As Brother Dan stood paralyzed on the bloodstained chessboard, the gruesome scene unfolded with sickening clarity. 

The devil king, still grinning with beautiful malevolent glee, commanded its minions to advance. 

Each devil piece moved with predatory precision, their eyes glowed with hunger as they descended upon the remnants of Brother Woody's body.

The first to fall was Woody's leg, now just a severed limb lying helplessly on the board. One of the devils, a grotesque creature with twisted limbs and sharp, needle-like teeth, lunged forward. Its mouth stretched unnaturally wide as it bit down on the leg, tearing through the flesh and bone with a sickening crunch. 

The sound of ripping muscle and shattering bone echoed through the chamber, mingling with the wet, slurping noises as the devil greedily consumed its prey.
