Honestly, it's just bland. I wasn't even going to read it but for the sake of the Daily Recommendation Fastpast, I felt compelled to do so. The writing quality is just so bland. There's just no description, no vitality, nothing that can spark up the writing. The author just writes things in, but doesn't take the effort to describe or elaborate on the topic. Maybe, my expectations are unfounded, judging by the incredibly high average rating on the novel, but I find it unbearable. Regarding, character design, story development and world background, I really have nothing to address. Writing quality surmounts all redeeming qualities of this novel. Evenmore, most of these characters feel ingenuine.

Very well written novel. In terms of writing quality, it is the cream of the crop on this platform. Nicely crafted characters and world background. The only thing working against it is the irregular updates and cliché tropes.

Usually, I would write lengthier reviews, but I'm making this one brief. The novel is kind've crap. Truth be told, there is definitely merit to it. The weapon styles and initial introduction was really captivating and intriguing. However, the more I read, the more unimpressed I became. The writing quality slowly eroded and the introduced set of characters all had lackluster archetypes. The entire "set of protagonists" are just a clear ripoff of almost every other book with a similar prose. For me writing, as a native English speaker, grammar and flow are 2 important aspects that are strong determinants in judging the bearability of online web novels. I know a lot of people on this platform aren't native, and so if this is the case, then this book is yours to read. But it's just the weak "flow" and the way outlandish dialogues coupled with edgy monologues that just wrecks this book.

This is an excellent, well-crafted book. For me there are definitely some flaws, concerning writing quality and character design. The writing is not perfect, especially in later chapters-- with minuscule grammar flaws and such. With story development, and world background, it is on point. The idea of using a system has been repeated throughout this platform, but the author transforms the system and incorporates it into a game. The idea itself is intrinsically unique especially with the introduction of the elder tree and it's withering, which allows for the creation of a strong premise. However, there are still components that are unclear-- the final question. How do you win? There are rankings, there is a first place spot, but in the end, how is the inheritors of the final system determined. With character design, the main character and Kai are the only two characters. There is definitely some degree of emotion and empathy towards these characters, but I'd regard them as lacking a bit of depth. The characters (Zero primarily) are marketed as tricky and strategic, but display a lack of emotion concerning anger, fear, or frustration. There should be a small addition to the character's internal feeling, without writing, "that I am happy.. I am frustrated." Overall, this is a great novel, and I strongly encourage the author to continue writing.
