Bab 10: Ten
At the Heavenly realm Li Jing appeared right before the King and Queen with their son by their side. She gracefully chatted with them, but they didn't quite agree with her terms and conditions and sent her out. Furious to know someone would act up that way the King and Queen enforced the palace with guards.
Li Jing however, was pissed off to say the least, but she decided to come back another time with a better plan. She returned to her place in the Cultivation realm and found it oddly quiet. She scoured the fields but no one was around. She headed to Senior Iris's home, she was in but she didn't want anything to do with her. So Li Jing went to see Elder Orchid.
"What's going on Elder Orchid, it's like a ghost town out there," Li Jing asked, curiously.
"Everything is fine, there's still a lot of work to do. Everyone is either scared of you or disappointed in your actions. I told you to be careful and not to do anything reckless," Elder Orchid seethed, before turning her back.
Li Jing knew she couldn't stay in the Cultivation realm, but she didn't leave without seeing CaoMei first. Since it was late she waited until dawn.
"CaoMei, are you in? I need to speak with you before I leave. I probably won't see you again," Li Jing shouted through the door.
"Li Jing, you shouldn't be here. You're too dangerous to be around. I'm sorry Li Jing, you're my best friend so this makes it harder for me," CaoMei sobbed as she shut the door.
When Li Jing heard her cries this made her own tears stream down her face. She ran back to her place. She was still adamant she wouldn't not join the Demon realm, so she decided to lay low within the Cultivation realm for a few weeks which turned into months. Jonah was worried as he hadn't seen her, so he went to visit her.
"Li Jing? Are you in there? Li JIng?" Jonah kept knocking and calling for her.
"Jonah, she may not answer as she is laying low," Senior Iris told him.
"Why? What do you mean?" Jonah asked, getting worried.
"Well she was kidnapped by the Demon king, then we saw her absorb the source of power. She claims she can hinder its power, but we know it's far stronger," Senior Iris told him.
"I did sense something different in her compared to the other Cultivators, maybe she can control that kind of power. She's not weak. She has a strong wilful personality. I believe she can control it," Jonah expressed.
"You really think so?" Senior Iris said.
"Yes I do, I feel you need to give her a chance to prove she can hinder its power. You said it yourself about the red streak in her cultivating. It hasn't affected her cultivating. What she has done so far is still looking as beautiful on the day she did it," Jonah explained and Senior Iris smiled.
"Maybe you're right, we should give her a chance to prove that she can hinder its power," Senior Iris agreed, "I will speak to Elder Orchid hoping I can change her mind about letting Li Jing go," Senior Iris added.
"Yes, I will go with you to support you," Jonah insisted not taking no for an answer.
