章 1: Chapter 1: last wish
When people die, their life flashes through their eyes.
They may regret, wonder or even be thankful for their life. In that single moment, a lifetime of memories will all come back in an instant.
But that was not what was happening to Alex. Instead of his life flashing through his eyes, he wished.
He wished it was not the end. He wished that there really is another life on the other side and that there is more to his existance than what he has seen.
At that moment, when his body fell off the building, he felt as though the world had gotten slower in his eyes. He could see the eyes of his killer fill with regret.
Although he had not yet hit the ground, he could already see his fate. He was going to die.
The weird part was, he just couldn't help but think, "is this where my life stops being meaningless?"
He was not afraid of dying, he was in fact hoping to die. But he did not want it to just end like that. Maybe he was greedy, but that's what he wants.
"Will there be a god waiting to reincarnate me in the other side. Telling me that it was all mistake. And i could get three wishes to help me in my next life?"
"After all that happened, I deserve that much don't i?"
Although it was childish, he wanted to reincarnate. Not just to reincarnate, he wanted his life to be like a protagonist.
Even if he was born as some sort of monster, he could accept anything as long as he could be reborn into the world of his dreams.
Even if he was born as a slave, he could endure if he was given a cheat.
Even if his soul was taken as compensation, it would not matter as long as...
He muttered as he fell to his doom, "I just want to be special."

He felt that warm wall enclosing on him.
He tried to open his eye and all he could see was the blue.
Weird liquid was all around his body.
The liquid was not water, he was sure since it was too viscous.
He opened his mouth and some of the liquid went into his mouth.
Bitter!
The liquid tasted horrible.
'I can't breath.'
He tried to flail around. The surrounding walls were incredibly thick. He tried to hit them as hard as he can, but it was fruitless.
Crack!
He touched the upper wall, and it surprisingly cracked.
He used all his strength to hit the upper wall.
Bam!
He could feel the coldness from the outside. He sprang his body up and managed to break of whatever was left of the 'wall.'
In a dark cave, a small creature sprang out to the ground. It's body was half submerged in the ground. The ground had cracks and small rocks just beside it.
Blue and luminous liquid trickled down it green body. The same liquid could be seen just within the hole the creature was submerge in.
The creature breathed highly and did its best to catch its breath. It's beady yellow eyes looked around. It was shocked. It looked at its green eyes and it's thoughts were of joy.
'I have reincarnated.'
Alex looked at his body closely.
'Green skin, pointy ears and a bald head. Either a goblin or an orc. Nope defenitely a goblin. My arms and legs are too short.'
One would normaly be dejected after finding out that they had suddenly turned into a goblin. Even those who don't know much about the fantasy world know that goblins are the weakest existance around. So weak that they would not even qualify as cannon fodder.
But He did not look down on this weak green form. From the Mangas and novels he had read, the goblin was the creature with the largest evolution tree. Their evolution even spanned to the territory of other species.
He then looked at his hands and a thought came to mind. In his whole life, he had always wanted to say this. It's not that he had never said it before, it's just that he had never gotten a response till this day.
With his eyes sparkling with glee, he said, "status."
"..."
"Status," he repeated.
"..."
"Status?"
"..."
"Well shit. So does this mean ill be like those main characters who live without any cheats? Although they were rare, the were some in my past life. F**k, where is my godly system?"
[Loading system...]
He suddenly heard these words in his head. A breath of relief could be heard from him.
"That almost scared me."
While the system was loading, he looked around.
Bam, the ground adjacent to him suddenly exploded. Or rather, a creature jumped out of the ground.
"Wtf!"
As expected, it was another goblin just like him.
"That's how goblins are born?" He looked at himself and the ground below him. "Seems like it is. This whole place is empty except me and my 'brother' will there be..."

More goblins sprang put of the ground. In less than a minute, the whole cave was filled with goblins. He couldn't count them, but he was sure that there were more than 100 of them.
[System loading complete!]
[Greating to the host.]
"You can talk?"
[Yes.]
"Show me my status."
[System cannot complete the host's command.]
"What? Why?"
[The system is unable to complete the command.]
"Then what can you do."
[The system guide the host when using the system skill: [creation].]
"What do you mean by..."
"Gather around!"
Before he could continue his conversation with the systems, a loud female voice came from the left.
All the other goblins did as the goblin commanded and gathered. He of course also complied. He did not know if there was any punishment for the disobedient. But It would not be funny to be killed just as he was reincarnated.
All the goblins gathers and looked ahead. I'm his view, he saw a green skinned woman garbed in brown chlothes made of fur. She only had a two pieces of chloths other than the mask on her face. She wore a cloth that covered her chest area and skirt like fur that had long slit on the two sides of her legs. The mask was wooden and only had two holes for the eyes. On her hand, was a sword that had multiple grooves as signs of battle.
"You are the subjects of her majesty the queen!"
She shouted to the goblins below. Her voice seemingly echoed in the cave. Her eyes glowed in yellow light and was complemented by the darkness in the cave.
"Group yourselves and go to battle. Return withs spoils and offer them to your queen. When you do so, you will be given the right to mate!"
She hit the ground with her sword, creating a loud bang. "Your seniors shall be arranging you into groups."
With that said, the green skinned woman left the elevated podium. But that was not the end of It, a few more green skinned men larger than Alex came and picked them.
Before he knew It, he was in a group of 7 goblins and one of the taller green men. Looking the taller man, he was sure of one thing, "that's a hobgoblin."
The group was led outside by the hobgoblin. They were given loincloths to cover their lower bodies and thick sticks to protect themselves.
"This is the free goblin newbie pack?"
He then looked at the other goblins. "Weird though, among all the goblins, i haven't seen one female."
He had seen all their 'sticks' hanging freely not too long ago. None of them were female. Although he did not specifically search for one that time, he still did not see one.
"There is a lot of questions in my head now. System, why are there no females in the group?"
[The system does not have enough information to make a conclusion.]
"Then why did we come from the ground instead of being born?"
[The host may have been spawned.]
"Spawned, what does that mean?"
[Spawned: the phenomenon where a creature is created using mana and the natural law of a terrain.]
"Okay. Last time you said something about..."
Before he could finish his speaking, the hobgoblin looked in his direction.
"Shut up!"
He immediately zipped his mouth. The hobgoblin looked at the shorter group ahead of him. In his hand was a large club. The club had blood marks and scratches scattered on its surface.
"Rezar will show weak goblins to fight!"
'What kind of weird accent is that? Is this stupid speech? Now that i think about it, how am i able to even underatand him? This should be another world, the language should be different even if its a foctional world... now that i listen to it properly, is that even english?'
Soon, the group was taken out of the cave.
'Wow... a forest huh?'
The group of goblins made this way into the forest. They were greeted by an abundant source of natural life. Animals and trees of all kinds made the forest bloom with vitality. With just one look, Alex knew that none of these had existed in his past life.
At the top of a tree, he could see a weird squirrel like creature with rabbit ears and winner fingers. Even higher than that was a multicolored humming bird big as Alex himself zooming off to the sky. Down below was a small kangaroo like creature with green fur.
Only after seeing these did Alex truly accept.
"I have reincarnated into another world."
Maybe it was windy that day. Maybe dust had gotten into his eyes, but his eyes seemed wet with tears.
...
Many hours later, a group of goblins and a hobgoblin appeared even further in the forest. One of the goblins was currently holding a sack that was half filled with dead carcasses of animals.
The goblin holding the sack was Alex. These few hours, Alex had seen many things and he had learn even more. Under the lead of the hobgoblin, the goblins have taken down many small creatures in the forest. Maybe the hobgoblin did not like him, so he gave him the job of a porter.
Alex was fine with it though.
"At least it's better than having to fight with these monsters, one of the goblins was almost killed just moments ago. All just because he accidentaly stepped on a slime. This world really is dangerous."
As they were walking, Alex suddenly felt uncomfortable.
