Abigail pressed the phone against her ear, her eyes welling up with tears of joy as she heard her father's voice after so many days.

"Papa," she whispered, the tenderness in her voice conveying the depth of her feelings. I'm so glad you called. I missed you so much." She sat down on the sofa, her heart racing with excitement.

Sebastian's voice was warm and reassuring on the other end of the line. "I missed you too, my dear. I'm sorry I couldn't attend your baby shower party, but I wanted to call and check in on you."

Abigail took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. "It's okay, Papa. Jasper told me about Britney's condition. How is she doing now?"

There was a slight pause on the other end of the line before Sebastian responded. "She's stable now and has returned home. We were all very worried about her, but she's doing much better."

Abigail nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. "That's great news. I'm so glad she's okay."
