We waited a while until the two ships got to the coast where we were at.
It had been a total of three days since I moved Roger's crew from the forest, and on the second day, Roger's ship was the first ship to arrive on the shores of the coast. Roger was jovial to learn about our encounter with the humanoids. However, he wasn't happy to learn that some of the men had died in the process of getting here, but he never took it to heart.
"They knew the risks of journeying through the seas. So this was to be expected," Roger said after hearing the story.
"Thanks for lending your men, it would have been a chore to organize the crew like this," I promptly thanked Roger.
"No problem! We were simply returning the favor after you helped us find the Lost City of Gold!" Rayleigh added.
We kept conversating like that till the start of the third day, in which the ship filled with my crew slowly began to emerge from the horizon. I was relieved to find that the crew was unscathed for the most part. Stussy and Pato stood on the bow of the ship, and Stussy was waving happily at me while holding Pato. I let out a rare smile before waving back.
Soon, the Roger Pirates got on board and left Skypiea. Leaving us there with one more thing to do before we could follow suit.
"Why aren't we leaving Skypiea yet? We got everything that we needed!" Pato complained.
"There's one more thing that I want to do before we leave," I announced, "Kane, Brok. I want to show you something."
I promptly unrolled the map that we had used to locate the Devil's wood. It wasn't littered with markings so it had a clearer image of Skypiea and some minor islands that happened to be nearby. The problem was that there wasn't exact evidence indicating the location of Birka. Matter of fact, the only time that the anime mentions Birka was when Enel mentioned how he destroyed the island after he got the Devil Fruit.
So it was going to be more of a hassle to find the exact location of the island from what we already knew about it. It was just an island that was located on the southeast of Skypiea, it wasn't very detailed in description. However, the island's general location was all that we would probably need.
"We're looking for an island around here called Birka, they have something that I want," I explained, "I want you to be very careful when approaching them, antagonizing the island will be more annoying compared to befriending them."
Soon, the journey to look for Birka began. It would take a couple of days to get to the south east area of the island because we were a few days out from the area. We were currently on the west side of the island. It was a few hours out from the mountain that we had used to get to the Lost City. So we needed to sail around the island so that we could get to that area of the island.
That was what we did.
It took a couple of days to get to the south east side of Skypiea.
When we got there, I spread out my Observation haki as far as I could so that I could sense any islands that had multiple presences. I was fortunate enough to find one that wasn't too far off.
I quickly directed the ship towards that direction, and took the ship to the island's shore. Before we could actually dock there. I decided to go to the island directly instead of sending the crew over to it. I landed directly in the middle of the village. Scaring all the villagers before they ran away.
While I contemplating the error of my dynamic entry, a man who I had assumed to be the Village chief approached me cautiously.
"Who are you? What are your intentions here?"
"I have a question, do you happen to know the location of the island of Birka? I'll be out of your hair as soon as you answer," I replied.
"Birka? It's the next two islands over east from here, but it is a very strong isolationist island that doesn't welcome villagers. So, why go there?" The village head answered.
Using my Observation haki, I could tell that the man had been telling the truth. So I immediately left without saying anything else towards the man. The sooner I could get to the island, the better.
Before we left the coast to sail to the south-east side of the island. I had decided to leave the Devil's Wood on the coast to increase the speed at which we could get to and from Birka. It wasn't a smart decision on my part because things could have been easier if I took the wood with me. However, another problem arose.
I had forgotten to get some help with the Dial.
Tom had given me a dial earlier that was supposed to help me with moving the Devil's wood. I didn't know how to use it because I had forgotten to ask the Old man who we met earlier. So it was going to be a hassle to go back to the village to ask for advice.
"Maybe the Birkan's know how to use it," I muttered as we continued sailing.
We soon reached the island of birka after an extra day of sailing. The island itself didn't seem to be too large, but it was big enough to host a huge village that I was capable of seeing from the ship.
"So this is the island of Birka," Stussy muttered out loud.
"What exactly do we need from this island that you left the Devil's Wood on Skypiea?" Ken asked curiously.
"Well, since you all are so curious. I'm here to get a Devil Fruit," I announced out loud.
"What?! There's a Devil Fruit here?!"
"How the hell did he know?"
"I hope I can eat it!"
"You moron! You don't even know what kind of Devil Fruit it is to begin with!"
Comments like these immediately erupted from the crew soon after my announcement. They were all shocked and curious as to how I had found out this information. However, the one who was most curious of all was none other than Stussy.
"How'd you know?" Stussy asked quizically, "this isn't the first time that you've pulled a stunt like this."
"No need to worry, just some lucky guesses here and there," I shrugged off her questions with a vague response.
I immediately landed on the island so that I could evade any potential questions that Stussy would've asked later. No sooner had I landed my feet on the island, I immediately felt the presence of someone watching me. It wasn't just by the bare naked eye, but it was through Observation haki, meaning that there was a haki user that resided within the island.
I was curious, in the anime, the subordinates of Enel had all been users of Observation haki. I wouldn't be too surprised if this island was full of Observation haki users. It would be something that I was soon going to find out.
I used Observation killing to stop the gaze of the foreign presence, and as soon as I did so. An army of men made there way towards me. They had a mixture of Bows, swords, spears and cannons as they made their way towards me.
"This is interesting."
