"You've investigated thoroughly," Tsunade said with a complex expression, memories of Chinatsu's birth flashing in her mind. After a pause, she continued, "Maybe it was Chinatsu's birth. After she was born, my hemophobia just… disappeared."
"That means your psychological trauma was healed by Chinatsu's presence?" Kirito speculated.
Tsunade nodded slightly. Though she didn't know how Kirito had pieced so much together, she didn't deny it. Her mind drifted to the traumas that had plagued her—the deaths of Nawaki and Dan, and the blood that had haunted her ever since. But the birth of her daughter had given her a reason to move forward, gradually mending the emotional scars.
Kirito, recalling Naruto's role in helping Tsunade overcome her fear in the original timeline, felt a pang of guilt and pride. "Chinatsu's quite a miracle, isn't she?" he mused.
Tsunade nodded, her face softening momentarily. Then, her expression turned stern. "By the way, you bastard, you still haven't told me who you really are. Someone with your skills isn't just a random wandering ninja."
Kirito smirked, masking his unease. "Didn't I already tell you? My name is Kirito."
Tsunade frowned. "That's not what I mean, and you know it."
Feigning innocence, Kirito replied, "What else is there to say? I'm Kirito, the 'Kiri' in 'mist' and the 'to' in 'blade.'" He avoided revealing too much. The truth of his involvement in Konoha's darker chapters would have to wait until Tsunade trusted him completely. If she learned of his connection to the Sarutobi clan's destruction now, it could sever their bond forever.
Tsunade narrowed her eyes but let it go for the moment. "Fine. But don't think I'll let this drop."
By the time they reached the hotel, Kirito knocked on the door, and Shizune answered, her face a mixture of surprise and shock. "You! And Lady Tsunade? What… what's going on here?"
Shizune's eyes darted between the two of them, then landed on the gold ring on Tsunade's finger. Her jaw dropped. "Is that…?"
Before Shizune could finish her sentence, Kirito smiled. "As you can see, Lady Tsunade has finally agreed to marry me."
"Stop talking nonsense!" Tsunade snapped, her face flushed as she pushed Kirito into the room, even her neck turning pink.
Inside, Chinatsu was lying on one of the beds, playing with Tuntun. When she saw the two enter, her big round eyes lit up, and she squealed, "Mom! Big brother!"
She bolted toward them with outstretched arms.
Tsunade smiled warmly, ready to scoop up her daughter, but Chinatsu bypassed her entirely and flung herself into Kirito's arms.
Tsunade froze mid-motion, her expression turning to one of utter disbelief.
"Big brother," Chinatsu whispered conspiratorially, "did my mom, that old woman, hurt you?"
Kirito's lips twitched, and he coughed lightly to mask his amusement. "Uh…"
Old woman? He thought incredulously. What kind of daughter calls her mother that?
Clearing his throat, Kirito glanced at Tsunade and said, "Shall I explain, or would you like to?"
Tsunade sighed heavily, rubbing her temples. "Let me." Turning to her daughter, she said, "Chinatsu, do you remember the father I told you about?"
"Yes," Chinatsu replied, tilting her head.
"Well," Tsunade hesitated, then continued, "he's not ugly, and he wasn't driven away by me. It's a long story, but the important thing is, he's here now. Kirito is your real father."
Boom. Chinatsu looked as if she'd been struck by lightning. Her face went pale, and tears welled up in her big eyes. "Big brother… is this true?"
Kirito nodded solemnly. "It's true, Chinatsu. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you and your mother all these years."
The little girl turned to Shizune, her last bastion of certainty. "Sister Shizune, is this true?"
Shizune, who had been moved to tears by the family reunion, nodded while wiping her eyes. "It's true, young lady. Although… well, it's a complicated story. He really is your father."
As the confirmation settled in, Chinatsu's lip quivered, and she burst into tears. "Waaah! Mom, you're so mean!"
The room fell silent, her outburst catching everyone off guard.
Tsunade blinked in confusion. "Me? Why am I the mean one?"
Kirito tilted his head. "Yes, Chinatsu. If anyone's at fault, it's me for not being here. Why are you blaming your mom?"
Chinatsu sniffled, avoiding Kirito's gaze as her cheeks turned red. "Because… because…" she hesitated, then blurted out, "If big brother is my dad, then when I grow up, I can't be his girlfriend!"
Crack.
The floor beneath Tsunade's feet split open, cracks spidering across the room. Her fists trembled, her head lowered as shadows covered her face.
The air grew heavy with tension. The aura emanating from Tsunade was palpable—a mixture of anger and barely restrained chaos.
"Lady Tsunade," Shizune said cautiously, stepping forward. "Calm down. We don't have the funds to pay for more damages."
"Shizune," Tsunade said darkly, her voice dangerously calm. "Take Chinatsu and leave. Now."
"Lady Tsunade, I—"
"NOW," Tsunade barked, her voice echoing through the room.
Shizune swallowed nervously, quickly picking up Chinatsu and retreating. Tuntun squealed and hurried after her, clearly not wanting to be caught in the crossfire.
As the door closed behind them, silence fell over the room. Kirito stood rooted in place, the corners of his mouth twitching as he contemplated the storm brewing before him.
"Uh, Tsunade?" he ventured, breaking the silence.
She turned to face him, her eyes blazing. "Kirito. You've got a lot of explaining to do."
