A confident MC is nice to see. From just the first chapters I can tell that much to love about the protagonist and the world he inhabits. I look forward to seeing how the author develops this further.

It just doesn't look like this is your first novel. You have a good control of your words and really love the initial development of the plot. It keeps the reader hooked.
