章 5: Chapter 5: Army making

Once again, like they did a few minutes ago, the stars within the dungeon core spun. An hour or so later, the spinning particles and stars stopped. What was left behind him was a small sphere. A sphere that started to accumulate white growth.

Just like before, the growth grew until points formed outward. The only difference this time was that the growth did not have six points but instead five. Although the creature had such a difference from the previous one, this did not have much impact on the overall structure.

After two hours of formation, the full features of the creature could be seen. Like the first, it was also a goblin. The only true difference between the two was on the lower body. The first goblin has a 'third' leg with two unknown balls right behind it. The new one, however, did not have these two features; instead, it had... well, you get the idea.

Pah!

The new goblin fell to the ground, just like the first. It too soon understood its situation and stood up. It looked curious about the two unknown things in front of it. The first was, of course, the dungeon core, and the second was the first goblin.

The new goblin was more curious about the blue, glowing ball than its senior inhabitant. But the senior was already used to the glowing blue ball. So it has lost interest. Plus, every time the senior tries to touch the ball, it has second thoughts. Ultimately, it just stopped approaching the sphere unless it wanted to get some life-giving water.

So when I finally saw something new come out, I was very interested. Not only that, but what came out was something that looked like it. The only difference was what was between the legs. The first goblin was curious. So it went over to the new goblin and made grunting sounds. All in an attempt to communicate.

The creator of these two creatures looked at them curiously.

"I wonder if this will work."

Earlier today, the child decided to increase the number of goblins. Because sooner or later, there will come a time when he will need to connect to the world. When that time comes, he will need something to protect himself.

A single goblin will obviously not cut it. So he needed a large number of goblins to help him out. But when he checked his reserves of third-order energy, he felt uncontent with his plan to connect to the world. Because if he were to use all his current energy to make nothing but goblins, he would only be able to make 30 goblins. But although a dungeon can move through the universe, it is not without energy. So if the movement energy is cut out, only about 15 or so goblins can be made.

Sound like a lot?

Not when you consider that your older man can take on goblins without a problem. The only reason a goblin would win against a man would be because of superior equipment or experience.

There is no guarantee of what type of creatures the child will encounter once he connects to the world. Who knows, maybe he could connect his world directly in the middle of a city full of adventures. Ultimately gaining the achievement of fastest dungeon to die. So he decided to use his energy wisely.

Normally, dungeons grow their population by creating more through their dungeon core. But this is mainly because dungeons aren't the brightest bunch in the universe.

When the child was trying to recreate the new goblin, he noticed that he had the ability to switch its gender. Through this notice, he instantly had an idea.

"What if I let the goblins give birth normally?"

To better check if his idea was feasible, the child peeked deep within his inherited goblin creation knowledge. And apparently, it really was possible. As long as the goblins procreate on their own, they will be able to make their own goblins.

After a few more minutes of thinking, the child came to the conclusion that normal-born goblins would cost less energy to make than dungeon-made goblins. This was because when making goblins, a lot of third-order energy is used to make the monster core. But if it's born normally, the core will use the mother's energy and form naturally. And all the mother needs to nurture her child is nothing but nutrients. Nutrients that the child could make quite easily through ether energy. The ether energy he creates passively

Ultimately, if this idea of his were to succeed, he would be transferring the energy used from a scarce energy source to an abundant energy source.

The idea seemed feasible, so without further delay, the child ordered the two goblins.

"Have sex!"

As if something had awakened within the two goblins, they looked at each other differently. The hidden instincts they never knew they had forced their brains to pump blood in weird palaces. And the previous organs, which seemed more like decorations than anything else, had finally revealed their use.

Less than ten seconds later, the two goblins were 'battling' on the floor. All kinds of liquids were exchanged, and many positions that weren't taught in yoga class were instantly mastered.

While these two goblins discovered a new world of entertainment, the child who created them both watched.

"sigh."

The child sighed with melancholy.

"I really am not human, am I?"

The child was quite surprised at how calm he was when watching the two goblins. True, the goblins were ugly, and it is unlikely for him to have a 'reaction' to their intercourse, but he would have at least felt shame watching them.

But now, he could look at them without even flinching. He was, in fact, eager to watch them. But not because he finds them arousing. He watched them purely to see if his idea proved true or not. Like how a scientist would watch a poor animal die from an illness he caused.

"Maybe there is still humanity in me; after all, I do feel a hint of sadness at my own loss of humanity."
