Bab 83: Annihilation
Meanwhile
"I am back!"
"Your god, your faith, your master has returned!"
"After losing my guidance, you have lost your direction for thousands of years, and you have abandoned your faith."
"Rotten! Fallen! Dirty! This world is filthy!"
"I'm back! I will purify this filthy world, and I will redeem your fallen souls! I will open a new chapter for this world!"
"I am the deity of salvation and the Apocalypse of purification!"
"Accept my trial! This is the end and the dawn!"
The powerful voice reverberated across the globe echoing in the minds of every individual.
"What's happening here?"
"How?"
World leaders, still reeling from the shock of the "nuclear bomb incident," were bewildered by this sudden proclamation.
"Charles? No, this is not Charles. This is Apocalypse!"
In Cairo, Eric and his group, in the midst of their search for Charles, were startled by this unexpected sound.
"Damn it. We need to hurry." Eric exclaimed in anger.
"Apocalypse…" Summers, murmured.
A name that symbolised change. The change many mutants who had been persecuted by humans were waiting for; Apocalypse the savior.
"I will build my temple here. I will accept the worship of all living beings. Godsends who transcend mortals, come to my temple! I will lead you to build a new world! A world belonging to the extraordinary!" Apocalypse's voice echoed once more.
Following this proclamation, the earth quaked violently. A sandstorm of immense force swept towards Cairo City, leaving destruction in its wake.
Shattered! Decomposed!
Under the relentless onslaught of the sandstorm, Cairo disintegrated. Tall buildings, traffic, green trees, and solid roads—all succumbed to the transforming force, reduced to nothing but sand and dust.
"Run!"
Confronted by this apocalyptic scene, Eric and others turned pale. The world around them crumbled, and they escaped towards safety as the city succumbed to the overwhelming power of Apocalypse.
Finally out of Cairo's range, Eric stared at the unfolding scene before him, his face drained of color. Just a few steps further, and he might have met his end.
The relentless sandstorm engulfed Cairo, reducing everything to rubble. A once vast and modern city was obliterated in an instant, leaving only an expanse of sand and swirling dust, like an endless tornado.
Within this sand and dust vortex, particles condensed and gathered continuously.
As the dust settled, a colossal and majestic pyramid, stretching across the ruins of Cairo City, stood tall between the sky and the earth.
"Oh, God!"
Leaders worldwide, witnessing this catastrophe through satellite images, were petrified and utterly stupefied.
A city vanished in the blink of an eye, transformed into a pyramid.
With the will of this person, any city on Earth could be wiped out instantly.
This was the end! This was annihilation! This was the apocalyptic finale, the judgment of God!
"Is this the end? Is humanity on the brink of destruction?"
"Do we have a future?"
"God, if you truly exist, please intervene! Please save us!"
Confronted by the overwhelming power of Apocalypse, a force akin to that of a god, people were left with nothing but prayers.
In the blink of an eye, the bustling city vanished, replaced by a vast expanse of towering pyramids that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Alex transported into Cairo amidst this surreal transformation. He hovered in the air overlooking the ruins of a once splendid city. Jean was also with him.
"Is this the might of a fifth-level Mutant?" Jean gazed upon the scene, horror reflected in her eyes.
"He ain't no fifth-level Mutant, just a fourth-level pinnacle. If you unleash your Phoenix force, and you can stand a chance against him," Alex remarked nonchalantly, shaking his head.
"I'll show you what I mean," Alex added, placing a firm hand on Jean's shoulder. Suddenly, they teleported, appearing instantly at Eric's side.
"Alex, you're finally here. Apocalypse... he's beyond our league," Eric admitted, eyeing Alex with a hint of desperation.
The horror of Apocalypse loomed large, with an array of formidable abilities that made him a force to be reckoned with.
Eric's singular power paled in comparison, rendering him practically inconsequential in the face of Apocalypse's might. It was clear that Apocalypse regarded them like his own offspring, sparing them harm, with the exception of Charles.
Despite their goal of eliminating him, Apocalypse showed a strange semblance of mercy, sparing the lives of those who sought his demise.
Otherwise Eric along with all others would have meant their end like all those innocent people of Cairo, who got reduced to mere sand and dust. Apocalypse claimed the life of thousands in a mere instant.

Bab 84: Phoenix Rising
Apocalypse, cradling Charles, and flanked by several loyal subordinates, materialized before the imposing Pyramids.
"Charles, your power is captivating!" Apocalypse's smile held an unsettling charm. "I bestow upon you the honor of returning to the embrace of God. You shall become a part of me, eternal under my glory. Your power will blend with mine, shining brightly in my hand. I will rule this world indefinitely! I will reclaim the throne of God, reigning supreme over all beings!"
Charles's psychic abilities, capable of controlling others and altering memories, now in the hands of Apocalypse, meant potential global domination as everyone could be turned into his subservient slaves.
"Above all beings? Haha!" Charles erupted in laughter. "You're dreaming!"
"Dreaming? Ah, I'll preserve a trace of your soul, and you shall witness everything with your own eyes!" Apocalypse declared, mentioning Charles before striding toward the ancient Pyramids.

Mean
"What now Alex?" Eric, filled with anxiety, turned to Alex for guidance.
Previously unable to locate Charles, the situation had changed. Eric couldn't stand by and let his old friend fall victim to Apocalypse.
"We will take him down." Alex responded with amusement.
"Just us?" Eric questioned, surveying the small group—four adults and two children. Was it realistic to take on this formidable adversary?
"We have her and above that I am here, aren't I!" Alex patted Jean on the shoulder, surprising Eric.
"Alex, are you jocking?" Eric's incredulous gaze questioned the decision. Relying on a girl not yet eighteen? It seemed unreliable.
"Don't be fooled by her age. She's a natural fifth-level Mutant; kicking your butt is child's play for her," Alex stated bluntly, showing no mercy in his assessment.
Eric's mouth twitched at the revelation. No wonder that scoundrel specifically adopted this girl. She turned out to be a natural fifth-level Mutant.
"Well, the little girl is still too young and it's too dangerous," Eric shook his head.
"With me here, it won't be a problem. I'll take down Apocalypse," Alex said nonchalantly.
"Alright," Eric said reassured.
Truth be told, after all these years alongside Alex, both he and Charles knew Alex's strength was immeasurable and perilous.
"But, teacher, I..." Jean was a bit bewildered. She thought she was just here to spectate the elder Mutants' battle, but suddenly found herself thrust into the frontline.
"Believe in yourself and in me. The Phoenix force is just your strength; control it, don't let it control you," Alex bent down, smiling as he gentlywhispered softly.
"Yeah! My teacher!" Jean beamed, her eyes determined.
Watching this scene, Eric touched his chin, wondering if leaving Anya in Alex's care would lead to any problems... Will Alex become her role model rather than him.
Alex gripped Eric's shoulder who is holding on to others and, with his other hand holding Jean's small hand, teleported them all directly onto the Pyramids.
As they arrived, witnessing Apocalypse preparing to swap bodies with Charles.
"Apocalypse, release Charles!"
Hank roared, transforming into the blue-haired Beast and charging at Apocalypse.
"Your opponent is me!"
Psylocke brandished her long knife, standing tall as she lunged at Hank.
Angel ascended into the heavens, transforming into a rapidly spinning top with razor-sharp metal feathers resembling deadly blades. A fierce roar echoed through the air as Angel unleashed the "Blade Storm," a whirlwind of lethal metal hurtling towards everyone in its path.
"Ah, kids?" Eric sneered, extending his hand and summoning a magnetic storm. Angel, with his metallic wings, found himself ensnared by Magneto's magnetic force, rendering him powerless in Eric's grasp.
Meanwhile, Quicksilver dashed towards Charles with lightning speed, aiming to rescue him from the clutches of Apocalypse. To his horror, he realized that Apocalypse's eyes tracked his every move—a disconcerting revelation.
In the blink of an eye, Quicksilver found himself incapacitated, a result of Apocalypse's swift retaliation. A resounding slap sent him spiraling through the air, leaving him sprawled on the ground like a tossed gourd.
"Pietro!" Eric bellowed in anguish, unleashing a torrent of magnetic power in a heightened magnetic storm.
"I'm fine, Dad," Quicksilver reassured, wiping a smear of blood from his mouth. Though shaken by the slap, he managed to see his father's caring side.
"Jean, it's your turn. Always remember—you're the master of the Phoenix Force. It's your power, and you control it." Alex explanated.
