章 314: Officer

Derek woke up to the early morning sun, and the sound of birdsong coming from outside. Taking a deep breath, he let it out, smiling as he did so. He had no idea how many hours he had slept.

But judging from the way that his entire body was just thrumming with quiet contentment. It had to have been quite a number of hours. And that was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to Derek's happiness. He was not alone. He had his Emily in his arms.

The two of them were back together, and that just made a wonderful situation even better. Amplifying his happiness to a point that Derek felt as though he would burst. 

Her head pillowed on his chest, Emily began to move around, a clear indicator that she was waking up. 

Derek smiled even more,gently running a hand over Emily's side. When she finally did come awake, Emily did not say anything. But Derek knew that she was no longer sleeping because her hand began to rub over his chest.
