Wouldn't a stronger first stage pokemon be better early like Absol, Kangaskhan, Scyther, Pinsar, Heracross, Tauros, etc. And then catch a pokemon with high potential later, or would they be too rare?
[A/N: Did you guys think the decision was pretty reasonable? Even thought Honedge isn't a psychic type you can't disregard his compatibility with telepathic talking mid battle, Aegislash who could seamlessly switch between his stances would be chaotic for the opponent]

An owl sage who MC can learn sage mode from would be cool and avian creatures being the natural predator of the other sage creatures could create some interesting lore and interactions. Also does MC's butterfly effect cause Shira to have more access to training as a civilian or is he still isolated coz he only knows taijutsu, coz he should be able to become as strong a guy lowkey with his talent if he has the support.
