As best as Candi had been able to figure out, Nadine had been at this game for a long time.

Candi didn't have concrete evidence. There wasn't any because Nadine knew how to clean up after herself. It was the holes that had given her away. A few of them would have been understandable. But there were so many blind spots and coincidences in Nadine's career that Candi couldn't turn a blind eye to it. But one day that woman was going to trip up and Candi would be there to document it.

Her fingers few over the keyboard. If her brother caught her looking into Nadine again, he'd boot her off his sofa. That would be inconvenient as hell. In a pinch she could do an extended stay hotel, but that wasn't ideal.

Living in Miami wasn't where she'd seen herself, but this was where the job was. Networking wasn't a strength for her. She'd been worse when she'd first been out on her own. It was a skill she'd picked up out of necessity, but that didn't mean she was good at it.
