Oars looked towards his goddess and sighed. 'She is getting like that again..'
He was all too familiar with her changes in attitude especially when it came to the cat people.
The usual intellectual and book smart goddess was gone during those times as she become obsessive and a little perverted towards the cat people.
He was very grateful that he had been born human and did not have to endure such treatment from Seshat.
There was some genuine interest towards Mallory and the details of what had happened but there was her usual strange interest towards the cat people mixed in with it.
Oars took a moment to answer. "A large golden cat with spots similar to those on her ears and tail. I was very surprised since she displayed much higher combat power during that time but it seems that she has a loss of rationality during that time."
He had watched over it all from further away but he was still able to figure out some details enough to know that Mallory was not the one in control during the time of her transformation.
Seshat's eyes sparkled with curiosity and asked. "Can you draw it? Paint me several pictures! Go now!"
Oars let out a sigh again before asking. "Goddess.. how should we proceed?"
Seshat turned serious for a moment then responded upon understanding the meaning behind his question. "Have her rest up. Escort the new recruits of hers to this room."
Oars bowed before heading towards the door. "Yes goddess."
Just as the door was closing, he could hear his goddess shouting as if to remind him. "Do not forget the drawings!"
Seshat spent a little time rolling around displaying an appearance of someone who was caught up in their fantasies and was being bashful giggling to herself as she tried to picture the cute or ferocious appearance of Mallory in her transformed state.
Once she calmed down, she returned back to her serious state and her books while thinking to herself. 'If my thoughts are correct then this transformation must have something to do with her Omega Alpha skill.
Her skill has yet to show its abilities so far and no other skill has appeared on her so it must be it. How interesting that it is a transformation type, from how it was named, I thought it was some kind of group based skill.
My guess is that either the skill itself only has this effect or there is something more behind it that lets it be more than it appears to be.'
Most skills were usually named in a way to suit what the skill effects were so most gods were able to get a decent understanding of each skills effects from the basic information given in the status.
Having such a skill in front of her eyes, it was very easy to see it as some kind of support or commanding type ability that worked best when a group was with the used.
Upon hearing about the transformation, Goddess Seshat did not feel that the name and information given by the status matched fully with the transformation ability so there had to be some hidden meaning behind it that could be related to another usage or a certain trigger for it to happen.
After spending some time in her room reading, her doors were left open once again as each status of her Familia was being updated.
At the back of the queue were several new faces who had been escorted by Oars who were busy silently looking over them.
Flashes of light came from within her room each time she updated their status while some news started to spread through the Seshat Familia about Mallory who was brought back unconscious and the new recruits.
Among the people standing around listening to such rumours was a woman with silver hair and eyes dressed in a smart shirt, vest and pants.
She listened intently to the news and her brows knit with annoyance showing on her face. 'So this is your way of rejecting me goddess? Is this your way of showing me that there is still a promising future for our Familia?'
She let out a small chuckle but she sounded very sarcastic as she did so. 'You are placing your hopes on a kid that passes out on her first real mission and now you are letting in just about any weakling. How pathetic your attempts are.'
Despite her love for the Seshat Familia and her devotion towards it, Clarice had been away from the Familia for much too long and had lived through many dangers and challenges to become a level three adventurer.
Clarice was determined to make the Seshat Familia as she had always desired believing it was for the betterment of the Familia.
She was determined to make it a reality no matter what even if she had to show her Goddess that she was the future of the Familia.
Oars would one day be surpassed by her and Clarice would become the main person everyone would look towards.
Despite there being an attempt by Goddess Seshat to build a group from new blood and some other members of the Familia that were without a faction to ally with, Clarice saw it as her Goddess putting up a final small and futile bit of resistance.
Mallory may have been on her radar for a moment due to her fast speed in levelling up to level two but the recent events had let Clarice feel more at ease.
She believed that Mallory was still much too young and inexperienced to be able to contend with her especially when the first task given had resulted in her coming back in such a state.
It was even more insulting to hear that the group formed to combat her was made up of a lot of low levels who were very unskilled and would have no hope of making a difference in hindering her plans.
A cold smile formed on her lips and she raised her fingers to adjust the glasses on her face as she thought to herself. 'Nice try Goddess but I will win.'
