章 7: Merlins vault.

Ragnok walks forward and slides his finger up the vault door as it melts away revealing another door behind it.

"You must place your hand on the door so it can confirm your identity." He tells me as i walk forward and inspect the new vault door. There's a distinct spot to put my hand and I just go for it.

There's another sting in my palm and I feel something looking at me before the vault door slides up.

The first thing I see is a plinth with a blue and gold book on it. There's a bird on the front I can tell that it's a Merlin.

I walk up to it curiously.

"That's the Merlin family grimoire you need to touch your ring to the front of it to bind it to yourself." Ragnok says looking at the book.

I press the matching ring to the front of the book and feel it bind to myself. I pick it up off the plinth and it starts explaining things into my mind. I can change its color and outer appearance and turn it into a kind of accessory for easy carrying like a bracelet. A little gold chain pops out and wraps around my wrist hanging the now shrunken book on my wrist.

After that new experience we walk into the bank itself. It doesn't look like much.

"You must remember that Merlin was born over 1500 years ago. These items a lot of them are extinct nowadays or highly regulated." Ragnok explains.

"I see that does explain quite a lot." There aren't mountains of gems and gold there are however coals of strange items and wooden bookshelves and even strange staffs.

"Well anything your about to see do you mind not mentioning?" I ask the goblin.

"As a respected customer and friend of the nation you have my silence on my honor." He says.

I quickly start making my way around the room sucking everything into the inventory.

"Just consider it a special Merlin magic for storage." I tell the shocked looking goblin.

"I was wondering if you would be willing to sell or trade some of the more rare items." Ragnok says looking at the vials on the shelves.

"That will be perfect as I have almost no idea about any of these items and would like some other things." I tell the goblin.

"I'm sure we can arrange some things. What are you looking for if you don't mind me asking." Ragnok says.

"If you happened to find a working time turner in the garbage somewhere I wouldn't ask questions. Also I'm sure you have some more up to date books on animagus forms and rituals?" I ask him.

"We may have indeed found a couple of those items in the trash and we believe knowledge leads to money so our books are quite up to date." He says.

"Just take what you need from the items." I say moving over and putting all the trunks in my inventory to be sorted.

Ragnok starts pulling off vials of rare items I don't recognize and putting them on a table nearby.

Meanwhile my system is giving me a list of things I've gained I sell off things like clothes and useless items honestly a lot of the stuff isn't very impressive it's just old.

However there was a single item that did catch my interest. It was a philosophers stone. However it was cleverly hidden inside of a necklace looking like a ruby. It appears to have been ment as a gift since the necklace had all the signs of a gift for a loved one including engravings.

I leave it inside the inventory for now.

"Do any of the other vaults have any coins or are they all invested?" I ask ragnok whose writing down a list of items.

"The slytherin vault remains empty since Salazar had little trust in goblins but got one just because the other founders had one. The Ravenclaw vault has mostly books. Gryffindor kept loads of armor and weapons mostly but there should be tons of gold in the Hufflepuff vault. Most of the coins are being used as currency for other vaults and are out in investments." He explains.

"Well as long as I get some spending money I should be fine." I tell him.

"You can put up some of these items for auction aswell if you like I can find buyers to get you some galleons for your own use and the goblin nation is willing to pay a high price for a lot of these aswell." He tell me quickly calculating up prices.

"That's fine as I don't think I'll be able to use a lot of these items anyway." I think it would be annoying to have to find out uses for each one when I'd much rather just have money.

"I'll have someone draw up a list of items and prices and send it to you." He says before we decided to leave and check the other vaults.

He was indeed right about the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw vaults containing books and weapons. They also didn't have any grimoires so that was disappointing. I took the books for myself and I sold the armor and weapons to the goblins or the system whichever would buy at a higher price as what the hell would I need so many swords and sets of armor for? Slytherin vault had like nothing in it as he said. The big winner was the Hufflepuff vault. Apparently she was a massive pack rat and just stored everything here. There was also piles of jewels and jewelry and golden bars and silver. I quickly snatched those up for my inventory as I could easily sell them.

After that it was time to look at my properties. Since I would be needing a place to stay as I'm sure as hell not going back to the orphanage.

Ragnok being the efficient man that he was already had a nice time-turner and the two books I wanted waiting for me in the conference room.
