The narration for the tournaments trailer was amazing, but it went behind just what was being said to what was being shown. Endless strips of stable land, deserts, mountains, tundra and actual floating islands. There were battling platforms placed in the strangest of places, and then civilizations that seemed stuck in a stone age. Their fur clothes clinging heavily to their body, and even though they all had different races to fall back on, they all just looked like the were prehistoric.

Terra truly was a land untouched by technology, but it had magic and it very much had conflicts. There were werewolves and vampires, demons and what looked like angels. These placed seemed to be a little bit more supernatural than Gaia and the universe she was in, but that's understandable, when your basing it on the timeline, magic or not, a bunch of things would be attributed to gods and weird voodoo by the people of this era.

After the trailer, another one for the (A.R.I) Was shown, especially with the pitch that streaming services would be available for players and people who would be more willing to watch the tournament rather than participate. Of course to enjoy the streaming service a monthly subscription was required, but it was affordable for everyone, but of course said service would also be limited as there were three stages to it.

 The basic subscription, the premium subscription and the premium VIP subscription, each one correlating to the amount of popularity and power the individual or guild being streamed had.
For example an ordinary player looking to make his way in Terra could be watched by others using the basic streaming service, but once said player has a modicum of Fame and is quite popular amongst others, his subscription service would be bumped up to the premium. Also players have to register for the streaming service, they'll sign a bunch of legal documents, but on e the game starts, they earn a portion of the proceeds from the subscription service and a little bit more from viewers willing to gift said player money for his or her efforts.

The premium VIP would have really famous guilds and players in it right from the start, a contract has probably been sent to all of them by now, and there's no way they would disagree as quite a bit of money can and will be earned from it. Also there was also a measure of security, from the premium subscription upwards, players with subscriptions of their own will not be able to stream other players within the tournament. This is so that the secrets of players would be protected, sure people from the real world will see and probably expose it, but that's an attempt to keep an element of surprise and have every guild and player be at the tip of their toes. All in all it as a well thought out plans, seems like a cash grab scheme to me, but nevertheless the augmented reality interface had more practical applications in real life than to just serve as a portable television.

I switched of the holographic screen in front of me, only for me to get hit on my thigh. I looked down at Ron, he was just staring at the screens and now I had turned it off, I didn't even notice he was there, I looked at the time and had to grimace, it was a little past 2am and we both should be asleep. But those eyes of his, they're impossible to say no to.

I don't care what you say or how cute you look, but after this we're both going to bed, deal!" he looked at my outstretched hand and then back to my face, then he raised his hands up asking me to carry him up. Of Terra that was released to the public and preparations for the guilds hoping to establish their kingdoms, this was so they could plan ahead.

Of course not all information about the lay of the land was given, but there was enough to understand a basic demographic and make a choice. And then Ron moved his finger, pointing to a spot at the north-western edge of a continent right in the middle of Terra. It was uneven like most continents tend to be, but it was in the shape of a half moon, and the spot Ron was pointing at was right at the beginning of a mountain range, close to the western sea, to the east was a push and expansive forest that actually expanded to the ocean, a little ways south was the beginning of a desert, and North was the mountain range.

The spot was covered with trees and green, showing that it was also a part of the forest, setting up anything there was akin to being in the middle of nowhere, the only place that there seems to be access to it, was from the desert in the south. This was not a detailed map, so it's hard to tell if they're any official roads leading to that spot, but seeing as this world was rather primitive I would say no. It was right in the middle of nowhere, however...…

"Ron my sweet boy you're a genius!" I said to him as I pulled him close and gave a big fat missing his cheek and hugged him tighter. He giggled, probably a little bit tickled by the small beard that had grown on my face(I need to shave that). Then he turned and said.

"Go play there?" I raised an eyebrow, lost descendants online since it's inception has only been open to 18 year olds and above due to it's very graphic and adult nature, however maybe it time we bent the rules a bit. I quickly typed a message to the virtual reality department with a detailed plan, then I turned to Ron and said.

"Don't worry, daddy will go make a playground for you there, and then you can come play." I said to him with a smile as he nodded and continued to stare at the map.

The spot he had chosen was pretty much isolated from the rest of the world, we might be quite far away from.
Civilization, but we had access to all of the natural resources we would need to survive. The sea to the west, a mountain to the north, a desert to the South and if all should go well, a forest to the east or rather completely around us. But it was not just the idea of the resources, it was the idea of a place where the dragons could hatch without being discovered too early, where they can grow, and learn and train with everything they would ever need made available to them.....my very own dragon army.

Then Dino sighed and, while smiling innocently said, "Thank goodness you realized it. Thank you for considering my feelings too."
Ivan smiled brightly and replied, "No problem, Dino. And thank you for not being mad at me despite what I just did. I hope you forgive me."
Dino shook his head and answered, "No, don't worry about it. I'm not mad at all."
"That's great!" Ivan exclaimed happily before standing up to pick up his clothes and dress up again. "I really hope you enjoyed spending your time with me today too."
Dino nodded and replied sincerely, "Yes, I did."
"I'm really glad to know that, Dino!" Ivan responded merrily while dressing himself up. "Oh yeah, that reminds me...May I ask how you feel about me?"
Dino blushed and broke his eye contact with Ivan before replying, "I...I'm sorry, but I'm still not sure about that yet. Will you please give me some time to think about it?"
"Sure, Dino! No problem!" Ivan replied cheerfully. "You can take your time, but I know and believe that you'll eventually fall for me."
"Thanks, Ivan!" Dino responded while smiling innocently and sweetly.
[I can see that Dino has not realized his feelings for me yet, so it's for the best that we did not do it yet.] Ivan thought while smirking as he finished dressing up.  
[It's a good thing that Ivan is so kind to stop himself from having sex with me.] Dino thought, feeling relieved.
"So, what do you want to do now, Dino?" Ivan asked.  
"What do I want to do? Hmm…" Dino uttered before thinking for a few moments. "How about we watch some shows on TV? Does this hotel have a Netflix subscription too?"
"Yes, it does," Ivan replied with a gentle smile. "Let's watch then. What kind of shows do you like?"
"I like action-packed or fantasy-themed ones!" Dino exclaimed excitedly. "But if there's none, then I guess...romance-themed ones?"
"Sure. Let's find movies that would suit your taste then," Ivan responded both merrily and excitedly.  
It took Ivan and Dino to finally find the movie that they both agreed to watch. They both decided to watch Fullmetal Alchemist, a live action movie that was based on a manga of the same name. The movie was in its original Japanese dub with English subtitles. Dino, being a fan of Japanese manga and anime, was fine with reading the English subtitles together with listening to the Japanese audio.  
"This is great!" Dino declared merrily while watching the movie. Then Dino turned to Ivan and asked, "Hey, Ivan, don't you think so?"
Ivan smiled and nodded before replying, "Yes, it is. I have never watched this before, but it's really good!"
"I'm glad to know that you like it!" Dino exclaimed merrily.
"And I'm even gladder that I watched this movie for the first time together with you, Dino," Ivan declared sweetly and joyfully.  
At that moment, Dino looked at Ivan's handsome face. The pupils of Ivan's eyes were dilated together with his bright smile, making Dino feel conscious and shy. In turn, Dino broke his eye contact with Ivan and continued to watch the movie. His face was also red from blushing.
[Oh my...He's looking at me like that again!] Dino thought with his face red from blushing.
[He's reacting like that again. How cute!] Ivan thought happily while gazing at Ersel closely. [I feel like kissing and embracing him again!]
At that moment, Ivan approached Dino before the former put his arm around the latter's shoulder. Dino, who was surprised, turned to look at Ivan, only to end up being kissed by the latter.  
[What?! He's kissing me right now?!] Dino thought in utter amazement while blushing. [But still...It feels so good…]
Then Dino closed his eyes and responded to Ivan's kiss. Both of them opened their mouths to lick each other's tongue. Dino could smell Ivan's breath that smells like mouthwash while also feeling the warmth and softness of the latter's mouth and tongue and vice versa. Ivan felt that his own manhood had hardened like a rock again, but he knew that he needed to control himself since he agreed with Dino that they would not be doing it just yet.  
[Ivan...I want him to continue kissing me like this.] Dino thought with his eyes closed while holding his breath as he and Ivan continued to kiss passionately.
[I'm really tempted to do it with him right now, but I have to control myself.] Ivan thought as he embraced Dino tightly while also continuing to kiss the latter.  
After several seconds, Ivan and Dino broke their kiss  while also staring at each other. Ivan saw that Dino's adorable face was red from blushing and his eyes were saying that he wanted more. On the other hand, Dino saw that Ivan's beautiful blue eyes were full of desire again just like what had happened previously. This made Dino feel nervous that Ivan might try to do it again.
"Ivan, please-" Dino uttered.
"Don't worry, Dino," Ivan declared while smiling gently, interrupting Dino. "I won't be doing it with you right now if you don't want me to. I understand that you have not realized how you feel for me yet. But please bear in your mind and heart that my feelings for you are sincere. I love you, Dino. I really, really love you."
Dino found himself unable to answer Ivan for a few moments. He did not know how to respond to it since it was the first time that a guy had confessed to him like this. Furthermore, the three wonderful and powerful words came from the Russian professional swimmer whom he has been a fan of for five years already. What made him feel even more confused was that his own heart was beating fast.
[Honestly, I don't know what I should answer him.] Dino thought with his face red while also not gazing directly at Ivan's eyes. [But still...My heart is beating fast.]
At that moment, Ivan took Dino's right hand and put it on his own chest, making Dino feel Ivan's heartbeat.
"Dino, can you feel my heartbeat?" Ivan asked in an attractive deep voice while smiling gently, with the pupils of his eyes also dilated. "It's beating just for you."


[Honestly, I don’t know what I should answer him.] Dino thought with his face red while also not gazing directly at Ivan’s eyes. [But still...My heart is beating fast.]

At that moment, Ivan took Dino’s right hand and put it on his own chest, making Dino feel Ivan’s heartbeat.

“Dino, can you feel my heartbeat?” Ivan asked in an attractive deep voice while smiling gently, with the pupils of his eyes also dilated. “It’s beating just for you.”

On Galactic Dark Net, drugs are one of the most commonly traded merchandise. There are thousands of types of drugs currently on the market, all with differing effects. Mental stimulating drugs can cause one to temporarily forget fear, and it is very popular among soldiers, as it allows them to feel like invincible titans and fight endlessly. Shockwaves, thrill, demon blade, are all popular types of mental stimulating drugs.
Light hallucination drugs can bring pleasure and, according to users, the feeling can be even better than having sex. Moderate hallucination drugs can come with some risk when used by ordinary people, and high hallucination drugs are limited to espers because only their bodies can handle the effects this type of drug can have. Pleasure, super stimulation, heaven, sex experience, these were all typical hallucination drugs found on the dark net.
Empowerment drugs are very useful in comparison to the two types previously mentioned, for instance Pyromancers can take some stimulants to quickly enhance their abilities and strengthen themselves for a short period. Higher level empowerment drugs can even increase your power index number, improving one's strength, reflex speed, and so on. Flaming phoenix, Frosty ice, Sensation, Mental burst, Nuclear drive, these are all essential empowerment drugs espers should have to improve their skills. Many super soldiers will bring a small medicine box with them that contains these drugs, in order to address sudden needs.
The dark net also sells a lot of drugs used on other people. Honesty potion can force someone to spill all his secrets at once, confusion potion can cause a married woman to mistake you for her husband, and temptation potion can persuade the most innocent woman take off her cloth...
According to Han's initial estimation, the GDN is selling over 100 thousand kinds of drugs, so if he wants to calculate the index number he can't take all of them into account. Instead, he will only be able to use the popular, most iconic ones to determine the general price for the industry. Han spent a whole month on GDN and chose 80 websites that are representative of the drug industry. From these websites Han picked out 650 of the most "Flagship" drugs to use as the drug index number's calculation foundation.
In addition to the current data, Han also needed to calculate the historic data. He set his daily working hour to 21 hours, with only a mere two hours to sleep, and one hour for personal hygiene and food.
After one month, Han had lost at least three pounds and dark circles had become common place around his eyes. June 8th came quickly, and the fresh index number that Han prepared a whole month for could finally be published. Han named himself Wind Speaker on GDC, which originated from a Hollywood movie he watched in his childhood. Shortly after, he published his first post on dark net and started nervously refreshing the page.
"It's actually pretty exciting." chuckled Han to himself.
The Index number for drugs has a resting value of 100, so if the number for a specific day is higher than 100, it means that the market is trading more frequently than normal resulting in an increase in price. If the number is below 100 then it indicates a drop in demand and an increase in storage available, signalling the sellers to start selling with discounts.
When the first visitor views Han's post, he almost jumped up happily! Han's post soon passed the 200 views bar, but no one replied... Did I do something wrong? Han thought to himself and started reviewing all his calculations.
Everyday Han keeps his schedule very tight so he can't always keep an eye on his post. From midnight to the following day's noon, Han worked hard to collect data in order to write the Index number for that day. Han worked furiously and completed today's number in 11 hours. He added to the post list, and at the same time he noticed that over 1000 people already visited Han's post and there are also two comments!
User "Galactic Solder 101" asked, "Drug index number? Reliable?"
But User "No way to get home so I slept" encouraged Han, "Wow man, you actually collected everything by hand that's impressive!"
Han hesitated, and he decided to reply these two users. But right before his fingers hit the keyboard, the screen flashed, indicating that a user donated 1 GC to Han! This user called "White horse not horse" said, "Although I'm not involved in drug businesses, I'm impressed with your hard work, you actually collected all the data for the past year to construct this index system. Although 1 GC isn't much but it's my token of appreciation."
Immediately, Han felt the urge to cry his eyes out!

Holy crap. Just to calculate the index number, Han did a ton of work, and the beginning was the time when Han needed the most encouragement and appraisal. Although White horse not horse only donated 1 GC, but it significantly increased Han's confidence and strengthened his determination to continue updating the index number no matter how hard it gets.
For the next half of the day Han didn't receive any more donation nor subscribers. But it was okay since White horse not horse's encouragement was already enough to keep Han going for a while. At midnight, Han visited all 80 websites again to collect the data. This time, it only took him 10 hours and 53 minutes, slightly faster than before. Han noticed that calculating Index is a bit tough in the beginning stage, but as soon as the model is established, workload will slowly decrease as proficiency goes up.
Now, Han's post already reached more than 10 thousand people! Aside from the horse guy, another two nice users donated 1 GC each. Now Han is worth 3 GC, which equals to 3750 UC on earth!
The first person to subscribe to Han's drug market index is a user called "Night Walker", and he subscribed on the fifth day of Han's first post. He didn't leave any comments, just simply transferred 3 GC from the forum's subscription function to subscribe for a month of index numbers.
Honestly, Han didn't set the subscription too high, 3 GC a month, a seasonal subscription discount lowers it to 8 GC for 3 months, high year subscription is 13 GC, and subscribing for the whole year is as cheap as 24 GC. The package totaled about 30 to 40 pages of detailed data. He hadn't ever worked so hard on a report, even for school...
His finger was shaking just before he hit sent, he was quite nervous about whether his first subscriber would be satisfied with his data. Beside the email function is Han's GC account, including the 3 GC subscription fee and other 8 users' donation, Han has made 11 GC which equals to 13585 UC already.
Every day, Han spent 11 hours generating the index numbers and the rest of his free time continuing to explore the drug market. He was hoping to find the drug markets hidden even deeper in the dark web, in order to expand the historic record of drug index numbers and improve on the existing calculation model.
Of course, hard work yields results, evident by the daily increase in subscriber numbers to Han's index number, and Han continued to meticulously generate daily index numbers, carefully protecting the hard-earned viewer base and saving every coin he earned.



When the last prodigy level esper on Earth disappeared, Earth was in deep trouble of becoming another species’ colony. During the year of 2075 on Earth, Han Lang logged into the largest hyperspace dark net market, and our story begins.
