The door slammed shut, and Tsunade's furious voice rang out, "You bastard! What exactly did you do to our daughter?"
Kirito sighed, catching her right wrist mid-punch with ease. "I didn't do anything," he replied, his expression feigning innocence.
"Then why would she say she wants to be your girlfriend, you damn bastard!" Tsunade roared and swung another punch with her left hand.
Kirito caught this one as well, trapping both of her wrists. "Maybe it's because I helped her catch that runaway pig?" he offered, genuinely baffled.
"There's no way my daughter would fall for you over something like that! You must have done something to her!" Tsunade snapped, lifting her leg to execute a Painful Sky Kick.
Kirito saw it coming. Without hesitation, he blocked her kick with his leg, locking them into a tangled stance. The two lost their balance and toppled onto the bed, with Kirito pinning Tsunade in place.
"Maybe it's just my damn charm," Kirito sighed. "But if you don't believe me, I can prove it."
Tsunade narrowed her eyes, a mix of suspicion and anger flashing across her face. "What kind of proof?"
Kirito leaned closer with a mischievous smirk. "Well, Tsunade, I don't think you'd want your daughter walking in to find her parents without their clothes, would you?"
Later That Evening
About half an hour later, Tsunade emerged from the room with flushed cheeks, followed by Kirito. Shizune, who had been sitting outside dozing off, blinked awake at the sound of the door.
"Lady Tsunade… and…" Shizune looked at Kirito, her expression shifting into one of awkward realization. "Wait… you're… I'm sorry, what's your name again?"
"Kirito," he replied with a small smile, gently setting Chinatsu down.
Chinatsu, who had been bullying Tuntun with great enthusiasm, immediately ran over. "Big brother, did Mom hurt you?" she asked, tugging at his sleeve.
Kirito crouched down, stroking her head gently. "I told you already, Chinatsu. You should call me Dad."
"But you're way too handsome to be a dad," Chinatsu said innocently, leaning into his hand. "Big brother, you're sure Mom didn't bully you, right?"
"Your mom didn't bully me," Kirito reassured her, then glanced at Tsunade with a smirk. "If anything, I think I bullied her."
"You bastard!" Tsunade snapped, her face turning bright red as she reached for Kirito. "Stop saying such nonsense in front of our daughter!"
Meanwhile, at Konoha Hospital
At Konoha Hospital, Kurenai Yuhi stood at a treatment station surrounded by novice medical-nin. In the center of the station, a fish flopped weakly on a table. Kurenai calmly placed her hands over it, channeling chakra as a green glow enveloped her palms. Within seconds, the fish was flopping vigorously, fully healed.
The instructor observing the session clapped his hands in admiration. "Yuhi Kurenai, I have to say, your medical ninjutsu skills are outstanding. You've far surpassed most of our staff here."
Kurenai shook her head modestly. "I don't think I'm that good. It's just experience from my time in the medical corps."
The instructor sighed. "Well, we're grateful for your help today. You've been an inspiration to these students."
Kurenai smiled faintly, stepping outside for some air. She needed a moment to herself. The time she had spent in the medical corps was not just to help others but also to distance herself from the lingering memories of Kirito. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't forget him—or the turmoil he left in his wake.
As she walked outside, she almost bumped into Kakashi, who was carrying a bag of groceries.
"Kakashi?" Kurenai asked, surprised to see him.
"Kurenai." Kakashi nodded. "Got some time to talk?"
A Quiet Conversation
The two found a small dango shop near the academy. Kakashi ordered tea and dango while Kurenai quietly observed him. It wasn't often that Kakashi initiated a conversation.
After a moment of silence, Kakashi spoke. "How have you been? I heard you've been working in the medical corps."
Kurenai nodded. "I'm managing. And you? I heard you've been leading a genin team. How's that going?"
"It's been… interesting," Kakashi said with a chuckle. "Naruto is a handful, Sasuke is brooding, and Sakura… well, she tries her best."
"You sound fond of them," Kurenai observed, taking a sip of her tea.
"I guess I am." Kakashi leaned back, watching the genin train outside. His gaze settled on Naruto, who was being dragged around by a large ninja dog as Sasuke smirked in the background. "They remind me that there's still hope for the future."
Kurenai followed his gaze and asked, "Have they been on any missions yet?"
Kakashi's expression grew more serious. "We recently returned from the Land of Waves. It was… challenging. We ran into Zabuza Momochi, one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, and a rare Ice Release user named Haku."
"Haku?" Kurenai asked, surprised. "An Ice Release user? Those are extremely rare."
"Yes," Kakashi confirmed. "Haku was powerful—too powerful for genin. But the kids showed real promise. If it weren't for their efforts, I don't think we would've made it back in one piece."
Kurenai fell silent, her thoughts drifting back to her own students. As much as she admired their potential, her mind kept wandering to Kirito. The boy she once taught had grown into a force to be reckoned with. She didn't know if she wanted to meet him again—or if she could bear the truth of what he had become.
