"Brother-in-law?" Sanji gazed at Ron and Reiju in utter disbelief. To his dismay, the last thing he had ever wanted to witness had come to pass, even during the period he had been in a coma. At this very moment, Sanji felt as if his heart were being squeezed.
"That's right, say it three times!" Ron retorted, looking at Sanji with a mischievous glint in his eye. He was thoroughly enjoying the discomfort he was causing, relishing in it like a pervert. The bizarre sensation was beyond comprehension for anyone else. It was akin to having your own sibling become your brother-in-law, and Ron had even shamelessly encouraged Sanji to utter it.
Sanji, his fury mounting, couldn't fathom how he could address Ron as his brother-in-law. Today, he was determined to confront Ron, even if it meant a fierce battle between them. Ron was, in his eyes, the embodiment of a scoundrel, and calling him a "scum" would have been a generous compliment.
"Fine!" Ron nodded, not resisting Sanji's challenge. He was not only attacking Sanji emotionally but also prepared for a physical confrontation. Ron wanted Sanji to acknowledge him willingly, deriving pleasure from the situation.
[This is incredible. I never expected, Sanji, that I'd end up with your sister.]
[Refusing to call me brother-in-law today? Do you think you'll leave this room in one piece?]
Reiju maintained her stoic expression, while the other girls displayed a range of emotions. Unexpectedly, Reiju had taken the lead in this charade, leaving everyone baffled. Particularly Nami, who had initially embarked on a quest for a thousand-year-old dragon, now wore a resentful expression on her face.
"This scoundrel truly knows how to play his part. I knew it was a bad idea to let him out," Nami seethed, struggling with his predicament.
"Engaging with women all day long, doesn't this guy realize that those women are just using him?" Nami exclaimed angrily. She had initially believed that Ron genuinely aimed to rescue Sanji, but recent events had cast doubt on his intentions, especially the inexplicable things he had said earlier. Nami was now certain that Ron had other motives.
"Isn't this normal? If Ron had succeeded with Nojiko earlier, his attention wouldn't be on anyone else right now. He'd be thinking about Nojiko all the time. You're just too cautious, Nami! You missed an opportunity," Robin analyzed rationally, displaying a hint of helplessness. She was surprised by Ron's actions but understood his character.
There was a helpless feeling on his face when he realized that this guy had actually spent the night with a beauty.
"I really did not expect it!" She exclaimed.
"And this girl, Reiju, is incredibly fast," she added, remembering the first time Ron meet that girl in loguetown.
"But I never expected them to get so close in such a short time," she concluded with a hint of surprise.
Nami looked at Nico Robin with a dumb expression, wondering what kind of solution they were contemplating.
"Can this even be found a solution?" she questioned.
"Are we supposed to keep him locked up to stop him from doing anything stupid?"
Nami was frustrated by the fact that there was no romantic relationship between her and Ron, even though he constantly referred to her as his wife.
Plus, Ron's continued romantic escapades only added to her irritation.
"You're too young, Nami," Nico Robin teased with a smile.
"It seems like you've read too many such books and your thinking has become distorted," she added, eliciting an angry response from Nami.
"Is this your idea?" Gion asked Kaya, seated on the boat, curious about her thoughts. Gion and her team had been working to resolve the issues in the villages controlled by Arlong during their stay in Cocoyasi Village. With the funds distributed, most of the villages were now stable.
However, they couldn't do anything for the deceased, and Gion's status as a Naval Headquarters Vice Admiral had helped avoid major complications.
"Mr. Ron's choices are undoubtedly correct! After all, the strong should be surrounded by beautiful women. Besides, I may not be much worse than them. Once I become stronger, I can stand beside Mr. Ron," Kaya replied with a light chuckle, not taking the situation too seriously. However, she concealed her true feelings, as someone had unexpectedly snatched Ron away.
Kaya had intended to train diligently and surprise Ron. Although she hadn't yet given him her surprise, she felt regretful.
Gion looked at Kaya and felt a hint of unease. She found Kaya's calm demeanor in this situation somewhat disconcerting.
Gion thought to herself that she couldn't do anything against Ron given his growing connections. Instead, she considered pursuing the Straw Hat Pirates as her next target, hoping to prove her strength. Tashigi, who Ron had found in Loguetown, was on her radar but ended up joining the Straw Hats so it's best to rule her out.
"Tashigi has a great talent for swordsmanship and was a promising recruit but she joined Mr. Ron's crew so we will have to look for other talents," Kaya pointed out, and Gion values her opinion of her. The relationship between Gion and Kaya had become a competitive one, and Kaya had earned Gion's respect for her as an equal.
Gion believed that Kaya could even compete for the position of Navy Admiral in the future.
Gion had no objection to cultivating Kaya's potential from her. Training a strong individual for the Marines was a priority, even if Kaya's current interests lay elsewhere.
"Continuing on this path; Garp has a good eye. That boy named Koby is a very talented person," Gion commented with satisfaction, proud of the seed that Garp had brought to the Marines.
He planned to take Tashigi under his wing. he saw a lot of potential in the girl but in the end she couldn't since the girl joined the pirates. If she hadn't had to hit her son he could have stopped it.
"Didn't Mr. Ron already mention that?" Kaya rolled her eyes, pointing out that Garp had merely confirmed what Ron had already indicated.
Gion agreed with a nod. "You're right. No one can deny that fact now. Koby is now a member of the Marines, under our jurisdiction. If anyone wants trouble, they'll need to consider their own strength."
Kaya suggested investigating other individuals Ron had mentioned in his diary. She speculated that these people might also possess diaries. Gion hesitated for a moment, as the limitations of the diary system made it challenging to locate specific individuals.
The diary provided prompts only when the person was nearby. Gion suggested trying to identify the Marine member with a diary, although she wasn't sure who it might be.
Kaya proposed a strategy to increase their visibility in Ron's eyes, brushing up their presence and maybe even losing some weight by following him. She believed that Ron, as the Son of Destiny, would encounter countless dangers during his journey, leading to various unexpected events.
"I don't think we need to concern ourselves with the others," Kaya remarked, implying that she didn't want to create love rivals for herself.
"Why?" Gion inquired, curious about Kaya's reasoning.
Gion paused for a moment, contemplating Kaya's words. "You just need to focus on the beautiful women in the Marines. It's something mentioned in the diary, and Ron has those words memorized," she replied, acknowledging the possibility of acquiring a diary herself.
Kaya sighed, feeling conflicted about potentially hurting the Marine's reputation. She couldn't help but wonder what might happen if something were to affect Marine. However, she recognized that Ron's faction was growing stronger, and if he indeed took these women as his wives, it would grant him a disguised control over a part of Marine.
Gion hesitated, processing Kaya's words, but ultimately, it seemed like a favorable deal. However, there was a condition – they couldn't let these women gain power without contributing something in return, as had happened with Reiju, who had seemingly given herself to Ron without any clear agreement. Gion resolved to prevent such situations in the future.
Gion gave Kaya a peculiar look, her lips twitching. She couldn't help but wonder if Kaya had been a schemer since childhood, as she seemed to be full of conspiracies and tricks since joining their group.
"We'll discuss this later. I need some time to think about it," Gion said, heading towards her room. She wanted to avoid Kaya's sly whispers, focusing on her goal of strengthening Marine. Although she didn't truly believe that she hadn't thought this through, it was a thought she could entertain for now.
Kaya whispered to herself, hoping that Gion would decline the offer. She didn't want to share Ron either. However, she knew that trying to stop it on her own wouldn't work, so she aimed to create a situation that would benefit her. Kaya believed that when the time came, these individuals would have become Ron's followers, even if their true intentions were discovered.
Kaya felt excited at the prospect of running around the ocean with Ron, gathering followers, and advancing from the original Zero Team to become a force in the Grand Line.
Meanwhile, Reiju, and two others had arrived at a training ground. Their snail boat was spacious, akin to a small island.
Ron handed a can to Sanji, who recognized it immediately. It was the same technology Germa used for transformation and memory alloy suits.
"I won't use Germa's technology," Sanji declared firmly, showing disdain for anything related to Germa.
Ron chuckled and replied, "If you don't use it, you won't have a chance to face me. But with it, you might have a glimmer of hope."
Sanji sneered and attacked, swiftly closing the distance. His black leather shoes struck Ron's face without hesitation, and Ron countered by slashing at Sanji's leg with the back of his knife.
Sanji didn't hold back, unleashing a rapid spinning kick with countless afterimages. However, Ron remained composed, predicting Sanji's movements and landing a powerful kick to Sanji's stomach, sending him tumbling and crashing into the wall of the training ground. Sanji rolled to the ground, landing next to the can he had tossed away.
"Pick it up, Sanji. Without it, you won't have the power to defeat me," Ron taunted, exuding an air of arrogance as he stood at a distance.
Reiju observed the exchange, sensing that this situation was familiar. Many influential figures in North Blue behaved similarly, giving their opponents time to rest and playing with them. Ron's current actions resembled those of such powerful individuals.
