Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After my motivational speech to Fleur, we both looked at each other with an affectionate and happy atmosphere surrounding us, and I could tell by the sparkle in Fleur's eyes that the things I said to her were imprinted deep in her heart.
However, our moment was interrupted by the 8-year-old girl who we had forgotten was next to us.
"Hmm, are you guys dating?" Gabi asked with a curious look.
""Huh?"" and Fleur and I turned to her in surprise.
"I... We... What?" Fleur stuttered, being caught off guard by her sister's question.
"I asked if you were dating" Gabi repeated the question, thinking that her sister didn't understand her the first time.
But hearing it again only made Fleur even more disconcerted.
"Why are you asking that?!" the eldest Delacour asked in shock, and her voice came out a little louder than she wanted.
"Well, because you talking reminded me of mom and dad, because you were looking at each other while smiling" Gabi started to respond, tilting her head, "And also because you are holding hands"
And Gabrielle's response made Fleur blink before looking down, noticing that we were still holding each other's hands.
And Fleur hurriedly let go of my hands, placing hers behind her back as she looked away embarrassed, with her cheeks dyed completely red.
And this reaction confused Gabi, who was looking at her sister with an innocent and confused look, which made Fleur even more nervous.
And realizing that Fleur wouldn't be able to answer the question asked by the smaller Veela, I decided to answer for her.
"No Gabi, we're not dating" I said to the little girl with an amused smile.
"Aww" and Gabi pouted sadly, "Why not?"
"Because we're just good friends" I replied, "And you should only date someone you really like"
"But don't you two like each other?" She kept asking.
"Well, yes," I nodded, not noticing how Fleur's head turned quickly in my direction as she looked at me with wide, hopeful eyes, "But that's a different kind of liking, and it's not the romantic liking needed for dating."
And hearing this, Fleur felt discouraged for a few seconds, but that soon passed, as she was determined to change that.
"I don't understand… What's the difference?" Gabi asked, and I could see the innocence in her eyes.
And even though I had a huge understanding of emotions and feelings, explaining the difference between types of liking was difficult and a little complex for me.
And as this was a complex subject, I knew it would be almost impossible for Gabi to understand this, but that didn't stop her from continuing to look at me with big bright eyes waiting for my answer.
"Err... Well..." I started to say, trying to find the right words to say to the little French girl.
And now that I found myself completely cornered I did what anyone does when they don't know how or what to respond to a curious child.
"You will understand when you are older" I said to Gabi.
"Huh?" And she blinked, not expecting that answer.
But without saying anything else I patted her head, smiling, pleased with myself.
And when Gabi realized that this was the only answer she would receive from me she huffed, crossing her arms with a cute pout.
And Fleur, seeing this, laughed lightly.
'He's amazing at dealing with children' she thought, finding it very cute and attractive.
"But well" I started to say, wanting to change the subject quickly before Gabi decided to ask other complicated questions, "I already said what I had to say to Fleur, so I think you should go back to your carriage, since it's still cold out here and you two need to warm up."
"You're right," Fleur nodded. She then tilted her head and looked at me curiously, "And you Ethan, what are you going to do after this?"
"Oh, I'm going to spend time with my family" I replied.
"Ah yes, your family is here" Fleur nodded, before a confused look appeared on her face, "Wait, but aren't they... Hmm... What do you call the Non-magiques here?"
"Muggles," I replied helpfully.
"Yeah." she nodded, "Aren't they Muggles?"
"Uhum" and I responded with a nod.
"Well then how are they here? Isn't Hogwarts enchanted to keep out Muggles?"
"Actually the castle is enchanted so that Muggles cannot see it, but if a Muggle enters the castle grounds accompanied by a wizard or witch, he or she will be able to see the castle normally" I explained.
"I understand, but isn't there a rule that prohibits Muggles from entering here?" she continued questioning.
"How do you know that?" I asked looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, I read about it in a book called Hogwarts: A History" she replied.
"Really?"
"Oui, I wanted to research more about the black lake because of the second task, and the librarian at your school highly recommended this book to me, and as I found it interesting I ended up reading it all" Fleur explained.
"Hmm" I nodded in understanding, "Well, in that case you're right, there is a rule prohibiting Muggles from entering the school, but Headmaster Dumbledore made an exception for my parents."
"He did that?" she asked in surprise.
"Yes, and he probably did it to make me happy, and I guess that could be considered a privilege given to me for being a champion" I shrugged, with a slight smile.
"Well, apparently I'm not the only one receiving these champion privileges then" Fleur said, looking slightly at Gabi while hugging her with one arm.
She then looked back at me, "But then, where is your family?"
"They are waiting for me next to the stands" I replied to her, and then a thought came to mind, "Would you like to meet them?" I asked.
And my question made Fleur blink in surprise, "Meet them?" she repeated.
"Yes, do you want to meet my family?" I asked again.
And instead of what I expected, Fleur didn't answer me directly.
'Meeting Ethan's family... Meeting his parents...' was what Fleur was thinking, a little nervous and excited.
'Wait, didn't Ethan ask that girl named Luna to give a warning to his family? So doesn't that mean she already knows his parents?' and with this realization Fleur felt a certain discomfort, feeling that once again she was being surpassed by the blonde Ravenclaw girl.
And with that, Fleur's danger sensor beeped, and her determination and competitiveness began to awaken within her.
"Huh… Fleur?" I called out to her, worried about her silence.
And that brought the elegant girl out of her thoughts, making her look at me.
And before I could ask her if everything was okay, she smiled at me.
"I would love to meet your family" she said, which made me blink.
But soon after that I also smiled, "Great" I said, and then I turned to the younger Delacour, "What about you Gabi? Do you want to meet my family? I have a younger sister who is almost 7 years old, and I know you will love meeting her."
And Gabi's eyes lit up when she found out that I had a sister who was almost the same age as her.
"Oui, I want it!" she replied excitedly.
"Okay" I said with an amused look, "Then in that case let's go, they are waiting for us"
And then the two Veela sisters and I started heading towards my family.
And it wasn't very difficult to find my family, since I already knew where they were and I could feel the magic of Cele and the others who were with them.
And arriving next to the stands I could see my family with Nick, Penny and Luna waiting for me, and when my family noticed my approach they immediately smiled.
"Mom, Dad" I said, going over to them both and hugging them.
"You finally arrived, I was already thinking that you went to celebrate with your fans and forgot about us" my mom joked.
"Oh no, I would never forget you... And besides, the celebration with my fans will only start at night" I winked at my mom, who snorted in amusement.
"But then, changing the subject, what did you think of my performance in the second task?" I looked at my parents expectantly.
And that question immediately got them excited.
"You were amazing!" my dad exclaimed with a big smile.
"Yes, this tournament is already in your pocket!" My mom proclaimed, quite proud of me.
And seeing the trust they had in me, I smiled, feeling very happy and cared for.
And then it was at that moment that my mom finally noticed the two girls behind me.
"Hello, I'm Sarah Night, Ethan's mother" she greeted Fleur and Gabi with a kind and friendly smile, noticing that the older one seemed a little nervous.
"Hello Mrs. Night, I'm Fleur Delacour, and this is my sister Gabrielle" Fleur said, introducing Gabi and herself.
"I know," my mom said, walking over and taking one of Fleur's hands, "You were amazing on the first task. That dragon didn't stand a chance against a girl as brave as you."
And Fleur blushed when praised by my mom.
"You flatter me Mrs. Night" Fleur said humbly.
"Oh, no Mrs. Night," my mom waved her hand dismissively, "You're clearly a friend of my son's, so call me Sarah."
"Oh... Huh... Okay, Sarah" Fleur said somewhat uncertainly, but at the same time relieved.
'I guess that means she liked me' she thought, considering it a victory.
"Well, you can call me Joshua too" my dad said, joining the conversation.
"Hello Joshua" Fleur greeted my dad with a smile.
And she noticed that he was a little affected by her Allure, but he quickly recovered and ignored it, which was comforting to her.
And while Fleur and my parents were talking, Gabi kept looking at Cele, who was also looking at her with curiosity and interest.
"Hi, I'm Gabrielle, but my friends and family call me Gabi" Gabi introduced herself to my sister, extending her hand to her.
"And I'm Celestia, but you can call me Cele" the little Night said, smiling as she shook Gabi's hand.
And their initial interaction was short, but I could feel some kind of friendship growing between them.
'Urg... That's a lot of cuteness all together' I thought, not knowing whether to cover my eyes so as not to die from the excess cuteness, or whether to squeeze their cheeks.
And if I looked at Penny and Luna I would have seen the same reaction coming from them.
End.
