章 7: Fake Mother
Once inside the hall, Madison forgot about everything that happened outside. The only thing on her mind now was seeing her daughter. But first, she had to locate where Max and Adrian were sitting.
As she passed by, looking for Max and Adrian, all eyes were on her. The men were eyeing her lustfully and checking her out. They were in awe of her beauty.
Some of the women chided their husbands for ogling another women when they were right beside them. They became instantly jealous of Madison's look. Some even felt like scratching her beautiful face.
Although Madison was used to receiving stares of admiration from men, She felt extremely uneasy this time around. It felt as if the men here were undressing her with their eyes. She instantly felt the need to sit down. She looked around for an empty table to seat at but didn't find any, as everywhere was jam-packed and every table occupied by people. She saw an empty seat at a table by her side, but she didn't want to sit with other people. She wouldn't be in this situation if she saw Adrian and Max. She looked around once again in order to find them but couldn't.
Meanwhile, Adrian and Max had been looking for Madison since. They were really worried that something bad had happened her. they've been watching the door since and as soon as Madison entered, they sighted her immediately. She was looking in their direction but couldn't see them. Adrian wanted to shout her name but thought against it, as it would only attract attention to themselves.
It was at this point that Kate, who had been sitting at one corner of the hall, watching Madison, left where she was sitting and began walking towards where Madison was standing.
Max on the other side saw what was about to happen. He knew that the lady walking towards Madison was the one they'd met earlier when they first arrived at the party. He knew the lady was pretender and was probably going to meet Madison to cause trouble. He couldn't care anymore about attracting attention to himself, as he shouted,
"Miss Madison!!!"
Thankfully, the song playing from the loudspeaker was so loud that Max's voice didn't attract any attention and even managed to reach Madison. When Madison heard Max's voice, she was immediately overjoyed.
She turned in the direction of his voice and saw him alongside Adrian, waving at her. She quickly walked over to the corner where they were sitting.
Alice on the other side stood still where she was, staring at Madison's back with an evil intention clearly written on her face.
"Maddy, what took you so long?" Adrian asked as soon as she sat down.
"Nothing much, just a little problem I had to solve" She didn't bother to tell them about what happened outside, she saw it as something irrelevant.
"We were greatly worried" Max added.
"It's all okay now, I'm here already" She paused, looked around, then whispered,
"Has my daughter been introduced to everyone?"
"No, I think she......" Max couldn't complete what he was saying, as the loud voice of the Master of Ceremony echoed through the Microphone.
"I will now announce the arrival of our celebrant, the birthday girl, Miss Antonia Lowell, the beauty goddess of Canada!!"
A tall, slender young girl entered the hall through the front. Everyone started clapping, cheering her, as they saw her. She was wearing a blue ' baby feather princess' gown.
Her black, silky and long hair was stylishly combed down, making her look like a princess that came out of a fairytale. She was too beautiful to be real and anyone who saw will immediately fall in love with her. The sun shine bright on her face, making her look even more beautiful. She was truly a beauty goddess.
Madison's face was stained with tears. She was being emotional right now. This was actually the first time she was seeing her daughter since her birth. Tonia looked so much like her, she was her replica. She even loved the blue colour just like herself.
Tonia walked up the podium, and in a tiny and sweet voice, she said, "I thank everyone for making out time to attend my birthday party. I really appreciate all the love showered on me. And most especially, I want to thank my Dad for always being there for me, I love you so much" She sniffed ".....and thank you, Aunty Kate, I love you too" With that, she got off the stage waving at everyone.
"It's now time for presenting our gifts to Miss Antonia. First of all, I'll invite Mr Alex Lowell, Miss Tonia's father to the stage to present his gift to his daughter."
Max went up to the stage, with some bodyguards carrying different wrapped items.
He thanked everyone for coming and then presented his gift to Tonia. Tonia hugged her father tightly and thanked him.
"I will also call on Miss Kate Drucker, Tonia's mother to present her gift to her daughter" With a smiling face, Kate walked up the stage with bodyguards carrying different gift boxes.
"What?!!". Madison wiped her tears in surprise after hearing what the MC said. She couldn't believe her ears. Did they just call another person her daughter's mother? huh??
So this Kate is Alex's wife. Hmph!! even at that, she didn't have any right to be called Tonia's mother. "how trite!!" She thought.
"I thank everyone present here, I'm Kate, Tonia mother" Everybody clapped.
Max was feeling very uneasy where he was sitting. He wondered why they called Kate, Tonia's mother. He wasn't even engaged to her yet. But she was already calling herself Tonia's mother. He was greatly annoyed. He had clearly specified that Kate was Tonia's teacher on the list of names. Someone must have changed it deliberately.
Madison on the other hand felt that she has said too much. She even had the gut to call herself Tonia's mother, as if she was really the one that gave birth to her. She naturally couldn't stand listening to her nonsense anymore.
"Shut the hell up woman!!!" Someone said in a loud, yet surprisingly calm voice.
