\\---*Daisy's Perspective*---//
Dear Diary,
With the arrival of Shawn, things have changed around the house.
Although grandpa is having the time of his life, I am worried about Green... He hasn't been himself lately.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming either Shawn or Grandad... It's just... Complicated.
Ever since dad left, we have been living with grandad. In addition, mom died of illness a while later.
At first, Green was but a shell of himself.
As he got older though, he built up confidence and determination, to become the best trainer there ever was!
He told me he would become the strongest trainer, and that He would make our parents proud.
I told him I believed in him, and I still do.
Before, when I tried to spend time with him, he would reciprocate. We used to have so much fun together.
Now, It's as if he prefers being alone. All by himself.
I mean, he even told me to knock on his door before entering! How annoying is that?! Can't a sister barge into her little brother's room anymore?
Oh well... The only person he hangs out with is Red now. Well, at least we can say he hasn't shut himself off completely.
The other day I had a conversation with him(Red). I asked if Green was doing alright at school.
Surprisingly, he apparently hasn't changed at all over there. I was happy to hear that after Shawn, he was the number one student in his year.
Not only that, but he socialized well.
Red even had a face full of jealousy when he told me that Green had a fan club!
My little brother is so popular! Hehe. I'm a proud big sis.
Ahem.
Coming back to the main point. I wish he opened up to me a bit more. He's making his older sister worry...
In comparison to Green, Shawn seems to have wasted no time fitting in. He's so smart and gentle...
When I see him around Pokemon, there's a twinkle in his eyes. I think that the Pokemon feel that, seeing as to how much they love him.
Although he is usually somewhat distant, as soon as someone mentions Pokemon, he can blabber on for days.
I wonder what old man he got that from, heh.
I will always remember that first meeting we had. When he saved me from falling down those stairs.
God only knows what would have happened if he hadn't reacted as he did. For that, I am eternally grateful.
Now that Green, Shawn, and Red are old enough, they will leave on a Journey, all by themselves.
It saddens me to see them leave, but they promised to come back and visit sometimes.
That is the only thing preventing me from forcefully making them stay.
As for me, I will assist grandpa for now. My eyes are set on becoming the best Pokemon researcher, and I am unwilling to give up my dream for anything!
Well, anything apart from my little brother.
I wish them a safe journey, and I hope they remember that they can always come back to Pallet if they're ever tired.
This chapter is a bit sad, but I felt it was necessary. It is the first of something I might make a trend of, mini (300-500) word side stories.
I am happy to announce that apart from the minimum of four chapters a week, I will also sometimes have batch releases of two chapters every now and then. When I have the time.
Happy reading!
