“They will survive; Darce is not weak.” Rosa closed her eyes and turned back to face the man.

“I don’t know if it is the same for you.” She took out the other blade and pointed it at him, taking a fighting stance.

“I am amazed at your confidence. You look a mess, yet you wish to point your blades at me. I am so disappointed; I want to keep you whole. This way, I have to cripple you first.” He shifted his spear again and put it beside him at an angle.

Rosa did not understand what type of attack he would make, but she was ready for anything. Her hands were steady, and she looked at his body approaching her with steps.

“I would rather die than join you. Besides, there would not be any black knights left when this is all over.” Rosa jerked her head to the side. She pointed to the crowd on the ground.

“And I have so many questions for you; I wonder what answers you have now.” Rosa felt the pang of the cut on her side as she murmured something inaudible to the Master.
