As the enemy launched their attack, Reiki quickly guided Nozuki to a safe position. Namikaze Minato and the others took the brunt of the confrontation, facing off against the six elite-level opponents. The battle was intense, and Reiki knew that any attempt by him or Nozuki to intervene directly would only disrupt the focus of Minato and the others.
"Reiki, are we just going to stand here and do nothing?" Nozuki's voice was tinged with frustration as she watched their comrades fight against overwhelming odds.
"Stay calm," Reiki said, his eyes reflecting a hint of calculation. "In a battle like this, we focus on support and strategy."
The fight raged on, with Aburame Kan struggling to keep up against three opponents. His chakra reserves began to dwindle as he controlled an army of insects to counterattack.
"Space Operator!" Reiki's voice rang out as he swapped places with a nearby branch and Aburame Kan, pulling him out of immediate danger.
"Master Kan, take these recovery potions and stamina boosters," Reiki said, quickly administering vials to Kan. "And here's a rampage potion for your insects and three thousand miniature explosive tags they can carry."
Kan blinked in confusion as Reiki's hands moved rapidly, providing him with tools and treatment. The enemy paused momentarily, surprised by Kan's sudden extraction and Reiki's unexpected appearance.
Before the enemy could react, Nozuki unleashed a series of jutsu to create a barrier, giving Kan a moment to regroup.
"Alright, Master Kan, get back in there," Reiki said as he activated his jutsu, "ROOM: Slaughterhouse," sending Kan back into the fray.
The silence was shattered by a series of explosions as Kan's insects carried and deployed the explosive tags throughout the battlefield. The air rippled with detonations, throwing the enemy into disarray.
Reiki turned his attention to Akimichi Choza, who was struggling against his attackers. "ROOM: Slaughterhouse!" He transported Choza out of harm's way.
"Take these," Reiki said, thrusting potions into Choza's hands. "A high-grade rampage potion without side effects, a strength-enhancing potion, and this one for speed."
Before Choza could question it, Reiki had already returned him to the fight. With the effects of the potions coursing through his body, Choza transformed into a towering force, driving back his opponents with newfound vigor.
"Impossible! Where did this sudden surge in chakra come from?" one of the enemy shinobi shouted, moments before being flattened by Choza's powerful strike.
Minato, meanwhile, fared better than most. Even under dual attacks, his quick reflexes and teleportation jutsu allowed him to hold his ground. As Choza and Kan began overpowering their foes, Minato's battle shifted to clean-up mode.
In under two hours, the team had neutralized four of the six enemy shinobi, with the remaining two taken captive.
"Is it over?" Minato asked, turning to where Reiki and Nozuki stood.
Reiki nodded and rushed to Minato's side. "Brother Minato, you're injured. Let me treat you immediately." Without waiting for a response, Reiki applied healing salves and administered recovery potions.
Akimichi Choza and Aburame Kan received similar treatment, courtesy of Reiki's extensive supply of potions. Within minutes, they were not only healed but revitalized, looking as though they hadn't fought at all.
The three seasoned ninjas exchanged glances. They had never experienced such swift recovery during missions. In the wars they'd fought, medical support was always stationed far from the front lines.
"Alright, we're done here," Reiki announced. "This mission was rated A-level, right? Considering the circumstances, I'd argue it qualifies as S-level. Now, let's talk costs."
Reiki pulled out a small notebook, causing the others to raise their eyebrows.
"Aburame Kan, the cost of explosive tags, potions, and treatment comes to 320 million yen. Choza, your potion and treatment fees are 210 million yen. Minato, your treatment alone is 120 million yen."
He extended his hand. "Payment, please."
The three shinobi were stunned into silence. Sharing mission expenses like this was unheard of.
"I'm just demonstrating the value of having a medical ninja on your team," Reiki said, feigning a hurt expression. "Next time, I'll only intervene when absolutely necessary, but the cost will be higher. This time, the bill barely covers my expenses."
Realizing the truth behind Reiki's words, Minato nodded. "We'll settle everything when we return to the village. The mission rewards will more than cover it."
The battle had been challenging, but the value of Reiki's medical support was clear. Without him, they might have survived but would have required weeks of recovery.
Reiki turned to their captives. "Now, let's patch these guys up and interrogate them. The intel they carry could be priceless."
Kan sighed, looking at Minato. "Do you think we'll go bankrupt after this mission?"
Minato chuckled, though the concern was evident in his eyes. "Let's hope not… And Reiki, be a bit more frugal next time."
