He and Emily were official. It was great news, splendid even. But Derek had to admit, from an outsider's point of view. The two of them were a bit of a mess.

They had been working together for two years before they realized that both of them were battling the same ailment. The two of them so stubborn that they had been able to keep it secret from one another for so long. And then when they had finally realized that they were both having sleep problems.

They'd had a long drawn out, torture session, trying to figure things out. Until they finally got their act together and decided that sharing a bed would be best for them. Then it took them months of pining and an accidental kiss which had sent Emily running for the two of them to finally decide to become an official couple.
