Buying Altria?
Morgan's amusement was palpable as she discussed the recent events with Lott. Contrary to what he might have assumed, she wasn't upset by Altria drawing the sword from the stone and becoming the de facto ruler of Camelot. Instead, she found the situation advantageous and was quite pleased with how things had turned out.
"Lott," Morgan began with a mischievous grin, "do you know? Today, I taught those who coveted my throne a valuable lesson."
Lott was taken aback, struggling to comprehend Morgan's intentions. Did she orchestrate Altria drawing the sword to her advantage? He was still grappling with the revelation.
Morgan continued, "I let Altria draw the sword, and now everyone believes that it was my influence that allowed her to do so. This way, those plans to use the sword to challenge my dominance are all for nought."
Lott, still reeling from the unexpected twist, thought, This is incredible! How did she manage that? His initial surprise turned into reluctant admiration.
Morgan, basking in her cleverness, added, "I have my little secret. I'll tell you about it later." She winked mysteriously, clearly enjoying Lott's bewildered expression.
Lott couldn't help but think, Can she read my mind? I've tested Merlin's ability to read thoughts before, and even he couldn't do it. It's impossible that Morgan could.
Morgan's internal monologue was a mix of triumph and strategic planning. She knew that revealing her mind-reading ability if she had it, might cause issues in their relationship. She was more interested in enjoying Lott's reaction and keeping her secret for now.
She leaned in and gave Lott a gentle kiss on the cheek, adding to her charm and further solidifying her control. "You'll know when the time is right. For now, let's focus on our next steps."
Lott, feeling a bit deflated but still supportive, nodded. "I'll wait for you to tell me. But it's clear that we need to prepare for any backlash."
Morgan's eyes sparkled with satisfaction. "Exactly. My plan will intensify the conflict with the other nobles but don't worry. I'll handle it, and you'll be right by my side when needed."
As the conversation continued, Lott's mind wandered to the implications of their situation. He realized that he might need to intervene if the conflict with the nobles escalated too much. Despite Morgan's confidence, Lott knew that he might have to act to protect her and their position.
Morgan, noticing Lott's thoughtful expression, reassured him. "Don't worry about me. I have everything under control. And remember, if you ever feel the need to take action, I'll be ready."
She then playfully reminded him, "And don't forget, you can't follow Merlin right now. He's been preoccupied with… other interests."
Lott, bemused, responded, "Who would think about other women with a wife like you?" His admiration for Morgan was clear, and he appreciated her dedication to their cause.
Morgan, pleased with his response, nodded approvingly. "Exactly. And as for Merlin, let him be. We have our plans to focus on."
As they discussed their strategies, it became evident that both Morgan and Lott were deeply engaged in their respective roles. Morgan's cunning and Lott's supportive stance were a powerful combination, setting the stage for the next phase of their political manoeuvring.
