CANDI GONZALEZ PEERED OVER her laptop at her brother as he gathered his things to head into the spacious bathroom. She'd seen his suitcase. He was obviously getting ready to leave for more than just an overnight thing, and yet he hadn't told her a thing about the trip, where he was going or when he was leaving.

What was he up to?

Why wouldn't he tell her?

What was he hiding?

And why couldn't she be involved?

She had so many questions about her brother and despite living under the same roof, she felt like she knew him even less. They'd never been super close as kids. She'd been the bookish type while he excelled at sports. Her brother was a good guy, that much she knew, but everything else was an unknown.
