Alchemy is the process of changing one substance to another through the use of energy. It is used for many things such as building machines and housing, creating medicine, or causing the collapse of a country through sheer force of will. This story is about Alchemy and the goal that every alchemist strives for; the completion of their great work.

Some true stories become so old that they fade into legends and with the passage of time, they just turn into myths. The story of Ishval is also like that. Why the Ishvalans consider alchemy a taboo? Why do we consider alchemy a disrespect toward all the creation of God? The answers to all these questions are at the ruins of Ishval City, and by Ishval, I do not mean the city which was destroyed by the Amestrian military in a civil war. The Ishval which was destroyed by the military is being reconstructed, but there existed another Ishval city, the true one, which was destroyed centuries ago, and at the heart of the city, there existed the temple of God Ishvala.

The city was very prosperous and was a global hub for trade. Traders from various countries used to come there for trade, in fact, many traders called Ishval the golden bird. But, there were not only rich people in the city, but there were also the poor who were living among them. Even though there was a difference in the lifestyle of the people, there was one thing common. They all worshipped God Ishvala. Everyone was allowed inside the temple and pray to the God of all creation. It's quite unbelievable when you think that how can such a prosperous city turned to ruin. Well, the reason was a single man and his desire.

It is believed that there was a man who came from some other land, and he brought the knowledge of alchemy with him. He selected only one individual and took that person with him to teach alchemy. After a few years, the Ishvalan man who went with the alchemist came back to the city. He started showing other people what he can do using alchemy, which fascinated other people. Now he started taking disciples and teach them alchemy, but even though everyone wanted to learn alchemy, it was not an easy task. Only a few people were able to learn alchemy. The new alchemists of Ishval then started using alchemy to fix broken houses during any natural disaster or fixing objects which got broken due to an accident. Alchemy was good until they fixed inanimate objects, but one day the master alchemists healed a dying old woman using alchemy. It's a taboo even among the alchemists to bring back someone from the dead or to perform alchemy on a human being. And the alchemist performed both. He did something which he was not supposed to do. And because of the sin he committed, the whole city had to suffer the wrath of God Ishvala.

After few years of the incident, God Ishvala appeared at Ishval in the form of a monster to punish all the Ishvalans who thought alchemy was a good thing. God Ishvala punished most of the alchemists and destroyed the temple. The God ordered the remaining Ishvalans to leave the city forever and never to perform alchemy again. From that day onward, alchemy was considered a taboo and no one ever practiced it. And each resident of the city left their home to build a new one at the place we are sitting right now.

[Ishval]

Scar finished up telling the story to a group of Ishvalan children sitting under a roofless building, which meant to be a temporary school. The actual teacher was standing beside Scar, listening to the story very carefully like other children present there. Her name was Sheela. She was young, and she was given the role of a teacher by the elders of Ishval. After Scar finished up the story, she looked toward him and smiled.

"Thank you very much, Sir, for giving some of your time to the children," Sheela said.

"It's my pleasure," Scar replied.

Meanwhile, a girl stood up and asked, "Where is the Old Ishval, Sir?"

Before Scar could reply, someone interrupted, "It's just a few miles away from here. How about we go there tomorrow, you can all see the magnificent work done by our ancestors."

It was Scar's Master who interrupted. He was standing at the entrance of the building.

Even after making peace with Amestris and rebuilding Ishval, Scar's Master looked the same. His head was still like a shiny cue ball and he still maintained a big mustache.

After hearing Master's offer, all the children jumped with happiness. And Upon watching his master, Scar went to him. Both of them then left the children with Sheela and went toward Master's house. While they were walking, Master smiled, "It's good to see you getting along with people"

"I am just trying to contribute something like everyone else," Scar said.

"You are the hero of Ishval after all, you have already contributed the most," Master praised.

Scar didn't want to be praised throughout the way, so he paused for a moment and asked, "So why did you came all the way to meet me in person?"

"You must be knowing about the Ishvalan Freedom Front or IFF," Master said.

"Yes…I was once like them, taking revenge from the military that destroyed my home, and killed my people…I can't believe that now I am helping the same military to rebuild my home," Scar said with disbelief.

"Have you heard about a man named Thomas Maxwell?" Master asked.

"No," Scar replied.

"According to the military sources, he is the current leader of IFF. Till now, IFF has killed almost 20 Amestrian soldiers in cold blood, they are even influencing other Ishvalans to join them," Master sighed and continued, "we were once a peaceful community, but now we are turning into terrorists. We can't afford another war son, we have already lost too much. If we lose any more, then I am afraid we can't heal."

In the meantime, they had reached Master's house. There was no door on the entrance, although it was covered with a red curtain. First, the master entered inside then Scar followed him into the house. When Scar entered, he saw a skinny Amestrian man sitting on a chair, it was Richard.

Richard was the maths teacher at Military School, who helped to kidnap Oliver. The military was searching for him for the murder of Oliver, and neither Scar nor his master was aware that he was being searched for the murder of a child.


Roy and Riza have a son, named Oliver whom they have hidden from the world. Oliver has grown knowing that Roy is his father, but he never got to know about his mother. When Riza decides to reveal that she is his mother, something terrible happens. Meanwhile, someone in Drachma is finally stepping into Amestris with his deadly army, now that he knows Father is dead.

Find out, whether Oliver will ever know, who is his mother. And will Riza ever get to listen, the word "Mother" or "Mom", from her son's mouth. And what has Father left behind, which can bring down his own legacy. And what is the role of Oliver in all these events. Is he the key to save Amestris or he is the doom?

When Bai Yun came to, he found himself standing in a large room. In front of him were dozens of rows of plants and medicinal herbs. Barely had Bai Yun found his footing when a voice sounded out inside the hall.
"You have to identify every plant and medical ingredient in this room and write three uses for each of them. Some of them are made by grafting various plants. You need to identify each plant that makes up the drafted plant. The answers should be written into the jade placed in front of the plant. You have half an hour. The more materials you identify, the higher your final score will be."
Ba Yun took a look around the hall after he heard this. He saw that there were hundreds of plants in this hall. And among them, Bai Yun recognized maybe five of them. Bai Yun then continued to tell stories about the two of them, and the times that they had met. But even after ten minutes, there was no response from the God of Alchemy.
Bai Yun sighed. "I was hoping it wouldn't come to this." Bai Yun said. "You know there is a story I know about you that I have kept hidden. This is a story that maybe you wouldn't mind if I told everyone. There was a day when you came to our mansion when father was out in order to meet mother. You had come in order to the infinitude heavenly thought technique. But mom wouldn't hand it over. So you did something."
Bai Yun stood and stared for a while. Not seeing any reaction, he continued.
"You know I can tell this story to everyone in the outside world." Bai Yu said. "So should I continue or-"
Just as he was about to continue a sigh rang through the hall. Then the entire hall started to transform and slowly fade. "There's no need to go any further, I believe you." Then the voice rang out one more time.
Bai Yun stood there and watched as the hall slowly disappeared. After a moment the entire hall changed into a small room. Of course, it was only small from the perspective of the earlier hall. It was over a hundred meters in each of the three directions. There was a small table in the center of the room, and a young man was sitting at the table. He glanced at Bai Yun as he appeared in the good.
"It's been a while uncle Qin." Bai Yun greeted the God of Alchemy.
"You were such a good kid." The God of Alchemy said. "Now you have even learned to blackmail people. What happened? How did you come in here? Why did your looks change? And why is your cultivation base so low?"
"It's a long story." Bai Yun said as he sat down opposite to the God of Alchemy. Bai Yun then spend the next half an hour explaining what happened to him. The God of Alchemy was quite surprised that Bai Yun was able to kill the devil emperor. This piece of the God of Alchemy was from just before the final battle and knew the strength of the devil emperor well.
He was also surprised by the fact that Bai Yun had managed to reincarnate. After Bai Yun explained everything that had happened to him since his reincarnation as well as the reason he came to find the God of Alchemy, he fell silent.
The God of Alchemy stared at Bai Yun for a while. Just as Bai Yun was wondering what he was going t do, the God of Alchemy finally asked him "What are you going to do with your life?"
Bai Yun was confused by the question. He stared at the God of Alchemy questioningly before answering "Just live normally I guess. Cultivate and become a titled god once again."
"Don't you have any other desires?" The God of Alchemy asked.
"What else is there?" Bai Yun replied.
"Let me ask you in another way. In your entire life other than fighting and training what have you done." the God of Alchemy asked.
Bai Yun was confused by the question. "What else is there?"
The God of Alchemy was exasperated with his answer.
"I meant have you ever loved." The God of Alchemy asked. "Have you ever lost anything. Have you ever wanted to desperately hold on to something, yet had to watch as it slipped through your fingers."
"No." Bai Yun said. "But why does it matter? All of that sounds quite horrible. Shouldn't you try to avoid such incidents?"
"You said that the people who are your family in this life have less experience than you." The God of Alchemy said. "But that is only with respect to your fighting experience. When it comes to life I am sure that they have much greater experience than you. That is why you should listen to them and not be dismissive as you currently are."
"You were born with the greatest talent in history as the son of some of the greatest and strongest people in the universe." the God of Alchemy continued. "In many ways, it gave you an advantage in life and a great outlook on the world. But in many ways, it also restricted your path. Unlike some, I never believed that you would be able to reach the titled god level without experiencing life. And I was right. You only managed to break through after you felt the pain of loss. I think that this life will help you a lot. I think you will go much farther than you could in your past life."
Bai Yun stared at the God of Alchemy for a while. He did not know what to say.
"It's fine. let's talk about happier things." The God of Alchemy said. "How far do you intend to go on the Alchemy path."
"I intend to go the distance." Bai Yun said. "This time I intend to reach the titled god level in Alchemy. Alongside the titled god level in other paths also."

You will have to reach that level on your own. So what I am going to do is to explain to you what it means. You may not understand it right now. Just remember everything I say."
Then the God of Alchemy spend the next hour explaining the key points regarding the final level of Alchemy. Bai Yun sat patiently and remembered every word he heard.
"Alright. That is that. I'll give you my legacy now." The God of Alchemy finally said.
Then the God of Alchemy slowly raised his hand. There a small cauldron appeared. This was the highest level legacy reward of the Alchemy path, Then the God of Alchemy slowly started to modify the contents of the legacy. The legacy was originally geared towards those at the dao step who had a great foundation in the alchemy path. But Bai Yun did not have it. So he needed to change the legacy in order to make it so that he would be able to accept it without any faults.
As time passed the small cauldron became more and more perfect. Complex patterns started to appear on it. At the same time, the God of Alchemie's soul incarnation started to become more and more transparent and fainter.
"Uncle Qin, what are you doing?" Bai Yun asked after seeing that something was wrong.
"I am not just adding the knowledge that you require. I am also adding my experience, my failures, and everything else that I have ever done in the alchemy path. This will make it easier for you to comprehend the alchemy path." God of Alchemy explained.
"But that is the same as putting a part of your soul into the legacy. This will cause your soul incarnation to become destabilized. You would die!"
The God of Alchemy laughed when he heard this. "What do you mean I would die." He asked. "I am already dead. All that is left of me is a soul incantation that cannot leave this legacy site. It doesn't matter if I exist or not. The important thing is that it will help you grow."
"Why is that important? Besides I don't need your help in rowing." Bai Yun replied.
The God of Alchemy only smiled. "You might have reached the titled god realm, but there are many things about this world that you don't know. Things that were hidden especially from you. If you want to know the truth about yourself, then you should find that crazy old man. Only he can truly explain the reasons for your existence."
Bai Yun was stunned when he heard this. He did not understand what the God of Alchemy was talking about. Was there some sort of secret behind his birth.
While Bai Yun stood there confused, the God of Alchemy had finished his task. A small exquisitely crafted cauldron stood in the center of his palm. It was slowly rotating while giving off a divine glow.
But the God of Alchemy also had to pay a certain price for it. The lower half of his body had disappeared, while the top half was mostly transparent by now. He was flickering like a candle in the wind.
"Quickly take it. I won't be able to hold it for much longer. Once I disappear, you will have to properly pass the trials in order to get it." The God of Alchemy said.
Bai Yun awoke from his stupor immediately. He looked at the God of Alchemy with a complex look in his eyes. He then stood up and kowtowed before the God of Alchemy before walking up to him and reaching out to the small cauldron without a word.
The moment Bai Yun's hands touched the cauldron, it melted as it passed through his body into the middle of his forehead. As Bai Yun stood there, he slowly let himself go and allowed the force of the legacy site to take him out of the dao repository.
The God of Alchemy watched as Bai Yun slowly disappeared. The surroundings also became dark and he also started to fade away. He then spoke aloud as if to no one.
"Old man I think you were wrong at that time. I think the reason this brat was born is just beginning."

In the Grand War Long Tian killed the Devil Emperor but died alongside him when he self destructed. 

Billions of years later Long Tian awakens to find that he had reincarnated. Careful to not make the mistakes of the past, he vows to cultivate and return to the peak of cultivation once again.

But things may not progress as he desires. For as he awakes, so does the darkness.

"We don't necessarily need to use hot air balloons. If we use another gas, a gas that is even lighter than air, we can do the same thing. Back at the Akkad Alchemy College, Lars once again launched the research and development of the steam engine. He, of course, led the project.
After a few initial failures, the steam engine was successfully manufactured. Although it was not efficient at first, after some improvements and a redesign, it finally was fully operation!
Early steam engines were used in industrial production and industrial spinning, which further promoted the progress of the workshop. Throughout Tephis, a variety of workshops that were using steam engines as power engines began to emerge.

Angor was an outsider. The Nether City[1] was discovered tens of thousands of years ago, so the lovers' story had to come from that age as well, if not earlier. There was no point minding the grand finale of such an old story.
Nothing else worth noting in these letters. He needed to search the other places.
Angor checked around Margaret's room again. He did not find anything, but he had a question about some details in the room.

Angor took out some more books, which were all alchemy ones. Most of them were valuable, unique copies which could not be found in Sunders' collection.
He was filled with joy. Now, this was an unexpected treasure!
After recording all of the books, Angor realized they were more valuable than he thought. Some of the alchemy theories were only applicable to legendary wizards or someone in higher ranks. He was sure these books were beyond priceless. Whoever could have collected these?
After finishing the books, Angor walked to the other items with a happy mood. He did not know what these were before, but after seeing some of the alchemy information in the books, he recognized that these things were mostly related to alchemy applications. High-quality ones.
It was a pity that he could not take them away. For one, they might just disappear like all the other previous items. Besides, they were pretty large, he could not possibly carry them with him.
So he had to give up in the end. He was still happy about acquiring valuable books.
Leaving the bedroom, Angor stepped into the last room on the second floor.

As for the owner of this place, Angor had an idea that he was a high officer of some sort since he took care of such important files. He might even be a core manager of Nether City.
These were unimportant though. Nether City was a bunch of ruins now.
Angor closed the glass doors of the bookcase and slowly moved to the desk. He saw an opened book and a quill placed in an ink bottle when he entered the room. Seemed like someone was writing on the desk.
Angor sat on the chair and read the book.
It was a notebook. The current page was half-finished. Its owner had probably left it here for some reason.
Angor flipped to the first page to check what was written.
The first line on the front page of the book surprised Angor for good.
Singularity Dispersive Meditation.
This was a meditation book?! And the first of its kind Angor ever saw in the Nightmare Realm. This was the center of the underground maze, so could it be the special channeling method book Sunders mentioned?
Angor became excited. If so, he would begin his path of wizardry with the help of this book!
He wanted to read on. However, his teacher's words reminded him that even if he memorized the book down to every single word in the Nightmare Realm, he would forget everything upon returning to the wizarding world.
Angor calmed down, and carefully photographed every page of the book with his hologram tablet. Once this was done, he finally sat down to read it.

 Alex continued stroll over to the walls. 

It seems that alex is interested in Alchemy Knowledge,' Huyan Ming thought, smiling as he followed Alex. Stories about immortals have shaped human history since the beginning of time.
Zeus and other gods of Olympus were immortals. Adam and other early human ancestors were written in religious books as humans who lived up to 900 years old. In the scripture, following the epoch of Noah and the Great Flood, was a period of time where humans, as punished by God because of their evil ways, could no longer live past 120 years old. This had been my basis for writing the story of 'The Alchemists'.
Alchemy is a pseudoscience (considered as not real science) believing that the entire universe is moving toward a perfect state where gold, a metal known for its indestructible properties, is the most perfect substance.
With this principle, alchemists believe that by understanding the secrets of the unchanging gold, they would eventually grasp the key to warding off diseases and organic decay, thus creating humans with physical perfection: the immortals.
 The Alchemists tried to find or come up with the chemical formula for the Philosopher's Stone which functions to convert metals into gold and make the Elixir of Life/Youth,  a drug that cures all kinds of and allows them to live longer than humans in general.
Topics about chemistry, spirituality, and astrology became the focus of medieval alchemy. Until the 18th century, alchemy was considered a serious branch of science in Europe. Isaac Newton devoted much of his time to this field of study.
Other prominent alchemists from the Western world are Roger Bacon, St. Thomas Aquinas, Tycho Brahe, Thomas Browne, and Parmigianino. It was this alchemy that later became the foundation of 18th-century modern Chemistry.
WHAT IF, the alchemists actually succeeded in finding the formula for the immortality potion and restoring the human bodies into their original perfection, so they could be like their ancestors who used to live past 900 years?
This is the story of the Alchemist clan who discovered the elixir of youth and has lived as immortals since 1450, ruling the world from behind the shadows and at the same time spreading rumors that alchemy is a failed science.

WHAT'S IN THIS BOOK SERIES?
In VOLUME 1 (254 chapters), you will be introduced to the Alchemists. The story is light-hearted and heartwarming. I intentionally started the series with romance to put us in a good mood before getting ready for the intense Volume 2.
In VOLUME 2 (350 chapters), you will meet more of the Alchemists and witness their internal conflict for power. This volume is quite intense but also passionate.
Later, we will have light hearted side stories (100 chapters) about the side characters before we continue to Volume 3.
In VOLUME 3 (approx 200 chapters), the Alchemists will face an enemy who found out about their secrets and wanted to destroy them. This will be the most intense part of the series.
Each Volume (except for the side stories) is an independent book, related to one another but can be enjoyed individually. If you like short novels, you can just read per volume. If you are into romance, go for Volume 1, if you like more action and sci-fi go for Volume 2. But if you enjoy reading long novels, you can just read the whole series. It's very flexible.
I could choose to write 3 different novels but opted against it because I am a practical person. Since the stories are connected, why not let readers have the whole series under one title? It is also for ranking purposes. Usually, once a novel is completed, the ranking will drop, I don't want that to happen so soon.
So, please bear with me and give this book a year to reach its final destination, starting in May 2019.  I intentionally only locked it from chapter 176 so you could enjoy so many free chapters and decide if you would like to invest more time and SS to continue reading.

Di Jiu saw that the alchemy master card Jue Yan had received was an orange jade card.
Jue Yan obviously did not expect Di Jiu to be able to pass the test. Thus, he took the third-grade alchemy master card, bowed before the examiners, and then turned around and laughed at Di Jiu before he walked out of the hall.

She walked over hurriedly when she saw the shop assistant trying to stop Di Jiu. Although the Star Elixir Dispensary was not huge, there were still three stories in the building. Huo Qianqian led Di Jiu directly to the third story.
There was a big door in the middle of the third story with three words written on it: Star Alchemy Room. Huo Qianqian stood at the door. She sounded a little excited as she said, "Senior Hui, a third-grade alchemy master is here for the recruitment test."
"Come in." An elder's voice came from the room. Di Jiu saw a sorrowful elder with only a few strands of hair sitting in front of the cauldron when the door opened.
"Alchemy Master Di, please enter the room with me." Huo Qianqian's tone was extremely polite as she spoke to Di Jiu using voice transmission. "Alchemy Master Di, Elder Hui used to be a grade-four alchemy master of the Star Elixir Dispensary. Unfortunately, his alchemy Dao was destroyed during an alchemy battle, so he is unable to refine elixirs now."

"I won't." Di Jiu waved. He knew that he had to be a little serious about the test because it would determine his pay and status in the Star Elixir Dispensary in the future.

On a well developed city called Paseo, there's a young guy who is really excited to get on college. He is a Bachelor of Science Major in Applied Physics student. He really wants to change the world that he tried to make an innovation that he thinks his life will get better. He is 5 feet tall, with white skin, good looking guy with braces on teeth, he is also wearing glasses. He tried to invent a floating car before but it didn't work. 

It's now 6am in the morning. He wake up and stretch his body. He was so excited in his first day of class. He is really optimistic and wants to know how many things he will learn today.


"Hi, Mom!" Dane said. "Dane, why are you so early? you're first class is 8am?" her mom said.

"Mom, I'm just want to be the earliest student in class. I like to know what's the room looks like hahaha" he replied.


He finish his breakfast, a soft creamy egg omelette with sweet and good hot chocolate. He takes a bath and exact 6:30 am, he ride on a luxurious car going to Paseo State University. 

"Sir Dane, its rush hour, there's a heavy traffic right now, this is a great idea to go on school early." His driver said. 

"Yeah, I will not let myself be late on my first class" he replied.

His family is rich. His dad have own hospital and a well-known Neurologist. He is living on a luxurious life that he is able to get what he wants. Even though he was rich, Dane is so humble. He always listen to his dad's advise. " Be thankful on what you have and learn to put yourself on the other person's shoes"

"We are here now, sir David. Goodluck on your first day!" Driver said. "Thank you, I hope this day will be a great day!" Dane replied.

He is 16 years old right now. Full of positivity, full of hope, hungry for knowledge and wants to be a greatest phycisist in the future.

After he finished attending two classes, he is now attending on his General Physics class. 

"Guys, before we end our class, I just want to share with you a trivia. Do you know that we have electricity in our body?" Professor Clin said.

Students is talking each other and Dane is thinking what his professor said.

"It is produced when a positive and negative atom is out of balanced. Human skin and hair has it and it can accumulated electric charges, can you guess what is it?" Professor said with a smile in his face.

" I think I've read about it before but I can't recall it. Did you know that Dane?" Biston said. He is Dane's classmate. A long hair guy that loves to play guitar. He also love science that he created a scientific security system on his house. They became friends immediately when they find out that they have same interest in science.

" I don't know either" Dane replied. 


Professor Clin: "that's static electricity! I just found it interesting to tell you guys. "


Some students amazed on that facts.  While other students is talking each other about these facts, one student raised her hands and ask the professor. " Professor Clin, do you believe in alchemy?"



" If you will ask me, I believe in the fact that alchemy has been a part of philosophy and science from the past century. One of its main purpose is, to covert materials into a noble element like gold. To find a universal elixir as well. It is seemingly a magical process of transformation." professor said.


"What is that universal elixir Professor?" Dane asked.


"Well... It's the philosopher's stone. They believe that you can have an eternal life using it" he replied.


Dane became interested on alchemy and wants to know more about it. After that day, he started searching about this matter and see if it was true, especially about the universal elixir or philosopher's stone.
