Ryan made his way onto the stage, and he didn't hesitate to pick the water element student.
He had understood that he wouldn't stand a chance at getting through the light element user defense. The muscular water element academy student walked to the center of the stage, as Ryan pointed at him.
"I have a unique mutated core. My element already show alot of potential to be able to fight above ranks and that is why I'm above average." Ryan said, with a slight nervous tone.
His mind became a little sluggish from being to nervous of failing. He didn't explain the reason exactly how he had wanted but he feels like he said enough of what he wanted to say.
"A unique mutated core, there are alot of those. Show me what make your mana core different and better than the rest." The academy student said in a uncaring tone.
Ryan pulled out his sword and the student did the same. Ryan used his floating steps to swiftly travel across the stage. He wasn't moving at his fastest speed but he wasn't slow.
Ryan swung his sword down while using mountain slash, and his opponent blocked it with ease. Ryan wasn't to surprised at the results and made his sword lighter while swinging as fast as he could. All in the attempt to get a hit on his opponent.
The guy realized how bad Ryan was at with his sword play and couldn't help but speak about it.
"Did you just start learning how to fight?" The academy student asked with a hint of mockery in his tone. He wasn't really trying to be disrespectful but it was funny to him to think a person would come here without learning to fight first.
"Yeah, i just started learning when I formed my core. It been less than a year since I formed my mana core." Ryan replied.
Ryan lied a little but all in the hopes to get in the academy.
"Oh, why can't i sense your core? I had assumed you was a rank3 just like me at first. But from how much power your swings produce, and the level of your fighting skills you can't be that strong. I don't think you even been using martial arts skills."
"Yeah, i don't know any martial arts skills and I am only a rank1." Ryan replied, conveniently not answering the part why he can't sense his mana core. He felt like it would be a headache to explain.
Ryan used his gravity chamber skill, to try to slow his opponent down. The guy was able to easily resist it.
"Interesting, you can slow people down. But if you want to pass you got to show more than this." The academy student said.
Ryan already figured his element would be useless to used against his opponent but he still have another thing he could do.
Ryan jumped back and put away his sword.
The academy student raised an eyebrow at Ryan action.
Ryan pulled out a heavy long sword from his ring. He had bought it a few days ago, its just a normal sword. It only cost him around 10 mana stones to buy.
Ryan practice a little with the long sword but he definitely a amateur with it still. Ryan swung the 2 handed long sword with one hand like a normal sword. Of course Ryan wrapped it in his aura so it wouldn't be heavy.
The academy student was surprised to see Ryan use it like that but the battle didn't change much. Ryan attacks did have more power behind it but without the skill to use the long sword, the student didn't face to much trouble. He still wasn't trying that hard to spar against Ryan.
"I will admit your element have potential with enough practice. But as long as your opponent is more skilled than you, your greatest advantage will be useless. Even though you haven't been practicing long, I can tell you not naturally good at learning martial arts. I can clearly tell you was taught some but you are displaying them badly. I don't even know the technique you learned but I can tell you doing it wrong from the obvious mistakes."
"Show me more or you won't pass. I still don't see anything to interesting. Any person could increase their strength and do what you are doing." The academy student said.
Ryan paused for a second to think of what he could do and remember his throwing knives. He pulled out 3 throwing knives and used his lightning element to charge up to reple the knives out his hand. As he charging the lightning he jumps up and made the knives as light as possible when he shot it from his hands.
As they left his hands he made the knives as heavy as possible. The speed of the throwing knives was fast, almost fast enough for his opponent to get hit. But he use a water shield to block the attack.
"Not bad, but I still don't think its that impressive. I can't let you pass if all you can do is throw throwing knives faster than average. I could easily sense you building up mana, no one would just stand still to get hit."
"Is there anything else you want to show me." The academy student said while looking at Ryan.
Ryan sighed and got out his fighting stance. "There not much I can show you, my element is not effective on a person 2 ranks higher than me. The only reason I am above average is because of my element, so I'm not sure what else to do.
"If this all you have to show, than I will have to fail you. I'm sorry there nothing you did today that I feel that is worth a pass." The academy student turned around and walked back to the other student.
No one had any real opinion about the fail, many other kids failed today too. Ryan walked off the stage feeling down that he failed.
Brian and Elizabeth came over to cheer him up a little. They wasn't surprised that he failed, they never really thought Ryan would pass the entry test in the first place.
