章 7: Rust
The quiet city blocks makes Rust uneasy, as if something bad is happening. Rust continues walking up the stone pathway. The riddled buildings hide the blue sky. Rust makes his way to a small tavern, which is just reopening. The dusty bar looks very old and broken down. There is a woman cleaning glasses over the counter.
'Hey barkeep can you send me a double?' He dusts off one of the stools with his hand and sits down. The barkeep sends a shot and a chaser down the long counter. Rust catches them and picks them up. He tilts his head back and downs both shots, shaking a bit.
'Wooow that's strong!' He coughs a bit with a few tears in his eyes.
'So how's everything going down in this part of Vale?' The woman looks up at Rust with a smirk.
'So not much of a talker are ya?' Rust waits for a response but there is no answer. She winks at Rust with her hazel eyes. For a split second one of the eyes change to a pink and back to brown, but Rust doesn't notice.
'So can I have another?' The Bartender nods and pours another round. This time Rust downs both of them and doesn't flinch.
'Wait a minute this isn't-' He begins to hallucinate seeing swirls and warping colors. His eyes get heavy and the world starts to spin around him. Rust collapses onto the ground. He is able to get a few more words in before passing out.
'Wh-who are y-ou?' The barkeeper looks at Rust, and she starts to transform. Her boots turn into gleaming black heals and her cane turns into a pink parasol. Her overalls shift into a white cropped suit, and black stockings. Her black curled hair flowed down her back. The hair split colors halfway across her head and her eyes matched the hair. She slung her parasol on top of her shoulders and hovers her foot above Rust's head and knocks him out, with her heel. She carries him to a van behind the tavern. The van reads Dusty and clean magic gets it done. She opens the back and throws him in the vehicle slamming the doors. She gets in the van and drives off leaving the tavern abandoned. The sun sets on the ruined city of Vale.
