Jim stared at the golden-haired young man in utter disbelief, his eyes wide as though he had seen a ghost. His expression was filled with increasing terror. The words that had just come from Arias’ mouth—"I am the foolish king you were just talking about"—echoed clearly in his mind.

There was no need for further explanation; Jim understood perfectly what the young man before him meant. The distinct blue eyes, the iconic golden hair, and the face he had seen in portraits before—it could only be Arias Scarcia, the king of the Refania Kingdom.

Not only was Arias the king of the kingdom, but he was also a mage of the king level. Although that wasn't the full extent of his power, the mere title of a king mage was enough to instill fear in countless people, especially in someone as weak as Jim, who was only at the adept level.
