So in a matter of 72 hours, he had saved her twice from her hidden problems which he hoped could be shared go him at least just
But why was he feeling this way? She was a spoilt brat who was rude and always wanted things to go her way at every little point. Was it love? Of course not, he couldn't be in love with her I mean, he just met her not too long ago and he was going to rob her.
He was brought out of his daze when she told him she was grateful that he saved her from dying and also for accepting her proposal
"You don't know what you are doing for me, I will always be indebted to you for my whole life," she said
He felt a tinge of compassion for her and then tried to refuse to feel that way because yeah, he considered himself ruthless and unworthy of loving anyone or any person loving him. He had given up on love at this point the only valuable thing he wanted was a comfortable life for himself and his mother and with this newest development he sure knew he was going to fulfill that one purpose he had for his life, maybe just maybe he could continue his studies remotely at the University of Buea and maybe pursue a masters in Business to own his own business this had always been a wish tor him and he could see these falling into place.
He dropped Daniella in front of her gate and refused to enter her house, he said it was too early for that and all he wanted her to do was go to work and hopefully rest her leg which was swollen although he knew how stubborn she was because of her insistence of going to work instead of resting the poor injured leg. She accepted and they made arrangements to meet up later so they could spread out the rules of their relationship and the date when he was to meet her father and also how things like money, and o be done to make everything believable to her father, he was one to investigate so if she wanted this to be real to him she had to make Hendrick and his mother In accepted pair for her father to accept the union.
She got into the house and was greeted by her father seated on her couch waiting for her.
"Well, I believe there is a perfect explanation as to why I didn't meet your home this morning" her father startled her and she almost fell cause her ankle still hurt and she was limping.
"Geez, Dad you scared me," She said holding her chest, to slow down her heartbeat.
"You ought not to be scared dear daughter unless there's something fishy you are doing and don't want me to find out, for starters why are you limping, and why are you in male clothes? For all, I know you don't have any friends, not to talk of male friends so this is a first" He said.
And that was when she realized she was in Hendricks, shorts, and Tee, and yeah, it blurted out of her mouth before she even noticed "They are my boyfriend's clothes, we went out to the seashore last night and u sprained my ankle while playing on the sand, and as for the clothes, yeah mine got soiled so I had to borrow his she said all in one go.
She breathe hard and that was when she made a mental note to take Hendricks's advice of breathing in between monologues damn she almost lost some air.
He was shocked and happy at the same time and just wanted to hug his daughter so tight.
For the first time in so long, she saw her father smile so hard that it reached his eyes and for a split second she felt guilty for trying to use Hendrick to move up to the position of CEO. Did that make her a bad person she thought? But she was brought out of her dilemma when she felt someone's arms around her and it was her dad, the first time she was feeling his fatherly life through an embrace all cause of her fake boyfriend. Hell if she had known this is what was going to give her the fatherly love she wanted all her life she would have just accepted one of her suitors though she found them to be too rude and arrogant always thinking a woman had to be submissive to a man. Just the thought of what the Mayor's son had done turned her off, she detested the guy.
Now back to reality her Father was a happy wreck and she could have sworn his smile formed a dimple she never knew he had. Well, he had always found fault in what she did and never really found it necessary to smile at her so she had never taken in his facial features because she always looked down when he scolded her.
" I need not say what I was here to say my darling, you've made me a happy old man," he said "I want to see my Son in law this weekend and without further ado, we could just start preparing for the wedding already, everything's on me," He said
She saw a side of her father she had hardly ever seen at least not until when she won a contract for the expansion of their company.
The Way he called him "darling" she felt so endeared that she never wanted to wake up from this dream, she wanted to be in it forever.
"But Father, you didn't ask his name, background, or what he does for a living," she said looking worried.
"Wipe that look off your face, my angel, as long as you accepted him it means he's perfect, I know you are not one to sleep around or date numerous men so I trust your judgment in this one," He said so and got from the couch he was seated on and for the first time in all her 23 years In earth, her Father held her for a forehead kiss and told her how much he loved her and cherished her.
