章 173: Statue

'Swoosh' suddenly the sound of an object piercing through the air entered into Layton's ears, with a backflip Layton dodged out of the way as the tentacles of energy pierced through the cover of flames and tore into the spot Layton was previously situated. But it didn't end there as the sound reverberated once again as more sharp tentacles were born aiming for his body which had still not landed. Twisting his body to the side Layton dodged once again his free hand using the missed attack as leverage to push himself further from his previous position while his axe was swung to create a safe space for his landing. All these happened in a matter of seconds and Layton was able to escape the flurry of blows the area he was previously in had all been pierced by numerous energy spikes and tentacles with a sufficient number that it seemed to form a sort of forest.
