to talk" she said in a sweet voice I knew it was serious talk 'ugh' 
"but mom" I groned
"no buts young lady get yourself in here now" 
"fine" I said like it was the end of the world
Mom was sitting on the couch and by the look on her face I new I wasn't going to like what she's going to say
"honey I'm just going to cut to the chase. Your going to live with aunt Mary for the year" 
"WHAT! But mom aunt Mary is in Australia" 
"Yes hunny your going to live with aunt Mary Im getting sent abroad for work so your going to live with aunt Mary. This is not up for discussion so I suggest you go and pack your bags your leaving for the airport tomorrow "

I dove once the door was fully open
He had no warning but was used to it I wrapped my arms around his neck and legs round his torso 
"hey" he squeaked out

"oh sorry hunter" I said and released him but only a little bit
"mom told me I have to live with aunt Mary" 
"What! How could your mom separate us were two pees in a pod" 
"I know but I have to live in Australia. I don't want to go" 
"I know I know but we will video chat and call and text each other" 
"but I don't want to leave what if I'm lonely and nobody likes me what if something happens to me you won't be there to save me" 
"nothing will happen to you and who couldn't like you your so cute"

"I know how about some ice-cream tones of chocolate and a marathon of American horror story" he says 
"yea that will be fun" I squeal 
3 hours later and we crash only to be woken up by some annoying voice to wake up
"no... 10 more years" I mumble and go back to sleep 
"no that's not happening on my watch
If you don't get up I won't talk to you for a week!" 
"No!" I wake up yelling at the irritating voice who is hunter. 
"Ok let's go to the airport but first we need to go to yours while you get in the shower. I'll grab your clothes "

20 minutes later we arrive at my home and set straight up stairs I go into my bathroom while hunter picks my clothing out
While I'm in the shower I start singing 
" if there's something strange in the bathroom who you gonna call?

"hi" hunter said while holding back a laugh

"yea" he said snickering

"not my problem" he said then left the room leaving me with the clothes he picked out it was a pair of high waist denim shorts a white belly top that stops right at the top of the shorts wiyh a wolf on it my leather jacket and a checked shirt,a pair of tights and black high heeled boots
I tied the shirt around my waist and brushed my hair into a side plat then grabbed my phone my suitcase and duffle bags and set of to the airport 
"I'm going to miss you" mom said 
"ill miss you too" 
"Hey what about me?" hunter asked 
"ill miss you most hunty. I'll miss you most" 
Then I set of to my new home for a year.

Blour? Mag glanced at the information displayed by the omniscient door, and a hint of surprise appeared on his face.
"Is that Uncle Blour's voice?" Anna sat up with an elated look on her face.
Mag smiled and nodded as he said, "That's right, Blour's back. Why don't we go downstairs to greet them?"
"Yes!" Anna carefully emerged from under the blanket, and then tucked it around Amy before quickly putting on her little slippers and following Mag downstairs.
Mag switched on the light in the restaurant before quickly opening the doors.
Sally and Blour stood outside with the latter in female attire, and both of them were looking quite disheveled. Behind them stood close to 100 elves with their clothes in tatters. The autumn nights were quite cold, so many of the children among them were shivering.
Most of these elves were women and children, and they all appeared to be quite exhausted yet slightly fearful as they looked at Mag.
However, they then caught sight of the warm light in the restaurant, as well as the beautiful decor within the building, and their eyes lit up in unison. 
Mag couldn't help but falter slightly upon seeing this. For a split second, he had thought that he was looking at a group of refugees. In his heart, elves were all graceful beings that valued their cleanliness very highly; how had they been reduced to such a pitiful state?
Anna emerged from behind Mag, and she looked at the cross-dressing Blour with a hesitant expression as she asked, "U-Uncle Blour?"
"Anna… I… You see…" Blour leaned down and rubbed his hands together in a rather awkward manner as he looked back at Anna. He didn't think that his cross-dressing fetish was anything to be ashamed of, but he was still rather concerned that Anna would renounce him because of it, so he was scrambling for a way to explain himself.
Much to his surprise, Anna charged over and jumped into his arms before winding her little arms tightly around his neck.
Blour's mouth gaped open slightly as he stiffened on the spot, and only after a while did he slowly wrap his arms around Anna as a vibrant smile appeared on his face.
"I was afraid that you'd left just like Grandpa. I don't want you to go," Anna sobbed.
"I'm not going anywhere, so don't you worry." Blour patted Anna's back in a comforting manner.
After hugging Blour for a while, Anna let go and wiped away her tears before turning and throwing her arms around Sally.
"Don't cry, Anna." Sally wiped away the tears in Anna's eyes, and stroked her hair as a smile also appeared on her face.
"I'm glad you're back." Mag appraised the two of them with a smile, then turned to the elves behind them, and said, "From the looks of it, you've done something quite praiseworthy as well."
Blour looked into Mag's eyes with a beseeching expression, and said, "Boss Mag, I have a request; can you please cook a meal for all of my brethren here? They haven't eaten for two whole days, and they've walked all the way here. I'll pay for all of their meals."
Sally was also looking at Mag with an expectant look in her eyes. She opened her mouth to say something, but swallowed her words in the end.
Mamy Restaurant was a high-end restaurant. It was always kept pristine and tidy, yet these elves had been locked up in underground cellars for a long time, so they were all quite dirty and, quite frankly, rather smelly. They had been concerned that they'd encounter other mercenary squads that would hunt them down in the past two days, so they had been traveling without rest, thereby affording them no time to wash. As such, it would be very understandable if Mag were to turn down this request.
Anna looked at all of these elves, and tears began to well up in her eyes again. She didn't know any of them, but she had already guessed that they had to have been captured by those abhorrent demons, while Blour and Sally were the ones who had saved them.
Looking at them evoked within her memories of her grandfather. Only then did she understand why her grandfather refused to allow her to be captured even at the expense of his life, and she turned around to look at Mag with tears swimming in her eyes.
Mag looked at the elven children with a sympathetic expression on his face. He couldn't see any noticeable wounds on their bodies, but the inferiority and fear in their eyes tugged directly at his heartstrings. What kind of torture had these children endured to become like this? Those demons really did deserve to die!
"Come in, I'll cook for all of you." Mag stepped aside with a gentle smile on his face, leaving the entrance open to everyone.
Blour extended a deep bow toward Mag as he said in a solemn voice, "Thank you."
"Thank you, Boss." Sally also nodded as she expressed her gratitude.
"Uncle Mag is the best!" Anna looked up at Mag. Tears swirled in her eyes, but she forced them back in the end.
The elves entered the restaurant; due to limited number of seats, many of the elves could only stand. Some of the children managed to share a chair in twos, while others carefully sat on the ground.
The pleasant warmth in the restaurant made the elves a lot more relaxed, and they began to inspect their surroundings with curiosity in their eyes. The beautiful decor, the warm chandeliers, the intricate wall art… Everything was so surreal in their eyes after that nightmarish ordeal.
Even though they were feeling slightly more relaxed, the elves were still extremely subdued and self-conscious. Even the elves who were sitting the ground were kneeling as they did so, not wanting to dirty the floor with their shoes or take up any extra space.
Mag went upstairs before quickly returning. He looked at Sally with a smile, and said, "Go and take a bath, Aisha. I've prepared a set of clothes for you in the bathroom."
Sally wanted to refuse as she shook her head. "I'm fine—" 
However, Mag cut her off as he continued, "With so many customers, I need your help. In your current state, I can't allow you to serve food in the restaurant."
Sally looked at her bloodstained clothes and nodded before quickly heading upstairs.
"Boss Mag, do you need a hand from me?" Blour asked.
Mag shook his head with a smile as he replied, "You can take a seat. I'd never ask for help from one of my customers."
"Is Big Sister Aisha back?" Babla had heard what was going on downstairs, and she looked at all of the elves in the restaurant with a surprised look on her face.
"That's right." Mag nodded as he turned to Babla with a smile, and said, "I'll be requiring your help as well."
Soon, one cup of water after another flew out of the kitchen before landing in front of the elves with unerring accuracy. The water in the cups didn't even ripple in the slightest in the process, and all of the elves could only look on with astonishment and admiration in their eyes.
After taking a bath, Sally came downstairs in a floral qipao, and her dazzling beauty stunned all of the elves present even further.
Inside the kitchen, all of the stoves had been switched on, and Mag was cooking multiple dishes like a master chef. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, several portions of Yangzhou fried rice were ready; the rate at which Mag was cooking was simply phenomenal.
"These dishes are ready to be served," Mag said as he cleaned his pot, while Babla stared at the 20 portions of Yangzhou fried rice on the counter with her mouth gaping in shock.
That was so fast! It took Babla a while to collect herself before she returned to her senses, and she pointed a finger at the portions of Yangzhou fried rice, sending them flying out of the kitchen toward the elves waiting outside.


In Chaos City on the Norland Continent, there is a strange restaurant.

Here, elves and dwarves share tables. Beastmen are prohibited from making a din, and giant dragons can only seat around the tiny square in front of the restaurant. Even demons have to bring their own stools…
