Bab 82: Nosferatu
As Lyra and Ben tirelessly worked on an elixir to counter Adrian's dark schemes, Lilith burst into the room, her expression grave. "Clara, I've uncovered a terrifying lead," she said breathlessly.
Clara looked up from her grimoire, concern etched into her features. "What is it, Lilith? Where's Lyra?"
"I don't know where Lyra is, but we can't wait any longer," Lilith urged. "Adrian has been sacrificing students, harvesting their essence for a sinister purpose."
A chill ran down Clara's spine as she processed Lilith's words. "Sacrificing students? But why would he commit such atrocities?"
Lilith's eyes hardened with resolve. "It's far worse than we imagined. Beneath the academy lies an ancient seal, imprisoning a vampire lord of unimaginable power – Nosferatu himself. Adrian seeks to break this seal and harness Nosferatu's ability to control all life force."
Clara gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in horror. "If he succeeds, the devastation would be catastrophic! We have to stop him, no matter the cost."
Nodding grimly, the two witches steeled themselves for the perilous task ahead. Without wasting another moment, they raced through the shadowed corridors of Ashborne Academy, their hearts pounding with determination and fear.
Their search led them deep into the bowels of the school, where the air hung thick with the stench of decay and dark magic. Ancient runes pulsed with sinister energy, making their skin crawl as they descended further into the darkness.
Finally, they reached a vast chamber dominated by a black stone altar, its surface stained with dried blood. Intricate patterns and arcane symbols surrounded the altar, each one a piece of the ritual Adrian sought to complete.
"This is it," Lilith whispered, her voice trembling. "This is where Adrian plans to unleash Nosferatu's power."
Clara's gaze hardened with resolve. "We have to stop him, but how? We still don't know who he plans to sacrifice or when the ritual will take place."
Suddenly, a realization dawned on Lilith, her eyes widening with horror. "The sacrifices... they're not random. He's been harvesting the essence of our strongest students, those with the purest life force."
Clara's blood ran cold as the implications sank in. "Lyra! They're next on his list!"
