Chapter 48: Across the Line

Holly Adams POV:

Andy and I were still holding each other when a burst of gunfire came from somewhere nearby followed by the screech of tires. We separated and turned towards the source of the noise in time to see an SUV tear around the side of the warehouse. As it passed, I spotted a familiar, middle-aged woman in the passenger seat. The car sped towards the line of cruisers blocking the parking lot’s exit, crashing into two of them as it pushed its way through.

“That’s our problem, isn’t it?” Andy asked.

“Yup.”

I ran back to my car with Andy right behind me, though I hit the gas before he managed to get all the way in.
